=================COMFORT ZONE=====================
From:Toney Marshall

Dear Bogdan and Friends,

I am a Contract MARKETING/SUCCESS Coach for multiple Corporations that offer
business opportunities!  Recently I sent this poem to the "thousands" of
entrepreneurs that I've been blessed to be able to help for the past 2 and a
half years .  I've received so many positive emails regarding this poem that
I've decided to share it with you and your subscribers!

I Hope You Enjoy This Message!

ARE YOU TRAPPED??

I used to have a "comfort zone"
Where I knew I couldn't fail,
The same four walls and busy work
Were really more like JAIL!
I longed so much to do the things
I'd never done before,
But I stayed inside my "comfort zone"
And paced the same old floor.

I said it didn't matter
That I wasn't doing much,
I said I didn't care for things
Like diamonds, furs and such.
I claimed to be so busy with
The things inside the "zone",
But deep inside I longed for
Something "special" of my own.

I couldn't let my life go by
Just watching others WIN,
I held my breath and stepped outside
To let the change begin!
I took a step and with new strength
I'd never felt before,
I kissed my "comfort zone" good-bye
And closed and locked the door!

If YOU are in a "comfort zone"
Afraid to venture out,
Remember that all WINNERS were
At one time filled with doubt.
A step or two and words of praise
Can make your dreams come true.
So greet your FUTURE with a SMILE,
SUCCESS is there for YOU!!

DON'T GET LEFT BEHIND!!!

Dear Brian Hartman,

Last week I promised "If anything good happens I will report that to this group
also." This is my current status with this company:

It took 11 & 1/2 days from the time I met all the conditions to have my site
promoted.
In the last 3 days I have averaged over 1200 hits (click throughs) a day but
they are all from a NT server from Asia with no indication of the origin.  I
inquired and was told that is because they screen all the hits through their
Fire-Wall but I noticed that the hits are only (and consistently) one minute
apart in groups.  The other thing is that I am getting from none to few sign-ups
so I question if real people are visiting my site.
My experience had been about a 2 or 3 % sign up on other promotion efforts.

I have used Paypal for two years now and there is nothing that I have found
better.  You do not have to have a merchant account and you do not have to wait
for it to clear.  There is a limit of 10,00  that can be charged per customer.
I like it because the money is at my disposal right then and there.  I can
transfer it to my credit card or to my checking account.

If you would like to see an example just click here
http://members.tripod.com/~Vagas1_2/paying.html and act as if you want to place
an order to see how it works.  the only problem is that they can only order one
thing at a time, they can order as many as they want of that particular item,
but only that item unless your send them back to that page.  which when doing
the paypal code you can send them back or to any page when they are done with
their order.  If you would like any more info just e-mail me @
sunbeltcoffee@mediaone.net and I will help as much as I can.  Just put Adland
Digest "Paypal" in the subject line, please.

Hey Steve,

You were interested in comments from anyone who uses PayPal's Web Accept.  I use
it at my site for my customers and it's great.  It's automatic, and so hassle
free.  Their fees are $0.30 per transaction for receiving payments only - under
$15.00, it's 2.2% for $15.00 or more there's a +$0.30 charge for non-instant
payments, (eChecks).  There's no charge for sending payments.  These charges
also only apply to Premiere or Business Accounts - which you need to be able to
host Web Accept - but consumers can utilize a 100% free personal account.

With PayPal it's so versatile for the consumer, for you purchase using bank
transfers, credit cards, or even eChecks.  I personally love the fact that I
don't have to use my credit card when I want to buy something from someone
else - that's the #1 sales loss from me, if I'm shopping at a website and a
credit card is the only method accepted...I frown when I can't find PayPal, and
will often leave the site and NOT make the purchase.  I greatly dislike paying
interest on a product, when I have the money in my checking account.

In His Joy,
Seqkat

This is reply to Nancy Kramer's suggestion of ProPay.  The payment is processed
in 2 days???  PayPal is instant.  I sell ads to submit to multiples of ezines to
my customers, they send payment to PayPal, and before they have finished
processing the order at my site, by sending me their ad, PayPal has already
sent me a receipt of payment.  These people don't want to wait two days for me
to start circulating their ads.

Then there's all that confusion with the cart and the phone??  All they have to
do is at my site, is click on a cat paw print icon (I have a cat theme at my
site), it takes them straight to a form that is prefilled for the customer, with
the ads, the amount and my email account.  They fill in their information and
are done.  To view it click here then scroll down and click on the cat paw
print:

It's a small hassle, when you first join PayPal for they take measures to make
sure you are DEFINITELY you, giving them your banking account number and that
you're not a thief.  After joining, PayPal is totally painless and very quick
and easy to use.

Hi,

I must agree I have joined Herbalife - this is not a sales pitch - I have
tried several things PRSI, WAD, Lifestyles, and so on.  These promised what
could be, but NEVER delivered.

The company I am with pays 73% of its $3.5 Billion turnover back into the
group, has a loyal 30 millions customer base and pays out on time, and has
done for 21 years.  Not many can boast all that.  So the idea for looking
for established company with evidence of product, payout and longevity is a
must.  Also this company is really getting into the internet, we have
training sites, business sites, and a retail site which excepts all card and
has a shopping trolly. We also have a fulfilment house which send out CD
roms on the business everytime time we get a hit.  How that for growth.

Take care

From:Valerie Tay
Subject:Bogus Business Opportunities

My post is in response to Carol's post on bogus business opportunities.
While I do sympathize with newbies not making money on the Internet, I still
have to say that a lot of the business opportunities are for real.  The
fact that affiliates do not get new affiliates to join their downline simply
means there is something amiss in the marketing strategy, not that the business
is bogus.  I am sure we know that in the offline world, there are people
who go into business and make huge bucks while there are some who don't
earn a dime or worst still, become bankrupt.  Ask me about it, my dad went
bankrupt when I was in high school and we couldn't even afford my tuition
fees when I got accepted into the local university of my country!  The point
about my story is that in this world, no matter ON or OFF line, successes
are never guaranteed.  We seem to be able to live with failures in the
traditional world, but when it comes to the online arena, we expect returns in
a timely fashion.  It is due to this unfair and unrealistic expectation that a
lot
of people come to perceive online business opportunities as bogus.

Besides, it is a misconception that MLM is easy business.  In fact, nothing
can be far more fallacious than this notion.  In the year 2001, the Internet
is no longer what it used to be in 1996 when Amazon.com created a sensation
in the web marketing industry with its introduction of affiliate marketing.
Now we have so many more web sites cluttering the WWW that it has become
even more difficult to market our business opportunities.  Hence, as online
marketers, we have to come up with new and creative ideas to market our
businesses.  When one idea fails, try another one.  It is only after various
trials and errors that some affiliates start making sales and building their
downlines.

Also, people tend to equate the quantity of time put into marketing with
the quality of marketing.  I can spend 10 hours a day posting to FFA pages,
classified ad sites and not get a single response.  The bottom line is:
these "tactics" - if they can even be called "tactics" - have long been
pronounced dead by many.  And we can forget mass submissions where one submits
to 1,000 search engines.  Firstly, there are no 1,000 search engines; only
the 10 major search engines matter.  Secondly, even within these major search
engines, a site has to rank high in order to get traffic.

This will bring us to the next point on why some affiliates do not have
enough hits, and hence don't make money.  As we all know, a lot of affiliates
are given replicated sites to promote.  Using this replicated site and not
having one's own web site has many disadvantages.  Firstly, search engines
do not accept URL submissions from replicated sites.  Secondly, some big
pay-per-click search engines like GoTo.com do not accept replicated sites
too.  According to my own personal experience, GoTo can bring in more traffic
than a few of the smaller pay-per-click engines combined, hence if the affiliate
excludes GoTo, he/she is abandoning a very productive traffic generator.
Thirdly, without having one's own site, there are other traffic generating
options that require the insert of html code within the <head> and </head>
tags of the site that affiliates cannot utilize.  One example of such options
is the using of interstitial technology to "exchange hits" with other web
sites.  You can go to these sites to find out more about interstitial
technology:
http://www.exitfuel.com/join/nph-signup.cgi?ref=valtay
http://www.internetnews.com/IAR/article/0%2C2171%2C12_1051%2C00.html

Of
course, the above list of disadvantages is far from exhaustive, but I can't
take too much space in this digest to prattle on about a subject that some
may not like.  Before I end my post, here are a few suggestions on where
to advertise:

LinkReferral.com - Free, surf for credits to be used as impressions for
your site.
http://www.linkreferral.com/cgi-bin/linkreferal/adwel.cgi?oldrefid=8496
Linbo.com - Free also, place a javascript code on your site and exchange
text links with other sites.
http://www.linbo.com/refer.cgi?id=90
AdHomeBase.com - Place your ad with multiple ezines. $10 for an ad exposed
to 15,000 or more subscribers.

Thanks everybody.

From:Mireille Carrier
Subject:Bogus Business Opportunities

I would like to add the following reply to the above please.

I read Adland Digest from top to bottom every time I receive it.  This is by far
the best informative ezine on the net!  Super work Bogdan and all subscribers!!!

About bogus business opportunities.... yes there are a lot of them on the
internet!  It's no surprise that so many people get scammed every day.  But if
you do just a little research BEFORE you join any of them it would save you an
awful lot of headaches and possibly a lot of money in the future.  Just don't
let greed get the best of you.  Nobody is going to make $10,000 next month in
any new business unless you win the lottery!  Let your head rule (yes the one on
your shoulders! LOL).

I disagree with you about the timeframe to get a first cheque.  When you know
HOW to promote and get going from day one, and WORK at it, it's quite possible
that you'll do some business in your first month and more than likely you WILL
get a cheque within two months.  It also depends what you're selling.  Those who
are motivated and work smart every day, those who seek help from their leaders
and willing to put in the extra effort will succeed.

Building traffic to your site with Click-thru only accomplishes one thing:  get
lots of hits and get a better ranking with search engines that take into
consideration how popular your site is.  If you get ANY referrals from
Click-thru and the likes, they're bonuses.  The majority of click-thru users
only stay on your site long enough (the required 30 seconds) to get their credit
then move on to the next site.  They don't care what you promote at all, they're
there for one reason only, and joining your opportunity or buying from your site
just isn't it.  No wonder your ratio of hits to referrals is only 1000:1!

You can do very well with free advertising if you know WHERE and HOW to
advertise.  That's one thing I teach my referrals from the very beginning so
that they don't waste their time, get frustrated and quit after a week of hard
work.  Yes it takes time, but the key is to work "hard and smart", not just
hard. I've had a few of my ad headlines "stolen" and now I see ads on free sites
using my own words promoting various programs, some even advertise known scams.
I just chuckle and find new catchy titles.  It's proof they work.

You're right to say that people don't fail, they give up.  Most blame the
company or products and jump from one opportunity to the next with the same
results.  Do you see a pattern here?  Why do they give up?  They get on the
internet, all excited with a new business venture, most don't have a clue about
internet marketing, no one to help them, no training available, so they find all
the free sites and post tons of ads there and expect big results.  Go have a
look at these popular free sites... it's a jungle of business opportunities and
all the scams you could ever dream of.  They all sound the same, very little
creativity.  If that's where you advertise and your ad doesn't stand out from
the rest, GOOD LUCK!  You'll be quitting in less than 6 months for sure.  No
need to post hundreds of useless ads every day when you know what you're doing.

The main problem is that most people think that working from home doesn't
require much effort when in reality it demands MORE work than in any other job.
Now YOU are the boss, there's nobody behind you to tell you to get to work, you
have to be able to motivate yourself and give an honest day's work every day to
make it happen.  People work in a job every day, why can't they do it at home?

Most people lack discipline, self motivation and determination when working from
home.  Why?  Take a good look around you at home, you'll find a million of other
things to do rather than work and so many distractions: kids, TV, phone calls,
playing games, chatting with friends, dirty dishes that need attention even.
Especially now that summer is just around the corner (for those of us who don't
live in a sun state or country).  Even harder to get going and spend all day
sitting a the computer when it's such a nice day outside.  But if you don't
work, who will?  How do you expect your business to get off the ground just
working one hour here and there or just working on rainy days?

To succeed and become a good leader you have to read everything you can put your
hands on.  And I don't mean just glance at the information, I mean really READ
it.  And don't buy every e-book from every site that promotes hype either.
You'll end up with a lot of the same worthless information from one site to
another and you'll find yourself a few hundred bucks poorer in a few months.
But you won't be any more ahead than you are right now.  Most of the informative
stuff you need to know can be found for free on the internet.  Just get to work!

If it's to be, it's up to me!

Mireille

Hi Adland Digest members

Anyone who has an Internet business has got at least ONE major task facing
them -- web site promotion, right?  Well, here`s a quick message about something
I ran across the other day that I wanted to share with all of you that will help
with that task.

Ok, riddle time:  name something that all serious Internet marketers do at least
DAILY, and probably many times per day?  (No, not THAT, let`s keep this above
board!)  They start their browser, right?  And your browser also starts with a
page that you`ve defined to start at, right?

Well, let`s say that when someone starts their browser, the page they initially
see is YOUR Web Site, or your Sales page, or any one of YOUR pages for programs
that you are marketing!  Pretty neat, eh?

This system will do that for you, as long as you agree to look at other pages as
YOUR start-up page when you start your browser.  No other commitment, and it`s
FREE.  If you are marketing multiple programs, it even has a "rotator" option
where you can set-up MULTIPLE pages to come up when someone starts their
browser.

If you`re new to the internet business world or a seasoned pro, you need to
check this out.  I`ve have been around for awhile and have not found any
advertising better then this.  Visit the link below and begin building instant
traffic to your site.  IT`S FREE !!

To your success,
Tom

The most obvious problem that I found with your website is that it doesn't load

not appreciate Netscape users, I guarantee you that they still have money and
would be willing to spend it on the Internet, but not at a site that doesn't

You are most likely missing a </TD>, </TR> or </TABLE> tag somewhere as that is
the most common mistake not overlooked by Netscape.

Email marketing tips
ByMelanie Kozik

Do you ever take the time to study some of the email you receive
from a strictly consumer viewpoint? Not looking with annoyance;
but as regular Joe sitting down to the computer in the morning,
booting up, drinking some coffee and hitting the check mail button.

This is about all those people who actually DO sign up for your
ezine or newsletter...those folks who said they actually WANT to
read your stuff. But do they?........

... their in-box opens. They have 154 new messages.

and so......... They begin weeding them out like snodgrass.

What will actually entice them to open your message and not send
it to the trashcan? What will get them to give you that precious 10
seconds?

What will get the click?

Obviously it has to be something in either the subject line or your
email address, because that's all there is folks :}

-----------------------------------

**1) - This little decoy has worked on me a couple of times.

I was a sitting duck. (ok, ok...enough with the bad jokes.)

I didn't think this up - it happens. Begin your email like this:

RE: ________________ (fill in the blank)

Why? It makes the person think they have already been
corresponding with you regarding something that was already of
interest and/or importance to them. If what is after the RE: means
anything at all, it gets the click!

**2) Put this in your subject line:

*WARNING: *then what you want to say*

The word Warning might make them think they are going to be
either unsubscribed to something they care about (even if they
forgot about it) or make them think it is their last chance for
something good they forgot about.

We are so inundated that, let's face it, we all forget about stuff -
even when we really DO want it. It's a matter of *time* - and there's
so little of it.

**3) Subject line - Oooops....!

Ooops is great. People love it when someone makes a mistake
and then comes clean. Human Nature ;)

Not only that but use this little decoy when you want to tell them
about a *special* that you perhaps forgot to mention in your last
letter to them awhile back (a few days ago - earlier that very day is
even better IMO)

**4) Word play subject lines - the best examples I see on a regular
basis on this are from Wired Daily News. Things like -

"Cooking up a Revised Spam Bill"

"Getting Dot-Bombed in Vancouver"

"New Economy: Lose Money, Pay Taxes"

"MS and Its Terms of Embarrassment"

These clever word-plays make me want to read the article. Even
though I may be pressed for time, I will at the very least scan it. Of
course, once I make that click, I expect the content to follow the
catcher. Ergo, it had better be good content!

**5) Subject line -

Important News about Your *widget*

Once again, it makes them think this is an email on something
they actually care about or are involved in. They may recall it was
their *choice* to subscribe and read. It was their *good thinking* to
buy that *widget* and now here is some news about it.

Now on to the email address itself:

-------------------------------------------------

Who is the email from?

With your dotcom, you can be anyone you want to be. Here are a
few email addresses which may incite interest. I always look at
*who* an email is from before I open it. If it is from
(joe47393463243@aol.com) -well, guess where it goes?

If it looks like it is really FROM someone to me - even if I don't
know them AND the subject line interests me briefly - it might just
get my click.

I'm sure you can think up a lot of intellectually enticing decoyish
names (or how ever you want them to sound) if you put a bit of
thought into it.

Use your own domain address!!!

Don't send html (it annoys a LOT of people)

If you want it read in html - send them a url to click on.

Don't send attachments

aol, yahoo, msn ...and especially email addresses with Numbers in
them (I have a real peeve about those) - none of them get my click.

If the email address looks spammy - it probably is spammy.

So that's it. Nothing to earth-shattering. Just some decoys for the
hunter.

Quack Quack.

All the best-Melanie Kozik

=====================Joke of the Day   (1)===============

A young man at his first job as a waiter in a diner has a large
trucker sit down at the counter and order, "Gimme 3 flat tires
and a couple of headlights".

Bewildered he goes to the kitchen and tells the cook, "I think
this guy's in the wrong store, look at what he ordered!".

The cook says, "He wants 3 pancakes & 2 eggs sunny-side
up".

The waiter takes a bowl of beans to the trucker.

He looks at it and growls, "What's this? I didn't order this!".

The young man tells him, "The cook says that while you're
waiting for your parts you might as well gas up!"
