Greetings All

Welcome 190 new subscribers who joined list since last mailing.

----===(*)===-----

After Melanie's post about three issues ago, we had several other
subscribers voicing their opinions about the content of the Digest
recently and it became apparent to me that something has to be
done about it.

Since we seem to have two camps of subscribers interested in
topics which might be of no interests to the other group, I
have decided to run two versions of Digest starting with the
next issue.

I will duplicate this subscriber list and will notify about it all
subscribers with special mailing. You will have option to remove
yourself from the second list.
This second list will be discussions about programs only (mlm or not).
In essence this will be discussion as always but who won't like the version of
Adland Digest regarding programs will have option to
unsubscribe and still receive regular Adland Digest as it was
when it started. It will only concentrate on advertising promotion,
and will contain interesting articles.

I hope this will make everybody happy.

From:Linda Caroll
Subject:Adland Digest Has Changed

Dear Bogdan and Adland Subscribers;

Firstly, Bogdan, I apologize in advance for the length of
this post. I usually make them shorter. I hope, in respect
for how long I have been a subscriber, that you will leave
the entire post just as I submitted it, without editing. : )

In Digest #231, Melanie Kozik said that Adland has
changed. Melanie also commented on MLM content.

In Digest #232, 8 responses were posted. Most of those
comments pretty much went up one side and down the other
to tell Melanie that she is wrong about MLM or Adland.

I have been an Adland Subscriber since 1998. I remember
the proud post when Adland hit 500 subscribers.

Folks, if you haven't been a subscriber since 1998/99,
before you say ONE word in response, go to the archives
and READ what Adland used to be. (Urls at bottom)

Today, far, far too many posts are thinly-veiled blatant
advertising. Too many of them are promoting the latest
"money making opportunity." Plus MLM. And -let's not
forget the free, Free, FREE craze that prevails lately.

Have people forgotten that there is NO such thing as
free? You either pay money - or you pay something
else. Usually (on the Internet) the "something else" is
that you promote the "other" site and help THEM grow.

My partner and I both work online, fulltime. Our websites
pay for the house and the car, the bills and the frills. We
feed, support and clothe three kids between us - all
from the income we make online. We also provide
employment to several part time employees.

Trust me, we didn't get there by using freebies,
selling MLM, or chasing money making opportunities.

As of issue #232, Adland has 23,595 subscribers.
Why don't they post? Why do we just hear from the
same handful of people over and over and over again??

Come to think of it, where are the posts from Jacob Jobst,
Rob Willman, Don Wetmore, Charity Adams, William Bontrager
and Rafael Aguilo? They used to be "regulars." So was I.

Did they - like Melanie - just move on? Or do they just hit
delete. Are they subscribers who don't even read Adland,
much less participate? Why?

Perhaps it's because people that make their living via the
Internet have learned that free, free, free is a waste of time
and effort. So is most of the MLM on the Internet. So are most
of the affiliate programs. And - an affiliate id is not a business.
An affiliate id pays more - per sale - to the owner of the program
than to the commissioned seller. Simple math.

Maybe it depends on what you classify as making money
online. Enough to go out for dinner? A couple hundred a
month? Or a few grand a month? Maybe that's the
dividing line between those who like the freebie, MLM,
money making opportunity content and those who don't?

I don't know... but I do know that Melanie was right.
She IS right. Adland has changed.

Judith Tramayne-Barth agreed with Melanie. She's been
around since 'early 99, I think. She sees the difference.

John Colanzi made a comment that "what readers
send in is what's on their mind at the time." John's been
around for several years, too. So, if John is right, perhaps
the readers that this publication is attracting has changed?

Perhaps Adland has changed it's flavor and now appeals
to those whose minds are "on" MLM, freebies, affiliate
programs and "money making" opportunities?

If you're thinking of post a reply to tell me how wrong I am,
don't bother. The archives support what I'm saying.
The essence of Adland is different than it used to be.

Whether the change is for better or worse depends on the
reader/subscriber. Those who like what the content is -
will stay. Those who don't - will either unsubscribe or hit
the delete button.

The silent majority are the ones who can answer those
questions. I truly hope some of them reply.

Oh.... and before you post a reply... please read the
archives. The difference is clearly posted right here...

Hi Bogdan,
here I go again.

Melanie - you can't be serious. You've been a mainstay of the Adland's
Digest since I can remember. Your comments and insight has raised the
awareness for many hundreds (if not thousands) of readers and potential
internet marketers.
Unsubscribing will only leave us with one unlit candle in an electronic
wilderness of flamers and spammers. I have looked forward to your posts more
than reading my own (ok, sometimes I'm a little self-indulgent :-))
Stay subscribed, we all need you.

A Scam Is A Scam Is A Scam
Often we are presented with ways to make "Internet Wealth". You have to
remember that what you read on the internet is not always TRUTHFUL.
Sometimes it's even presented as truth, sometimes we need people to help us
find the way to the truth. The current flow of discussions towards MLM and
instant wealth is a natural turn of events for any discussion forum. A
necessary evil among real internet business people. People that have a real
product to sell, tangible or informational. I avoid any instant wealth
programs although I have investigated a few (Going Platinum being one).

There was a time when Adland's Digest was well known for helping the
subscribers with relevant information to making money online. The articles
contain submitted information only, so speak up! Our contributions are what
will make or break this great source of information and promotional
opportunities.
It's unfortunate that instant wealth programs have currently taken over. All
of us have a degree of common sense, something to get past the hype and
imaginary piles of money that will fall from the sky with the creation of
our web sites. If it looks to good to be true, it probably is. If it
requires little investment (money or time) and has auto-features for
replicating, generating or other techniques to create instant wealth, it
isn't real. It may make a few of the ground floor operators and hypsters
some money, but not you.
Once again, you've been warned - or you too will be scammed!

Find ONE program that you truly believe in. Create a content rich website
about something you know and understand. Merge the two. AND work hard. Maybe
the website will pay for itself in a year or two, maybe you'll find the
lifestyle of being a webmaster isn't for you.
You decide.

Subject:Adland Digest Has Changed

I have been a subscriber for about one year now. I have to agree with Melanie.
I thought this ezine was supposed to be about getting help and information on
how to be successful with an Internet business, not how to hype an MLM business.
I don't see anybody who is in an MLM business telling us how they've become
successful, what methods they've used, etc. All I've read is people defending
or not defending an MLM business and alot of hype on how great it is. How is
that supposed to benefit me? What useful information could I get from someone
telling me how wonderful their business is doing without giving any substantial
credit for how they were able to maintain this?

My website has been active for over one year. I started from scratch, did a lot
of research into my information, and did a lot of research into my affiliate
programs. I make my money from affiliate programs who offer a service or
product. I don't advertise for these companies on the basis that others will
join also. I advertise to sell a product or service. That is where my money is
coming from... the customer. Now the tricky part is marketing. I haven't heard
of anybody on this ezine who is in an MLM business tell us how they are
marketing their "product". How are you able to get traffic to your site? How
are you able to sell your "product". I believe that is what we'd like to know.

And what is with these people asking information about MLM companies they are
interested in? I can understand if you were questioning a FFA site or search
engine or something that will help to market your business. You want to know
whether or not it's worth investing your time in money in a certain marketing
approach. But why do you need to post in this ezine about a questionable MLM
company? Obviously if it's questionable you know the answer. If it sounds like
a scam it is a scam. Simple as that. I'm tired of reading these stupid
questions, "I'm interested in investing $$$ in this MLM company. It sounds like
a scam. Anyone got any info?" Come on! Don't waste our time anymore.

Lets get back to what this ezine is all about... web marketing and promotion.
If you want to post about an MLM business you're involved in then please keep it
to how it pertains to this ezine... no more hype.

I too have been reading this newsletter for years now. Every now and then
I'm prompted to respond, and sometimes I too am tempted to just unsubscribe.

Some of the comments in this one struck a familiar chord...
>From:Melanie Kozik
>Hello Adlanders...I have been reading this digest for about 2 years
>now. Because of the length of time as a subscriber, I feel
>compelled to write in and say I am probably not going to be reading
>it anymore. I am verging on unsubscribing (so who cares right?)
>but I am also a creature of habit. ;)
>Adlands has somehow lately become an MLM e-magazine. I don't
>like MLM. I didn't subscribe to an MLM list. If it isn't SFI, it's
>Going Platinum or something else.

If I never see the expression "Going Platinum" again - it will be too soon.
As someone else commented. If you haven't made it in the bricks&mortar world
of business then you won't make it on the internet either. What you do have
is a vastly expanded opportunity to loose your money. I know, there are
thousands (so they say) of people who have made a lot of money on the
internet. I have to ask what they define as "a lot of money?"

For the rest of us - it's an expensive hobby, and if it pays for itself,
good. If not, then we do it because we enjoy working with the global
community.

I even got into writing "How To" articles for this newsletter for a while. I
found that interesting, but then ran out of time. I'm a great believer in
helping people get started. It's a tricky industry.

I have to admit, I too was on the verge of unsubscribing.
I was interested in marketing and promotion ideas and
all you get is MLM program discussions for weeks on end.

People seem to get a website, have no idea what to
sell or promote and turn to MLM programs.

How about some subjects to help real businesses
promote and market? By actually owning a business
and selling real products you can make money.

Try it. It works better than MLM scams.

Hello List,

Great tips I have received from here, on programs currently going or not
going. It's like an insight to the stock market, which is not one of my
interests.

The discussion about the ads being deleted and not read, may be very valid.
I am guilty of this from numerous lists as well. Why? Often times, the ads
are why they are not read. When the only ads they have are for financial
plans, credit cards, music, games, jokes, etc. they don't get my attention. I
suppose others like it though. I also notice when I fill out a list of things
I'm interested in,I get ads for everything but what I asked for. As for
prices, yes, many things are over priced. The worst part on pricing is some
of the shipping charges!
Before Christmas I was going to order $17 worth of jewellery for a gift. The
shipping charge on the net was $40, I think not! I asked for their catalogue
and the same item from the catalogue- shipping $4. That will drive away
customers!

While I'm airing peeves with advertising-ever read the web pages where YOU
have to order today to get the price or the free bonus? The same thing is
on their page for weeks- the day just changes. I realize why they do it, but
to me that is unfair advertising. If an offer ends today, GET IT OFF
tomorrow, or at least change it! I really think if advertisers would pay a
little more attention to what they are saying and the tactics they are
using, more people might read their ads.

In response to Bill Bauer's comments on Silver Clicks, I have some personal
input to share.
I am a member of Silver Clicks. Like Mr Bauer, I do not generally have time
to click away for points etc..but there is another side to SilverClicks that
appeals to me highly as a webmaster.
I give away Silver Clicks on my site, in a weekly sweeps and as a bonus to
some of my site's visitors. They are priceless. People love those things and
click like crazy to get more and more of them. Because it takes so long to
accumulate enough of them to get a prize I often find the people who visit my
site for them are the type of people who are patient, enjoy surfing and often
stay longer before clicking away.
I think they are definitely worth looking into, if you haven't already.
My site is a member of a Silver Clicks webring even and I receive traffic
daily from that one little link.
Just my two cents :)

You asked for some opinions on the email program. I play alot of games and click
alot of ads and some programs do have u find a link or ask u a question. I don't
like this at all. It slows me down considerably looking for something I'm not
even
interested in... it took me 3 minutes one day looking for a link they wanted me
to click.. i found it down at the bottom of the page in size 6 font along with
25 other links lol.. as far as the advertisers go.. I can tell them that having
their ad seen over a period of time consistently will get them results.. what
doesn't interest someone one month might the next.. I find this true with
myself... if u see a name of a site alot it will stick.. if I wanted to get a
deal on a video game.. guess where I would go? gee half.com see what I mean?
they advertise constantly.. it doesn't seem much different than TV to me... the
advertiser pays to be seen.. not everyone buys..but if u want to u can get
instant gratification on the net .. no waiting

From:Kathleen VanBeekom
Subject:Effective Opt-in Mailing Lists and Click Incentives

This is in regard to your Opt-In idea and also in response to several
postings in the Feb. 25th issue.

I think a good idea would be to offer subscribers a FREE AD in Adland Digest
when they accumulate a certain number of points from your opt-in email
questions. It would be great if their ad could be published in the very next
issue after they get the needed number of points.
This publication is very high-response and many people probably don't
purchase ads either because they don't want to spend money or don't want to
wait for a long time before their ad is published.

I'm with several different programs, some offer cash and some offer free ads,
I get tired of waiting for my money to accumulate until I can get paid. I
find myself working harder for the program that offers me a free ad, because
its more worth my effort to have an ad that could bring me new customers (who
could become repeat customers) instead of just getting paid a few dollars
from several weeks or months of reading email. The key to getting repeat
business is Follow-Up. Making a sale is great, making a sale to several
people is great, but if you don't stay in touch, they may not purchase again.
Online marketing is fast-paced and people are too busy to remember
everything. Its up to you to contact your customers regularly with the
benefits of your product or service.

In response to the person who said people will just look for the answers on
the site in order to get credit and he doesn't think they'll become
customers, it only takes 1 person to make a purchase in order to make your
advertising successful. Many people will only visit the site for the
answers, but a few will really read it & take an interest. People are
subliminal beings, when we see something, it sticks with us. It helps a
great deal to put "Bookmark This Site" on the top of all your sites. Do you
notice how "Click Here" has become a household phrase? "Bookmark This!"
should be the new phrase!

For my FreeCashHound Ezine solo ads, I create a simple contest to send people
to the solo advertiser's site to look for an answer to a question. The
readers who send in the correct answers get an ad in my ezine and on 2 of my
sites for one day (they don't win a solo ad, just ezine & onsite ads).
Getting people to your site is more than half the battle, once they're at
your site, its up to your site-content to keep their interest.

I tried another idea, combining the many daily solo ads into 1 large
"Cash-Ad" email offering readers $1 per each website they visited plus
winning the free ads, this brought in approximately the same amount of
response.
I thought the response would be higher for cash prizes, but it stayed the
same.
This also bothered a few of my subscribers who had purchased many solo ads in
advance, they want their ads run by themselves, not combined with one or two
others in the same email. I decided to discontinue the Cash-Ad idea and go
back to individual solo's with the prize being free ads.
Free ads are worth more in the long-run because they can create repeat
income streams. My personal opinion is that solo ads are too valuable to be
offered for free, people swarm on freebies and swamp the publisher with
unpaid work, especially if the publisher is creating a question about your
site in order to get people to actually read it.
My points are: get people to bookmark your sites, make consistent daily
efforts, stay in touch with customers, downliners & upliners. Use an email
address that you actually log into and read. My opinion is that a free ad to
a very responsive subscriber base...which can lead to repeat business...is
more valuable than upfront cash.

As a past subscriber to many opt-in lists, I would
like to express my opinion on this issue. The whole
point of opt-in lists is to give subscribers a forum
for placing their own ads and responding to ads that
they are interested in. It seems like such a simple
concept, yet it is hard to find any "true" opt-in
lists any more. A subscriber to an opt-in list should
not have to jump through hoops and play games to read
an ad. The only successful opt-in list I ever belonged
to, allowed subscribers to post their ad twice a week.
No autoresponders or bounced emails allowed. You were
not bombarded with ads, so it gave you more time to
read subscriber ads and a better response rate for
your own ads.

Hi B.

If you look at http://www.paysu.com

they have a set up that is somewhat like what you have in mind. The viewer has
to download a small program that is in their face all the time. There are
adverts that are changing as they are surfing on the hope that subjectively
something comes up that the viewer will find interesting. The viewer is then
supposed to click on the ad and of course get involved and get paid to do so. I
tried it for awhile but have it minimized all the time now.

Actually it is very irritating the way that it is, but if they moderated the ads
to be not so offensive visually - it causes involuntary eye movement - it could
be a good promotion. Also, they have a mini-index and search feature to the
left of the downloaded bar that is useless - I mean asking "Jeeves" about
anything is an exercise and the rest of it is repetitive of what we already
have.

Having said all of that - I still think it would be good if the program got a
major overhaul for presentation and actual use.

Greetings Bogdan! I am a new subscriber to Adland Digest, and first wanted to
say how much I enjoy it; the format especially. Through encouraging subscribers
to say their piece, you have managed to create a resource that is ever-fresh and
always interesting to read!

I wanted to say a few quick words about advertising using FFAs. If you are a
newbie to internet business, no doubt you will have trashed the idea of posting
to FFAs. This type of advertising has gotten a bad rap!!
I think that a lot of people are targeting the actual type of advertising when
the real problem lies with the FFA owners. The system is definitely being abused
here. A lot of FFAs claim that you will receive a "one-time only" confirmation
of your posting. Those of you who have used/are using FFAs already know that
this is a load of tripe. IMHO, these people are contributing to the downfall of
what is truly a valuable form of advertising.
My experience with FFAs has been very positive (confirmation emails excluded).
In fact, I have received more hits and visitors to my site using FFAs than with
any other form of advertising!
However, these FFA owners still continue to flood our inboxes with wave after
wave of confirmation emails. The rules which govern this advertising system
could definitely use an overhaul. So maybe we should be concentrating on getting
rid of the bad apples before we decide to throw away the entire bunch.

To Jaqueline Braun
It is stories like yours that really burn my butt. Again, the internet has been
invaded by a few bad apples who are just out to take your money and run. I have
only been in internet business for six months, and have seen enough scams to
last a lifetime. These people have made it a thousand times more difficult for
people like me to convince visitors of my integrity. And that gives me all the
more reason to stay true to my visitors and to myself. It is my hope that your
past experiences have served to do the same for you.

A nice website. Easy to navigate. Fast. Straight to the point. It's not
littered with adverts for all sorts of rubbish or MLM schemes and
pot-of-gold comon's. It's a contact board and that's what it does.
Excellent.

I can sympathise with all the problems of credit card transactions. I just
came across WorldPay.com the other day. Long after I have gone to all the
trouble(and expense) of setting up merchant accounts with the local banks.
I'll probably end up going to worldpay.com as they can do transactions in
any currencies you like. anywhere in the world. No affiliate or mlm stuff.
Just sign up for their service for what ever their rates are per year. A
proper banking organisation.
I also agree, the Internet is VERY USA centric. but we're all working on
that... :-) I have an Internet Radio Station running,
http://www.quantum-radio.net.au that plays World Music exclusively, with
lots of music from Africa. No HeavyMetal/Rap/HeadBanging/Rock'n'Roll or Pop
music, just World Music. Music that is popular in-country. Many of the
countries of Africa are represented, and there are no advertisements and no
introductions etc. Just the music. Ok, the stream is not a fast one, but
it's been up for about a year now live, and is well received. I'm still
working on it with a friend, and some of the pages on the site are blank
(shock horror) but it's the music that I'm interested in. Traditional, folk,
ethnic, and I'd love to be able to play more from Africa on the program
list. Indeed, from any country. Sometime this year I hope to have the
station streaming so that I can display a dynamic playlist, showing the
currently playing track and where it can be obtained. An excellent
opportunity for Africans (and others) to have their music heard.

So take heart if you feel that you have wasted your time and energy on the
Internet. If you hadn't done it, you would have only been doing something
else anyway. Maybe even having fun :-)
Think laterally - offer you site in as many languages as you can. There are
a LOT of people who don't speak English!

Write this up on a sign above your computer:
"If it's too good to be true - It probably is"

I read some of the reader's opinions about mlm and I was shocked about
the misconceptions out there. For those who don't know what the true
meaning of MLM or network marketing is, I will try to put it simple for
you. MLM produces more millionaires each year than all other businesses
combined. Somewhere between 80% to 95% of ALL businesses that are
started each year fail. The same is true with mlm. That is not the
mlm's fault! True, there are scams out there that are truly pyramid
schemes. THEY ARE NOT MLM'S! They are pyramid schemes. Illegal!! All
an mlm company does is give you, an individual, the chance to build an
organization just like Domino's Pizza, McDonalds, Wendy's, etc. I have
a friend who has more customers in his long distance mlm organization
than many telephone long distance companies and he paid a grand total of
nothing to join the company. You see, it isn't the concept of mlm that
is bad, it is sometimes the individual company and sometimes it is the
lazy people who join and expect other people to do the work.

From:Bob Sharpe
Subject:MLM a business model

I teach classes in small business in two Los Angeles area colleges, and I have
my own home business. I believe in MLM, but not in the way it is practiced by
most people. Everybody has to be a winner. And don't ever forget that Network
Marketing is NetWORK Marketing. It's not Santa Claus bringing riches to the
person who was lucky enough to sign up with the right opportunity. It's just
plain WORK. But it can be very rewarding and lucrative. And it can change your
life.

MLM is definitely a valid way to build a legitimate business, even though most
people who get involved don't make any money. When something goes wrong, it's
not MLM as a business model, it's either the company, the products, the support
system (upline) or the individual - or a combination. 80-90% of traditional
businesses fail too. And nobody ever suggests that the high failure rate is due
to the traditional business model.

For someone considering MLM, there are a few things that need to be
investigated. These are all like links in a chain. If one link is weak, the
entire chain is in danger of breaking -

1. The company - Is it established with a solid track record?
2. The product - Can they buy your $40 bottle of vitamins for $7 at Costco? (And
don't say yours is the best--everybody says that) One MLM company with $40
vitamins actually uses synthetic vitamin E (dl-tocopherol) in some of their
products.
3. The marketing plan - Can an average person earn $200-$1000 a month in the
first 3 months?
4. The recruiting - Is it based on hype?
5. Quotas - Do you need to make large purchases of product to qualify for
commissions or overrides? You wouldn't believe how many people end up with a
closet full of vitamins or a garage full of water filters.
6. Ordinary people - Are ordinary people making extraordinary income, or is it
just the "superstars" (the experts at hyping)
7. The support system - Is your prospective upline successful - and are they
committed to your success? Do they have a support system in place to help you
build your business?

Get all the pieces together correctly, learn the system and WORK, and MLM will
change your life.

Well, that's my half-cent after taxes.

From:Angie Boldwyn
Subject:MLM a business model

Here is an excellent report that reflects my thoughts on MLM.
To date, in my three years on the net, I have joined one MLM
and that was for the product which is as it should be. If the
product is good, people will want to promote it.

THE PROBLEM WITH MULTI-LEVEL MARKETING

What's so wrong with MLM? There are a lot of people who
won't get involved with MLM plans because they lack the
deep down enthusiasm that's needed for the long term in
a MLM environment.

A lot of people who want to try a product being sold by
MLM sometimes get turned off because of the
"networking/business" aspect of MLM. Why can't I just be
a consumer without becoming a "network" participant,
without being assigned to a marketing level.

MLM businesses can be better off if only they advertise
their product and have less emphasis on recruiting their
downline.

In fact, I never see advertising for products, just the
invitation to join someone's downline. It's because most
MLM organizations are set up with "money" being the
deriving force in their business.

They make more money by recruiting people into the program
and the purchase of marketing materials and sales aides.
While this is not true with all MLM companies, it is true
for most of them.

Did you ever get one of those announcements in the mail for
free tickets to a seminar that claims to set you up in
business? Have you ever attended one? Well let me tell you,
the speaker is trained to push and motivate their audience.
Most people are hit with such a sales pitch that they almost
run each other over buying the starter kit for $349.95 at the
end of the meeting. Then, when they get home they want to
shoot themselves for buying something that still doesn't put
them in business. It's sad for the average guy or gal who
really just wants to make some honest money in a business of
their own.

Wouldn't it seem logical if someone put together a catalog
of products that other people could purchase WITHOUT joining
into a MLM program? In fact, they could generate some sales
for their products instead. What holds them back from doing
so? It is the fact that the organization wants people to sell
the $349.95 package today because the $5.95 order for the
product itself doesn't make them any money?

Please understand that I'm not talking about every company
out on the market. Watkins, NuSkin, Nutrition for Life and
Golden Pride/Rawleigh each have catalogs of products you can
buy without joining their program.

The only problem is that you don't see very many ads for them.
Instead you find ads that state "Make money with me and
increase your income." or "Earn a new car within the next
24-hours!"

Back in the 1940's if you picked up a mail order magazine
you saw REAL products you could order from REAL people. If you
wanted a saw blade for your saw, you sent in a check and
ordered one. You didn't join downlines to sell the saw blades
to others in your area. Now, if you want a blade for your saw
you'd have to either wade through so much hype and bull that
you may never find one. Instead, you just rely on Montgomery
Ward or Sears.

See people, money is being lost in the regular world of mail
order simply because their are no REAL ads being run for REAL
products. Pick up a mail order tabloid and you'll see immediately
what I'm talking about. Why is everyone selling everyone else's
stuff? What happened to our individual creativity? Most of the
answer lies in the fact that so much hype is being pushed on the
general public it is ridiculous. People come on TV and tell
you that you can make millions of dollars by running tiny little
classified ads. They show you scenes of people relaxing on their
yachts and making huge bank deposits. Society makes the mail
order business world look like something easy, carefree and
non-tiring!

But perhaps, if I purchased a REAL product and loved it so
much I might be enthused enough to join the MLM concept later on
down the road, wouldn't the ultimate goal of building a downline
be accomplished also while at the same time selling the product?

Hi,

I just wanted to throw in my two cents about
the clamor over MLM.

Multi-level is technically any program that pays
on more than one level ie. Rick Beneteau,
Marlon Sanders, IMC etc.

To say that because they pay on more than one
level there's no way to make money is false.

Working MLM is like anything else, if you put
in the time and effort you will make money, if
you don't you won't.

Most new businesses fail because the marketers
are expecting to get something for nothing or they
want to get rich quick.

Not because the program is flawed. If you sign
up for a program and are looking out only for
yourself, you're wasting your time.

There is money to be made in MLM if you're
patient and willing to learn enough to train your
downline.

MLM is like anything else you get what you give.
I've been working a program and by being patient
and persistent it's starting to build and will eventually
be growing on it's own.

I should have over 100 downline members in the next
30 days and most of that will have been from members
I've trained and created a system for not my own recruits.

By helping others I'm helping myself. By answering their
questions, I'm learning.

Most people will have a bad experience with a company
or have no support from their upline and then blame all
company's.

If a carpenter bends a nail, he doesn't quit using nails.

John Colanzi

Lose the affiliate links and work on the information you say you will be

just put them on a LINKS page. Then forget about them. Do your homework and

Hello Roy,
I went and looked at you website. It is not a sales letter and you do not ask

own a Unique Patrol business where I patrol by air and road. I add members with
door to door sales. I also sell the idea of my flying business to others on my

http://uniquepatrols.netfirms.com/
Most websites don't sell the product...and yours does not at all. You need to
create a better hook. Your hook
The Best Kept Russian Secret of World War II
tries to get me to want to read more...how? By implying there is a 'secret' I
don't know...it is too weak.
Did you know the World War II Russian fighter pilots were deadly hunters,
especially the women??!!
Now that is a better hook because it tells what it is...and its something I have
never heard of...so I would want to read more.
Your txt under your hook is good. The book cover is a cool pic...but you should
make it smaller.
Under the book cover you should put your SYNOPSIS
Then ask for the order!!
This is your "asking for the order"...don't use it.

1. Make the font sizes smaller
2. Get yourself a professional logo

On the "catalogue" page:

3. List your services at the top.
4. The "click to order" notification only needs to be given once -
preferrably at the top of the page - and not next to each item.
5. Is there supposed to be something under the "Sections"

On the "Information We Need Page"

6. Make the text "customer agreement" a link to that agreement.
7. Make this a full-fledged form that people can submit, with the

Hi Carla, :-)

Here goes:

1. You need to ensure that your design is suitable for different
resolutions and browsers. For example, I'm using Netscape with a
resolution of 600 X 800 and, in your main frame, the text runs off the
right hand side of my screen and I have to scroll over to read it.
2. A surfer needs to go to the very bottom of every page in order to
see the menu. Put it in the left-side column instead.
3. Put what you are providing for free up front and NOT the books
you are trying to sell.
4. You should indicate that you are an affiliate of Amazon.com
People will be more comfortable in purchasing from big names.
