Greetings All

Welcome  132 new subscribers who joined list since last mailing.

                                ----===(*)===-----

I would like to thank everybody who responded to my  question
in the subject message of the last digest.
I have received many complements and kind words from Adland
Digest subscribers.
I have also received some complaints like that fact that not all
of the messages are being posted here.

The nature of moderated discussion is that some of the messages
will be rejected or  postponed for various reasons.

In general I won't include here any message which is self-promoting
and doesn't  bring anything new or is not a response to somebody's
inquiry.

Here are some more reasons why post is being rejected:

1. It is just repetition  of what was already posted.
2. It is being sent in html format and it would be to time
consuming for me to extract all html links from it.
3. It has attachments  in MS Word.
    (I don't open any attachments)
4. It is poor quality writing.
5. It doesn't quote reference to the message to which is
    responding.
6. It is just an advertising
7. It goes off topic and it is just rambling about everything
which was discussed in past week or two.
8. It is not about promotion, advertising or doing business
    on the internet.
9. It is not undersigned and "from" part of it doesn't contain
    originator name.

Re: HotYellow98 and other "free" websites.

"You get what you pay for."
How many times have you heard that expression?

Anyone who is interested in the very best bargain on
superior web hosting services should sign up right now
with No Monthly Fees and get webhosting for LIFE for
a flat fee of $200 and an annual cost of $35 after the first year.

You'll get unlimited bandwidth, 200 MB, an online control panel,
Front Page supported and responsive tech support, 24/7.

There's no reason to be paying monthly fees of, let's say
$7.95 a month (which is cheap enough for a kid with a
paper route) .... when you can own your own domain and have
it hosted for LIFE for a flat fee of $200 down and $35 a year.

Don't get me wrong, I began my venture as a webmaster with
a free hosted website - but then, they ALL change the rules in the
middle of the game - force banners and pop-up stitials on you,
wrecking your HTML so that it confuses even the smartest
search engine spyders - and then, when you least expect it,
they'll either lose your pages, drop your pages, or go belly up.

It's not worth the hassle. When you get something for free,
there's no recourse when something goes wrong.

By the way, for those who don't know it yet - having your own
domain, by itself, increases your site traffic tremendously.

For anyone who wants site review - and a nice Award for their
site, just click on through and nominate your site :

My site has been hosted with NoMonthlyFees for almost 3 years
now and I can't believe my good fortune in hooking up with them
early on.  Their hosting service is First Class.

I couldn't agree more.  Seeing these "free"services drop like flies should make
anyone think twice about wasting time publishing their sites with the next best
free site hosting service.  There are a few that are quite nice (homestead is
actua lly the ONLY one that comes to mind), but those that fire up a new MLM
deal around their free sites are setting themselves up to fail, IMO.

Paid services can also be questionable, so do shop around!  I have some amazing
and funny stories on certain domains I have hosted.  I also co-owned a hosting
company and am GLAD to be out of that business!

The best I have found will not listen to my pleading that they start an
affiliate program, but I still tell everyone about them. . . I am a networker by
nature after doing it for so long, i suppose!

I have a bunch of sites hosted with fatcow.com and if you set one up, please
select <word of mouth> so maybe they will get the message and start a program
for us!  Your site will resolve in only a couple of days and they have not let
me down on service, etc.  The best I have found, by far.

Hello Bogdan and readers.
I just love this newsletter. It truly is one of a kind.
I also had a website with MFO & Hotyellow.
I'm so glad I never invested any money in these two
companies. Although, I have come very close. I truly
feel for all the people who got taken by these companies.
We must be extremely careful with who we do business
with. We tend to forget about the scam artists out there.
Can you imagine how many of them there are that scam
people everyday online? There must be 1,000s of them.
Remember that company that was like paypal? They took
off with 1,000s of people's credit card info and bank account
info. Luckily I never signed with them either. I always go by
what my instincts tell me and so far they have been correct.
If you think you've been scammed, check out this site
http://www.worldwidescam.com

Please everyone, always check out the company before you
spend any money. It's just not worth it. It only takes a little
to check them out and could very well save you your hard
earned money.

Thank you Bogdan & reader's for all the tips and tricks
over these past 2 years. Keep up the great work!!

I read that "one of the first" in DHS boasts a four figure check.  With the
number of folks that have wasted their time enrolling, you would think the
checks would be more substantial.  I know to many $4,000 is a lot, but really it
is not worth the time if you are one of the top earners, IMO.

I mean, what is the average income per affiliate?  Not that it was a great
program, but I was making nearly that much in AllAdvantage with just over 2,000
people "surfing" and even that proved to be a total waste of time.  I stopped
promoti ng it after they didn't come out with the "view bar" for so many months
and was SHOCKED they ever did.  I guess I had some players building it, because
most of my income was from the nickels, not the dimes.

After that experience and many others and now watching the futile promotions on
every new "deal of the day" like Visa Retards and GoingP...  I guess the madness
will NEVER end, only worsen.  I really hope people stick it out long enough to l
earn and then continue with something solid!

Hi

For many years I have been looking for a way to increase my income as my family
grew. I have tried some conventional businesses with considerable success.
I then tried quite a few internet marketing businesses, where I was promised
that I would make lots of money very quickly. Fortunately, I did not hold my
breath, as I am still waiting for this money to materialize.

Then I was introduced to DHSC and decided to give it a go, as the cost to get in
was low (only $49.95), the risk was almost non-existent, and I only stood to
lose a few month's contributions of $25 at the most which, compared with what
I lost in my conventional business, seemed extremely reasonable.

This was one of the best decisions I could have made. Not only am I making money
with DHSC, but I have made some terrific friends and, even though I have not met
them yet, I really enjoy the wonderful interaction we have. We have developed a
very good team, that work very well together, for the benefit of all of us.

I believe that I have found the secret to us all making money. Many people are
all trying so many different opportunities that most are not succeeding. What we
need to do is work together as a team, build up a business together. This way,
we can ALL make good money for ourselves, our families and for those in our
team.

Kind Regards
Darrell Driver

Laurie  wrote.

Hi Bogdan, Laurie, and all :-)

I spent a good deal of time discussing Oasis with
a new contact I made, recently.  We both made the
wise choice to leave the same company (we were
"crosssline" to one another) and just started to chat
with one another about where we were "going" and
most importantly, WHY. . .

First, Oasis Wellness Network is a solid company, so
don't let that debate hold you back from success with
them!  As you know, the products are great and the
company operates ethically and is financially sound.

These are big pieces of the "MLM Success Puzzle!"
Compensation and bonuses (both up front and on the
back end) are very important, as are products and of
course turnkey systems that allow members to "hit the
ground running" are another piece of the puzzle.

As many reading this know, most "opportunities" do
not have every piece, making it more than difficult to
become successful.  What many people do not know
is that some MLM companies are set up to lose, for
many "hidden agenda" real reasons that are never
revealed (for obvious reasons).

There are only a small handful of MLM companies
that are greater than 5 years old.  Most of the best
companies in MLM are selling nutritional products.

With the whole MLM "spin" of long term, residual
income, the right choice is vital.  Anyone who suggests
just jumping onboard because of the low/no risk aspect
simply has NEVER spent their time and effort, building
a large and profitable downline only to have the company
fail (or they have and just don't CARE).

If the company is gone, so is your downline!  When that
happens, many drop out of MLM because they see it as
a fruitless waste of time!  Approaching them with the next
"deal" based on income potential must seem ridiculous to
some, since they didn't "make it" in the last one and maybe
cannot see how things would be different this time.

You're "problem" that there aren't many who are "biting"
at the opportunity has always been THE challenge in the
"nutritional MLM" arena.  Even with a $40 qualifier, people
don't want to autoship even the best product on the planet
because they are not yet sure that they will make money and
their concern is right on, since 95% fail (in any business).

I do not think you are "blinded" in this case.  Oasis is really
good.  It just has the same challenge as most.  To most people,
even though the products have a great story and the company
is rock solid, and other important or even crucial details (many
networkers lovingly refer to these as blah blah blah or hype),
the fact is that there is nothing to make this one different!!!

What?  That's right!  Even with all the unique differences, the
masses (what we are all after in MLM) only see yet another
"me too" offer and often, as you are now seeing, say, "thanks
but no thanks" to the proposal.  Online, at least there is zero
"rejection" to contend with!

The solution is getting people into a solid company with solid
products and a system that allows them to get in profit up front
instead of putting the cart before the horse.  Online, people are
not as attracted to nutrition as those companies would have us
believe!

Everyone NEEDS them, but we all know where the mall is, right?
Even though brand x may not be as good as this one or that one,
the fact is that the masses are not yet cognizant of this and most
won't take the leap of faith you have.

A mass appeal, online "front end" that leads to a rock solid back
end that retains customers is a winner. I've found it!

part for all of us is that spamming works. Most spammers get a small dial up
service, spam every one, or worst yet, they get service with Friendly bulk
mail isps.So they lost a small dial up service so what?Look at the numbers
20000 spam emails .001 return 20 sales, the return is higher closer to .02
around 400 sales times $10 per sale=? fill in the blanks price loss of isp $25
net profit=$3975 Who cares!! Hook up with a new isp but in most cases
their isp is friendly nothing happens worst case scenario increase the monthly
fee by $5 to $10 a month.I do not agree with spam but at the same time
I agree with DIRECT Targeted Email. We can do it through the postal Service
Why Not Through the internet?I feel that if the email is flagged Say AD as
subject we should be able to sent it to any one! A person can set filters on
their email account to delete all ADs.Final argument some of the most
successful internet marketers USE SPAM, I will not name them but I am
sure you can find them.Look at your email  "" I saw your ad at blah blah blah...
would you consider...? where did that come from? How did they get your email
address?Email harvesting or List Rental? My solution never-ever report
a spammer,ad his or hers address to your mailing list even if 1 in a 100 buys
your service or opportunity you are ahead of the game Price a few emails
even if they are spam I know that I will get a few angry emails in response

    I'm not with $25 Adventure, but I joined Che-Ching on November 30th, I
got my 5 people within a week, then they didn't get their 5 very quickly or
not at all.  I finally moved to the top of the Che-Ching pile during the
second week of January and earned $5 so far.  Good thing it was only a $10
investment.
Things work on paper, my favorite saying is:
"Put human beings into any mathematical income projection & its instantly
destroyed!"  Who said that?  I did.
You can depend on approximately 5% of the population to work hard.  That
statistic makes itself obvious in everything from business to education, and
everything else.
I have full faith in mathematics, none in humans trying to run a pyramid
shaped business.
The best way I've found to sell something is: start at a low price, such
as $5, then advertise to your customer that they can earn double your income
by reselling the same thing for $10, then they should advertise to their
customers that they can earn double by reselling the exact same thing for
$20.
This works, I've tried it, people buy it.  Doesn't matter what it is, it
seems to work.  The price will top out between $20 and $40, most people don't
want to spend more than that (imagine if they knew it started at $5 and many
other people online are underselling them!)
If things worked out according to plan, we'd all be rich within a matter
of days.
Anyone want to hire a top 5% thinker to double your company's profits every
day? Then of course you'll need to double my salary every day!

Sabien, chain letters of any kind are illegal. People do them in hopes of making
some fast and easy money. I know only one person who has made any Real money
with it, and the program works like a pyramid.. so eventually someone (usually a
lot) of people end up losing..

The biggest problem I see with these types of programs is that they hurt YOUR
Credibility, and Integrity. If you are joining get-rich-quick programs, and then
bringing others in them on the Hype, by the time you decide to Get Serious, no
one wants to deal with you that is in your Warm market because they no longer
trust your judgment.

My advice is to stick with something more REAL. (and a whole lot more!) However,
I won't fill the discussion up with it!

active role in helping to build your revenue stream by placing new members
in your Organization, even if you never refer anyone to the program. The
first 3 members that you either refer or that are placed in your
Organization by Going Platinum(tm) are positioned directly under you. The
next 9 members are placed under the 3 and the following 27 are placed under

To continue with answers to your message: I have received NO responses to
the many emails I have sent to Going Platinum, either about their business
practices, the actual location of their offices or about the spam I have
received.

I am NOT a member, free or otherwise, as I only belong to affiliate programs
that offer a real tangible or virtual product (virtual being a software
download, advertising area, personals membership or newsletter) that is in
actual existence.
As for "bugs in the system" whatever you may call it, this was my
prediction. AND I predict that it will continue beyond the end of January
but that the member area will be restored, temporarily.

Please go back to some of the Adlands previous issues and copy the owner and
website information I gathered for Going Platinum. You'll need it soon
enough.

And I'd like to know what happened to the other "true believers" that first
started hyping this promotion in this digest. There have been no responses
to me directly or though submissions here.
Maybe they found a conscience.

know my Domain name   http://www.scottsroadsingapore.com

What can I do? Kindly help

In regards Shakieb's problem. Go to http://directnic.com and use the whois
database and you will find your domain! Troy and friends charged you $3 for
something you should have done yourself for $15. You are listed in their
database.  I checked it already in 5 seconds

Subject:Gateway pages

Greetings Fellow Adlandpro members,

I used several resources to MAKE Gateway pages, but do not really know how to
use them properly. I'm confused since some webmasters recommend making 200-300
gateway pages, but you can't possibly promote each one. I am assuming you submit
each page to SE, FFA, etc. IS there a more efficient way of using Gateway pages,
other than promoting them individually, as the Gateway page makers suggest?

I have variations such as, gateway pages with keywords pointing to one page,
gateway pages with one keyword pointing to each different gateway page, and
gateway pages emphasizing on your different headings. I also tried to place all
my gateway pages at the bottom of the page and make them transparent.

It seems like they would work if used properly. Thanks in advance.

Hi Bogdan,
I know you didn't have anything to do with
PIYB's ripping off their clients, which I
might add I never did get my money back
from them in spite of many e-mails to them.

The reason I'm e-mailing is because I think
they may be in business again under another
name or something wacky is going on.  If you
click on this link you'll see what I mean.
Do you think it's the same people?

If so, I just wanted to send out a warning
to everyone.

Thanks,

P.S.  I love your e-zine.  I subscribed when

From:Tom Falco
Subject:Who reads my newsletter?`

I have noticed another annoyance caused by spammers.

We have been testing to see if your eZines are being
read. We send all AOL subscribers our ezine through
an AOL account because we are able to monitor the mail.

We can see the status of all mail sent and it tells us
when it was read or weather it was deleted.

Well, to my total surprise, 40% of the emails sent with
our eZine were deleted! They weren't even opened!
And this was just AOL subscribers that I could monitor,
I am assuming the other ISP addresses are at 40%
deletion rate also!

So after getting totally insulted, I preceded to email
a few of the offending parties and asked them the reason
for this. They opted to receive the XpectMore.com
Marketing & Promotion eZine, why are they deleting it
sight unseen?

Their response? "I thought it was spam."

So now I on a quest for the correct way to send eZines
out. Does anyone have a suggestions? How can we
stop the opt-in subscribers from deleting the ezines
without even reading them? We put in the subject line:
"Jan, 15 Issue - XpectMore.com Marketing Newsletter".
Maybe this isn't enough.

It's interesting though, that when I emailed people and asked
the reasons for the deletions, they actually read those emails
and responded! So maybe the solution is to send out each
ezine with the subject line reading: "yo".

It seems that spammers have totally turned people off
so badly that they are just immune to it and in return
are affecting legitimate business transactions via email.

Does anyone else have suggestions or is this just the cost
of doing business? Send 20,000 transmissions and hope
that half of that amount actually read them?

I have been reading the site reviews from this newsletter and find them
interesting. I recently registered my own site. It is definitely different. It's
not perfect but I enjoy it. It's a start.
I'm curious to know just how bad of a review I can generate. I see most of these
people are pretty honest that do site reviews so Please review my site and give
me your honest opinion. I have strong shoulders.

I would really appreciate any help!  I would like to have my site reviewed.  My
site covers a lot of ground, but I think I have it all categorized appropriately
and it seems to be easy to navigate.  Since I am so new to all this, I would
appreciate someone else's point of view.

Thank You!

=====================Site Review Response  (1)===============

Subject:http://www.sharonhartman.com

Dear Sharon Hartman,

Your site is very professional and is good eye candy.  But the e-flash or
video effects are way too much.  The average customer is not going to want
to sit and listen to that whole video.  And after all is said and done, the
viewer is still left guessing to what you are trying to sell.  You offer
more information, but only after your potential customer has to email you.
Many people will not go through all that hassle and many others worry about
giving out their email addresses in fear of junk mail.  In my experience
your product has to be evident very soon to the viewer.  My advice, take it
or leave it.

Brady

From:Edward "Mr. Ed" Mayo
Subject:http://www.sharonhartman.com

Sharon,

First of all, I would like to say that I liked your site.  With so much
blah out there, this one definitely looks professional.  The design is
relatively clean and sharp.  The opening text is strong but could be
made stronger by moving the "welcome to my site" to maybe under your
name.  This text would then flow a little better, but it's still
effective if left alone.  That way, there is basically one thought
pattern developing in that text just left of the photo.  That is what
will draw people down below the first viewing area of the homepage.  I
was expecting less, but to my amazement, I was sucked in and I'm a
battle hardened advertising pro.  Maybe it's just that I saw a lot of
sub-standard sites today, but regardless, it is a very nice site, with a
touch of class to it.

I bid you good luck and leave you with a good review of your site.

Thanks,

Edward "Mr. Ed" Mayo

=====================Site Review Response  (3)===============
From:Tony Murtagh
Subject:http://www.sharonhartman.com

Hi Bogdan

I visited Sharon Hartman's site and would make the following comments.

The first page shows a picture of Sharon and her family and start  "Welcome to
my home page...." My first impression was that I had accidentally reached a
personal home page and had to check the address before scrolling down to find
that Sharon was offering some kind of business opportunity.

There then followed an extremely professional and well put together presentation
that would be ideal being given to a live audience. However I personally believe
that as a web site it is highly unlikely to succeed. The average visitor will
lose interest a long time before the end of the presentation and he will move
on.

If anyone does sit through right to the end, thinking that what is on offer must
be really well worth viewing because of the quality of the presentation, he will
be immensely disappointed ! Instead of a grand finale revealing a great new
programme, he is simply taken to a contact form for him to complete and send off
to Sharon.

So having spent several minutes at the site, the visitor is none the wiser, and
probably thinks that it is just a scam to get his email address!

Sharon obviously has a great deal of skill in the way she put the presentation
together, but I would ask her to be more up front with whatever it is she is
marketing.  If it is as good as she indicates, she should be blasting its
benefits from her site.

Hope the above is of value,

Best wishes

Tony Murtagh
