 =================Success Story=====================
 From:Geoff Dodd

 Hi Bogdan,

 MY UNEXPECTED SUCCESS STORY

I was not a firm believer in MLM programs
until early June when an unexpected sign-
up turned the tide of my Internet Destiny
 forever.
Let me outline the steps of what exactly
happened, so that your readers might
learn how having faith in multi-level
marketing might some day bring them
 long term wealth!
My sponsor at GoingPlatinum was smart
enough to keep mailing lists and he
passed on 'inside information' being for
'Team Leaders only..'  'top marketers are
needed to take this to the Internet....'
You know, the pre- pre-Launch hype you
 get, 'get involved early', basement/ground
floor opportunity, 'high position in the
 matrix'......  all that!
[Which I now take very seriously! Give it
 due consideration!]
 The pre-launch was for
 TheSuccessWebsite:
 http://www.thesuccesswebsite.com/1600/
which I remember thinking was a lot like
 'Sixfigureincome'.. though 'TSW' runs a
5x7 forced matrix compensation plan, so
'the quicker I was to get started..' true: 'the more spillover would drop like
manna from Heaven into my matrix.'

Well, spillover was all I could score, from
January to 2 June. It wasn't for a lack of
trying... For months I made doorways, gateways, pop-ups, mailed to safe opt-in
lists, e-mailed friends and family...but the KEY was to meet and chat with one
key networker, operating out of South Korea.

A surprise e-mail came. He had seen my
page in 'NoMoreHits' in his browser start-
up (exchange) and said that he was a
Team Leader of 1,000. Later, I learned
that 'Mr M.' was a 25 year old student of
 mechanical engineering. Once he joined
'TSW' he got to work: stayed up 2 days &
2 nights building lead-in websites, one in
English (for The States) and one in Korean.

It all happened like lightning around one
 week-end, and here's what I wrote:

"Just this past weekend.. wow, I entered it with 3 subscribers in my TSW
downline, and I've exited with 65 subscribers.. actually it's growing so fast I
 can't keep count!"

Ever since that magical weekend I've seen
an endless stream of messages: 'Your
 Success Website business just grew..'
and my downline now numbers about 300.

So, Bogdan and readers, don't stop dreaming..
those MLM dreams. Dream Bigger and more often. Then.. promote. Chat!
If the business schools have already
acknowledged that most marketing will be
transacted the multilevel way in the 21st
Century..  accept it. Embrace it. I now
believe it, and if you want to inspect a
 clean ship, just visit:

 =================Featured Post=====================
 From:Linda Caroll

 Hello Bogdan and fellow members;

I am writing to reply to two posts - and to make a special
offer and provide a little helpful advice for fellow members.

The following two posts were both in digest #248....

  From:GMS
I have no website but have joined many affiliate programs.I have an
extractor program.how do I advertise without losing my ISP.

  From:John Lundgren
...  Had I been given that advice two years ago , I would not
have signed a lease agreement for credit card use at my site.
The site was a failure and I am still paying for the 2,000 dollar
lease agreement that I signed after a popular guru hailed its
benefits. He benefited to the tune of about $300.00...

Preying on the "wannabee" is an industry in itself - in
many fields. It runs rampant in regard to online business.

There are tons of people that will happily sell you their
marketing program or tell you "the secrets" of success,
etc - for a price, of course.

This theory of preying on the "wannabe" is seen particularly
well in the two posts I refer to.  GMS seems to think that
he/she doesn't need anything but an affiliate tag and an
 extracted list to make money.

 Bull-pucky.

Thousands of people are selling the same programs as
GMS.  Many of them have worked hard to build a rapport
and reputation with their visitors or ezine readers.

GMS has nothing to offer that thousands aren't already
offering. But - the people that sold the lists are succeeding
because people like GMS buy lists & extracting software.

John L. also made a good point.  He didn't need a
2,000.00 merchant account lease when clickbank or
some other lower cost service would have allowed him
to see if his product/service was viable.

Go go guru.  Pardon the sarcasm.

Does that mean you should use all "freebies?" No!
It just means you need to use your head about what you
 do and don't pay for.

Sites that use all freebies don't succeed, either.  Why?
Because a visitor to your site is going to see that you
use all freebies and wonder how legitimate you are if
you won't even spend a few bucks to run your business.

They will assume you're not a "real" business and move
on. They will buy from the person that was willing to get
a decent website built and pay a few bucks to host it.

What qualifies me to say these things? This is what I
do for a living.  It's how I pay for the house and the car,
the bills and the frills.  I teach people how to make
 their online businesses work.

Take one client for example. When she came to me,
her site was failing. She was ready to take it offline.
I re-developed her site and worked with her marketing.
She was recently listed in the Forbes Top 50 and
 her business is booming. (koacoffee.com)
(If you visit, tell her Linda sent you.)

So, for what it's worth, here's my words of advice.

If you have a site that's a pile of affiliate links and
banners - and nothing else of value - don't quit your
day job. And don't waste a lot of money to try
 make it work.

If you have a viable business and don't know how
to make it work, or your website just isn't doing
the job it should - I'd like to make you an offer.

I'm working on a book of my "success stories."
I'd like to offer some free consulting and a discount
on any design work to anyone that comes to me
from Adland.... and a feature spot in the book, too.
For more info, I've put a special page up, at:
 http://www.lindacaroll.com/adland

In conclusion - before you spend any money on
anything - ask yourself - are you spending money
on a reasonable product or service, or are you
falling victim to those that prey on the wannabe??

Best of luck - and thanks for the ear.

 Sincerely,
 Linda Caroll

Noticed your comment about not giving "yahoo $200 for search engine

a website noticed on major search engines. What did I miss here? I thought

As a member of no more hits most of the site i see are mlm or affiliate
sites. I am primarily a b to b computer and printing dealer with real
legitimate products - about 150,000 of them - how do i promote my site?

 Norm Rosner

Norm, my suggestion would be take your
"specials" and created a well crafted sales letter
for each one.  Promote the sales letters to a
targeted audience with a link directly to the
 product.

Your problem is that if your traffic is primarily
from mlm/affiliate programs you aren't targeting
 your market properly.

 Hope this helps,

 From:Andy Sparks
 Subject:No more hits/MLM Sites only

This is in response to your post on Adland Digest.

There are a million ways to advertise a site. If I had a site like yours, I call
them catalog sites, because they have pictures and descriptions of products
available to order. I would write a separate page for almost every item. These
pages need to be optimized for the search engines. I don't know if you want to
host the pages on your site or get another domain. That is your call. If you
write your own pages, you can just put them on your server. If not get another
domain. I use site build it from DR Ken Evoy http://www.sitesell.com/?967andy It
analyzes the pages for you and makes it much easier to get top ranking in search
 engines.

Now the purpose of these pages is not to link from your main page for customers,
but the exact opposite. These pages if optimized for search engines will bring
targeted traffic to your site. Make a page for each product that you normally
have in stock. Some where in the course of describing the product, include your
buy it now buttons. Also provide a link to your main site mentioning another
 product or a special.

Here is an example of what I am talking about.
 http://www.967andy.com/alabama-real-estate-for-sale-by-owner.html and
 http://www.967andy.com/arkansas-real-estate-for-sale-by-owner.html When some one
searches for real estate for sale by owner in any state, they are probably going
to see one of my sites which leads them directly to
http://www.yourrealestateforsale.com . I just made the entry pages and they
haven't been spidered yet, but the concept works because I use it already.

 I hope that helps you.

Hello GMS, thanks for letting us know, in advance, that we can soon expect
spam from you. Obviously, without needing a website and using an extractor,
you fully intend to fill our inboxes with unwanted ads for the programs you
 have joined.
You should spend a few moments and read the affiliate agreements to the
programs you have joined and find out if what you propose to do is an
acceptable way to promote your affiliate programs. Chances are it is not, so
once found out you'll forfeit any commissions you would have made.

 Subject:I have an  "extractor" program.

 Regarding GMS's post:

Your post is bound to get a lot of responses but it's obvious you're new to this
game and need to be pointed in the right direction.

#1. By "extractor" program I gather you mean e-mail harvesting software. Ditch
it right now and promise never to use it. If you paid for it chalk it up to
education expenses. E-mail extraction software is the tool of spammers. Become a
spammer and you will not only lose respect from the readers of this publication
but you will be lothed and despised by the great majority of Internet users. Not
only that, but the affiliate programs you joined will have strict anti-spam
policies. Get caught (and you will) and your membership will be cancelled
immediately. Not a good way to run a business don't you think?

#2. If you've joined a lot of programs you really need your own web site and try
to bring them all together with a common theme. If you can't build your own talk
to me, I'll be happy to help.

#3. Try advertising on Yahoo classifieds. A lot of people will tell you that
classified ads are a waste of time, and generally that's true. But Yahoo is an
exception. They bring me traffic and sales. Contact me if you want specific
 instructions.

#4. Try signing up for one of those traffic generating programs. There's been
discussion in this newsletter on No More Hits, but the one I'm getting better
results with is Startblaze - see
 http://www.startblaze.com/cgi-bin/intro.cgi?10209 . It's totally free and easy
 to do.

GMS, there are a thousand ways to promote your programs without resorting to
spam. I could go on and on with suggestions but I'm sure you'll get plenty from
 other readers.

for free I took it. Why spend our money if we're not sure

Hello Bogdan, I have not commented yet on the free issue but now I will and keep
those ads coming and keep this free! I have been using free hosting and even
cheap hosting in the past and discovered some oddities with real cheap hosting
i.e. $6.95 a month and $9.99 a month and did some testing on them and here is
what I discovered. I set up a FFA page and sent auto submissions to them and I
mean alot of auto submissions and the cheap and free hosts all caught right on
to the traffic I was getting and managed to slow those submissions down to a
crawl or even stopped them all together. But out of 10 hosts I tested only one
passed the test ten fold and that was Host4profit. I am staying with host4profit
and never leaving and I opted out of all other hosting gigs. The $24.95 a month
 is well worth it!

Thanks again Bogdan and keep this newsletter FREE!

made put quite a few people in a bind, too. They suddenly
announced to their users that the service would be going to
9.95 a month.  Of course, they gave them 30 days to
opt in or not. BUT -if users wanted to leave and go somewhere
else, they couldn't download or salvage the sites they put all
the work into with the online builder because there is no FTP.
It was pay, or lose their site. On top of that, if users did opt
to pay the $9.95 a month and keep their site, they STILL got
the BigStep Promo Banner at the top of their site. What a deal!

(*Note:  There IS a way to salvage a BigStep site. A little work,
but do-able.If you are in this predicament, get in touch with us,
and we will help you through.)
 <--end --

One can save a BigStep or any othr site by downloading it (unless it is
protected against copying or dwonload). It can be downloaded as HTML, TXT, or
both. AOL does this in a neat way. If need be, one can click the right mouse
button, click View Source, then save that. You should save all your sites and
pages as you make or revise them. Then no matter what happens, you at least
 have your own information.

 Subject:Why don't people like MLM's

Greetings and Salutations fellow digest readers.

I am a new member to this list but a old hand at reading them.  One thing I
see more often than not is the constant barraging of MLM's on the net.

As a active participant in one of the Largest on the web, Feel free to
request more info.. Scrub_sr@hotmail.com, I have been very happy and
actually more successful with it than with most other paid to program's I
 belong to.

So my question is why do MLM's get such a bad rap on the net?

I thank you for time and interest in my questions.

 Hello Everyone,

I have been tinkering around for a couple of years with various internet
business opportunities and have been ripped off with ALL of them.  I recently
found something I could start for free that sounds pretty good.  Problem is, I
can't put an y money into it until I first make some money with it (my wife
would kill me!)  Anyway, I have no problem investing money into advertising once
I am 100% sure I can at least break even.  I would appreciate any input on FREE
ways to promote the b usiness and it's affiliate program until I can make a few
bucks.  At that time I'll probably ask you all for other help and advice.  My
site is http://ld.net/?lowrates2001  Thanks in advance for you r ideas.

 Subject:http://www.potentials-unlimited.org/touchfire/

 Hello Bogdan,
Thanks for the great articles, input, etc.

Would appreciate review and critique of my revised
website.  While I have been realizing a significant
income from sales resulting from visits to the site,
the valued input from your great subscribers as to how
I can improve my earnings is always welcomed.

I have been getting many requests to build similar
sites for them so that they can start benefiting
 financially as well.

While the work involved is not overly extensive as I
use Bizland.com's template - I have absolutely no clue
what to charge people for doing this.  As you will see
from my site, I originally offered to do this for
people for free (since I earn 25% commission from all
sales from their sites) but with more than 80 requests
pending, I have been told that it is only fair that I
do charge a fee for the work involved.

 Suggestions are greatly welcomed.

Hello C.R., you have a fun site, it's hard to find fault when humor sites
are much of an extension of their owner's character, and I don't know you
too well. navigation is easy and the colours you use aren't too bright, so
most text is easy to read.
I do find fault that the window needs to be scrolled to the right when I
have my screen resolution set at 800x600.
Quite good otherwise, keep it up. I even have an idea for free content that
you can add to your site right now!
 Go to:
 http://www.robrob8.com/Content/index.htm
and grab the code. You'll get a free download to offer your visitors that
 changes every day!

 Good luck!
 Robert Lee.

Rikie, your web site is one page long that directs people to a geocities
site that you have and any method of contacting you is only through
 anonymous email services.
Following any of your links just shows pages of banners and ads, no content
or reasons for anyone to join any of the programs that you've obviously
 joined.
 You need guidance.
Take a look at Dating B2B, although it is aimed at non x-rated dating
service webmasters, you'll find some information here to help you design a
 better site.
 Good luck!

 From:Robert Lee

 Hugh,
You page design does look great but the navigation is atrocious. Some pages
open in a new window, some links end at a gif image and you have to use your
back button to continue browsing the site (how hard is it to create a page
with the image on it and have the word BACK under it?)

I find it interesting that your services you offer are leading to another
web site, www.handtech.com and they have the following on their front page:
"On July 3rd 2001, Handtech regretfully announced that it has ceased all
operations. If you are a Handtech Solution Provider, click here for the
 latest information."
Although you are mentioned on the front "Welcome" page on the Handtech site,
"Hugh Smith - St. Louis, MO. is a separate entity from Handtech; it remains
fully operational and ready to answer your technology needs. Please contact
your Solution Provider by email at HBSmith@AllSunshine.com, with any
 questions you have."
I would not order any of the courses from you since the company that you
front for has closed and there is no information about how anyone can
conduct business with you other that your email address.
You need to make your site easier to navigate and you need to offer an
explanation as to why you are working with a business that has closed down.

 Good luck!
 Robert Lee

 Commitment to Entering the CyberWorld!
 By Kathleen Callanan

You've done your homework and you've decided to place your
business on the Internet.  You know which type of Customers you
wish to attract, whether they are Consumers of your products,
Suppliers of your products or Employees who will build, package,
market or distribute your products.  And you've given some
thought as to the color schemes for the web site and its general
content.  Your next step is the decision to build in-house or to
 contract professional services.

That decision will be based on your time-line for completion,
your available in-house talent and your budget commitment to the
ongoing maintenance of the web site.  Let's say you envision a
medium sized web site of 100 pages and your in-house employee is
currently doing other work within your Company.  He or she must
secure your software applications such as 1) an HTML editor for
construction and editing of web pages,  2) a validator utility to
double-check the consistency of the HTML, 3) a file transfer
utility to move those pages from the desktop computer to the
Internet server, and 4) be plugged into your purchasing/finance
department in order to buy what is needed in a timely manner.  Do
 you have that in place?

     HTML Editors:

     Validators:
 http://www.freebonanza.com/tools/HTML_Help/HTML_Validators/

Among your employees there must be a few who demonstrate
reasonable skill levels by virtue of owning their on personal web
pages.  But you must ask, do their sites look professional enough
for the Company.  Granted that you find an individual with an
artist eye, a tenacious grip on HTML writing and a passion for
you to succeed, it is likely this person will spend  an average
of 300 hours building your first 100 pages to your satisfaction.
If you give them the ability to commit money without consulting
you, they can easily spend 24 hours finding the best server for
hosting and securing your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and
another 16 hours obtaining the domain name at the best price.
You may be looking at more than 2 months before your web site is
 up and running.

        Domain Name Registration:

No matter whether you do design in-house or by contract, you will
need a Chief Information Officer to determine the content for the
site and a third person/contractor to photograph your products
and prepare the digital images for the designer.  If you
currently publish a catalog, your present graphics contractor can
do the digital images and your textual content can be lifted from
the catalog layout.  The designer will have his hands full just
 making your wishes become reality!
        Graphics:

Just because the site is available on the Internet, people will
not find it unless it is promoted and advertised, both online and
offline.  Promotion can be a full time job!  But you probably
already have an advertising department who looks after your
catalog.  Begin by placing your website address or URL on your
catalogs so people will begin visiting your site.  The real
promotion, online, requires daily and weekly routines.  Again,
this can be done in-house or by contract.  The decision is yours
about committing resources of dollars, time and talent to this
 Internet project.
         Promotion:
 http://www.freebonanza.com/Business/Website_Development/Promotion/

Choosing a professional for your web site designer will allow you
to leave your employees doing what they have been trained to do
and will most likely reduce the lead time for your Internet
project to be up and running.  The professional knows about HTML,
knows about ISPs and Host Servers, knows what is visually
acceptable and what is not, knows how to minimize loading times
so you don't lose customers, and knows about online marketing and
direct emailing.  All this knowledge comes for a price, but as
the saying goes, "The Worker is due his Wage!"

 Best regards,
 Kathleen Callanan

 =====================Joke of the Day   (1)===============

Hey, boss I not come work today I really sick.  I got headache, stomach
ache and my legs hurt, I not come work."

The boss says:  "You know Carlos I really need you today.  When I feel
like this I go to my wife and tell her to give me sex.  That makes me feel
better and I can go to work.  You should try that."

Two hours later Carlos calls:  "Boss, I did what you said and I feel
great, I be at work soon. You got nice house."
