Be Inspired

by: Venerina Conti

Not all bad things happen for bad reasons.

Sometimes in life things may not seem to be going our way.

Sometimes we may feel like the world is collapsing around us.

Sometimes we may feel like we are fighting a losing battle.

And sometimes we may feel like we are swimming against the tide.

And the truth is that sometimes we may just be doing just that.

Events in life are just like the movement of the sea, they flow like the tide.

Instead of swimming against the tide, we should go with the flow.

We will have good days and we will have bad ones but not all the bad that happens is for a bad reason.

There is a lesson to be learnt from everything.

The important thing is to be aware and pay attention to the signs sent our way.

Only you have the power to turn negative into positive.

Only you have the power to transform weaknesses into strengths

And only you are responsible for the decisions you make.

So be at oneness with you and everything around you in harmony

Namaste

Featured Forums

If you spend any time at all visiting various forums here at AdlandPro, you probably are familiar with this week's moderator,

profile pic
Jill Bachman.

You may have noticed in her signature the words "Attitude is Everything". Clicking on this will take you to her website, but did you know that she has a forum with the same name? To give you an idea of its popularity, two threads alone had over 13,000 views and almost 1,000 responses last time I checked. Whether your interest is in checking out the many photos submitted here, submitting some of your own favorites, or just picking up a new thought or two, you can't go wrong by visiting The Attitude is Attitude is Everything Forum

In the meantime, I asked Jill to tell us a bit about it and here's what she shared.

Hi Judy,
Yes, I love the Newsletter and I have seen the featured forums link. I would be honored to add my Attitude is Everything Forum and answer your questions.

1.Your Attitude is Everything forum has had phenomenal response, especially the Please share a FUN Photo - Make My Day! thread and the A Journey to the Mountain of Love thread. I was wondering what you had in mind when you first started it and how you see/have seen it evolving over time.

I started the Attitude is Everything forum as a way to share positive motivational and personal development information. I very much believe that people need to surround themselves with positive people to help them achieve success in their life. My favorite quote is "Whatever you vividly imagine, ardently desire, sincerely believe & enthusiastically act upon, must inevitably come to pass!" Paul J. Meyer

2. How has this forum contributed to your experience here at AdlandPro?

It has been very rewarding, because the forum is full of inspirational information that sparks discussion which is a wonderful way to create long-lasting friendships.

3. Is there anything you'd like to add about your forum or your experience here at AdlandPro?

I am so very grateful to have found AdlandPro. It is definitely my home on the net, and everyone is like family to me. I plan on staying around for a long time to come :-)

I do believe we are blessed to have you here, Jill.

If you would like to visit Jill's forum, you can do it Here, and if you'd like to send Jill a message or invite her to be friends, you can do it Here.

THE POETRY CORNER

This is a new feature that we have added to the Newsletter starting in this issue. In each issue we will feature someone from the AdlandPro Community that writes poetry and feature them and one of their poems here. In this issue of the Newsletter we have chosen to feature our one and only poet,

profile pic
MR NICK SYM

I discovered quite some time ago about Nick's writing ability when I stumbled upon his website. He has so many wonderful poems there and I was just in awe of writings! I had the pleasure of speaking to Nick and I asked him if he would be willing to give us an Interview and answer a couple of brief questions, and he agreed! Here is what Nick had to say!

Q) Nick, how and when did you get started with writing your poetry?

A) I used to drive the big trucks until one day I was involved in a serious accident. During my recuperation I thanked God every day that I was still alive and a nurse suggested that I write my feelings on paper and have been thanking God not only for my life, but also for the gift he gave me on spreading his word!

Q) Nick, I am interested in the different topics that you write about. You write about problems and issues facing the world many times; where do you get your inspiration from?

A) Other than the inspiration given to me by our Lord I also get a sense of accomplishment when a poem is read and the person shows genuine appreciation for what I have written.

Thank you Nick for obliging us with a brief Interview! Now we would like to share one of Nick's poems with you….you will see why I like his writing so much!!

Dear Marilyn

Thank you so much for this honor which is very unexpected! I would be more than happy to do anything for you, and this is so special. God Bless you and all my AdlandPro friends!

Our Blue Marble

This poem is dedicated to Jerilyn Merideth in recognition for her hard work in making this a safer and cleaner planet!

I look up into the sky,
and wonder what is in store
For in this the grand Universe,
there must be a whole lot more
Was it God's intention?
for us to be alone
On this bluish marble,
in the heavens, we call our home
There must be brothers and sisters,
out there, trying to say hello
For all that we have done as people,
what do we have to show
It is the cries of the starving children,
that we seem to ignore
No, it is not our problem, so in our hearts,
we conveniently close the door
Maybe it is the beggars and the homeless,
the one's we turn our heads from each day
Could it be the aged and the handicapped?
our wishes for them to go away
It is time for us to pay,
for our mistakes
To rectify the situation,
no matter what it takes
Get rid of the poisons from the air,
and let the babies breath
Shed the blackness from our souls,
and once again start to believe
Clean the lakes and oceans,
from the smell of death
Give our mammal cousins,
a long awaited breathe
This is our planet,
the big blue marble we call our home
But do not be mistaken,
for we are not alone.

Jokes

A Truck Driver's Duty

A truck driver was heading down the highway when he saw a priest at the side of the road. Feeling it was his duty, he stopped to give the priest a ride. A short time later, he saw a lawyer with a briefcase on the side of the road and aimed his truck at him.

At the last second, he thought of the priest with him and realized he couldn't run over the lawyer, so he swerved, but he heard a thump anyway. Looking back as he drove on, he didn't see anything.

He began to apologize for his behavior to the priest. "I'm sorry, Father. I barely missed that lawyer at the side of the road."

But the priest said, "Don't worry, son. I got him with my door."

Goin' Fishin'

A fisherman from the city was out fishing on a lake in a small boat. He noticed another man in a small boat open his tackle box and take out a mirror. Being curious the man rowed over and asked, "What is the mirror for?"

"That's my secret way to catch fish," said the other man. "Shine the mirror on the top of the water. The fish notice the spot of sun on the water above and they swim to the surface. Then I just reach down and net them and pull them into the boat."

"Wow! Does that really work?"

"You bet it does."

"Would you be interested in selling that mirror? I'll give you $30 for it."

"Well, okay."

After the money was transferred, the city fisherman asked, "By the way, how many fish have you caught this week?"

"You're the sixth," he said.

Some art is made to look at, to hang on the wall or to help bring a room together. Other art is made to be worn, to hold your coffee in or to simply make you smile. We have examples of both here at AdlandPro.
