Dear Bogdan. I really enjoy this newsletter. Its enjoyable because its has a
wide variety of interesting stories and a way for people to share what they
have in the way of ideas, business's and opportunities. The concept of
people helping people is really brought forth here. People asking for help
from other people reading the newsletter makes it feel like there are real
human beings on this thing called the Internet.
So many newsletters are just ad after ad of what someone is selling. The
ones with the best headline catch your attention.
Even though people on this newsletter advertise their website and what they
have they do it in a far more interesting way. They seem to tell us a

I would first like to Thank You for applying yourself(s) to developing such
a great resources that has helped everyone involved including myself. In
this article I would like to share some thought provoking points that will
help you in the development of winning Internet Strategies for Success.
So with that let's jump right in:
1. How to make a your web site a two-way medium between the site's
organization and the visitor. Consider that the web site may be the first
contact between the parties and should be designed to accomplish specific
goals with the first time visitor. If an immediate effect is not created,
the browser will not stay, let alone return.
2. How will the site specifically address its main goals of generate leads
and sales. The specific ways will vary from site to site, organization to
organization, but knowledge and development of these goals are crucial.
How effective is your site at compelling the browser to act? ...and how
do you enhance that effectiveness ?
3. A Web site must never be viewed as "completed." It must always remain
current and updated. This is an important method for demonstrating to the
browser that the site is a continuous resource for their needs. Ultimately,
this will drive more traffic to the site and retain browser usage. There
are many ways to do this, but few effective ones, which vary greatly
from site to site, based on targets, markets, and goals. How will you
create a high return rate on your site?
4. The site should communicate directly to the browser. Your site visitors
may search your entire site, or read two words and click away. Is every
single word on every page of your site designed to provoke interest,
allow interaction, and develop the relationship?
5. How does your web site demonstrate to a visitor that the company behind
the site has what they need regardless the mindset of the visitor before
entering the site. Each web site should be created to appeal to its most
targeted market segments and buyers of different interest levels, but at
the same time, it must communicate to every possible visitor directly.
Consider the following:
>Some browser may be ready to act/purchase immediately.
>Some browser may be convinced of the importance of the
product/service but not yet of the company behind it.
>Some browser may seek information on the offered
products/services but are not yet ready to act.
>Some may have been referred to the site but are not yet
convinced of the offering.
>Some browser may have been prompted to visit without fully
understanding the spectrum of services.
>Some browser may be just looking for answers to their
problems/questions without any interest in investment at all.
>Not to mention grabbing visitors who are at the wrong site entirely.
6. Does your web site need to be an interactive experience to maximize
effectiveness? Is your web site an online brochure when it should be much

As you plan the content of your web site, the first question you must ask
"Why would anyone want to visit my site in the first place?"
If the best you can come up with is:
"So they can find out about us," then you have a problem on your hands.
Nobody gives a hoot about you...
You see, apart from your family, your staff, your competitors and PERHAPS
some of your friends -- nobody has the remotest interest in finding out
about you. Your prospects CERTAINLY don't.
They are human. They have their own lives to lead. They have little time.
They have things going wrong. They have lots to do. They have mortgages to
pay. They have endless challenges and dramas to struggle with. With all of
this going on, it is madness to even THINK that "So they can find out about
us," is going to motivate them to connect to the web and load your site!
Give them what they want:
ANSWERS and CONFIDENCE!
Remember this: The people you want to do business with are nervous. They are
about to spend hard-earned cash, and they want to be sure they GET IT RIGHT:
It therefore follows that to draw them to your site, you must position
yourself as a source of information that will help them make the right

Put into practice?
Tell them how to choose wisely...
To get your prospective client's attention, position yourself as a 'how to'
resource. Include information in your site that educates them about your
type of product. Tell them WHY they should look for specific features when
they buy. Show them the DIFFERENCE your product will make. Tell them what
will happen if they buy an inferior product. Make them feel like an
expert... and give them the assurance they need
to whip out their credit card and do the deal.
How do you do this? Here's a useful sequence to give you some idea.

guarding you from the viruses.
You still can infect your computer as from a desktop based
Virus is just an attachment to the email message, which
is an executable program.
In most cases if you don't open the attachment
on the desktop email reader, there is no danger to your
computer. Even if you use web based email, you
might still feel strong desire to open the attachment,
which in this case it will download to your computer
and browser will help you with lunching it by asking
you if you want to store it on your hardraive or
open. If you open it, you executed the program
and you are infected.
I never open any attachments except for images
or text files. I have even hard time to open
word documents. And I never open files with
"exe" extensions, even from my wife. This keeps
my computers clean for years.
Make a rule that you never open any attachments
which you don't know what they mean.
Recent wave of viruses teaches us that attachment
from somebody we know doesn't guaranty that email
is not infected. It almost means the opposite.

Hope this finds you better than I am today. I am usually a very
positive person, but sometimes you just get beat down till you are not
sure you can get back up. I am sure some of you know this feeling at
one time or another through out your online marketing. Any ways on to
the reason for this post. Once again the spam false accusation
subject rises again. I was accused and convicted without even one
chance to know what the accusations were or to defend myself. I won't
say who where or what to protect the innocent. But here I will
attempt to explain. For those of you who don't know me, I am Debbie
Ducker of Ducker Signs plus. My business is advertising. I have many
clients who hire me to do their advertising for them, for various
reasons, short on time, lack of knowledge in where to advertise and so
on. Well this, I am beginning to realize, puts me in a dangerous
spot. Because I post from my computer for so many people (including
myself), my ip number does show up as posting 100's maybe even 1000's
of ads all over the internet. My question is what can you do about
this? How can I protect my self and my image from this and convince
people that the ads are leading to different sites for different
people? They see this and yell spam (although I will never understand
that, spam is by definition email sent without the person asking for
it, not ads posted in legal verified free posting sites and opting
groups and lists.) I have been banned from I don't know how many
ffa's and shut down on two free sites over this. It is insane. Let
me also say that I am very careful, to follow all rules, such as only
posting once a week if that is what a certain option list requires,
etc. I also never ever (and I mean NEVER) send email to any one other
then from my own ffa and classified sites and these are autorepsonses
to those that post, not unsolicited email. So I just don't know what
to do, I don't want to end up losing my internet services over this
and am hoping the knowledge of this group might have some ideas and
feedback on how to handle this. I am sorry for rattling on and on,
but at this moment I am pretty emotional over all this. My whole
career depends on finding a solution to how not to get accused of so
called spam while performing what people hire me to do.

Seems like everyone is always trying to figure out the ""secret to the net"!
But I have found that business is business on-line or off!
The internet is all about making first contact. Once they like you, they
will buy over and over again! But first, you must give people a reason
to pay attention to you instead of to the other 1,000's of offers targeted
for their eyeballs everyday.
I run a consultant practice full time offering financial & marketing advice
to businesses all across the country. But first, I have to get their
attention. So, I use ideas like the one below. It pays them to listen to me
instead of asking them to pay me when they don't even know who I am yet. The
results have been very good.

This is an affiliate site that is just starting to produce for me. I worked
more than 150 hours before making a penny from it and have so far received
in payments less than US$40.00. I posted this site in December 1999. It is
more than 230 pages!
It is just starting to get listed in search engines now and traffic has
jumped from the occasional visit to more than 150 page views per day. And
traffic is increasing regularly. And I will be adding content to make it
work even better, content pages based on activities that people travel for.
I am receiving targeted, paying traffic.
This site is hosted at a free server, but at least I got to choose a
somewhat unique name and URL for it.
Free Yellow must be doing a great selling job. They are always getting new

Newsletters: Your Readers and You

One of the Hottest Commodities on or off the Internet is "Information". In
this age of technology people more than ever want to know and they want to
learn. I imagine you yourself are reading this in hopes of clicking away
with more than you started with. My job as a writer, publisher and editor is
to see that you do.
Newsletters provide you with an outlet to a specific group of people, who
subscribe and read your publication because they want to gain specific
information. It could be Business, Humor or Travel, but nevertheless they
are reading your words for a reason. Your job is to supply your readers with
the information they are looking for. This my friend is sometimes a
painstaking job, with little or no pay and long hours to boot!
This is not a venture to be entered into lightly. Newsletters are not
overnight successes. It sometimes takes years to build a respectable
subscriber base. Cash flow is almost non-existent at the beginning and for
much of the time after that. Your newsletter is an investment in
relationships, or better-called "networking". You must earn, gain and keep a
certain amount of trust and loyalty from your readers.
Mistake: If you think that you own your newsletter, I here to tell you that
you are wrong. Running a newsletter is much like being in a political
office. You would not be there if you did not serve your constituents to
their satisfaction. They will directly or indirectly dictate to you your
requirements in serving them. If you fail so does your newsletter.
Hint: Live up to the responsibility you have taken on. When your readers
bestow that trust in you, there is no better way to condemn your newsletter
than to violate that trust.
Your job is not necessarily to be liked, but to keep your content up to the
standards that your subscribers have come to expect from you. Keep your
information content high and your advertising and "noise" levels low. The
subject of your newsletter will of course dictate the personality of your
As for your Personality in your Newsletter, every newsletter will take on a
life of its own. You must control the personality that it portrays. Be
careful what personality traits you give your newsletter and how much
personality you give it. Remember that your primary goal is to supply
information. Save the bulk of your thoughts for welcome messages and
editorials. Be careful how you convey your personal thoughts in your
newsletter. What could be meant as an editorial thought could be a
disastrous mistake that costs you subscribers.
You will find that your readers will write to you with questions, comments,
and often complaints. Don't forget now these are the same people that
control the fate of your newsletter. Treat them as you would any life giving
force. Your subscribers are (99%) intelligent, well-mannered people seeking
the wisdom of your print. They will express their own ideas and desires.
They will ask you for your input and thoughts. Often this may be impossible,
but one of your top priorities should be to respond to your readers with
honest, informative information with a touch of your thrown in. Keep in mind
that for every 1 malcontented feedback message that you receive there are
hundreds or thousands that are happy, but never write. Think about it. How
many times do you write just to tell somebody they are doing a great job, as
compared to how many times you have written to complain about a product or
service? After your subscriber base becomes very large (that's assuming that
it will), you will find that many of the questions will be similar. For this
you can use a "replicated" or "canned" response. You can save these
responses in a special text file as you create them, and call up the file
when you need them.
In closing I would like to say that it's your job to get "their" newsletter
out on schedule each and every time. Your subscribers will come to expect
and yes, demand their newsletter on time and intact. Consider yourself a
"Mailman". Neither rain nor shine, nor vacation or sickness shall deter you
from your duty. If you are publishing a serious newsletter and are the sole
person doing this insurmountable job, do yourself a favor and get a laptop
if you haven't already. I myself have published from bed with a fever and
all over the country, and you will too!
