Hi everyone!
I always read this ezine from top to bottom. I usually get a big laugh from the
joke of the day...lol.
Anyway, I would, (I think), pay for this ezine if it were not too expensive.
Some things are worth the price. Remember the commercial? List of things and
their cost, then something priceless like time with a loved one. If you think
about it, we here in this ezine, spend time together, getting to know each
other, making great friends and family of some members.....this is a priceless
thing! Then there some like me who never say anything....how can you get to know
me if I don't talk to you?
Visit my website and find out some about me. :-)  Please forgive some bad
links.....I'm still working on the site... :-D
Thanks for listening. Have a great day!!

The entire subject has been thrashed to death
but there's one point everyone has missed.
If all e-zines quit taking advertising, where
are we going to advertise?

A good 90% of my responses come from
e-zine ads.

Enough said! Keep the Digest free and
keep the ads!

Take care and keep smiling!

I am quite happy to quickly scroll through any ads that I am not interested in.
I must admit that I am very annoyed by constant pop ups, and spam, as I don't
have the time to waste deleting them all, but I read your interesting newsletter
when I have the time to sit down and go through it.
I understand that ads are part of the newsletter, and it is easy to just scroll
through.
There aren't too many genuinely free things these days, and the best things in
life are usually free, so I hope you keep the newsletter that way.

From:Allan Gardyne
Subject:Pay per lead vs pay per sale affiliate programs

Hi Bogdan and everyone

I'm glad Andy Sparks is having success after switching
from pay-per-sale to pay-per-lead affiliate programs.

I wanted to jump in here because I've found that, for me,
exactly the opposite is true.

In 1997 I was really keen on a pay-per-lead program which
was paying $1 a lead. Then I did a little experimenting
and found that it was nearly as easy to sell products
which paid $25, $50 or even $65 commission per sale.

You can see the ones which work best for me reviewed here:
http://www.AssociatePrograms.com/search/favourite.shtml .

It all depends on your target audience. If you have a fun
freebies site, for example, pay-per-lead programs may work
best. If you have site aimed at helping small businesses, I'd
strongly advise experimenting with pay-per-sale programs.

Hope that helps.

News Flash!!! Bill Gates Says. . . . . .

Recently, Bill Gates, CEO and Founder of Microsoft, said that the next era of
technology will be the merger of two giant mediums, the Internet and Television.
As this evolves, you will be able to do things on the broadband of satellite and
cable television, that are currently done on the internet.  He has coined this
new trend as "INTERNET 2", the convergence of TWO great technologies.  Mr.Gates
is so sure of the future of this, that he is betting that Microsoft, partnering
with Compaq Computers, UNISYS, FocusCore, Cisco System, and EMC(2), under the
leadership of Robert McNulty, a billionaire internet pioneer, creator of
Shopping.com in 1993, will become the leader with the newest Web Portal, 121.TV.
This Portal is projected to be as large as AOL, MSN, or Yahoo and open up
opportunities that will create the new millionaires of tomorrow!!! Compaq
Computers is so confident of Mr. McNulty, who sold Shopping.com to Microsoft in
1996 for a mere 331 million dollars, that they have already invested over 291
million
dollars in this venture!!! Research for yourself and experience first hand, the
beginning of an incredible opportunity that may provide financial security for
you and your family, for the rest of your life!!!

It was also announced that 5000 Microsoft employees all became millionaires from
stock options offered to Microsoft employees.

Subject: Too good to be true

Dear Readers,

I am    one of ADLANDS'   DIGEST subscribers and have commented before in
this ezine about payment systems for Internet Business especially those in
Africa and other developing countries.
I need your assistance in regard to this International Cash card that I have
signed up for as
http://www.cashcards.net/rep/28859/index.html.

Being from Africa - Kenya - payment systems are difficult and expensive if
not on the whole frustrating. Doing business on the Internet is extremely
difficult as one is forced to use systems that still use snail mail like
bank cheques and money orders. This really puts a huge disadvantage on the
business. When the business is targeted on the local people there seems to
be no way out...... that is ......until I found the International cash card.

This Card, to me, looks to be too good to be true and I need any and all
expert advice on it before I jump from the deep end with eagerness.

Please investigate and advice.

Thanks,

Mutinda Kisio

From:Harvey Abel
Subject:http://www.bestlottos.com

Hi Bogdan:

As far as advertising in your interesting newsletter, let
me pose a question:

"Would you rather have a few advertisements in a quality
newsletter OR tons of spam in your mailbox?"!!

As it is, my so-called "inbox protector" isn't much protection!!

Well, since I'm here anyway, mayhap your readers would be
willing to review my site? Be gentle folks!! This isn't a full-time
thing I'm doing, plus I wanted it to be sorta 'bare bones' -
quick and easy, get people to the sites without a lotta reading.
         http://www.bestlottos.com

I'm pondering putting in a poll to ask if it should be broken
into two pages because of the content size, by the way. Perhaps
anyone looking at it can also comment on that idea [the number
of pages, that is - not the poll ;-)].

Thanks for the newsletter, Bogdan. My apologies for not having
the adland link in for a while - it'll be back, I promise! But I
made a BIG overhaul of the page, so....!!

And of course, since you're in BUSINESS, why wouldn't you want
to have paid ads in your newsletter - especially since subs are free?!

Cheers from Mr. A!

=====================Site Review Response  (1)===============
From:Irena Whitfield
Subject:http://www.marketingbusinessonline.com

Hello Valdimar,

I'd like to tell you just a few basic words to your site:
You are on the right track to a professional site - your site is in decent
colours, clean, easy to navigate. However, if you intend to be a professional
internet consultant, you need to improve it quite a lot.

I have analyzed only your homepage and state only a few vital points (because of
the limited space here). In case you are interested in all the analysis or need
FREE help, drop me a line:  mailto:iwhitfield@ask.co.uk. Also, you can get FREE
services when
you subscribe to 'Pathway To Success' mailto: ibc3000-subscribe@topica.com.

The basic rule in online business to stick to:
You need people to see what you offer - and if your site loads too long, people
will simply not wait. Full stop.

Your homepage loading times:  31/18/9 for 28k/56K/ISDN. On 56k modem your site
has to load under 10 sec, especially if it is the homepage. Your homepage is
33k/97k! and should be up to 20k/50-60k max. The problem is your design -
composed of pictures inst
ead of based on the code - 25 pictures.

More on the crucial items only, very briefly:
Design:
- designed for too a big monitor, even a 17" needs scrolling right
- the middle and third columns overlap
- Netscape does not show it correctly
- the left navigation bar is too large. The content is the important item,
navigation bars are only a support
- a flexible design is much better. If you insist on a fixed dimension design,
build it for a 15 or 17" monitor, not bigger. Statistics shows that 80% of
internet users have 17" monitors. People do not like scrolling right (I hate
it).

Pictures:  25 pictures - too many

The biggest - 12k - making it smaller gets to 3k. You save 75% on one picture
without your visitors even noticing.

Language:

- avoid mistakes, misprints, empty marketing phrases, black-and-white statements
- correct spaces,
- correct commas: a golden rule: 'when in doubt, leave it out' means if you are
not sure how to use it properly, less is always better

Content is the King:  support it, say clearly what you offer based on what you
know the best

Meta tags:
- keyword tag: should be all lower case letters, without commas, only 3-4
keyword phrases per page
- title: 60 chars, not more, avoid exclamation marks
- description: 200 chars, not more - some smaller search engines require 150
chars max only.

I definitely do not want to make you sad or discourage you. On the contrary, as
I said already, you are on the right track, go on working hard, you will get
where you wish if you persevere.

Irena Whitfield

"HUGE FREE Exposure With A Press Release!"
by A.T.Rendon
© Copyright 2001
All Rights Reserved

The whole process of releasing information to the media
can be very tedious. There are many online services that
will do the job for you for fees ranging upwards of $500.

However, even if you never heard of a Press Release before,
a little online research will yield the SECRETS to establish
your very own release in the format expected by the media
pros who already receive hundreds of submissions daily.

And, just one successful "Press Release" can bring you
HUGE FREE Exposure!

The first import thing to know is the FORMAT.

Nothing will get your Press Release deleted faster than
sending it out in the wrong style with too little or even
too much information.  Send for your free copy below.

FREE Sample of a proper Press Release:
Via Auto-Responder at: mailto:pr_sample@emailexchange.org

If you "know" the basic format for a Press Release, then
you have "Won the Battle" to at least get your info read
by someone that can expose it to a huge audience and all
for the incredible low price of FREE!

That is the whole premise of a Press Release.

You give vital info to the media and they spread the
word as a service to all of their viewers, readers and
subscribers.

If all you have to offer is some chain letter or one of
those, "Give me $10.00 to earn $1,000,000!" do NOT
waste your time or the valuable time of the media rep
to which you eventually email your release info.

I found all the info I needed to create my very first Press
Release by doing a great deal of research online.

It takes many hours of research but basically, all the info
you need to actually create a Press Release can be found
online with just a little digging on your part.

Just go to your favorite search engine and enter in the
words, "Press Release", and you will find a wealth of
information.

Of course, if you do not want to bother with the research,
you can always make use of one of those "Press Release"
services which can run you upwards of $500.

But, as I already mentioned, all the info you need is
online, there for the taking. That is what I did.

Why pay when you can get it for FREE?

My first Press Release was so successful, that after
just one week,  I had to stop taking orders.  It was too
much for me to handle and process.

Better to stop taking orders for something you will
not be able to supply than accept the order and then
be unable to fill it properly.

I got coverage in newspapers, magazines and on TV!

All of this media coverage was given to me for FREE!

And it all happened just because I emailed out around 100
Press Releases! There are literally thousands of such media
contacts. Pick and choose according to what info it is that
you are trying to publicize.

These people can reach millions of people with just one
Press Release. That is why it is so important to tap this
FREE resource for publicity and exposure.

Next week's article, will reveal the basics of a Press
Release which will save you hours of research, and
also detail for you how to tap into the email addresses
of all these media pros.

=====================Joke of the Day   (1)===============

When the wealthy businessman choked on a fish bone at a
restaurant, he was fortunate that a doctor was seated at a
nearby table.

Springing up, the doctor skilfully removed the bone and saved
his life.

As soon as the fellow had calmed himself and could talk
again, he thanked the surgeon enthusiastically and offered to
pay him for his services.

"Just name the fee," he croaked gratefully.

"Okay," replied the doctor.  "How about half of what you'd have
offered when the bone was still stuck in your throat?
