How long should it take you to start seeing results?
This is without a doubt the most common question asked by new entrepreneurs looking for results to Internet Marketing programs or their own online business. It is a good question, however is it not taking a short cut?
We all want success of course, but we still have to do our research and educate ourselves as to where and what methods will bring the desired results. We want you to succeed, but we cannot give you that kind of answer as every single product or service will get different results based on variables such as the product/service being sold and how the ad is seen by the viewer.
You can increase the odds of success by doing three things:
1. Put together a campaign (3-5 different ads) of what you are offering.
2. Track how each ad is doing, the results each ad is providing is the most important information you will need.
3. Promote the strong ads and eliminate the weaker ads by replacing them with new ads that have bold ideas or concepts that keep things fresh to the viewer.
Of course there is more to it than just this, however this is a good way to start and it will eventually produce results.

Using
Banner Ads to Drive Traffic to Your Website

Banner ads, or web banners, are those rectangular ads that now appear on a wide variety of webpages. You may be most familiar with the kind that flies (like a banner) across the top of a page, but you can buy them in a variety of shapes, sizes and orientations. They may have moving images and text or behave in different ways, but the concept is the same: a banner ad attracts readers attention. It is like a hyperlink and if you click it you are transferred directly to the advertisers webpages. Banner ads took off a decade ago but have been declining in popularity in recent years. Some are downright annoying (often deliberately so!) and as we've got used to them they have become easier to ignore. Though banner ads are now believed to be quite ineffective in some ways that means that the cost has come down. Some are even free and so people are still taking advantage of them as a way of advertising. A well-designed banner ad can still attract attention, get the name of your site or product across and encourage people to click through to your website.
Figures suggest that only about 0.2% of people who see your banner ad will actually click through to your site - and if your aim is selling, that translates into negligible sales for your investment. For that reason, you will need to have a reasonable flow of visitor traffic to make it worth your while. You could always try out a cheap banner ad to see if it works before committing to the concept.
Creating a Banner Ad
It's really easy to make a banner ad yourself. It doesn't have to be moving images and a clever static ad can have an impact. Moving stuff can be more eye-catching and can be done with just about any graphics program. The important thing is to grab attention so that people want to click through to your site. You can also buy templates ready-made or get someone to design one for you.Ads that include the words 'click here' seem to be more effective. If you have something special to offer visitors, such as freebies, make sure that's clear in your ad. Remember that people don't like banner ads that trick them (for example ads disguised as applications) or that take them somewhere that they don't want to go - so be straight.
Posting Your Banner Ad
There are three basic ways to get your banner ad out there. If you want it visible on a specific site, you can approach them and offer to pay for it to appear there. Or you can go through a service that specializes in posting ads on websites.
Thirdly, there is a cheap option. Banner exchange networks organize it so that your advert appears on a site and you display theirs in return. Though cheap or free, this is usually not an equal exchange and you might get one showing of your ad for two of theirs. Also you may not have much or any control about what kind of website your banner ad appears on.
You probably do not want to pin your hopes of promoting your website on banner ads but, in combination with other strategies, they can be a useful and economical way of promoting your website and generating traffic.
