Editor's Comments

Barry Scott -Digest Editor

Spring clean up! It's a good idea to do a maintenance check on your ads and account, not just checking the stats, but checking the spelling of your ads and making sure the links are working and entered correctly. This is also the time to look over any archived mail you have in your community messages, do you still need to keep them? It is a good practice, there are times when you will make changes to ads and may inadvertently misspell or mistype into the ad body or URL, which can cause you to lose potential sales. The same rule applies to old messages, is there any need to keep it? Think of it in the same way as if you owned a store front, except you don't have to plant flowers or clean windows!

As always and feedback or questions are always welcome, just click on my name below

Importance Of Autoresponders

By Tristan G. Bull

When someone first starts out in Internet Marketing the first few basic steps should be to create a product and then create a website promoting that product. An alternative to that is to promote affiliate products, which just means promoting someone else's product in exchange for a commission. A very important part of any successful Internet business is their auto-responder series. Which is a group of pre-made email messages that are sent to people who chose to sign up to your opt-in form.

That is the next objective after we have our website created and we know what products we're going to promote. Some people would think now it's time to start driving or buying traffic to bring our customers to our site. Well you are going to need traffic this is true, but this is not the first thing you should be doing. The first thing we all should be focused on is starting an opt-in mailing list and setting up with a opt-in form or some means of collecting email addresses on every page of our site.

The really great thing about collecting email addresses is the fact that they allow you to develop a relationship with your subscribers, and hence the trust factor goes up and people are more inclined to accept your offer for any products that you might recommend to them. So it is important to provide people who have subscribed to your list quality content for free. The more quality you provide them the more trust they will have in you and be more willing to buy from you over and over again.

This is how the great marketers out there do it, they provide a lot of quality content for free so when it comes to selling a product they have already built that trust factor.

So setting up an auto-responder series is very important and should not be overlooked when you are creating your website online.

Banner Ads - Get The Most Out Of Them

By Joe Hunley

Banner Ads are a very popular form of advertising on millions of websites throughout the Web. Blogs and Websites are loaded with Banner Ads advertising any and every product you can imagine. The presence of so many Banners would lead one to believe that this method of advertising is extremely effective. In reality Banner ads average a 2 percent Click-through Rate, and Click-Through is the "Bread and Butter" of Banner advertising. Thought the 2 percent is not impressive--you can increase the return of your ads by using them effectively.

Avoid Burning Out:
After how many impressions do people start ignoring your Banner? Studies show that after the fourth impression response rates drop, the point at which the banner no longer produces a good return.

USE of ANIMATION:
There is no doubt that animation catches the eye of the reader. A little animation has shown an increase of 25 percent over static banners in some studies.

Bright Colors:
Once again--the object is to catch the readers eye---use Blue, Green or Yellow---they show better response that colors like white, red and black.

Direct Response:
Simply put---tell them what to do--Click Here, Visit Now, or Enter Here--This has shown an increase of 15 percent.

Questions:
Statements and Pictures are not enough, Cause interaction with the viewer. "Looking for Free E-books"?, "Have you Used"---Pose a Question, get the viewer involved!!

Target the Viewer:
The Web is full of places you can target your customers. Use Forums and Blogs that relate to your product to advertise your product. Chat rooms are another example--the object is to make your Site and your ads produce, take advantage of the Web's ability to reach your intended audience.

Common Technical Questions

I want to be an affiliate but I do not have my own website where I can post your banner and I am not sure how to do it?

Becoming an affiliate on Adlandpro requires that you have a web page of your own or at least have permission to modify and add content to. The reason is that in order to become an affiliate, you must place your affiliate link code onto your website which generates a link back to Adlandpro with your affiliate ID attached. Here is an example of what the link should look like:
