What's the best way to go with your marketing campaign? Should you try affiliate marketing, banner ads, traffic exchanges, e-zine articles, email campaigns, classified ads, blogs, social networking, forums, newsletter advertising, link or banner exchanges, search engine optimization, directory lists or email blasts? Tough questions and a lot of different possibilities. Personally if I were starting a business online I would look at all of these and try them all at least once. If it seems like a lot of work, that's because it is! Starting your online business is the same as any other type of business, success stems from the work you put into it and nothing more. There are even more options than what is listed above and you will find them, however try the above first and keep using what works and do not continue on with what does not.
You can revisit the methods that don't work now and try them again at a later date when you have more time. First and foremost is getting you business moving, so try every marketing technique listed above and that should get your campaign started.
As always and feedback or questions are always welcome, just click on my name below
Sincerely, Barry Scott Editor

Top 7 Tips to Starting Your Business Using Virtual Business
Strategies
By Jacqueline Burgoa
Most entrepreneurs wanting to start a business make the mistake of using their savings, maxing out their credit cards or borrowing from family, friends or banks to get started. The reason they fall into this trap is because mistakenly they believe this is the only way they can become business owners. It is important to understand that starting a business in this new Information Age and Knowledge Era, does not require the large funding previously needed in the old, traditional Industrial Age business model. This means the entrepreneur has the ability to start a profitable and reputable business with little to no money out of pocket.
If you are currently planning to start a business, consider the following 7 tips to start a virtual business instead of an offline one. Even if you already started a brick-and-mortar business, you can still apply these tips to your back-office operations:
- Use cloud technology for all your back-office systems. In other words, use all internet applications rather than technology hosted in your PC
- Set up your entire communication channels using cloud technology
- Set up your entire accounting department using cloud technology
- Set up your entire customer support using cloud technology
- Set up your entire human resources using cloud technology
- Set up your entire marketing department using cloud technology
- Set up your entire sales department using cloud technology

Don't delay starting your business because of lack of funds. Hundreds,
if not thousands of highly successful virtual businesses get started everyday.
In the next 5 to 10 years, all if not most businesses will be run this way. By
the simple act of implementing new business model strategies from the start, you
have puts yourself miles ahead of the competition.
In cases where the business owner fails to adapt to this new information age
business model, the speed to business failure greatly accelerates. If you talked
in today's terms, it would be like using telex machines and telegraphs to
conduct day-to-day operations.
A virtual business allows a company to be geographically dispersed. It allows
it to meet and support its customers wherever they are located. Employees can
work from anywhere, at any time, at any pace; all accessible, networked and
coordinated via internet applications.
You can see an example of a real sustainable, successful virtual business
(100% virtual and paperless) at
http://groupbenefitagency.com
As you can see, with a virtual business, all you need is a computer and
internet access to get you going. Anyone can start a virtual business in
minutes. You don't need major start up capital. You don't need investors. You
don't need to risk months or years trying to break even. You don't even have to
gamble your savings. You can implement sophisticated systems. You can hire the
most qualified personnel from anywhere in the world. Most importantly, a virtual
business allows you the free time to have a personal life too!

Marketing - How to Build a Real Profitable Business With
Article Writing
By Darren K Chow
You can make a lot of money with content publishing. Your articles attract targeted traffic for you, and you make sales online without even having a sales department. But do discern between a money making project, and a genuine business. What are the differences? 1) Ads publishing - You monetize your website with ads (e.g. Google Adsense). You don't own a list of subscribers, and you don't serve customers. All you do is publish content on the Internet and generating traffic. When a visitor clicks on an ad, you get paid. This is NOT a real business.
2) Affiliate marketing - There are 2 ways you can go about affiliate marketing. You can create a website filled with affiliate links, or you can build a list with the targeted traffic that you are getting. If you are just getting visitors to click on links, that is NOT a real business. But if you get visitors to sign up to a list, then you are building a long term business.
3) Promoting own products - You are really developing a genuine web business when you start creating your own products. 2 in 3 marketers don't like coming up with their own products because the process takes time. And some think that it's too much work.
So does that mean that the first two money making models are not good? Well, not exactly. If you can make money with them, and you are generating value for the community (e.g. good content with Adsense ads), why not? It all depends on what you want. However, I highly recommend that you setup a REAL web business with real customers to serve if you are looking for long term success.

Common Technical Questions
In my Impressions and Traffic
Exchange pages, what is my CTR % and what does it mean?
CTR % is the
Click Through Rate, which is the number of times an
ad or banner is clicked on compared to Views. As an
example 100 views and 1 hit, would give you a CTR of
1.00 meaning your ad has a click thru rate of 1 out
of 100 views. A good measure or standard to look for
is 0.20%, anything over that is probably giving you
some leads, less than 0.20% and you should consider
editing the ad or changing the banner.
