Honey works better than vinegar.

This is an ages old saying "You can catch more flies with honey than vinegar" and it should actually be used by anyone who is trying to be a successful social networker.

When you join a Social Network, regardless of which one it is, you have joined a social  community. You will enjoy a higher rate of success by, you guessed it, "being social". The concept of any social gathering point is to make connections that will further your interests as well as help others further theirs.

Coming into a social network and setting up 25 ads or sending your ads to all the members is not socializing and will not accomplish much, it's akin to physically walking into a meeting for the first time and asking everyone if they want to buy what you are selling. Another way to think about this, is if someone walked up to your face and asked you to buy something while you were talking to friends, would you buy something from them?

I can tell you what the answer is for any community, post who you are, what you do and what you offer. In turn get to know the community, listen, discuss and make an effort to know some of them. It's really not difficult and with a little work you will find your openings for sales and some of the members themselves will even ask you for it.

As always and feedback or questions are always welcome, just click on my name below

Sincerely, Barry Scott Editor

Social Proof - Earning Client Trust With Social Networking

By Warren Wooden
There is a psychological theory that is taught in a great deal of marketing classes that is known as social proof. This is basically an idea that states that people, when surrounded by strangers, will assume that the strangers are more knowledgeable about a certain subject than they are. This is important in internet marketing or other sales-oriented environments because it means that if you act like an expert on any given subject, even if you aren't, the general public is likely to believe you. The key is to speak with authority, or write with it if you are blogging, for example.

Because the internet has opened up recently with new tools in internet marketing, including a world of social networking sites, it's helpful to keep these ideas of social proof in mind. When you are sending out newsletters or posting status updates on your Facebook profile, for example, sound somewhat authoritative while at the same time being accessible and you will earn the trust of your clients and social network. This means that they will be more likely to listen to what you have to say in the future, or click on links that you provide them.

Another way to use social proof in terms of internet marketing is in the emails or newsletters that you send out as part of a marketing package. Be sure to include articles that will be able to speak knowledgeably about a subject. Even if these articles aren't written by an expert, if they sound like they are and are generally accurate; than people will take their word as solid. It's very important not to make up any facts or give out false information, however, because then you are in danger of losing all of that client trust that you have worked so hard for. These are all but a few things to take into consideration in terms of marketing techniques online.

The rules may have changed in terms of how companies are able to reach their clients, but the general rules behind advertising and marketing stay the same. Social proof is not a new idea, but now there are new ways to put it into use, with the new tools of internet marketing. This will lead down the road to greater profits for you and a greater level of trust from customers. That is the best that a new business can strive for.

Small Business Marketing Strategy - 5 Ways to Catch Attention in a Sea of Chaos

By Tom Trush
When it comes to marketing your business, two variables constantly work against each other.

First, your prospects are inundated with information. From an advertising perspective, the average person is exposed to more than 3,000 messages a day -- and most are missed because our society has become so immune to information.

Think about the last time you watched TV, surfed the Web, listened to the radio or talked on the phone. Were you also doing something else at the time?

Maybe the TV was on while you scanned the paper... maybe you browsed some websites during a conference call... maybe you listened to the radio while talking on your cell phone and driving your car...

As you can imagine, this multitasking contributes to even shorter attention spans.

The second variable is unfortunate for you and your business - you're starving for attention. But the more messages you put in front of your prospects, the more you contribute to their information overload.

With everyone's brains so stimulated, how can your message cut through the chaos?

Here are five ways:

1. Focus on "you." Ever met someone who only talked about himself, laughed at his own jokes and never let you utter a single word? Most company's marketing materials are just like this person because the communication is focused on what they want to say and not what prospects want to read/hear. The words "you" and "how to" tell prospects information is for them.

2. Deliver on the spot. You can't let your prospects wait, so give them what they want now. Better yet, provide them with instant value. When you give prospects immediate access to beneficial information focused on them, you get rewarded with action.

3. Engage the senses. Remember, the mind "thinks" in images, not words. So use your words to paint a picture of your product/service in action and the end result it offers to your prospects. Work in fears, agitate pains and then promise a better life in some way. And don't be hesitant to tell a story.

4. Provide exclusivity. Who doesn't like being part of a select group? While everyone else trumpets "me too" promises, your limited-time offer, special privileges or members-only invitations offer your prospects access to something others can only wish they had.

5. Engage and encourage interaction. Prospect involvement helps you establish closer relationships and proves you want to better understand your potential customers' needs and desires. As a result, you gain greater trust and, ultimately, more sales.

Adlandpro Tips

Some detail into Adlandpro's products and services for the new or experienced user.

Common Technical Questions

In my Impressions and Traffic Exchange pages, what is my CTR % and what does it mean?

CTR % is the Click Through Rate, which is the number of times an ad or banner is clicked on compared to Views. As an example 100 views and 1 hit, would give you a CTR of 1.00 meaning your ad has a click thru rate of 1 out of 100 views.

What's a good measurement of CTR % for the Traffic Exchange and Impressions?

A good standard for Impression is 0.25% or better and this equates to 2.5 hits per thousand views. Traffic Exchange has a higher CTR% and the standard you are looking for is 0.40%. Any CTR % over these standards and your ad is producing the traffic and leads you want and expect. Anything less than the standard CTR% and you should consider editing the ad or changing the banner.
