I do have a webstie and even I have web presence.
In fact my site generates significant website traffic.
And I believe that you could learn a little bit if you would read
some of the letters you subscribed to, before you fire your blind responses.
How do you expect anybody to do business with you if you don't even read
messages which you agreed to recive.

I doubt that you will ever read this part of the letter since you chose wrong
way of marketing and before you learn anything you will loose your internet
account and conclude that internet is only hype.

To all who read this part:

You might wonder why I even respond here if I don't think Jason will read this.
I hope that those who read it and are not sure if what Jason is doing

How To Get Top Search Engine Rankings With Doorway Pages!

We are talking about being listed on the first couple pages the search
engines pull up ......and you can do it! You can even be #1
with very little effort.

A hot issue on the internet is doorway pages. These are also known as
gateway pages, bridges along with a few other similiar terms. You can see an
example of one of our doorway pages by doing a search on Infoseek. Just type
in 'placing free classified ads'. You will find our doorway page as the
number one listing. We have lots of listings that hit in the top ten and I
have only been online 6 month with no prior computer experience. Anyone can
make doorway pages that pull high on the search engines!

Until recently, some people associated doorway pages with spamming....not
anymore! State Farm Insurance, the leading US auto insurance firm has been
using doorway pages to generate an extra 100,000 unique visitors in 11
months. They were featured in
Search Engine Watch about their use of doorway pages along with a response
from search engine executives. It is reported that they have no problem with
the use of doorway pages as long as you do not promote keywords or phrases
that have nothing to do with your website content.

Doorway pages are very short pages that direct the searcher to your web
page. Because doorway pages are short, keyword density can be very strong.
Here are some simple techniques that are used to get high search engine
rankings when you use doorway pages.
Use your keyword phrases:
1. as your title
2. as your page headline
3. first phrase in your meta tags: discription & keywords
4. as much as possible in your text and at the ending of your text.

Now you have the basics to create your own doorway pages. Don't
procrastinate. Start making a few doorway pages right away. If you submit
them to Altavista and Infoseek, you can find them online in just a few days!
To get a free trial software program that will make doorway pages for you,
visiting our website.

Now you may be thinking that this sounds to simple to work so good but I
assure you it does work. Just do that Infoseek search for placing free
classified ads......the proof is in black and white!

See You At The Top Of The Search Results!

From: Joe Schwartz < varied@countrycool.com>
Subject: Search Engine Submissions

Dear Sir:
Much thanks for the e-mail today on my questions after getting Adland
Digest #121 last week. I read your kind responses to my questions and
appreciate your candor and patience in all this, which, as I said, is
quite new to me. To be honest, I use a new 56K WebTV, which really has a
lot of great features & wasn't as junky as I'd expected.
So, I'm not using a computer, as such and there are some limitations to
how I can use the Net.
The main reason I'm writing here is to give you another e-mail address:
varied@usa.net
It appears that most of your Digest #122 today was cut-off AGAIN on this
countrycool.com free e-mail service. It listed 34k as the incoming
message size, but after a brief part of the Digest, it just cut off & I
couldn't access anymore of the Digest.
I appreciate the explanations you gave me as to the limitations of
Searching for a submitted URL and also of a phone number or e-mail
address in Search Engines. From the low-cost engines submissions of
yours and the free classified ones, I didn't receive any responses that
I know of. Another chap I paid on a low cost submission to Message
Boards, whatever they are(discussion groups?) hasn't yet submitted them
for me. He had to do it for me, as my WebTV didn't have the capability
to do it. I also have been laboring to go thru about 265 e-mail
acknowledgments (ads mostly) for a free FFA submission to a few
thousand. By the time I got to some of the sites to check on my
listings, they were long gone==they must stay up only a few hours,
before they're bumped off!
Thanks once again,

Joe Schwartz

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Note from Editor.
I'm following up on that topic as I believe it is essential for
anybody who starts his/her internet  business and looks for some exposure.
There is lots of confusion about search engine listings and
promotion itself.
You wrote.
>From the low-cost engines submissions of
>yours and the free classified ones, I didn't receive any responses that
>I know of.
There are many components of marketing on the internet and one of them
is submission of your URL to search engines. Also very important element
of marketing is evaluation how well it worked, what was wrong and why.
You say that you didn't get any response you would know of.
This is exactly the problem.
How do you  track effectiveness of your promotion?
What methods are you  using and tools?
I was at your site at least five times when I was verifying your URL
before posting it, and  after you emailed me about being not clear
how to look for your listings.
How did you record my visits?
You should at least record five visits, but you say you didn't get any.
There is also another aspect of being  submitted to search engines.
I would like to use analogy and  compare it to the telephone.
Every business has a phone number.  Right?
This is like having webpage in the Internet world.
To tell people about your phone number you get listing in
white pages and if you want people to actually associate you
with any business category, you list your phone number in
yellow pages.
The same happens when you list your page in search engines.
Now how many phone calls you are going to get by being
listed in yellow pages.
I tell you I have my phone listed in yellow pages
(even bolded and framed) and I  received few calls and none
got me any business yet.
Similar things is with search engines.
If you just submit  your page to them and your page is part
of some other  domain, you will receive  few actual listings
and subsequently you will receive few hits.
In order to make sales you need to receive thousands of hits.
Your listing in search engines is just minimum you can do.
You are not going to be flooded from it but not being listed
would be just  loosing basic opportunity to be visible.
Next step after you get listed is optimizing your pages,
adding correct metatags, content, maybe build gateway
pages optimized for particular search engines.
My site receives daily about 2,000 visitors and only between
20-50 come from all search engines.
If you go  to Altavista and search for keyword Adland, you
will find about 5,000 hits. Go to Lycos search for free
classifieds and you will find Adland as one of the top hits.
Adlandpro used to be for some time first hit at Altavista and Goto
for keywords like free classifieds and fourth  on Infoseek.
Summing it up. Your search engine listings are only part
of the battle. To get any Internet  business establishment
you need to start with your own domain. When you list it,
it will  be yours regardless of what direction you to take.
Learn how to optimize your pages, and resubmit them perio-
dically. Don't fall into ideas of promoting affiliate
programs, without your own presence. Affiliate programs can
only be addition to your business and meant as a  supplement
but not main direction. Promote only affiliate programs
which merge with your business.
Test your advertising on sites which offer such promotion
and track its results by using one of the tracking sites
found on that page.
http://www.adlandpro.com/trafficbuilders.asp
You can start with AdlandPro advertising options, since
we are offering 100% satisfaction guaranty.
http://members.adlandpro.com/Advertisers/Advertising.aspx
Advertise in e-zines which relate to your business and
again track your effectiveness of your promotion by
using special email address or special webpage which
is not listed anywhere else and you expect only hits from
this particular promotion.
You can go even further by using some of the mentioned
tracking or redirection sites which will count visits
for you.
Even this is not all.
What if you buy lots of advertising and get lost of hits
and  nobody buys your service or product.
Is this  wrong advertising message? Is your site
to difficult to  use? or  your service/product is
hard to understand for casual visitor and they
leave empty-handed.
Try to obtain their email address before they leave
so you still can contact them later and clear this
for them.
And most important, read each issue of this digest and
other publications to learn more.
You can visit Adland Digest archives to find discussions
about  FFA which you mentioned in your correspondence.
From: Linda Caroll <linda@swdomains.com>
Subject:THE EVIL SPAMBOT.
Hello Bogdan and Adland Subscribers:
I have noticed that many discussion groups, each issue
contains at least one post about spam or mailing lists.
I would like to share an article regarding preventing spam.
THE EVIL SPAMBOT.
In order to do business on the net, you post your
email address on your website & advertise in
classifieds. Then, along comes the evil spambot.
Trolling along, page by page, the spambot collects
email addresses.
Suddenly, your email address is being used for the
purpose of spam, or worse- sold to other spammers
or submitted to 'targeted' mailing lists.
Ack! Where is wonderdog when you need him?
(After all, on the Internet, no one knows he's a dog!)
What if you don't want to get spammed?  How do
you protect your address from being collected?
The trick is to display your email address in a way
that a that a browser will understand- but that a bot
won't! Bots don't think. They have been assimiliated.
Bots look for the formula something@somewhere
This tells them; "It's a email address. Collect it!"
If you replace the "@" in your email address with the
ASCII symbol for "@", the email address will still
look the same on your webpage,  but the bot won't
recognize it and will just truck right on by, looking
for the "@" that indicates an email address.
How? Just substitute the "@" in your email address with
@
My email address (linda@swdomains.com) would become
linda@swdomains.com
On my webpage, it 'displays' exactly the same, but
it's NOT recognizable to a bot. In the classifieds,
list your email address as:
yourname@nospamyourdomain.com
Then include a line telling people to remove the words
'no spam'.  Real people can read. Bots can't. They'll
collect the address just as it is and every bite of spam
will be bounce right back to the spammer.
Thanks, underdog!  Want more smart tips?
Best of luck with your ventures!
Dear Bogdan,
I have been getting Adland Digest for a few months now and find it
informative and helpful. This is my first posting so I don't know if I'm
including the right things. I'd like to tell your readers about a business
opportunity which I am really enjoying. I have read in your Digest that it
is suggested that people sign up with FREE affiliate programs, FREE websites
and FREE newsletters. This one offers all that, as well as a FREE Internet
Income Course. I've actually made some money with this one, after trying
many others.
The FREE Affiliate program can be found at:
Note from Editor.
Since this  discussion's list goal is to teach and help with marketing
efforts here is my response.
This type of messages usually don't make that far. Because you
made an effort to explain why you are writing  and posed a question,
I'm including it here.
If you would read guidelines about posting to this list, you would find info
saying that no overt advertising is allowed. Your message is basically
advertising of affiliate program which you are member of.
Almost each affiliate program offers "free newsletter", "free marketing course"
and "free website" read "replicating page with no control over it"
All this is meant to promote given program.
You are giving your URL which I modified so you won't get credit if anybody
uses it in order to be fair to other 20-30  Adland Digest subscribers who have
sent me their exciting offers after last issue.
If you want your commercial messages to appear in discussion lists, there are
few ways of  getting  them  there following the  rules.
1. Contribute  to the discussion list with some info and always attach
   your signature  which   is few lines of your advertising. In that list you
  are allowed  to have 5 lines signature.
2. Write article which talks about some issues and use your URL as an example.
    If your article is accepted, you will be able to promote your business for
free.
3. Respond to other subscribers inquiries and point to your site as a solution
    or an example.
Hello to Bogdan and all list members!
My site is currently ranked as #12 overall in the Adlands
stats, and number 29 for August 1999.
These rankings where achieved using 2 pieces of software
that I use and market.
I have made a recent overhaul on the site, adding some
free services and an Adlands Pro page.
I would like a review and the specific concern I am
trying to address is "how to make my site sell" the products
and services listed in my links.
Critiques on page look and feel, navigation and content
effectiveness are welcomed.
Also do the readers feel it is better to focus on
marketing one service or product or is it better to
try and build multiple streams of income?
P.S. I am running a special promo for a free url
submission to 900 Search Engines. See my url in the sig
Two Tier Affiliate Programs - Cash Cows?
By Lou Fabiano, editor Affiliate News and Reviews Ezine
Over the past year the number of two tier affiliate programs being
offered has skyrocketed. In fact, nearly 60 percent of the new programs
we review now offer two tier or multi level compensation plans. You
might ask yourself "what is all the excitement about?" Well, on the
surface, two tier affiliate programs seem to offer the best chance for
online prosperity. You earn commissions on all the sales you help
generate and even more enticing, you earn commissions on the sales
generated by new affiliates you have referred to the program. The first
part of the plan is fine and the foundation of earning money with
affiliate or associate programs, it's the second part that generally
leads to a lack of earnings and wasted effort.
Easy Money
It is human nature to want to earn money with as little effort as
possible. Two tier affiliate programs are so attractive because they
appeal to this basic desire. Why spend time promoting a product or
service when all you have to do to earn a ton of money is recruit others
to do it for you? If you recruit enough people you have to succeed,
right? . The natural thing to do in a two-tier program is spend 98% of
your time recruiting other affiliates. In fact, it almost becomes an
obsession.
Once you receive your first notice of a new affiliate sign up the fever
begins. You start promoting the program more heavily, you place banners
on all your pages and write glowing testimonials and receive a few more
sign ups. "Wow, I am going to be rich!" you say.
The quest for the largest downline has now begun
"All I have to do now is get two hundred sign ups and I'll make Bill
Gates look poor" you realize.
At this point advertising, for new affiliates makes more and more sense
"Its an investment in my future!" you say as you place the orders. And
for a little while it works, the new affiliate notices roll in. In just
a short amount of time the Brinks truck will be pulling up to your front
door. "How am I going to spend all this money?" you ponder. "Hey,
where's that truck"
The Reality of generating an online income
Repeat after me, "Without Sales, there are NO commissions". This basic
fact is what leads to the failure of most two-tier affiliate programs
for participants. Yes, you built up a virtual army of resellers, but
guess what they spent their time doing? You got it, building up and
equally impressive army. Along the way everyone forgot to sell the
product.
This program doesn't work, I quit!
If you and your affiliates don't make any money you will leave the
program. It doesn't matter if the product was a cure for cancer or a
gasoline additive that would have gotten you 500 miles to the gallon.
For whatever reason it didn't work and its time to move on to the next
program. You might have made a small fortune if you had actually worked
on selling the product, but that doesn't matter or does it?
OK, so can I make money with two tier programs?
Yes, yes, yes. But, only if the following points are met:
Choose the product or service carefully. Don't scour the web looking for
a hundred two tier programs to join. A plan that pays 50% commissions on
the sale of ear wax probably won't make you any money. Pick something
you would purchase.
Promote the Product not the plan. Spend 98% of your time on developing
sales not new affiliates. If affiliates do sign up, great, but I can
guarantee you the majority of income produced will come from sales
you've referred.
Support the affiliates who do sign up and properly define their goal as
sales of the product or service not a massive recruiting drive.
======================Joke of the Day=====================
Joke provided by
Alicja Fiedur<alicja@softfornet.com>
Two rednecks decided that they weren't going anywhere in life and
thought they should go to college to get ahead. The first goes in to
see the counselor, who tells him to take Math, History, and Logic.
"What's Logic?" the first redneck asks.
The professor answers by saying, "Let me give you an example.
Do you  own a weedeater?"
"I sure do."
"Then I can assume, using logic, that you have a yard," replied
the  professor.
"That's real good!" says the redneck.
The professor continues, "Logic will also tell me that since you
have  a yard, you also own a house."
Impressed, the redneck says, "Amazin'!"
"And since you own a house, logic dictates that you have a wife."
"That's Betty Mae! This is incredible!" The redneck is obviously
catching on.
"Finally, since you have a wife, logically I can assume that you
are  heterosexual," said the professor.
"You're absolutely right! Why that's the most fascinatin' thing I
ever  heard! cain't wait to take that logic class!!"
The redneck, proud of the new world opening up to him, walks back
into the hallway, where his friend is still waiting.
"So what classes are ya takin'?" asks the friend.
"Math, History, and Logic!" replies the first redneck.
"What in tarnation is logic?" asked his friend.
"Let me give you an example. Do ya own a weedeater?" asked the
first redneck.
"No," his friend replied.
"Yer QUEER, ain't ya ?
