=================Invitation to Contest=====================
From:Roxanna Bain

After months of preparation, we are ready to begin the most
unique contest on the Internet.  I would like your readers
to be among the first to participate, if you would be so
kind as to share this with them.

The contest is called Cyber SURVIVOR Challenge, and is just
that - a challenge to Survive in an Internet business and
win a grand prize for making it successful.

We have begun by placing 10 Castaways in hammocks on our
virtual Island.  All Entrepreneurs may become Challengers
and bump these Castaways off by earning more money than they
do in their business.  The grand prize winner will take a
trip for two to an Island of their choice anywhere in the
world (within their hemisphere).

Entrepreneurs can become involved in several ways.  They can
become a Challenger and win a Castaway spot.  They can be a
sponsor for one of the Castaways and raise money for Charity
at the same time (see Press Shanty on Island for details),
or they can become an  "Island Spy".   Full details are
available on the Island.

Bogdan, I would like to invite your readers to become
involved and not only  make their Internet marketing fun and
profitable, but also have the opportunity to win the trip of
a lifetime.   This is  designed to be a promotional vehicle
for business builders to give them a strong income earning
advantage over the competition.  They can build teams, offer
prizes to downlines, and get creative with their marketing.

One of our first Castaways will be recognized by Adland
Digest readers.  His name is John Colanzi and he has already
claimed a Hammock on the Island.  I know he has helped many
readers with their marketing problems in the past, so now is
a chance to repay him by helping him keep his spot and win
the Grand Prize.  John may have one visitor per week on the
Island, who will have their URL listed on his page.  He is
running a contest for those positions and you can visit him
in the Castaway Retreat on the Island for complete details
on how you can win (click on his name).

Thank you, Bogdan, for a wonderful and always informative
newsletter.  Let me know if you would like to participate as
an "Island Spy", a sponsor, or perhaps you would like to
start a competition among your readers to see which can be
the first to become a Castaway.

My Motto Is Yours,

" I Will Survive"

Hi Bogdan,

I spotted something in your last issue that may send a few
people in the wrong direction. Here's the comment:

>There are 6 ways to get traffic to your website...
>The sales are up to you:
>1. Search Engines...like the big ones..Yahoo, Excite. You should only

Actually, if you were to submit your site to Yahoo! every 3 to
4 weeks on a consistent basis, you may be banned as this can
be considered spam as far asYahoo! is concerned.

For anyone who would like to read an article on 3 Tips You Haven't
Heard for submitting to Yahoo! you can find it here:
http://www.netwoozy.com/articles/3yahoo_secrets.html Included
in this article is a tip on how to handle being ignored by Yahoo!
editors, and how many times you can submit before getting into hot

I truly enjoy reading your ezine. It's one of the few I savour.

Hi Adlanders,

I thought I would just put my pennies worth in.

I have been working SFI, since September 2000
and so far have had no trouble at all. Fred is right
when he mentions the team atmosphere, we do try
to help each other out if we can.

The cheques are regular, and new plans within SFI
are always appearing' something that keeps the feel

The news is received weekly by myself, and very
well put together.

I have not had any trouble with spam in SFI.

I joined SFI as a member on September 15, 2000 - and have made a
profit each month, including the month of September.

It does require effort on your part - it is not an automatic money-making
machine.  However, with determine effort, and actual work - you can
earn money.

I won't guarantee riches, but you can build a regular monthly income
from SFI.

Thanks for listening.

From:Seqkat
Subject:Six Figure Income

I've been with SFI since last July, and have been earning a paycheck since last
August off of other's efforts in my downline.  You can earn money with SFI,
monthly.  In fact they have revamped their program where members can earn at
least $9.00 every month beginning with their first month.

While money is tight, a great place to post ads is in ezines.  Join ezines that
allow you to post free ads.  Join several of them!  I did, and in a couple of
months I started my own ezine and accept free ads too.  This has really aided my
subscription rate, and helps everyone post their ads to a targeted audience.

You can also make your own website for free.  There are several hosts of these.
I personally use Bigstep for it is SO easy to use.  You do not need to know how
to make a website, html or anything of the like.  If you can click on a continue
button, you can make a website with Bigstep.  There you can promote your SFI,
and you can do your own ezine through them, and send your newsletters from them
to your customers stored for you, so you don't have to type in dozens of emails.

To promote your free website and/or your ezine, (if you can do an ezine, the
better...just do a topic that you are very knowledgeable about and offer to
accept free ezines), submit to free classifieds such as Adland, showing you
accept those free ads.  You will be amazed at the responses.  I find I have to
post every four days, for on that fourth day, my subscribers dwindle down to
one.  People respond to ads about free ezines.

*Note:  Before doing your own ezine, subscribe to several of them that receive
free ads, and get a feel of how they go about it.  You will see each have their
own rules for ad submissions and you will see some publishers are frustrated,
for their rules aren't working for them, (they voice their frustrations in the
newsletters), and you will see others using rules that are working great for
them, and then you can adopt what works best from each ezine to develop your way
of doing things for your own!  Also, be sure to have fun with your ezine & share
that fun with your subscribers.  Fun is fun, and your subscribers will like that
and remain loyal.  I'm very loyal and post good comments about such ezines I'm
subscribed to, and I list their ezine URL to help promote them, even without
them posting an ad!

Hope this helps!  Best of success to your business endeavours.

In His Joy,
Seqkat

Subject:Hotyllow98- Different prospective

Hello Bogdan and all Adlanders,

Well, it's nice to be back with you Bogdan. I have been very busy with the
holidays and yes, I too got took by HotYellow98. Or did I?

After reading Issue 220 and all the complaints that came with it about HY98,
it seemed like a good time to remind everyone that HY98 was a BUSINESS. A
business cannot survive without income!

Sure, quite a few lost money when they shut down so abruptly but I am sure
most of these were newer members. But how about the thousands of people who
had the opportunity to have their OWN websites for years without paying a
cent? Some of them actually earned a small amount of money over that course
of time from referrals and other sources.

How about the ones that made lots of money using HY98's FREE services? Did
they ever thank HY98? Or did they take the money and run?

I really can't answer that and I really can't answer why HY98 shut down but I
am sure it had something to do with too much cash going out and not enough
coming in. A business has overhead. A business must have a cash-flow to pay
for that overhead. If it doesn't have the cash-flow to pay for the overhead,
it makes no sense to continue.

HY98 provided a service that a lot of people took advantage of and were
allowed to better themselves. HY98 provided something that a lot of us would
have never been able to afford otherwise. Please remember that HY98 helped a
lot more than they hurt. Suck it up and move on. If you are going to be in
online marketing for a while, it will not be the last time you lose something.

Sincerely,

Kenneth Hanna

Subject:Stop looking for the easy money

Dear Bogdan,

I have to agree with Liz. Over 95% of marketers,
whether online or offline fail.

The problem is everyone is looking to get rich
quick. They want to make money without doing
what it takes to make money.

It's not the fault of programs, whether they be
straight commission programs or MLM programs.

Success online or off requires a continuing education,
constant testing and more than anything else persistence.

Everyone wants to post one or two ads and watch the
checks roll in.

Sorry marketing online is work and many times takes
a lot more time than your 9 to 5 job.

Subject:Any suggestions to increase my business flow

JoAnn,

The best way to increase traffic is through ezine advertising
and submitting original articles to ezines.

There are over 240 ezines and more being created every
day that offer free ads.

Although free ads won't pull as well as paid advertising, you
can test your ads in the free ezines and pump 50% of your
profits into paid advertising and you'll see a steady growth
in your traffic and profits.

The best way to promote your site is with articles, real articles.
I receive articles everyday and the problem is most of them
are one big ad submitted as an article.

Write a truly informative article with your link in the resource
box and you'll out pull any advertising there is.

A good book for learning to use this technique is Rick Beneteau's
Ezine Marketing Machine. http://www.ezinemoney.net/sgx/d.cgi?1370

Not only is the book an excellent source of ideas, but Rick like
Bogdan and many of the other top marketers online are easy to
contact and they do answer your questions.

John Colanzi

Ginger,

I have been involved with CCC for quite a while now.  I didn't
start actively promoting it until George created the distributor
websites.  Ever since then, it's been nothing but growth!

CCC is growing day by day.  They have been around MUCH
longer than probably 99% of online programs.  The company
was started in 1983 as a local candy shop.  In 1989, they
started selling their products thru the mail.  In 1996, they
became a Network Marketing company to further expand their
market.

This company is doing nothing but growing by leaps and
bounds.  Get in on the weekly calls on Thursday nights to get
a grasp of what all is being planned for distributors.

CCC has one of the best compensation plans around, so if
you're willing to devote at least 6 months to working the
program, you will succeed!

Warm Regards,
Jon D. Atwood

Subject:Autoresponders

Hi Adlanders!!

I found that some autoresponders give you the power to: Quadruple the
response to your mailings -- by personalizing your email messages (i.e.
"Dear Richard"). When your recipients see their names in your email,
they assume that you know them.

Automatically place each recipient's own email address in the "To:"
field of his or her email. (So no one sees the address of a blind carbon
copy recipient in that field, and no one mistakes your mail for spam.)

Filter your incoming email to remove duplicate addresses and duplicate
domain names -- so nobody gets your email multiple times, making you
look like a spammer.

Combine, subtract, split up, merge, sort, and count the number of
addresses in your email lists -- and easily get rid of duplicates! For
example, with Mailloop, it's easier than ever to remove customers from
your "leads" email lists so you can follow up... or remove competitors
from your email list so they can't spy on you.

I found one which even has a feature that I am not aware of in any other
software... as it builds a list for you from your email box (i.e.. past
emails, leads, or ad respondents, etc.).... it takes the information
from the "From" field of the email and tries to decipher the first name
and last name from each email. If it can, it will save first name and
last name from EVERY email you just don't have email addresses, you have
their first name and last name... and it does that all automatically.
You already know the power of personalized email by first name, right?!
This is just one of the many features that we have incorporated in best
autoresponders from a "marketers" point of view (as we are marketing and
promoting businesses every day online) compared to some "programmers"
point of view of what the software should have (a programmer would never
know that these kinds of features are important to us small business
owners).

But watch out not to waste more money and time than you should!!

You can try this one, it's the best I found so far:
http://www.Mailloop.coolhere.com

I wish to all of you prosperity in your business.

Cédric Andriamady.

place for sponsors and are paid per response.  And we make more money if we
recruit ad placers.

Does anyone have any info on Smallbizffa? I recently
joined as a Free affiliate. I am wondering if it would
be worth my while to join as a partner for $37.00. Any
feedback would be appreciated.

I am new to marketing my site on the internet. I have joined the site
fights a few times and gotten a little more traffic, but not much. My
business site is an offbranch of my personal web site, so most of the
traffic seems to go to the main site. I would appreciate a few more
people looking at what I'm doing and telling me if it's good enough to
get traffic.
Maybe I should put a link on each page of my site, (which has about
twenty pages) to the business site. I'll give you the urls of the main
site and some of the others so you can have a look around. Please let me
know what you think. Thanks.

Dear Dave,

I looked at your site and I liked what I saw.  Your first page is a great
one.  You give your potential customer what they want; information.  They
didn't come to your site to see a bunch of flashy designs.  They obviously
are thinking about cleaning some carpet.  You tell them what you will do and
your instructions are clear.  You have three different ways to contact you
(phone, address, email) which is great.  And on the left, all the links to
navigate your site are clearly presented.  It's straight to the point and
very informative.  I think you've done a good job.  Good luck to you with
your business and in life.

From, Brady.

=====================Joke of the Day   (1)===============

After hearing that one of the patients in a mental hospital had
saved another from a suicide attempt by pulling him out of a
bathtub, the director reviewed the rescuer's file and called him
into his office.

"Mr. James, you records and your heroic behaviour indicate that
you're ready to go home." he said. "I'm only sorry that the man
you saved later killed himself with a rope around the neck."

"Oh, he didn't kill himself," Mr. James replied. "I hung him up
to dry."
