Greetings All

Hey Bogdan

How are you? It's me Bob Dragojevic.
I've been getting your Digest for over a year now & still find it interesting to
read.

I noticed you get an average of 100+ subscribers each issue and was just
wondering what you do to promote your list so "effectively". Of course I don't
expect you to tell me all your secrets
;-)))  but anything you have to offer would be very much appreciated.
Like most publishers, I've hit a brick wall with my subscriber base and need to
get it going again. hope to hear from you soon.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My answer to your question is very simple.
I don't really  put any extra effort into building of this list.
I concentrate on running of my business and offer everybody
option to join my newsletter whenever possible.
When visitors come to my site and want to post their classified ads,
they get an option to subscribe to my newsletter amongst others.
See this page for example.
http://www.adlandpro.com/FreeMemberInsert.asp
Every new affiliate  is becoming a member of this list automatically
as part of the program.
The only hard part is to put  this letter together  consistently as this
requires constant presence and weeding through lots of spam to
extract posts which are of value for everybody.
I guess that quality and interesting content are the most important factors
to keep subscribers on any list once they join.
If your newsletter  is good, you are being recommended and many sites will
link to your newsletter for free. Make sure that you provide info on how
to subscribe to your list in related areas. Your home page should have
easy way to join by just typing email address like I do it here
(right top  part of the page) http://www.adlandpro.com/
I'm losing option to get subscriber name, but I make it very
easy to join.
The bottom line is that you should run your newsletter around
some business.
I would imagine that running just newsletter on its own without
supporting business, takes long time to build and you have to
offer unique content to keep your subscribers interested all the time.
Subject:Pay per lead vs pay per sale affiliate programs
Hello Bogdan & Everyone,
This is in regards to Bogdan Pop's Questions as to the
difference between pay per lead & pay per sale affiliate
programs.
The pay per lead programs work like this.
Say you have a banner on your site for the program.
Someone clicks on it & signs up on the site.
You get paid $1 or whatever they pay you for that signup
or lead.
The pay per sale programs work the same except instead
of paying you just for the lead they will pay you a commission
of the sale which in my opinion is much higher.
As Allan stated in the last issue, it all depends on your
audience. Hope this helps.
Have a great day!!
Subject:Pay per lead vs pay per sale affiliate programs
Answering BP's question:
A pay-per-sale affiliate program pays you a commission
when you refer a visitor to another web site and that
person buys something.
With a pay-per-lead program, the person you refer to the
site doesn't have to buy anything, just take some kind
of action, such as signing up for a newsletter, or
perhaps taking part in a survey. The business is really
paying you for that person's e-mail address, for the lead.
I've published a page of info and tips for beginners here:
http://www.AssociatePrograms.com/search/guide.shtml
There are all sorts of variations on these themes. You
can earn residual monthly income from some programs (such
as web hosting ones) and even lifetime commissions - every
time the person buys from the company, you earn a
commission. Lifetime commission programs are my favorite -
for obvious reasons. You can find about 50 lifetime and
residual income programs at http://www.LifetimeCommissions.com .
(Disclosure: I own that web site  ;-)
Hope that helps.
Subject:Pay per lead vs pay per sale affiliate programs
Hello Everyone.
The question could also be considered from the point of view that some
companies DON'T require you to pay per lead at all.  The company I use does
charge a maximum of $1.00 per lead UNLESS/UNTIL the member chooses to
introduce new members into the system - Introduce 3 new members at your
level, and your own leads are free!
It gets better!  They PAY you an sizeable upfront amount for each new member,
and residuals thereafter.  This makes it possible for novices to partly or
fully fund their leads (and even other sectors of their business start-up
costs) ... If you've got a downline in place, then introduction of the system
can mean rapid growth of your downline, AND a new income with MINIMUM effort!
Hope that this helps!
Subject:Too good to be true
Hello Mutinda,
I'll give you my take on the cash card program.  I like the concept
of a cash card that people can use all over the world to withdrawal
their egold into hard currency, but the problem I see is that there
aren't many people using egold as an online payment option.  I see
alot of games being played with egold and some people are using
egold for online transactions, but there is no easy way to get your
egold account funded and because it is gold your dealing with you
will have to deal with fluctuations in the price of gold on a daily
basis.  If you can convince people to pay with egold then the cash
card is an excellent way to get your money out of the egold account
and is well worth the money they charge for the card.  There are some
new cash cards coming out that are international and you don't have
to deal with egold accounts so you might want to check out one of
these.  I've seen one advertised launching today July 1st and it
also looks good.  Best wishes for your business and I hope you work
this problem out.
From:John Lundgren
Subject:Good Advice Given
Hi Bogdan and Adlanders,
     I am late reading my mail and just read an old post from James
Pendleton of freebonanza.   His post was so excellent especially for
those of us still getting our feet wet on the web.
     He suggest that you go for as much free services as possible
until you know what you are doing.  Had I been given that advice two
years ago , I would not have signed a lease agreement for credit card
use at my site.  The site was a failure and I am still paying for the
2,000 dollar lease agreement that I signed after a popular guru
hailed its benefits.  He benefited to the tune of about $300.00 in
his pocket.
    Times have changed to the better and in some cases to the worse
for the neophytes.  Today, you have a choice of credit card options
that come with a simple percentage of sales such as clickbank and
others. The services that are rendered make the percentages charged a
real bargain.  That is good for the beginner.
   What is bad is that many free services are now changing to paid
services-big time.   Goodbye free Listbot, goodbye easy and free
listing to Yahoo. This is a sad trend for the beginner and I am still
one after three years!   Here is some good news.
    First, DON'T SEND YAHOO 200.00 FOR A LISTING!  The two hundred
dollars guarantees you nothing but a look to see if your site
qualifies.  You get no refund if you are not listed!  Here is a
better idea.
   Go to http://www.1stSearchRanking.com/t.cgi?1103   Here is why.
They will show you how to get listed on Yahoo for free.  You will not
pay a red cent if you can follow their instructions.  They are in
business to do the job for you if you prefer their help.  They show
you how to go it alone first.  They guarantee that you will be listed
on Yahoo and other search engines if you choose their services.
   So what happened to Free?  It's still out there but free seems
to be shrinking.   The good news is that it's still there if you
really look.
Subject:http://www.navehumor.com
Hi everyone,  I'm a long-time reader and I think that this newsletter is one
of the best.
Keep the ads.  Please.  I even click 'em once in a while.  And I like to see
what other folks are advertising.
Thanks for the Laugh of the day.  It really does lighten up things, and for
those of you not in the humor biz, Adland's joke is usually not one of those
jokes that has already made the rounds, i.e. I usually steal it because I
don't already have it.
Having said that, I'd like to invite you all to critique my joke site or
just drop by and raid the jokes.     (Some slightly spicy but no really
filthy ones. )
http://www.navehumor.com
I'm a grown up so I can take it straight straight.  One thing that I need to
fix about that site  is to make it more obvious that members can select
their favorites  from the database then they will all pop up on their custom
home page.   The other thing is that they can earn free advertising by
submitting jokes.   Suggestions appreciated.
Subject:http://www.skyeman.com
Hey fellow Adlanders,
I have been working on a site for a few weeks now originally intended as a
one-click link to all those "paid Mail' sites, it has evolved into much more.
Although it is still in the 'construction' stages I would appreciate a review if
anyone has the time.
http://www.skyeman.com
I'm sure I'll still be tinkering away with the site for the next few years:-)
BTW I am thinking of adding another page of links to a variety of other sites -
non MLM.  along the lines of the two 'odd' links at the bottom of the home page.
these belong to friends of mine at this stage they are not being charged for.
all comments appreciated
Hi Bogdan,
Would appreciate a review and evaluation of our new web site:
http://www.LowCostTraining.com
Thanks in advance to the folks performing the review.
Also, in regard to the question of paid subscriptions, I believe
the answer is at the top of each issue of your newsletter. Seems
to me if you are gaining a couple hundred new subscribers
each issue you'd not want to change the formula.
Keep up the good work!
Another One Bites the Dust
ByGail Hornback
Its becoming a common occurrence.  Another free E-Service
discontinuing its free option.
This week it was Listbot.  Listbot, a division of Microsoft,
has been one of the leading free mailing list services for
quite sometime now.  In fact, it has some sentimentality for
me since it was one of the services that was instrumental in
the early stages of my Ebusiness experience!  It allowed me
to get my feet wet, and establish my ezine before I had any
capital to invest in necessary resources.  Luckily for me, I
had made the transition in my own timing!  Unlike many others
who are now forced to find other option.
Of course, Listbot has given their thousands of free service
customers six weeks to get their lists together and find
another option.  And, of course, Listbot is giving all those
thousands of customers their NEW list server option - at
$149 for the "first year".  I noticed they placed that word
"first" in the announcement too, for whatever that's worth.
The internet has been a boom-town, gold-rush kind of place over
the past few years.  It wasn't that long ago that there were
free E-Services EVERYWHERE!  From free list servers, to free
websites, to free ISPs and free hosting services.  But things
are obviously changing.  The promotional value of free is
apparently not a forever kind of thing.
Other examples of free services pulling the plug:
1) Yahoo -  Recently began charging a fee to apply for a listing.
To get listed on Yahoo now, you must pay a fee and submit your
site. There is no guarantee you will get listed and the fee is
not refundable.
Existing listings are effected because the spyders are programmed.
They've also implemented a number of rules that qualify a site for
acceptance or rejection. For instance, splash pages or mirror pages
and also meta tags are ignored. The search goes to page content.
You apply for a listing and hope they accept you. If you are in
good standing you stay. The old listings will be filtered out over
time so it doesn't cause a shock effect. In other words, sites like
Microsoft and all the big guys are protected. Obviously, its a great
way to weed out the little guys.
2) BigStep - Free site and hosting services. The changes they
made put quite a few people in a bind,too. They suddenly
announced to their users that the service would be going to
9.95 a month.  Of course, they gave them 30 days to
opt in or not. BUT -if users wanted to leave and go somewhere
else, they couldn't download or salvage the sites they put all
the work into with the online builder because there is no FTP.
It was pay, or lose their site. On top of that, if users did opt
to pay the $9.95 a month and keep their site, they STILL got
the BigStep Promo Banner at the top of their site. What a deal!
(*Note:  There IS a way to salvage a BigStep site. A little work,
but do-able.If you are in this predicament, get in touch with us,
and we will help you through.)
These are only a couple of examples.  It's happening everywhere.
Is it a process that was always in the plan? Kind of like the old
bait and switch?  Hard to say. And it doesn't really matter.  It's
happening everywhere.  And Ebusiness owners  need to
take notice - and stay ahead of the plan!
Don't ever put all your eggs in one free basket!!!  Keep in mind
that the trend is snowballing. Spend the time necessary researching
products that you can afford, that will give you the quality service
your Ebusiness can depend on.  Don't be forced into a hasty decision
because the plug has been pulled on you.  You've worked too hard
to get this far!!
