Talking to us on behalf of
his team is BalaGanesh [ BG]
Pauline:
Thank you for giving us the time & the privilege of this interview.
BG: Thank you Pauline for the
opportunity. It’s our pleasure.
Pauline: When
did this concept of IndiBloggers begin with you?
BG: The year was 2007. We have been
blogging for more than 8 years and there are some really great blogs
that were not being showcased because there were no platforms to
bring them to the crowd. So we initially started a directory for all
the bloggers of Indian origin. This later evolved into a social
networking platform for Indian bloggers.
Pauline:
What are the major challenges you face today?
BG: Bloggers are one of the most
influential communities in the online space today and we are trying
to connect them to various brands so that the corporate brands and
the bloggers mutually get benefited in the process. Most of the
bloggers are on board with the concept and are interested in
participating in different brand activities and contribute, but not
all the corporate brands have truly understood the value of Social
media in India. But that is changing now, and more companies are
taking the initiatives to directly get in touch with the community
as they have started to understand that it’s this community that
uses their products and they need to be involved and engaged
consistently.
Pauline: What
would you attribute your success to so far?
BG: Definitely the bloggers!!!! Without
them we have no clue where we'd be.
Pauline: Who
or what was it that inspired you the most through your journey thus
far …how & why?
BG: More than whom it’s the what factor.
It’s the concept of blogging and our active community that not just
inspires us but also has shaped Indiblogger
to what it is right now.
Pauline:
how would you describe your team and what works for you all the
best? Any advice for those out there building a team?
BG: We all are a sincere hardworking
group...and we came together for a good cause. Hence we are a
'team'...everyone in our team has leadership qualities in their
respective practice areas so one does not need to look over the
others tasks. We all know and understand our responsibilities well.
For a good team to work effectively, the objectives have to be clear
to all the team members, initial resources & design provided, a good
communication protocol within the team is an absolute must.
Pauline:
About recession, how could we not talk about it…every internet
marketer has suffered the brunt of it…how did you cope?
BG: Well, we surely have had our share of
downs, but we knew that recession was just another reason for
bloggers to blog about and we tried to focus more on bringing in
more engagement products like IndiRanking system, Indimail etc.
Pauline:
On a lighter note I just have to ask this … What are you guys like
on a day at home, yes that’s when you aren’t working?
BG: Well, our entire team is a huge fan
of Rock. We spend our time on good movies, books, PC games, Partying
etc.
Pauline:
Is there anything in particular that you would like to say to our
readers?
BG: Keep blogging!!!!!!!!!!!
Well folks that was our
IndiTeam for you, we wish them every success and loads of happy
bloggers !!!!
