I received a wonderful letter from MR BILL VANDERBILT for the prayer request we had put out for him, Ally & Baby Savannah. Here is what Bill had to say;

Greetings Adlanders

I would just like to take a moment a thank the AdlandPro Administration and the Newsletter Staff for providing us with a great place to socialize, promote our businesses and make friends. The opportunity to exchange ideas and even cultures with people from all over the world is a very special concept and nowhere can you do this better than right here at AdlandPro.

I would particularly like to thank Marilyn and the Newsletter staff for the prayer request that they published for Ally, myself and our new baby on the way. As you have been informed, Ally has been having some difficulty with premature labor but the real threat to the baby's health is over now. Ally has past the critical 36 week point and the Dr says there should be no complications having a normal, healthy birth of our new baby. So, all I can say is thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers and I will keep you posted on the progress of our pregnancy.

Thanks Again Everybody and many blessings to you all.

Sincerely,

Bill, Ally, Summer and Baby Savannah

Thank you for the great letter Bill! It is always a pleasure for the Newsletter Team to share and care about all of our AdlandPro friends and family.

PRAYER REQUESTS

We have a couple of prayer requests that we need to send out. The Newsletter Team would like to send our thoughts and prayers to HELEN PROWD

Helen is suffering from a serious illness so ask God to lay His hands on her and to heal her and do His will.

Also, PAULINE RAINA will be traveling on the 20th of this month and we pray that God will watch over her and keep her safe while she is away from her home. We also pray that Pauline's Dad will be okay while she is away.

Be Inspired

by Drª Venerina Conti

According to the Edgar Cayce readings, what is the essence of the spiritual path for each soul? In other words, what is the journey of the soul?

Well, in essence, the journey and the whole point of the soul is to learn, and grow, in order to earn its right to return to the Source and sit by the side of the Creator.

Edgar Cayce’s readings are quite eastern in philosophical thought. He is, in fact, essentially responsible for awakening western culture to the notion of reincarnation.

THE POETRY CORNER

profile pic

You know, I just love reading poetry! I was very impressed though with this next person that I am featuring here In the Poetry Corner, because she truly has an innate talent. I am referring to none other than our very own MS TERRY GORLEY.

I had the pleasure of Interviewing Terry to find out more about her poetry writing and here is what she had to say to me;

Q.) Terry, I just love the poems that you write. I was wondering, along with our readers, when did you first start writing, and what made you start writing poetry?

A. I started writing poetry back in the early 70's mostly as way to express my feelings. They tended to have a negative tone to them.

In the early 80's I began entering poetry contests. I received minor awards, have several published and a few accepted for the "Sounds of Poetry."

After being diagnosed in 1989 as being Bi-polar (an "in between" ... long story) going through the years of 'ell with Depression, mood swings and the side effects of medications, in 1994 I sought the help of a psychologist and learned about my illness, but more importantly I learned about myself.

My writing now reflects a more positive attitude. I see my writing, especially my "Specialisms" as a gift for having endured the years of Depression.

Q.) I am sorry to hear about all the trials and tribulations that you have been through. Depression is not an easy thing to deal with. So, where do you get your inspiration from for all your writings? There is so much feeling in the poems that I have read…I often wonder what inspires you to write a particular poem.

A. My inspiration comes mostly from my own personal feelings, people, words or phrases and nature. I'm more inspired when I'm on the "high" side of my bi-polar moods or when I've turned the corner from a very low period.

Thank you very much Terry for answering a couple questions for all of us. You are such an inspiration to us all. I want to thank you for allowing us to Interview you and to feature you here in our Newsletter. It has been my pleasure for sure.

Here is a poem of Terry's that she has entitled "Solicitude", I hope you all enjoy it!

Solicitude
A fantasy of frivolous thinking,
Fragmented thoughts
Inspired by imprinted pictures;
Memories,
Clear as the bluest sky,
Cloudy as an English day,
Obscure in their reality;
A mirage
To contemplate,
To complicate,
To corner a feeling,
To drown in
Or a simple place to hide ...
To seek ... to find ... to understand
You.

Jokes

Car sale

Judi tried to sell her old car. She was having a lot of problems selling it, because the car had 250,000 miles.

One day, she told her problem to a friend she worked with at a salon. Her friend told her, "There is a possibility to make the car easier to sell, but it's not legal."

"That doesn't matter," replied Judi, "if only I can sell the car."

"Okay," said Judi's friend. "Here is the address of a friend of mine. He owns a car repair shop. Tell him I sent you and he will turn the counter in your car back to 50,000 miles. Then it should not be a problem to sell your car anymore."

The following weekend, Judi made the trip to the mechanic. Two weeks later the friend asked Judi, "Did you sell your car?"

"No," replied Judi, "why should I? It only has 50,000 miles on it!"

A mother and a daughter are shopping in the mall, when the mother eyes an expensive fur coat. "This year," she says, "I think that I will buy my present instead of making you and dad shop for me." The daughter nods in agreement. "And I think this fur coat would be perfect too."

The daughter protests, "But mom, some helpless, poor creature has to suffer so that you can have this."

"Don't worry honey," says the mother, "your father won't get the bill for a couple of weeks."

A good friend of mine warned me that, as my three daughters became old enough to date, I'd disapprove of every young man Who took them out.

But when the time came, I was pleased that my friend's prediction was wrong. Each boy was pleasant and well mannered.

Talking to one of my daughters one day, I said that I liked all the young men she and her sisters brought home.

"You know, Dad," she replied, "we don't show you everybody."

Two elderly women were fussing about their husbands over tea one day.

"I do wish my Leroy would stop biting his nails. That makes me terribly nervous!" the first one said.

"Oh, my Elmer used to do the same thing," the other woman commented. "But I broke him of that habit real quick."

"What did you do?"

"I hid his teeth!"

* * * *THE ART CORNER* * * *

Well I wasn't a bit surprised when I heard that Rose, Jenny and Venerina's forum, Art Exhibitions at AdlandPro won the Best Forum of the Month Award last month.

Every three weeks there is a new exhibition in this forum, each one showing a different person's work, each beautifully displayed, each giving us a glimpse of yet another example of the huge and diverse reservoir of talent we have right here at AdlandPro.

The 15th Art Exhibition is no exception, and it is special in its own way because it features one of its creators, Jenny's own creations. Jenny has been called "The Angel Lady" and for good reason. Have you seen her work? She paints everything from cherubs to nativity scenes and many are displayed here.

Jenny started painting these angels for a charity event and they were so popular that it has turned out to be a full time business. The figures are simply delightful and can be purchased from her website, "Alas Y Cia", the English version of which can be seen here. If you are lucky enough to live in or near Granada, Spain, you can even find information here about her workshops and craft directories for the area.

Congratulations, ladies for your well-deserved forum award! You can visit The 15th Art Exhibition of Jenny's work here, and if you'd like to invite Jenny to be a friend, click here.

Let's say you are having a bad morning. The clothes you wanted to wear are wet in the washer because you forgot to put them in the dryer last night when your friend stopped by, the phone rings just as you are getting out of the shower, your computer gets stuck in the middle of booting up, and you have just figured out that you are out of coffee - you know, one of those everything-that-can-go-wrong-does sort of mornings.

Well, relax, try a cup of tea for a change, reboot the computer, and go straight on over to Marion Tucker's Something to Make You Smile Forum.

You deserve a good laugh about now, and take your pick. There are lots of stories and jokes to choose from. Like frogs? Click on Frog Story. And what's this? Roses and Hanging Baskets? Now, isn't that better?

I've enjoyed this forum for quite a while now, but I wondered what Marion thought about it so I asked. Here's our conversation.

Q. I've visited your Something To Make You Smile forum many times and was wondering what gave you the idea to start it and how it has added to your experience here at AdlandPro..

A. I started this forum to take some of the dullness out of all the business being conducted here. It does get monotonous and boring being all work and no play. Being able to put a smile on someones face and cheer the place up a bit was what made me do this forum. Come visit and see. :-)

Q. Do you have any advice for people just thinking about starting up a forum on how to make it successful over time?
A. It is hard to say what kind of forum will be successful here. I would say things that are either helpful or relieve a bit of stress are the best ones to try for. Not just a bunch of hype!

Q. Is there anything you'd like to add about your forum or your experience here at AdlandPro?

A. I try making my "Something To Make You Smile" forum entries something I think different types of people will enjoy which is very hard to do. I usually end my forums by closing with "Blessings" and my name so when I put in a somewhat bolder joke, there was someone that was not happy and told me so in there. I believe God has a sense of humor though and I don't think he would mind if I don't stick to just religious jokes and stories. I never mean to offend anyone and put these jokes or stories in there without ill will toward anyone. When you get fussed at, it does tend to put a damper on the spirit of things. Guess we cannot please everyone. My experience all in all with AdlandPro had been good. Heck, I have been here long enough. LOL!

Lots of Blessings,

Marion
