Editor's Comments

Barry Scott -Digest Editor

Did anyone get taken for a ride today being April Fool's Day? It seems to be somewhat of a lost art form, I don't hear about the pranks as much. I can remember getting nailed by those who remembered and as usual I had forgotten the date. I had a few good ones pulled on me, I think my favorite was some one handed me a message that a Mr. Lyon had called me, of course I called right away. The lady that answered was quite nice and politely explained to me that he was eating because it was feeding time, I was taken aback from those comments and then asked her to repeat the name of the company, she laughed and told me it was our local zoo! She told me that she had about 10 calls with the same prank that day and in fact she wasn't bothered by all the calls, she just played along more as each call came in. She didn't say it in so many words but I think she could see the embarrassment in their voices when the callers realized where they had called.

It can be aggravating at first, but it does bring brevity to the day and most of the time  you get a good quiet laugh to yourself.

"Laugh, and the world laughs with you; weep, and you weep alone." - Ellen Wheeler Wilcox

What is Web 2.0?

By Kevin Lynch

According to Wikipedia (which itself is a Web 2.0 application)

"Web 2.0 is a trend in the use of World Wide Web technology and web design that aims to facilitate creativity, information sharing, and, most notably, collaboration among users. With these advanced capacities, a second generation of web-based communities and hosted services, such as social-networking sites, wikis, blogs, and folksonomies, are evolving. As emphasized in Wiki's definition the most prominent feature of Web 2.0 applications is the ability to have interaction and collaboration among users.

Some of the most prominent Web 2.0 sites would include Myspace, which rumor has it receives an amazing 50,000,000 plus hits per day, Facebook and YouTube. Those are some of the well known sites but there are also millions of others that allow for the user collaboration including blogs, forums, and the social networking sites such as Stumbleupon and Digg.

What is really great about the Web 2.0 applications is the fact that they can help your online business, help you get more traffic and the best part of all, you can do it for free.

You can post links back to your website and post reviews about your business, you can elicit feedback and promote yourself or your business in a myriad of different ways. It's just a matter of how creative can you get. You can start discussions in forums, start a blog to promote your business and submit your site and others to the social networking sites.

Essentially as you get more and more people to see, hear, learn about and even discuss your business, the more chance you have at getting more and more traffic. And the key to any business be it online or a brick and mortar shop is to attract more and more customers. That is why using the power of Web 2.0 can benefit your business beyond the normal advertising means.

The boundaries of Web 2.0 are only limited by your own imagination.

Adlandpro Tips

Some detail into Adlandpro's products and services for the new or experienced user.

Common Technical Questions

What URL are you asking for?

Your affiliate link is the web site address of the page on which you have placed your affiliate link?  Once you have placed your affiliate link code onto a page, it is the address of that page which you must submit to our system for approval.  The link is then verified either manually or automatically and provided the link is correct, as it should be if you copied and inserted the code exactly) then you will be approved.

Please note:  This does not necessarily have to be the website which you are promoting.  It can also be your Community Web Page, your Adlandpro Free Webpage if you signed up for and built one, or any other page on the internet.  The main thing is that your link must be there.

If you have any questions regarding email notifications or if we can help in anyway please contact us.
