Barry Scott -Digest Editor

Tracking your ads is one of the most important things you can do. The numbers are there and these are essential in determining your success rate. When you are running your ads in the Impressions or Traffic Exchange you are supplied with statistics that you can use to determine what's working and what's not working. Even if you are running free ads or Renewable Ads and you have selected the option of being notified by email, you will receive an email telling you your ad had a visitor. This can be used as a stat tracker to determine how well your ads are doing.

We usually use a CTR% (Click Through Rate Percentage) of 0.20% or higher as a measurement of success for Impressions and Traffic Exchange. Classified ads are a little tougher to determine based on the competition in a certain category and the fact that they are amongst other ads. However you can get a feel for this based on what you are up against in the advertised category and country and then make the decision based on that.

Please remember, if an ad is not performing well after a month, its likely this will not change and the ad should be edited or replaced to bring better results.

As always and feedback or questions are always welcome, just click on my name below.

10 Common Misconceptions About Marketing on the Internet

By Yoichi Nakanishi

Here are the top 10 common misconceptions about marketing on the internet:

1. Getting rich quick. There is no such thing as the magic bullet that will make you an overnight success. There are too many marketers who sell you the dream and not marketing. You have to learn the ropes of building a business system.

2. You won't make any money. The internet is the biggest platform for business to market their service, and many smaller businesses are leveraging the internet to live the lifestyle of mobility. The key to success online is to focus, be consistent, and be persistence. The money comes after you provide value to people.

3. Anyone can do this. There is a learning curve you have to overcome. You need discipline and open mindedness due to the amount of information available online. Making money online is a business and it should be treated like a real business or else you will not be able to see the success you thought was possible.

4. Not everyone can do this. This is not true. If you have an open mind and is willing to learn how business works online, there are many ways to get help or outsource some of the tasks that you are not good at. Get a mentor who has achieve what you want.

5. It is too hard. It is hard when you have no clear direction or a plan to build your business. You have to become absolutely clear of what it is that you want to achieve. There are many people out there willing to help you when you get stuck. Plan the steps to building your business and then focus on each step and move to the next step when you are ready.

6. It will be easy. It only get easy when you have built a foundation for your business. You can't build your house on sand and expect it to stand. You have to carefully create a system so that the business becomes fully automated so that you don't have to monitor it 24/7.

7. It will only require 2-3 hours a day. The amount of hours you put in only matters if those hour are power focused on what you need to do. You can be productive but if your not doing the money making task, you are just wasting precious time. Focus on the activity that brings in money.

8. This is not a real job. It is NOT a job. Its a business. A job pays you for your labor. A business pays you for the value you put out to your customers. Online business is a REAL business.

9. The only good reason to do this is for the money. Money is never the reason why people build their business. Money is the reward that follows for the value the business puts out that helps or impacts peoples lives. When you chase the money first, you are setting yourself up for failure. People are becoming more aware of the scams and hypes online, and the more transparent you are in helping others, the money will naturally follow you.

10. It takes years to learn online business. Not true. You only need to learn each step in building your business. When you setup a plan, a step by step action blueprint for your business, you just need to focus on those steps one at a time until you firmly grasp the knowledge. Don't try to get it right, just get it going like my mentor always reminds me!

Recession Recovery Time - Totally Awesome Dude! Time to Make Serious Money!

By Frank J. De Raffele Jr.

Okay, I am not from California so I don't think I am aloud to say, "Totally Awesome Dude!", but it did grab your attention. Here in the States we have been in a recession for a good couple of years. Which means that people decided to spend less money. But now we are going through a change. Change! Did I say Change? I love the word change! Change means that we now have the opportunity to DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT (Do you think those last three words are important?)

Did you know that the business you are in today is not the same business you were in 24 months ago? You may be offering the same products and services. You may be selling to the same target markets or demographics. However, your business is different. What has changed is the mind of your prospect, customer, client.....you know, those people who pay you money. They are thinking about their money differently than they were 24 months ago. They are still scared. They are not sure if this recovery is real.

During the recession they were more scared about spending. In fact, that is almost the definition of a recession. A recession is when the consumers decide to not spend as much money. The funny thing is they were spending it then and they are spending it now. People didn't stop spending, they just didn't spend AS MUCH. They spent their money on what they felt was important, necessary and important.

So, why is it I would go to a new 3D movie on a Friday, which made the movie $3 more, and the theatre would be packed and end up sold out? Are movies a staple in our society like milk, eggs, meat, fish and water? Did I miss the memo? They were there because it made them feel good.

Here is what that means: people are still and have been spending money on your product or service. The important question is: Are they and have they been spending it with you?

Whatever you felt was working two years ago is not working today. Nor should it. You are in a different business because your consumer's mindset has changed. Their "pain" threshold is higher, which means their motivation is different, which means that need greater justification to spend their money with you or anybody else.

The good news.....CHANGE! It's time for you to Change. To do something different in your marketing, sales, customer service, product offerings, product service packages, etc.

Your homework.....DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT!

May I ask you a question? Are you an Idiot? Well, we are all idiots if we keep trying the same marketing and sales that we always have, when our core customers have changed. Yours have. Adapt your marketing to the New Consumer the New Mindset. Stop complaining, just do something about it. We are entrepreneurs, business owners, we are in charge of our destiny. Make it happen!

Be profitable out there, Dude.

Adlandpro Tips

Some detail into Adlandpro's products and services for the new or experienced user.

Common Technical Questions

I had purchased Traffic Exchange/Impression credits and they ran out and now it shows me as having negative credits, am I obligated to pay for those?

No. Our system for both the Traffic Exchange and the Impressions (Banner/Text) display will always overrun and produce a negative credit balance. The reason is that when the system is aware that you account is getting low on credits or you are at a level where it will get ready to stop, but it cannot account for the views that are in the queue as traffic to our site fluctuates on a daily basis.

So your Ad/Banner may be set up to run in the next few minutes and because we are dealing with 1000s of displays per hour the database cannot account for the credits that will be displayed in queue and will run regardless of the credit balance. Therefore the TE and Impressions will always run into the negative which works to the member's advantage as the member is not accountable for overdrawn credits.
