Barry Scott -Digest Editor

Tracking your ads is one of the most important things you can do. The numbers are there and these are essential in determining your success rate. When you are running your ads in the Impressions or Traffic Exchange you are supplied with statistics that you can use to determine what's working and what's not working. Even if you are running free ads or Renewable Ads and you have selected the option of being notified by email, you will receive an email telling you your ad had a visitor. This can be used as a stat tracker to determine how well your ads are doing.

We usually use a CTR% (Click Through Rate Percentage) of 0.20% or higher as a measurement of success for Impressions and Traffic Exchange. Classified ads are a little tougher to determine based on the competition in a certain category and the fact that they are amongst other ads. However you can get a feel for this based on what you are up against in the advertised category and country and then make the decision based on that.

Please remember, if an ad is not performing well after a month, its likely this will not change and the ad should be edited or replaced to bring better results.

As always and feedback or questions are always welcome, just click on my name below.

Sincerely, Barry Scott Editor

What's A Reasonable Amount Of Time To Get Back To A Potential Client?

By Marty Green

As a sales professional, what do you consider a reasonable amount of time to follow up with an email or phone message? We are all very busy each and every day. Not only do we have clients to serve and things that need getting done, we have family responsibilities as well.

Everyone is living very busy lives these days and we are always on the go. Dropping kids off, rushing to work, going to meetings and on and on. So given that everyone is so busy all the time, what would be a reasonable amount of time to return a call or email?

20 years ago, I'm sure it was considered great service if you called someone back within a few hours. I mean we are all busy working with clients. Showing houses, doing inspections, taking listings. A few hours back then seems reasonable given how busy we can be.

But that was 20 years ago and things are much different now.

Technology has advanced at an unbelievable rate. With the advent of the cell phone, customers expectations have increased from their sales people. A few hours in today's world is an eternity and certainly not considered reasonable anymore.

The realty is that customers are gained and kept by getting back to people as fast as possible. The standard is now minutes and not hours. I have had Agents tell me they have lost out on potential clients by taking longer than 20 minutes to get back to someone.

This is shocking, but I do understand why.

Today's consumer is accustomed to an instant gratification world now. Anything they want to know is now at their fingertips. This has improved immensely over the last few years as well. The computer and internet has made us come to expect that any questions that we have, can be sought out and answered within minutes online. Sites like google and wikipedia have revolutionized how quickly we can access information.

Now with smart phones coming in waves, we don't even need to get back to the office to search the web. We can be online all day long. This is exactly what's happening. More than 70 million people are checking their Facebook accounts from their smart phone each day.

Generation Y has come to expect answers quickly and as sales professionals we have to be prepared to deliver or lose out.

So the real answer is minutes and even more correctly, the less time it takes you to get back to a potential client the better! 10 to 15 minutes Maximum is what's expected these days and for some that is even a long time!

So make sure you have a decent phone with email capabilities and be very conscious about getting back to potential clients as quickly as possible. It may just be your next big deal!

Do you think customers are being unreasonable expecting immediate call backs? Do you have an understanding with your current clients that they wont get a call back right away? Are they ok with that?

Let me know!

Marty Green

Work From Home Business - How To Set Up A Slide Master In PowerPoint

By Nina E Poeton

Starting your video marketing campaign for your work from home business can be quite daunting if you are new to slide show presentation software, or, if you need to brush up on your skills. In this article, you will learn the basics steps to setting up a Slide Master in Microsoft Office PowerPoint.

Although it sounds like a character from Star Wars, a Slide Master is in fact a template in Microsoft Office PowerPoint, which stores information about the layout of your presentation.By customising the Slide Master in PowerPoint, you can then use this template for every slide in your slide show presentation. Although it doesn't sound very exciting, learning the basics will save you a lot of time when making a slide show presentation video for your work from home business.

Let's Open Up PowerPoint And Get Started

Click on "View" on your toolbar at the top of the screen and then go to "Slide Master", which is the 5th icon from the left. This will open the Slide Master pane on the left hand side.

You will notice that there are a number of slides in this pane, but to keep things simple for a basic slide show presentation video, I use the initial one.

Selecting The Font

To begin editing the Slide Master, you need to ensure that the slide is highlighted in the left hand pane. You can then select which font to use by clicking on "Fonts" in the "Edit Theme" section of the tool bar and scrolling down until you find a font you like.

Changing The Background

If you would like to change the background of your Slide Master, right click on your mouse on the top slide in the left hand pane. Then click on "Format Background" and either choose a solid fill colour, by going down to colour and selecting which colour you would like, or clicking on "Gradient Fill." By selecting Gradient Fill, you can choose a colour and then play around with the levels of transparency, angles and directions to give different effects. When you have decided on your background, click on "Apply to All" and then "Close."

There are many more things you can do with the Slide Master, but if you haven't used PowerPoint much, or you're new to is, changing the font and the background is enough to get your started with your work from home business video marketing campaign.

Applying The Changes And Starting Your Presentation

Once you have made your changes, click on "Close Master View" in the tool bar, which will take you back to the opening screen. You will then be able to see that your Slide Master, with the font and the background you have selected, is the template for all the slides in your presentation.

Now you are ready to begin making a slide show presentation for your work from home business. Click in the middle of your text box and start typing. To add more slides, click on the "New Slide" icon in the toolbar and it will add in new slides from your Slide Master template. If you need to delete a slide, make sure it is highlighted in the left hand column, and then press the delete button.

Easy when you know how!

Thank you for reading.

Adlandpro Tips

Some detail into Adlandpro's products and services for the new or experienced user.

Common Technical Questions

So what is a Spider and what does it do?

A spider is the informal term for a computer program that browses the internet manually, usually to index pages for a search engine. Web spider, crawlers or bots are all the same thing. It will read a page, collect something specific about that page (what it is designed to collect) and or verifies URL links on a website. The process is called web crawling or spidering.

Many sites and search engines will use spidering to collect and provide up-to-date information. Web crawlers are mainly used to create a copy of all the visited pages for later processing by a search engine that will index the downloaded pages to provide fast searches.

Crawlers can also be used for automating maintenance tasks on a Web site, such as checking links or validating HTML code, like the Adlandpro affiliate link on your website. Crawlers can be used to gather specific types of information from Web pages. Given enough time and enough spiders, a search engine can index the  contents of the internet. This is exactly how Google, MSN Live Search,Yahoo etc...extract information and index it.
