Poetry Corner Featured Poem

Michael Derowin

The Beauty within you
shows in any light,
For any man's eyes
your a glowing sight.

You bring to me all
I really need to live,
Everything around me
was all yours to give.

I feel the energy you
pass to me to have hope,
Showing me the way
from the sliding slopes.

Never promising of
things getting better,
Just showing me the
way to become a go-getter.

Filling me with the
love that I really need,
To show others how
to plant a positive seed.

Giving the courage to
move our lives ahead,
Moving away from the
negative things we dread.

You come around when
I am so down and out,
Picking me up when
I am ready to shout.

Showing me there is more
to life than wanting to die,
Just tell the truth instead
of wanting to tell a lie.

Letting me see your beauty
and colorful flying wings,
Guiding me down my
path where my Angel sings.

My Angel of Hope I have
finally met you once more,
You give me hope and
emotional support galore.

Featured Forums

Each issue of this newsletter will be featuring a different forum from the community. A gentleman many of you are familiar with moderates this week's featured forum. His positive, helpful and sometimes downright funny posts in other forums are a pleasure to read. I'm talking here about none other than one of UK's finest,

Chris Wiseman.

I asked Chris to tell us a bit about his Welcome People Of The World Forum and here's what he shared.

1. I've visited your Welcome People Of The World forum a few times and was wondering what you had in mind when you started it and how you see it evolving over time?

This is an interesting question because when I first joined AdlandPro I was looking to get more exposure to my little personal website. I had nothing to offer business wise just a burning desire to help people in need of a lift. The Welcome People of the World Website started as a basic AOL "build a quick simple website" and just had basic lines of text. It was somewhere I kept my positive thoughts to share to the world. From this I started to get some positive responses from people who said "You made a difference to my life today-thank you" and this inspired me to build the positive community it is today. The Welcome People of the World Forum is an extension/link to the website and it allows my dear AdlandPro friends to experience a taste of the website and of course an easy link to the site should they wish to explore further. In terms of the future it will grow and lead in the direction of life's path. By that I mean that everything happens for a reason and I believe that I am providing a service that will be lead by the direction of my own life and of those that use the site. I truly believe it is a lifetime project and I enjoy working on the site and developing it very much.

2. How has this forum contributed to your experience here at AdlandPro?

The forum itself has changed many times depending again on my life story. Firstly it was just a place of inspiration. Then I added my personal experiences from my professional full time job in the ambulance service. This was purely to offer my good friends emergency life saving advice to use in the event of an emergency. Then I took on a fun direction and shared my funny stories and jokes with the community. Today the balance of fun and inspiration feels right to me and I owe a lot to AdlandPro for providing such a wonderful window of opportunity. The Person of the Week Award also allowed me to extend the forum to three forums adding some tales from the ambulance service which I intend to expand upon. In terms of my experience here at AdlandPro it has enabled me to write down and share ideas freely and without fear of being shot down. The people here are really special and they receive my material with open arms. I love AdlandPro and will contribute as much as possible way into the future.

3. Is there anything you'd like to add about your forum or your experience here at AdlandPro?

My rules are simple "care enough to share enough" I am forever thinking of new ideas and ways of sharing in the community. I do not use high-pressured repeat threads or adverts. I simply offer a free service to those who need a lift in their day. It has been said that my timing is always just right…."You sent that just when I needed it" again this inspires me. I would like to take this opportunity to say that if I don't contribute to your forums then please understand I balance a busy full time job working long 12 hour shifts with networking in my spare time. We all know that time is precious and should be used wisely. If I had my way I would contribute more if I had the time. So please understand that I do try to balance my own forum with replies to your forums.

And a fine job you do of just that, Chris. If you haven't visited Chris's forum, you can do it here, and if you want to send him a message or invite him to be friends, you can find his profile here.

THE POETRY CORNER

This is a new feature that we have added to the Newsletter starting in this issue. In each issue we will feature someone from the AdlandPro Community that writes poetry and feature them and one of their poems here. In this issue we have chosen to feature known other than

Michael Derowin

I personally have been an admirer of Michael's poetry since the first poem that I read of his. I had an opportunity to speak with Michael about his writing and asked him a couple questions about his poetry.

Michael, you have a flair for writing poetry and it seems to come to you so effortlessly. How long have you been writing your poetry for?

Hi Marilyn, I have been writing Poetry since I was in School but never really thought there was a flair. Never really taking it serious until later in my life when I became married. Writing the Poetry in the past but never kept because of the memories of the poems themselves.

There is one thing that I would really like to know Michael! Where do you get your inspiration from when you are writing your poems?

The inspiration comes from things that are happening around me in my life at the time. Memories of things gone by which come back to see once again. Looking around the world and the things and conditions which are there. The Romance of which I write comes from my Heart and the way I really feel and love about life itself. Inspired by other people who read my work and say how much they enjoy reading the poems.

Here is one of Michael's poems that he has decided to share with all of us. It is titled, "ANGEL OF HOPE" and you can read more of Michael's poetry in his forum titled, "World Of Poetry" here.

I would like to thank you Michael for allowing us to Interview you and for sharing one of your poems with us! The poem is very beautiful and touching. If you are not a friend of Michael's already please invite him to be your friend today. Here is Michael's profile Michael Derowin

Jokes

A blonde woman goes to the post office to buy stamps for her Christmas cards. She says to the clerk, "May I have 50 Christmas stamps?"

The clerk says, "What denomination?"

The woman says, "God help us. Has it come to this?

Give me 6 Catholic, 12 Methodist, 10 Lutheran, 2 Greek Orthodox, and 22 Baptists!

A young couple got married and went on their honeymoon. When they got back, the bride immediately called her mother. "Well," said her mother, "so how was the honeymoon?"

"Oh, mama, the honeymoon was wonderful! So romantic..." Suddenly she burst out crying. "But, mama, as soon as we returned, Sam started using the most horrible language -- things I'd never heard before! I mean, all these awful 4-letter words! You've got to take me home...,

PLEASE MAMA!"

"Sarah, Sarah, calm down! You need to stay with your husband and work this out. Now, tell me, what could be so awful? What 4-letter words?"

"Please don't make me tell you, mama," wept the daughter, "I'm so embarrassed, they're just too awful! COME GET ME, PLEASE!!"

"Darling, baby, you must tell me what has you so upset. Tell your mother these horrible 4-letter words!"

Sobbing, "Oh, Mama..., he used words like: dust, wash, iron, cook..."

"I'll pick you up in twenty minutes."

* * * *THE ART CORNER* * * *

There are so many talented artists here at AdlandPro that it is hard to pick just one to feature. This issue we are going to introducing you to two different artists with two very different art forms.

Our first is named Martha Bloom, but many know her as "The Gourd Lady".

Martha owns a nursery in Clearfield, Pennsylvania and became interested in crafting with gourds some 10 years ago. Her work ranges from whimsical animals to beautifully painted containers and it can be seen on her website and also Rose, Jenny and Venerina's 5th Art Exhibition forum.

By the way, if you are a crafter, there is a wealth of information on her website about gourd crafting. She has gourds ready to be painted and even patterns and books on gourd crafting available there as well as her own work. You can check it out here.

If Photography is your thing, let me introduce you to

Charles Robinson

Charles lives in Washington State and his landscape and seascape photography is breathtaking and reflects his love of nature. At first his photographs were taken for personal enjoyment, but now they have been made available to us all on his website.

There you can find photos under many categories including:

Landscape, Seascape, Waterfalls, Flowers. Night Sky, Prosser, WA (his home town) and Nostalgia.

Image courtesy of Charlie's Website at http://www.photosbycharlie.com

While there, you can pick up a free screensaver and a discount coupon as well. More of his work can be seen at the 6th Art Exhibition Forum here.
