Barry Scott -Digest Editor

Wow! Have the word recession broadcast by the media and watch everyone's posture straighten up, eyes widen and their hearing becomes more acute. It is simply a fact of the up and downs of the economic process and though the majority of people have a tendency to play it more cautiously during these times, the ones spending are usually the ones who are making most of the money during these times.

Simply put, if you are not promoting your product or service, sales will drop. Sure you can offset the drop in sales by spending less in other areas of your business, but where are you going? There is still a market out there that is looking to purchase, it's just harder to find and requires more work on your part in promoting it in the right area.

The money makers are more in tune with spending and working harder at finding where the best places are to promote their product or service. After all if the majority are being cautious and have cut back on promotions they have a lot less competition.

As always any feedback or questions are always welcome, just click on my name below

Sincerely, Barry Scott Editor

Deep Linking Gives an Extra Kick to the SEO of Your Home Based Business

By Juhani Tontti
When you draw plans how to create an online business, search engine marketing is one of the most effective strategies, maybe the best one. It is vital, that you will choose an effective strategy to market your online business opportunity, because your resources are so limited.

This reason raises search engine marketing to the first place, because that offers a technique, which has so many features, which fit to the requirements. A common mistake is that home based business webmasters build back links, which will point only to their home pages. In this article I handle the topic of deep linking. i.e. to point links also to other pages of your site.

1. What Is Deep Linking?

Starting an online business with deep linking strategy means that visitors will visit several pages of your sites and will see more business ideas than just those on the home page. When you use deep linking, you use the domains of the inner pages as anchor texts.

To create an online business by doing this, you will get two major, long term benefits. Your inner pages will reach higher search engine ranking and your site will get more visitors into the inner pages.

2. What Is A Natural Link?

Natural links is a link, which has being created by other people than the marketing team of some site. For instance, if you market your online business systems using the article marketing and readers will click the link in your bio box and land on the landing page.

Now, if the landing page is one of the inner pages, you follow deep linking strategy, and they like, what they have read, they will be very glad to bookmark that page. A natural link back to your inner page has been created!

3. Use Deep Linking In Your Article Marketing.

Many article directories allow more than just one hyperlink in the about the author box. I normally use three every time, when it is allowed. Now there is a great chance to put three domains of inner pages or home page plus two inner page domains as anchor texts.

When the reader see, that three search terms are hyperlinked, he want to click all of them or then some of them. This must increase the visits to the inner pages, plus to increase the SERP of the inner pages used.

Traffic Generation Using PPC and SEO

By Ed Duvall
When it comes to traffic generation, you've got to have a good marketing plan to generate the leads that you need. There are so many companies out there trying to get just as much traffic to their website as you are that you might feel like you could never compete. The truth is that you can compete, as long as you develop a marketing strategy that works for your website or business. If you're not sure about online marketing and what could or would work for your business, consider consulting a marketing specialist or company that can help you out. Here are some options you have that are most common for online advertising and traffic generation:

- SEO, or search engine marketing
- Link Building
- Banner Advertising
- PPC marketing (pay-per-click)

These tools are the best marketing options out there today, and when used properly and in the right combination, can generate traffic beyond your wildest dreams. Using SEO and link building will increase your search engine ranking, which will allow for traffic generation by having your site appear higher in the results page. Not many people look past the first page of search results, so these two tools are essential to successful traffic generation.

Banner advertising is a great way to reach those customers who like pretty things, not to mention the traffic generation benefits. Not to belittle them, but there are plenty of people out there who ignore boring text, but can't resist a well-designed graphic on the side or top of a webpage. These ads are very cost-effective, and can work as long as they are placed on the right websites and in the right positions. PPC advertising is similar to banner ads in that it only reaches a small group of people.

A lot of people tend to ignore those pesky little ads on the sides of their search engine; they won't notice your PPC ads, because this is where they show up. However, there are people who search the internet and want the fastest answer possible and will go straight for the "sponsored results", which is where your pay-per-click ads show up. And as the name states, every time someone clicks on your ad, you make money.

All of these tools are great methods of traffic generation for your website. Choosing which ones are best for your needs will take a little knowledge of effective marketing.
