Let me throw my two cents in on this subject. There are undoubtedly some good
programs out there. The one we belong to is called Qixtar, and is one of the
few profitable MLMs, or any other kind of businesses, on the web. Thousands
of products and services, and a compensation program that's second to none.
Check it out at <http://www.ina.net>

Subject:Looking for a good MLM Program

Hello Binod,

Yes. You can look for a company that's been going for some years. It has
established its credentials, and if it's over five years old, it has passed
the threshold and likely to continue its operations. However, older
companies have done a great deal of growing, and those who joined in the
early days have often established massive (and lucrative) downlines. Their
product is out there, being marketed by a legion of representatives The
competition, in other words, can be fierce. It can be harder to develop your
business.

You have to remember one thing. The established company of today was a new
kid on the block a few years ago. Sure, many companies HAVE fallen by the
wayside. But those that survived have richly rewarded the people who worked
for that survival! So a better approach, in my opinion, is to identify a new
or even pre-launch company that's in an active sector of the economy, with
sterling credentials, and which has a lucrative payment plan.(Needless to
say, I have a recommendation.)

Do It All Travel doesn't launch until next month. Travel is a four TRILLION
dollar industry, and it is an industry that is growing at a remarkable rate.
Do It All Travel is positioning to do to Expedia.com and Travelocity what
they did to store front Travel Agencies. The company is the brainchild of
Miles Dupree, whose existing company, Pro Logic Systems, includes amongst its
clients American Express Travel, Ryder Trucks and Carnival Cruises.

So much for the active sector of the economy and sterling credentials
criteria.

The pay plan for Do It All Travel representatives is unique and many faceted.
The best remuneration structures have been blended to create a profit
potential that is unequalled.

Don't take my word for it. Listen to a short telephone overview of the
business
(415-273-3921 Box 2), and if you want to know more, give me a call on (301)
390 4351. Alternatively, e-mail me at gregjmac@aol.com <mailto:gregjmac@aol.com>. My advice is not to
delay.

Even if you decide against Do It All Travel as a business, you'll more than
likely come on board as a member - The benefits for anyone who travels, and
who wants to vacation at the best resorts at unbeatable prices, are
irresistible. The public is soon going to find it can't afford NOT to be a
Do It All Travel member! Remember the name - Do It All Travel is going to be
around for a long time, and its founding members are going to be very
contented people.

Best of luck, and see you on the beach!

And, you have just given the reasons why I keep posting that
people "pay" for webhosting and have domain names. But I am
sorry you had to learn this the hard way.

I use <http://www.jumpline.com> which is $14.95 per month for
their standard plan. Quite frankly, I think they have the best
hosting company for the buck because of what they offer in the
admin area. See this page and scroll down for what they
offer -- it is impressive:

<http://www.jumpline.com/compare_plans.shtml>

Now what I like is they are up 99 percent of the time and have
been for the 3 years I've been with them. Another thing I like
about jumpline.com is I have my site <http://www.agoodread.com>
on it for $14.95 and I can resell to myself for my other site
<http://www.trabar.com> for $12.50.

If you are a web designer with many accounts, you'll want to
look at this page:

<http://jumpline.com/resellers.shtml>

And, yes they also have an affiliate program where you can earn
$30 every time someone hosts their site with them and you've
referred them. You'll notice I don't have my affiliate
referral number in this post because I just want to help people
get a good web hosting company.

Hello all Adland People!
I'd like to respond to Lorraine Innes about a good web hosting company.
When I built my web site, I had no idea what to do with it once it was done.
I asked a few friends about domain names and web hosting but they were
speaking a language I didn't understand. One told me he had been using
HostSave and it was quite cheap and their customer support was fantastic.

So I visited their web site, www.hostsave.com <http://www.hostsave.com> and of course, there was
plenty of stuff there I still didn't understand. Being a newbie, I emailed
them with what they probably thought were stupid questions but to me it
meant the world to get answers in plain English. They replied within 24
hours and gave me explanations in words that actually made sense. I
communicated with them several times and then decided to register my domain
name and host my web site with them.

They have been absolutely wonderful. Every time I have emailed them with
questions, they have always answered within 24 hours. My domain name cost
me $20 for one year and the hosting services only cost $6.95/month. Since I
am in Canada and when I buy something in US funds it costs me approximately
1.5 times the price, of course fees were a big deal to me. I also use
FrontPage and it didn't cost extra to have FrontPage extensions with
HostSave (some do charge you for that). Staff at HostSave have been very
helpful to me as a newbie in this kind of business, and they are very
reliable as far as hosting goes.

I strongly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a host. They don't
have a MLM or affiliate program to make money, but if you do refer someone
who ends up hosting their site with them, you do get one month free. Feel
free to use my site as a reference <http://www.my-biz-world.com> , it would be
greatly appreciated. :-))
Best of luck to you!
Mireille

The web hosting company I would recommend to you is NoMonthlyFees. I have used them for

(if this wraps in your email client copy and past into your browser address bar)
The set-up cost is higher than most, but as their name suggests, their are no monthly fees, and my
experience is that your costs will be lower in the long run. You also get a free domain name that remains
free for the life of the account, so there are savings there as well. If you need help getting your site published

familiar with him he has build a $5 million business
on the net.

Jim Daniels (www.make-a-living-online.com <http://www.make-a-living-online.com> and
<http://www.bizweb2000.com/>) also has his story about
losing his site do to a poor web host. Both of them
and many more top companies that I have found use
Virtualis (which became Adgrafix and is now
Hosting.com). If you go to the following URL
<http://ptomasello2.adgrafix.com> They do have 24/7 live
customer service so I am sure that there will be
someone who can answer your questions. You can
register your domain here for $15.

Also another option would be to work with the package
that Ken Evoy offers on SiteSell
<http://www.sitesell.com/pathwaystohealth.html> it is
called Site!Build It! You don't have to know any HTML
and it will do Search Engines and much more. Ask
anyone about Ken's reputation in the business and he
has a very good guarantee. The package is not
expensive and he will host your site and you can get
your domain there also.

Hope all of this helps. Let me know when you have
your site back on line I would like to see it.

Subject:Links Popularity

Hi Judie,
My advice would be to avoid the link popularity programs and instead buy Express Business Listings at Yahoo and LookSmart.
These important directories will give you two important high-quality links that are worth more than lots of unrelated links.
My experience with link popularity schemes is that Google and Yahoo will penalize your web site in their index if they detect that
you are a member of mass link popularity schemes.
Once you have the Directory Listings in Yahoo and Looksmart, also try to get a listing with the Open Directory, and progressively
approach sites related to your business asking them to swap links with your web site. In this way you will have a bona fide set
of high-quality links.

If the content is there the reader will be more inclined to

There have been many positive comments about DHS Club.
I also was a VIP member for approximately 6 months. While I had a supportive upline, my results were
negative. I had nothing to show for my monthly fee of $29.95. I did not find the "savings" from shopping particularly
attractive as the product selection was/is not very good. But that did not really matter as the emphasis from the upline
was on recruiting more club members.
Bottom line is that regardless of program, to be successful requires continual recruiting and sponsoring.
Unless you are good at doing this, then find a business or company with great products that you can share or
sell to friends, family and acquaintances.

From:Amil Nath
Subject:All about Search Engines

Hello Bogdan and fellow Adlanders,
I have put together a synopsis of my work on 'searching the Internet' and
'how to draw information in a more efficient manner'. This is not meant to
be a writing of authority. Most of it is a result of what I found after a
close study of the complete range of search tools available. The result was
a creation of my own...
So here goes...
The mammoth amount of useful information available over the Internet is
difficult to describe using conventional terminology.
Are we utilising this almost infinite resource of information to our best
advantage? To be able to search quickly and effectively, it is important to
get some background about search tools and the different alternatives
available.
With the Internet growing at such a rapid pace, it is not practical to keep
track of the latest on a day-to-day basis. There would be a few who don't
use the Internet to seek some kind of information on a daily basis. To do
this we use search engines. How good is our choice?
What are the broad types of search tools available?
Crawler-Based Search Engines
Crawler-based search engines, such as HotBot, create their listings
automatically. They "crawl" or "spider" the sites submitted to them, then
people search through what they have indexed. If the content on an indexed
web page changes, crawler-based search engines find and update these changes
every 15 - 45 days.
Human-Powered Directories
A human-powered directory, such as Dmoz <http://www.dmoz.org/> , depend on
human reviewing and listing. Human editors review and index sites submitted
to them. Changes in listed sites are not automatically updated, as there is
no automatic crawling procedure like search engines have.
"Hybrid Search Engines" Or " Mixed Results Engines"
In the web's early days, a search engine either presented crawler-based
results or human-powered listings. Today, it is extremely common to find an
amalgamation of both. e.g. Yahoo <http://www.yagoo.com/> and Google
<http://www.google.com/> . Usually, a hybrid search engine will favour one
type of listings over another. For example, Yahoo is more likely to present
human-powered listings and Google its crawled listings.
Meta Search Engines
Meta search tools send your query to multiple search engines and present the
first 10 - 30 results from each on a consolidated and formatted results
page.
Unified Search Tools
Unified search tools query a number of search engines one at a time from a
single window. The advantage of using this type of search tool is that you
get the complete range of results form each search engine you query. These
tools are updated with the latest search engines on a regular basis. (You
must remember that Meta search tools on the other hand only present the
first few results of all the queried search engines. This is a drawback
since, the first 10 - 20 results may not have what you are looking for.)
Browser Search Bars
Browser search bars are browser add-ons to enhance the browser's search
capability.
Drawbacks Of Search Engines
Not up-to-date in their indexes. Search engines update their records once
in 15 -40 days. Directories only update when sites are resubmitted to them
and have no automated system of updating their databases.
Surfer has to make intelligent queries to find the right results quickly.
May contain dead links of sites which no longer exist.
1,000 common queries account for well over 10% of all search engine usage.
Some engines present cached results to save time, as against referring to
the index and compiling unique results.
Some directories like Yahoo have a directory structure which needs to be
more intuitive. Surprisingly Yahoo still has to its credit, 60 - 70% of the
market share!
Some search engines sell the top spots for keywords.
My Observations
I have closely monitored search engines, directories, meta search engines
and other search tools for some time. Listed below are samples of my
findings....
Only about 16% of the resources on the Internet have been indexed by search
engines.
The most popular search tools used by the browsing community are not always
the best or the most effective.
For effective searching, one search engine may not be enough.
A meta search engine has many drawbacks when used as a primary search tool.
It is however effective as a supplementary search tool.
Yahoo is not the best place to search in a hurry. It has a good database of
sites but its searchability is poor because they don't index page meta
information. One needs to browse through the category tree, which is far
from intuitive and the arrangement is a point of hot discussion.
What Is The Solution For Effective Internet Searching?
A multi-pronged search strategy for searching the Internet is the preferred
solution.
1) First try your query on one of the good general search engines. The most
widely acclaimed search engine today is undoubtedly Google.
<http://www.google.com/> Google uses a smart algorithm to analyse your query
and its results are so relevant, that it's almost uncanny. Another upcoming
general search to use engine to watch is Teoma. <http://www.teoma.com/>
Arrange your query well
(Please Note: most search engines have variations of the advanced query
syntax. You should go to the help page or the advanced search page for the
exact format. The examples below only illustrate what the possibilities
are.)
Queries can be single words, multiple words or phrases.
e.g photos
e.g. photo editing
e.g "free photo editing online"
Queries can be a combination of a single word and a phrases or two or more
phrases
e.g examples+"photo editing"
e.g. "photo editing"+"photo galleries"
e.g. "Britney Spears"+"official site"
Names of people should be in upper / lower case and in double quotes
e.g. "Britney Spears"
Phrases should be enclosed in double quotes which would give you an exact
match in the results.
e.g. "puppet on a string"
e.g. "where eagles dare"
e.g. "fair is foul and foul is fair"
There is something known as Boolean logic which helps to narrow down the
results of your query. There are three main Boolean operators / connectors:
AND OR NOT.
AND example (replaced by + in certain engines)
Query = John AND Brown ---- gives you results about all the Johns and all
the Browns
OR example
Query = equations OR equasions ---- Finds results for both words
individually
This is best used when you are not sure of the right spelling.
NOT
Excludes the part after NOT in the results.
e.g. cricket NOT India
Try the following on <http://www.google.com/> as an experiment.
(The syntax used below can be used in many popular search engines)
"photo editing software"+free+downloads
"free photo editing online"
"+jpg"
"*jpg"
"car+jpg"+"trucks"
"formula1"+Ralph+photos
"+car+.jpg"
2) Next try an Internet 'hybrid like Yahoo <http://www.yahoo.com/> or
directory like Dmoz <http://www.dmoz.org/> Your query should be a broad term
under which your actual search word / phrase would fall. This would
generate some direct results and some categories and sub categories which
you should browse to find exactly what you are looking for.
Yahoo and Dmoz both offer on their home pages, a tree of categories which
can be browsed. This is not an efficient way of searching on Directories as
the hierarchy of listings is difficult to relate to. Searching Yahoo by
querying with very specific keywords produces unsatisfactory results.
3) If the information required is not easily found in step 1 and 2, there is
another breed of tools dedicated to searching the Internet in a very
effective manner and they are particularly suited to the needs of
researching students. (where research implies a student looking for
specific information in an area of high speciality) We may call these tools
"other search tools".
These browser based search tools use, what I call 'query string linking' as
against hyper-linking to many search resources, arranged in categories. The
surfer enters the query in the search field and selects a resource to
search, to directly reach the search results without going to the home page
of that particular resource. The search resources queried by these search
tools include general search engines, subject specific search engines, and
searchable subjects specific sites.
These search tools also referred to as unified search tools or all in one
are only found if specifically searched for, since they are not promoted by
big corporates and cannot afford massive advertising budgets required for
better visibility through real world media and Internet advertising. These
search tools could turn out to be the most effective additions to the surfer
or research student's search tool set . One such search tool is:
Search Ezee Power Search Engine
<http://www.searchezee.com/>
SearchEzee queries over 200 of the top search engines, meta search engines,
directories and topical resources, in an easy to use interface. The search
engines are arranged in the following categories or engine sets:
General
Country Specific
English Language Ref
Language Translators
Freeware / Software
Photos, Encyclopedias
Topical Ref
Medical Ref
Computers & IT
News & Sports,
Law
Music - Video
Kids - Learning, Personal
Please excuse the length of this writing. I find this topic quite
fascinating. I would love to hear a different point of view or about
something I may have misrepresented.
With warm regards to all,

Subject:My last Post

Hi, was reading your last newsletter when I found the post I sent in
responding to Robert Lee's post about a non spaming ffa site. I was
shocked to see that the first two paragraphs that set up what I was
talking about was not included, thus I was quoted out of context. The
other comments about matts script archive and the animated gif's also
sent in separately I thought was going straight to the people that
posted not to the letter. I would have given more details if I
understood this was going to happen. I feel this is probably some sort
of technical problem or me not understanding the system as I have read
and responded to your letter before without this happening. However to
set this strait I do feel you should print my entire comment not just a
portion so here is my original comments regarding Robert Lee's post
about non spaming ffa sites in letter #253. The reason I sent this in
is I do not agree with Robert this time (he does have a lot of great
info he has shared here though that I like reading and do agree with)
that a conformation letter sent in response to a post to a ffa site you
host constitutes a spaming ffa site. however abuse of these systems
do. I hope what I tried to say will now be clear.
So here it is:
Just read your newsletter and noticed a comment about a spam free ffa
site. I have been on line sense the bbs world and have hosted my own
ffa script and stopped many moons ago. Maybe this will help some better
understand this issue.

Think about the reasons you would have an ffa site, I know mine was to
have people come list there site and MAYBE while they were there check
out my site. I think in the beginning this is what the idea was in
addition to maybe increasing search engine hits.
I soon found out unless you have a huge amount of traffic nobody list
much of anything so it is not useful to me or to my shoppers who come by
and want to browse many links. Ha ha I figured I know where I can
register my ffa site for automatic submissions and get many links. I
did this and sure enough got many links every day however because most
of these people were using automated software and services they never
saw my site or even new where they were listed..
This is when I decided to use and automatic conformation letter. I felt
this was a fair trade for the free use of my bandwidth and my policing
and managing the site to remove porn and multiple listings. Also this
lets the listee who uses automated software or pays to have it done know
they are in fact getting listed. When I listed using submission tools I
wanted to see many conformations so I knew I was out there.....how else
do you know, check them all out??? (of course this was sent to a special
address so it did not clog my regular mail )
I did not add these e-mail names to a list or even keep the names. I
did not even send advertising, just a confo in the subject line and a
letter about spam if they cared to read it. This is the difference
between a spamming ffa site and a non spamming ffa site, only one
conformation NO LIST BUILDING. unfourtanaly this is what ffa sites have
become is mailing list builders.

The reason I stopped using my ffa site or submitting to any of them all
together is because people started using auto responder addresses when
listing to my site to respond to my conformations and then put me on
there regular list to spam me forever more. In addition many ffa site
owners started using there systems to farm names and send out repeated
advertising with the guise it was a conformation to a resent listing
making any ffa site untrustworthy.

All the ffa site ever did for me was to load my mail box with junk take
my time and have people add me to there list.....what good is that!
This is what happens when a good idea is abused by greedy people with no
morals or education about the spam issue or understanding of the proper
use of a former good tool!.
Thanks for the ear...
End of quote from last mailing......hope this clears things up!!

I'm going to give you a simple non-MLM program

Subject:Spam or not Spam?

Dear all,

Ever since I started doing business on the Internet, I have been receiving lots of emails that try to sell me something.
These emails also claim that they are not spam. Specifically, they claim that they cannot be
construed as spam because they fulfill the following:
Under Bill s.1618 TITLE III passed by the 105th US Congress this letter cannot be considered Spam
as long as the sender includes contact information & a method of "removal".

My question is: is the above cited bill for real or is it just made up by some scam marketers trying to
convince us that we have not been spammed although we actually have been? I usually just delete these
emails away. What about the rest of you? Do you do anything about them?
Thank you.
Regards,
Valerie Tay

Is Your Promotion Strategy Outdated?
by Christian Schneider.

Which resources do you use to advertise your online
business?
Do you warm up your Super Duper Monster FFA Submitter
that submits to 300,000+ sites?
You enter your carefully written Killer Ad into the submission
form, click submit!
BANG your sites hit-counter begins to sizzle because of
thousands instant visitors, all ready and open minded to buy
what you have or to sign your paid opportunity.
This is, what much services out there sell. Instant traffic by
using their ffa-submitter that posts to hundreds of thousands
sites.

But what is the reality?
Does it really generate that massive traffic?
Bah, up to 20 hits per submission, if any!
Sales? Nope!

BUT hightraffic to your email-account. Within an hour its filled
with hundreds messages that urge you to sign their
programs, to purchase their services/products.
Since you're not interested what their offer is, you're clever
and you delete these emails automated - right?
Then my friend you give away the only small chance to
produce some traffic, because much ffa-networks changed
their rules and you have to confirm the submission before
your link gets published within the networks.
If you don't confirm, they don't post your ad.
For example: TrafficWave, FFA-USA-Net are working that
way

Now, some people tell you, not to post, but to host an ffa
page because the build in autoresponder sends your
marketing message each time one posts to your site.
Yes, its true, your responder sends possibly hundreds emails
per day, but who will read them? 99% of those emails will get
sent to trash automated or deleted without reading.

So, these days, posting and hosting the ffa-thingy becomes
more and more worthless and becomes a waste of time and
money.
Yeah, now you tell me, you've found THE solution:
,E-Mail your ad to hundreds of thousands optin-subscribers'
You'll get excited about this opportunity, you sign the paid
membership and you'll get:
The list of thousands FREE opt-in lists.
You'll get step by step instructions on how to setup this.
For example:

- setup a free email account
- send your subscription to each optin-list
- waiting until you received the confirmation requests
- send your confirmation to each list
- and now THE trick
- setup your emails Spam filter to delete all email automated

Next you start to send your well written ad to the lists,
waiting for massive traffic.
And what? Only some hits if any.
Like you, 99% of those subscribers got the same instructions
and send all to trash - automated.
It simple doesn't works and its not worth the time and money.
So maybe, now you ask me, what the heck works?

Only some recommendations:
- build your own opt-in list - the money is within the list
- publish your own newsletter - building trust
- submit your OWN articles to ezines/newsletters like this one
- participate at forums
- follow the experts and not the blinds
- use ebooks as viral marketing tool
There are thousands other ways to generate more traffic to
your sites. So be creative and/or follow the proven strategies
recommended by the experts.

How To Pyramid Affiliate Programs Into A Solid Income
by John Colanzi

There are an unlimited number of Affiliate programs on the
internet.
Most of them are designed to put money in your pockets. To
succeed with them you must be dedicated and put in a lot of
hard work!
If you can sell to a "waiting market," you'll make money.

You must make it easy for your recruits to duplicate your
efforts. If you leave them drifting aimlessly without your
direction, you haven't got much of a chance.

It doesn't matter how good your program is. Most affiliates
don't make money. They don't know how to get their offers
to the right prospects at a reasonable cost.

They need your help.
Your first step is to create the most dynamic sales letter
you can come up with.
Your sales letter should be benefit packed, letting them
know that you can solve their money problems. If you can
show them how to earn a solid income they will be eager to
join your program.

Make it as easy as possible for your prospects to sign up.
Keep the costs for getting started affordable.
Many of the affiliate programs even offer Free sign up or a
Free "test drive" of the program before a decision has to
be made.

Marketers have a fear of being ripped off, especially if
your program is a fairly new one.
If the enrollment fees are reasonable or if the program
offers a Free "test drive", a much larger percentage of
your leads will be willing to "take a chance."

Once you've built an educated downline, that is profiting
with your program, it is just a matter of plugging in your
winning formula into the next program.

As each program turns a profit, you can roll into a new
money making venture.
Setting up your system and educating your affiliates for
the first venture will take the most time and effort.
After that you're ready to build your empire one money
maker at a time.
Wishing You Success,
John
