Remember the buying and selling does not end on the 24th of December! Did you know that there are thousands of potential sales to be made after the 25th? The day after Christmas for some is a day of recovery but most now look at it as the start of a week of sales and specials and head out looking for bargains. Some look for next years gifts, others are looking to treat themselves and some are just looking for the best deals possible.
Most store front businesses will be having some type of sale from the 26th of December until they can reduce their stock and inventory to acceptable levels. Make sure you compete! You may not have stock and inventory issues, but you will have newer versions or designs next year! You also want people to have interest in what you have available so what better way to introduce them to your product/service. Don't let the store fronts have all the fun, you have the ability to compete as well.
I have received a few comments and emails regarding the 2008 the year in Review. Let me know what your take was on 2008. I have had a few positive comments on this year as well as some negative. The Truth About the Internet Based Business
Opportunity World So You Don't Get Scammed
By Matt Belock
When it comes to the internet based business opportunity many people have a complete misunderstanding about the industry. So many people have been misled numerous times by false claims or informing home business seekers they will make thousands overnight. By doing so it has given many success seeking individuals a complete misconception of the industry. I will come out and tell you that growing an internet based business opportunity is not easy but at the same time it is not hard. You can't expect to join a company and wake up the next day thinking your bank account is flooded with money. For you to become successful and make the money you deserve, you have put in some time. What I mean by time is at least a couple hours a day.
Your business must be treated like a business and not a hobby. You can generate a lot of money growing your internet based business opportunity but you have to stay focused. The work involved with do so is not hard. Being able to grow a profitable business should be a glorifying experience for you.
The start up for an internet home business is not nearly as expensive as starting a traditional store front business but the reward can be just as great. You don't have to worry about employees, overhead, and many other obstacles that come with owning a traditional business. Owning a home business allows you more time to spend with your family.

Now there are ways of growing your internet based business
opportunity for free or with paid methods. Either way can be
very productive. If you are on a strict budget then it might
be best to stay on the free path until you get a firm
understanding of what it takes to be successful. Your main
goal is to get as many backlinks to your website as
possible, and both free and paid services will help. Just
remember free methods can take longer to create wealth but
it can happen with the right determination. You can't go
into this thinking of becoming an overnight success story
like many will claim because it won't happen. You have to
attack your business and grow it over time. You can see some
profits in a month or in some cases it can take a year, but
you have to look at the long term effects that can be
generated. You are in this to succeed.
Growing your internet based business opportunity is an
experience that you will always take with you. This industry
allows anyone to become successful. One rule you must stand
by is that you can never give up. No matter what, you have
to stay focused and determined for the end result will be a
feeling that you have never encountered before. Find the
right opportunity and learn as much as you can. Listen to
your mentors and emulate what they are doing so you too will
be a leader one day.

Can
You Afford to Start an Online Business?
By David R. Watson
So many online businesses fail before they have the chance to succeed. This is caused in part by lack of capital and proper planning. For some reason, people get the notion that they can invest in a few e-books, slap up a website and then they will start making money hand over fist. When that doesn't happen then they may give up for a while until they see another promise of even more money if they just buy the latest secret. This goes on and on until they just give up and pronounce all internet opportunities a scam. It makes me wonder just who all of these people are. This method doesn't work offline so why would this work online? The internet is not a magical place where fairy tales come true. Nobody is going to wave a magic wand and put money in your bank account. There is money to be made online but this requires forming a business. Creating a website and running some ads does not constitute a business. That may be common sense to some people but I'm amazed at how easily common sense is overlooked when people go online.
If you are serious about creating a sustaining business online then approach this as a business and not a hobby.Determine your operating costs. Domain names, web hosting, autoresponders and ads are essential to having an online presence. You may also need to buy programs to create web pages and customize them for your needs. There are always additional costs that you do not plan for. Do you have sufficient funds to ensure you can meet these needs?
Plan your monthly expenses out as much as possible. Make sure that you can afford your new business until it becomes profitable. If not then you could be wasting a lot of time and energy and maybe your confidence that you can succeed online. A final note is not to set your expectations too high. Running a business takes time. We all start with nothing but our ideas and desire to achieve. Take the time to plan properly and set realistic goals on a timeline. When your hard work finally pays off and you get a customer, learn from that experience and duplicate your efforts. With the correct approach and some persistence, you can achieve your goals.

Common Technical Questions
I have an ad running in the classifieds, that was giving me
several hits to my site but now seems to have slowed down,
what could be the problem?
Create three different ads for one website, each with
their own unique heading and ad body but going to the
same URL starts to cover a wider audience. These can be
free ads, paid ads or a combination of both.
When you are advertising you want to set it up like a
corporate campaign. Setting up a campaign can be defined
as offering a variety of looks to the viewer with or
without them knowing this. Remember this; two viewers
can be looking for the same product and come across the
same ad for this product, one may react to it and one
may not, this is the exact reason there has to be
variety.
Another thing to keep in mind is if an
ad is bringing you a steady amount of hits to your web
site and then starts to slow down, consider editing or
just removing the ad. An ad that is not producing
anymore has likely run its course. This applies to all
forms of advertising, how often do you see the same TV
commercial run forever?
