Special Prayer Request

I would like to make a special Prayer Request. Almost 2 weeks ago, here in the USA, a pregnant woman disappeared from her home leaving her 2 year old son home alone. Many of you may have even heard about this story in the news…yesterday the body of Jesse Davis was found. The Newsletter Team would like to send our thoughts and prayers to Jesse's family, and ask God to accept and care for Jesse and her unborn baby now that they went to be with the Lord.

Be Inspired

by: Venerina Conti

The soul's journey

In essence, according to the Edgar Cayce readings, the journey and the whole point of the soul is to learn, and grow, in order to earn its right to return to the Source and sit by the side of the Creator.

Edgar Cayce’s readings are quite eastern in philosophical thought. He is, in fact, essentially responsible for introducing, to western culture, or awakening western culture to the notion of reincarnation.

In eastern culture, the concept of reincarnation has been around for centuries. The Vedic scriptures proclaim that a soul will incarnate, several times, on earth in order to restore balance within its, very, karmic nature.

In other words it is believed that the soul carries with it its own karma. Karma is, essentially, a concept that adheres to the belief that actions have consequences and that we are repaid with what we pay out...

THE ART CORNER

profile pic

When I first visited Rose, Jenny and Venerina's 14th Art
Exhibition
I was positively awestruck by Mary Macintyre's ability to get images
that look as if they are lit from within. How does she do that? A single
flower in the shade with the yellow flower so brilliantly lit, thunder clouds
in a New Mexico skyline with no evidence of sun at all, but still backlit in
such a magical way - I must have gone back a half dozen times just to check
it out again.

Mary lives in New Mexico and clearly loves many moods she finds expressed
there. Even her words express this. Here is a quote from her accompanying
text: "All the pictures are not of spring but embrace the ecstasy of life
surging wildly forth, and the joy of finding new ideas, hope, and rebirth
after hard times."

Her website is currently under re-construction, but she also has an excellent
display at her Bizzyblogs site. And by the way, her prices are most
reasonable. I understand she has CD's with 50 photos that she sells for $15.
What a great collection of screensavers or wallpaper that would make!

You can see Mary's gallery of photos here.

I might also mention that Rose, Jenny and Venerina who bring us these
exhibits also have their own sights showing their artwork. You can find Rose's here, Jenny's here, and Venerina's here.

THE POETRY CORNER

profile pic

The Poetry Corner is featuring a newer member of our Community. I am
featuring Mrs Annie Marion this time around. Annie is such a lovely lady and I
really enjoyed Interviewing her and asking her about her writing.

Here is the Interiew I had with her;

Q) Hi Miss Annie! I have enjoyed reading some of your poetry! Can you please
tell us when you first started writing poetry, and what got you started writing?

A) I first started writing when I was about 20, I guess. It was off and on,
though. Then in 2006, I was bitten again by the writing bug, and I have plowed
into writing in earnest. Not just poetry, but children's books, as well. I am
64, and wanted to have an income, as I get along in years and become more
and more unable to move about on my own. My SS is not all that great, and a
residual income would be nice. In addition, I love words, and have a very
vivid imagination. I feel that I need to put it to good use.

Q) Where do you get your inspiration from Annie to write your poems? What
inspires you?
A) My inspiration comes from my memories of the many places I've been and the
many events throughout, and in, my life, as well as from Divine Inspiration.
I am a missionary, and I work with children. I have seen the rich, the poor,
the suffering. I have seen much, and I feel the need to express those things
in words...so that other's eyes and hearts may be opened. So, each piece I
write can be viewed in different ways....in other words...I write to give you
room for thought. All my work is simple, and is meant to be read as the
individual heart sees. So, a lot of it is not in the "poetry set forms." The
piece I am sending follows. It is a simple piece...read with your heart! As
a note..I have read this piece over several times, and I see something new
each time.

DEVINE INSPIRATION

She Sat and She Watched On the curb of a sidestreet, now littered with trash,
she sat and she watched... remembering a life now past.
She sat and she watched, (this child so fair)-
through sky-blue eyes, filled with deepest despair.
She looked out of sad eyes at the littered ground;
at the mice and the bugs that were crawling around.
She sat, gripping her doll; watching, as people passed by.
They were in a hurry, it seemed. They ignored her sad sigh.
Alone and afraid, she felt abandoned and small.
She mattered to no one, after all.
Suddenly she lifted her head, and shyly she smiled-
as a Hand reached out gently and touched her....
bringing comfort to the child.
She snuggled contentedly, into that Hand;
that was lifting her off to some far-away land.
Now, she sits and she watches, from a far sweeter place.
No more fear, no more hurt! A soft glow surrounding her clean sweet face.

one of your lovely poems with us. I really enjoyed reading your poetry. If

Visiting A Barber

A man enters a barber shop for a shave. While the barber is foaming him up, he mentions the problems he has getting a close shave around the cheeks.

"I have just the thing," says the barber taking a small wooden ball from a nearby drawer. "Just place this between your cheek and gum."

The client places the ball in his mouth and the barber proceeds with the closest shave the man has ever experienced. After a few strokes the client asks in garbled speech.

"And what if I swallow it?"

"No problem," says the barber. "Just bring it back tomorrow like everyone else does."

FEATURED FORUM

profile pic

One of the longest running forums here at AdlandPro is hosted by none
other than our owner and CEO, Bogdan Fiedur. For the past two and a half
years, Bogdan has taken time out of his day almost every day to find for us
an uplifting quote and then send it out in his forum, Quote of the Day.

I often visit this forum during my coffee break as it gives me something to
think about other than my daily "to do" list. I was curious about how
Bogdan viewed this forum, so I asked him. His response really gave me
insight into just what makes him such a successful person. Here is his
response.

Q.) I know that your Quote of the Day forum has been going on for some
time, but could you tell us what gave you the idea to start it and how you
see it evolving over time?

A.) The forum originated as an idea to inspire and motivate. When words
come from a successful person, there is less resistance on the part of the
reader. When a person is feeling down it is sometimes enough to show
them that successful people had the same feelings and it was a matter to
overcome them in order to become successful.

I have benefited myself greatly from reading those quotes and learned that
what most people consider as difficulties, it is just an opportunity dressed
in work clothes.

We have to get to the bottom of every problem to change it into success.
Those who face problems as opposed to run from them, eventually appear
like winners because most people gave up on them. Most people choose
less risky and less involving solutions.

The forum itself has no interaction on my part but usually receives 2-3
pages of responses each day from those who want to comment on this. It
only takes about 30 seconds to read each quote but it makes a lot of
difference in how we look at the challenges that day. It works for me.

Q.) Do you have a favorite quote, and if so, can you share it with us along
with the reason why?

A.) There are lots of quotes which I really like but here are two which come
to my mind.

"A successful person is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks
that others throw at him." - David Brink -

"When one door closes, another door opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the ones which open for us." - Alexander Graham Bell, inventor

Q.) How has this forum contributed to your experience here at AdlandPro?

It obligates me almost each day to find something interesting I can post
and at the same time enables me to read various quotes myself before I
decide on the right one. Reading quotes like these myself almost every day
gives me needed inspiration and motivation to tackle my own challenges.

Q.) Is there anything you'd like to add about your forum or your
experience here at AdlandPro?

Being owner of Adlandpro I can say that it has been a great ride for me
to arrive with my ideas to where I'm right now.

When moving my business one month ago to a new location I found a piece
of paper on which I wrote in 1995 where I will be in terms of my business
and what I will do. At that time I didn't have any business and Internet
was just starting. It was 4 years after I immigrated to Canada and I had
just finished a Bachelor of Computer Science at U of M. Guess what? The
majority of my plans materialized.

I was planning to have an Internet company which would make several
millions. I remember that I had created a mental image of the tallest
building in Winnipeg and have imagined the logo of my company on top of
it. The building still has no my logo on it but probably due to my own error.I had given myself 30 years to do it. Now I have revised my goals and have cut down time to 4-5 years for my sign to show up on that building. I also wrote my new goals which I will keep just for myself for now.

If I could advise anything to anyone, then listen to this. Keep dreaming and keep your dreams big. There is no limitation to how big your dreams can be. The best part is that if you dream long enough, they will materialize every time. You have to dream for as long as they will feel like a real thing and then things happen.

Write your dreams on paper. The Universe really likes people who are
committed and serious about their plans. It gives them always what they
ask for.

CAUTION...Be careful what you ask for.

Bogdan

Thanks so much, Bogdan for taking the time to share your thoughts with us.
You can check out or join Bogdan's forum, here.
