Editor's Comments

Barry Scott -Digest Editor

What's new? We are running various specials at Adlandpro, some will be email specials sent out to members and we will also have Web Site Specials that would be shown in most cases on the Main Page of Adlandpro "Classifieds" but you may also find them on various other pages of our website. Most of these will run for a very limited time so make sure you check the dates to ensure you order is in on time.

Is there any particular type of advertising like Banners, Classifieds or Traffic Exchange ads that is more productive, is one better than the other?

Not really. The ad's success is based on the ad and product/service being offered. The best way to start is to run it in all the various methods and see what works best for you. Never force an ad, meaning just because you prefer banner advertising you forsake the other methods. Try all of it and track your ads to determine what works best for the ad(s) and ultimately sales, you just may be surprised!

As always any feedback or questions are always welcome, just click on my name below

Money Making Keyword Research Strategy For Small Business

By Stephen K. Halll
As part of my website design business I offer a free website review service to small businesses that are looking to improve their online business results. If you want to generate organic traffic to your small business website keyword research is vital to your success. Finding the right money making keywords and then using them on your website in an effective manner is one of the major keys to securing free traffic from the search engines. However from the website reviews that I conduct, it would seem that this is a largely overlooked factor in online success. So, how can you quickly and effectively determine relevant keywords to use on your website??

How Many Keywords?

Most small business owners that I deal with can come up with 5 to 10 relevant keywords that people might type into a search engine to find their website. Unfortunately these are usually the most common and most highly competitive search terms because everybody in that industry comes up with very similar terms. They are usually very broad, often one word search terms and will be difficult to rank in the search engines for in a competitive industry. So, ideally we are looking for search phrases of 2,3 and 4 word terms. And we want at least 100 search terms in most cases, and sometimes more than that.

How Do You Find Them?

I like to keep the process of finding keywords fairly simple because I don't believe in re-inventing the wheel. I use the Google Keyword Tool, which you can find easily by typing Google Keyword Tool into the search box in Google. It will be the number one result. There are two ways to search for keywords, either by search term or by website. As a preference I use the website option. If you already have a website type in your website address into the search box and wait for the process to take place. Once the list is created, scroll through and add any that seem relevant. At this point in the process I add all results that have meaningful search volume and are relevant in any way. The time to cull the list will come later on.

Find More Keywords

Once you have a list of keywords from the process above, choose one of the most relevant terms with a high search volume and type this into a Google Search Box. When you have done this, choose the highest search result that is commercial in nature. At this point I exclude Wikipedia results, government websites, and go for purely business websites. Type this website address into the Google Keyword Tool and wait for a new list to generate. Your original list will be maintained and you can then go through the new list and add any new search terms that have meaningful results and are relevant.

You may repeat the process again with a new search term and a new website until you are happy that you have a list of a hundred or more relevant search terms. This whole process usually takes me about ten minutes or so, depending on how much detail you want and how big a list you want. I know that there are a number of commercial keyword generators on the market and they have very good features but I find the Google Tool gives me plenty to work with and it is free.

Using the Keywords

After you have your list, you can then download it as a text file or a CSV document that you can open in Excel. I then scan through the list and group together the related terms into specific groups. I usually finish up with between six and twelve groups of related keywords. At this point you have a list of keywords that are grouped together around common search terms that are ready to be used on your small business website. These are the search terms that people are using when they search the Internet for a business like yours. If you want your website to be found these are the keywords that you need to incorporate into the content of your website.

 SEO Expert Tips and Strategies

By Ed Duvall
Are you looking to boost your rankings in the search engines? If you are, perhaps you can benefit from some SEO expert advice. The SEO world can be pretty confusing at times. That is because there are just too many sources of information - the search engines, the gurus, the SEO wannabes, etc. Here are some expert tips and strategies that you can rely on.

Tip 1: Post 100 percent unique and original content on your own site.

Unique and original means that the content must not be published elsewhere. You need unique content to ensure that your website and web pages get indexed in the search engines. If there is duplicate content detected, the search bot may decide to junk your page and index the other one.

Tip 2: Include keyword phrase in title tags and URLs.

There are many things you can do to optimize your site for the search engines. But this is the most important thing you must do. Always include the keyword phrase in the title tags and the URLs. If possible, use a static URL instead of a string. The search bots will find your site much easier to index.

Tip 3: Be an aggressive link builder.

You can build links yourself, or you can outsource all your link building activities. The majority of your time must be spend on building high quality inbound links to your sites. The more inbound links you have, the higher you will rank in the search results. Note that there is really no link building method that is completely free. There will always be some work involved. Consider using article distribution services to build back links.

Adlandpro Tips

Some detail into Adlandpro's products and services for the new or experienced user.

Common Technical Questions

I was applying to be an Adlandpro Affiliate why was my Affiliate URL rejected?

1. Submitting a URL which refers to Adlandpro - The purpose of the program is to divert external traffic into Adlandpro.com. If you are submitting a URL which refers to Adlandpro.com then traffic is not coming from outside the site and thus defeats the purpose of the program.
2. Incorrect or Invalid User Linked - Make sure that the code you used refers to YOUR UserID. There is a portion of the code which appears like "?ref=281002" the portion after "ref=" must be your UserID. If not, this must be changed.
3.Submitting a non-English Character Set URL - Because the vast majority of our user sites are in English, affiliate sites must be in English or will not be accepted. We do not have international subsidiaries at this time. If your site was rejected, make sure the character set is not in a different language.
4. Page Not Found - This is pretty self explanatory. The page which you submitted is non-existent and our automated system cannot access it. Make sure the URL you submit is correct.
5. Time Outs - Sometimes servers will be down for whatever reason and we understand that this happens from time to time. When we get this error message on URLs you submit, we try them once more the day after. If it is still down, we suspect a greater issue is responsible and thus remove the submission from the database.
6. Link is Banned - There are a lot of websites out there which use simulated clicks to divert traffic to websites. We watch for these carefully on our Affiliate Links. Make sure you are not using a site which uses pop-under, spiders, robots, or any other auto-surfing technology to create activity on your Affiliate URL.
7. Inappropriate Content - We will not approve any websites which link to, distribute, or is in any way associated with Adult-Related or Pornographic material, pirated software or copyrighted material, Questionable Content, or any subject or theme which may be considered offensive in nature.
