==Integrity Does Your Internet Business Well=====
From:Seqkat
Simple as it may seem and sound, an important tool for your Internet Business
success is integrity. It can prove to be the back bone of your company, or
without it, its downfall.
What is integrity? Defined in the dictionary it means adherence to a code
of
values, incorruptibility. Honesty plays a huge role in integrity, and
diligence, and then humility. Humility, a part of integrity? Oh,
definitely
yes!
Someone with integrity can be trusted, for they are honest. When a person
makes
a mistake, and owns up to that mistake, that shows integrity. Their
character
shines through by their willingness to admit their mistake - that's integrity.
So it is with Internet Businesses and being in the public eye, integrity will do
your business well - and believe me, where it lacks, so will the strength of
your company.
Integrity also breeds something wonderful for your company and that's loyalty
from your customers. Integrity reveals to your customers that you can be
trusted, and that you value them, and so loyalty is the natural response.
So what about the day-to-day business with your customers? At times, customers
will have questions in regards to your products and/or services. Maybe
they
don't understand something, or maybe somewhere along the line something went
wrong. Answering the customers questions with patience and joy shows
integrity
to the customer, that you stand behind what you offer, and you truly care that
they are happy with your products or services.
Companies begin to lose ground - and so begin to lose customers - if they reply
to the customer sharply, and claim that all errors lie with the customer.
You
would think this would be a very obvious point, but I've been a customer to such
businesses and needless to say, I'm no longer a customer there any more, and
then I find from other customers, they've had somewhat similar experiences, and
guess what, they are no longer customers there either.
At times, being a vendor, something may go wrong with the payment from your
customer. The company with integrity will notify the customer and begin
looking
into this, providing the customer with the benefit of the doubt, knowing how
easily human or technological errors can occur. The customer really
appreciates
this, and if something has gone wrong, they're more than happy to correct it.
This goodwill between the business and the customer creates even greater loyalty
from your customer. You know that feeling. Finding just the right
company that
values you for the person you are, and are willing to work with you, treating
you with respect and dignity. You can't wait to do business again!
It is a
delight to discover this wonderful character about a company!
Approaching the customer with accusations shows a company's lack of integrity.
When accusations start, that just breeds anger between the company and customer.
Even if the problem is solved, that customer is gone. Even worse is to
handle a
situation like this publicly! What if the error is on your part, as you accuse
the customer? Imagine your chagrin to find out as the business owner, that
the
error IS with you, or even worse, if the customer gathers evidence it was you!
Who looks bad then? You would think this is an obvious mistake to avoid,
but
sadly, I've been this customer too, presenting the evidence to the company, but
they refused to own up to the error - escaping honesty...lacking integrity, and
so the company weakens.
When approaching your business, step into the customer's shoes. How do you
like
to be treated as a customer? The answer? Treat your customer as if
he were
you, and your company will have integrity, and a great strength which will lead
to success!!
To your success - God bless!
In His Joy,
Seqkat >^..^<

Subject:How to get targeted traffic.
Hi Bogdan;
I am not dead or sick, just really busy. The Real Estate market in Southern
Indiana is very strong right now and I am getting married in November. I haven't
done a site review or added a site to Free Bonanza for quite a while, but I
wanted to back up a statement that you made in the last issue.
I agree with you that traffic generation programs are more trouble than they are
worth. I just switched my start-up page from start blaze back to one of my
domains. I used start blaze for a while and I have purchased traffic from Hit
Harvester, I am much better off buying impressions from Adland Pro or
advertising in a targeted ezine.
My favorite way to generate free targeted traffic is to write a search engine
optimized web page about a specific subject or around a carefully selected key
word phrase that relates to my business. I use sitebuildit from DR Ken Evoy
http://buildit.sitesell.com/967andy.html
because search engine optimization is
built right in to the hosting package. It is not the cheapest hosting package
around but the free traffic more than makes up for it.
Maybe I should give a couple of examples in case some of the new subscribers do
not know what I am talking about. Neither of these pages are direct sales pages
so maybe no one will think I am plugging my business.
I am a real estate broker/auctioneer and I have a page that is step-by-step
instructions for the first time home buyer and it gets some decent traffic from
search engines. http://www.967andy.com/first-time-home-buyer.html
I have other
pages about buying with owner financing, selling with owner financing, real
estate auctions and basically any real estate related subject I could write
about.
One of the things that I do is to search for pages about a certain topic and if
there are not very many, I write one. I couldn't find a real estate purchase
agreement on the Internet that was free. You guessed it, I put one on my web
page and it is now ranked really high in Google. That is good for free traffic
interested in real estate.
I will share one more thing with the Digest, it is an idea they may like. I
haven't had this technique up and running for very long but it shows
considerable promise. I have a web site where I sell real estate ads to Realtors
and people that want to sell their own home. I have written a site review
targeted to each state in the USA and some major cities describing and of course
recommending my own web site. These site review pages are search engine
optimized and seem to be getting decent ranking in search engines. I found it to
be very difficult to get a large page or site ranked well for all fifty states.
It is much easier to get a smaller page ranked well for an individual state or
city.
http://www.967andy.com/arizona-real-estate-for-sale-by-owner.html
and
http://www.967andy.com/alaska-real-estate-for-sale-by-owner.html
Yes there are more than fifty of these pages on my site but they do not have
links to them from anywhere on either of my domains. They are intended to direct
traffic to my site from search engines and it seems to be working.
Splitting the Digest in two was a very good idea. I know it doubled your
workload but both issues are excellent. I appreciate your efforts and wanted to
thank you again for publishing the Digest. I have learned and continue to learn
a lot from the Digest.

Note from editor.
Andy,
I agree with you in regards to optimized pages.
I believe that recent form of optimized pages are just minisites
which are dedicated to narrow topic. Domains cost today
very little and if one wants to be really successful, building
of a page which is an integral part of some other site won't
be as effective as part of its own domain which is related
thematically to the site itself. Just recently I purchased resale
rights of the product which teaches how to build minisites
and generate targeted traffic to it.

Subject:How to get targeted traffic.
Hi,
I have been experimenting with many different ways to get traffic and have found
direct email is the best way to go.
I have been doing both ad swaps in opt in ezines which is great and I have been
sending to ffa leads.
A lot of people do not like ffa leads because people use free email accounts and
autoresponders to receive their confirmations. Many of the addresses are
undeliverable.
All this is true but I have found that if I have thousands of these leads I get
real traffic and sales. Many people actually read these emails.
I even have some junk email accounts that I use to receive these confirmations
and occasionally I peruse the offers and actually find something interesting.
The key is to get thousands of these leads not hundreds. I had signed up with
ffanet.com which sent out about 200 leads per day. Stingy! Come on! Do they
really believe that anyone will get any business sending to 200 ffa leads?
I have been using the leads with the lead club which provides about 4-8000 ffa
leads every 3 days! (http://www.leadclub.net)
People have been subscribing to my affiliate programs, mailing lists and I
have
been making sales.
I use these leads in conjunction with an autoresponder. I put the autoresponder
form on a webpage and send people to that web page. People can subscribe from
there. I usually offer free information in order to entice people to join my opt
in list.
I am more interested in people subscribing to my autoresponder than purchasing
right away. After the 6th or 7th message from the autoresponder many people are
ready to buy.
I do not upload the ffa leads directly to my autoresponder because you only have
the right to email confirmations one time.
If people are interested they can subscribe from my website and then they will
receive the follow ups.
I use http://www.realreply.com
autoresponder service. They have a very good
deal. You can get 50 pro autoresponders for $19.95 or month. This is good if you
have many programs you are promoting.
I have tested this and it is working for me.
You can check out http://www.leadclub.net
if you want to give it a shot.

First timer here. If I'm re-hasing aged materials, please forgive me!
I read with some interest the comments regarding click-thru programs such as
Startblaze, NoMoreHits, etc. I generally agree that they do not create
"targetted" traffic. But I was wondering if anyone has any experience
using
these programs to build in-house mailing lists?
The basic idea is that you promote a Web site that essentially promotes all (or
many) of these programs, all at once. Now some of you are probably going
"huh?"
and I can't really explain this without sending you to a web site that is using
this concept. Hope you don't think this is too self-serving but here are a
couple of different programs. Yes, those are my affiliate links. You don't have
to sign up for anything. Just look at the concept. I'm genuinely interested in
some feedback on using these programs this way. My goal is to capture email
addresses in order to begin building a newsletter and establish relationships
with people. Does anyone know how, or if, this works?

Subject:How to get targeted traffic.
G'day Bogdan and all readers.
I have been submitting ads to countless free ad sites and ezines for 8 months
now as well as using pay-for-clicks at findwhat and search 123.
I've also listed at every search engine and directory I can find through
selfpromotion.com.
All this work gets me around 100 visits per day but it wasn't until I added
adminder to my URL that I saw that by far the majority of my visitors come from
findwhat and search 123 and only a handfull from all the rest.
I would heartily recommend findwhat and a free ad tracker like adminder
to get
an idea how well your ads are doing. Keep in mind that I pay an average of 2
cents a visit from findwhat, which for Jim Daniel's customer's $1500 would be
75,000 targeted visitors. I also use sitemeter and find it fascinating and
very
useful. I must add here that I am not an associate of any of the above sites and
am just trying to help you all succeed like I hope to eventually !
Hope this helps you all,

From:Valerie Tay
Subject:How to get targeted traffic.
Dear Bogdan
I must thank you for publishing Jim's article since I am a
subscriber of Jim's "BizWeb eGazette newsletter" and a believer
of his insight. However, I still need to maintain my position
regarding the issue of untargeted traffic since my experience is
drastically different from yours.
(1) When I first started out, I too was tricked into buying what
Jim calls "trick clicks". I purchased 3000 guaranteed hits to
my site from Bay9, which turned out to be hits generated by
pop-ups. These 3000 hits didn't cost me a lot, only $25, but
the traffic was lousy. I only had 3 sign-ups to my newsletter.
I remember this number clearly because I was truly disappointed
with just 3 leads. Thereafter, I firmly believe in not
purchasing pop-up or pop-under traffic and for that matter, any
advertising that is NOT targeted.
(2) Yet, I still want to maintain that start page programs like
Startblaze and Nomorehits may not be a bad idea. First of all,
it is FREE, so the "flushing money down the toilet bowl" issue
is IRRELEVANT.
(3) Secondly, while it is true that the hits to sales conversion
is bad, I do get sales for every few hundreds hits. That's
acceptable considering that this hit to SALES conversion is
better than the hits to LEADS conversion with the pop-up traffic
I bought from Bay9.
(4) Besides, while it is not realistic to expect reasonable hits
to sales conversion with start page traffic, hits to leads
conversion can be great if some creativity is injected into the
lead enticement process. My associate uses the idea of a "free
eBusiness Starter Kit" to generate leads from start page
programs and the result is surprisingly good. For every 10-20
hits, she gets 1 sign-up to her starter kit. The sign-up
invitation is only a simple pop-under box that appears when her
page loads:
http://www.linkcounter.com/go.php?linkid=183352
(5) I totally agree with you that since your site sells
impressions, you shouldn't be getting this kind of low quality
traffic for the simple reason that your customers pay for
impressions, and you should ensure that those impressions are
good. HOWEVER, for many of us who just want to promote our
sites, newsletters, products, services etc., the fact that the
hits are not qualified is not issue. The issue is whether we
are spending undue time or money on getting the untargeted
traffic. Since I don't pay for traffic from Startblaze or
Nomorehits, and neither do I set aside a special time to surf
for credits; I am wasting NEITHER money nor time. In fact, I
only surf for credits when I am waiting for other important
pages that I am reading to load. Many of us surf with multiple
windows, and I really don't see how opening an extra window to
earn some hits is bad.
That's my two cents worth. Anybody who is still interested in
FREE untargeted traffic may visit:
http://www.linkcounter.com/go.php?linkid=183351
Thanks Bogdan for this wonderful discussion and the rest for
reading. :-)
Warmest Regards,
Valerie Tay

The best way to get subscribers is by offering
something free at your site. I offer a 7-day
e-commerce course and that is how I build my
subscribers' base. You may create an e-book and offer
it to your visitors. If you don't know how to create
an e-book there are many publishers that allow you to
distribute their e-books for free as a gift.
You may send me an e-mail and I will e-mail you a list

Keep in mind that it is important to provide good

Hi Alan,
I am a huge reggae music fan and have recently set up 4 internet radio stations
of my own.
The site is Live365 and it is fairly cheap to buy server space where you can
upload your music. They also allow streaming in either live or relay format.
You can sign up either as a personal broadcaster or a pro.
The pro costs more but lets you have your own player that launches from your own
website and several other advantages. This would be more suited to business and
organizations. i.e. people who can afford $150+ a month. If that is you then go
here for more information - http://www.live365.com/plr/index.html
or contact
Live365 toll free in the US at

(International phone number: 316-665-9365) [and mention my name as your referrer

The personal broadcasting option costs as little as $5 a month, with extras
costing a bit more.
You can either upload the music as MP3 to their servers or you can do relay/live
broadcasting.
You find out more here - http://www.live365.com/broadcast/options.live

Hello Robert,
I don't know these results as banner was done for the customer
and it will take some time to see some representative numbers.
My first reaction was that the banner was really pulling attention and
was not misleading or deceptive in any way.
After reading the short info on the banner itself visitor
was quite aware what the site was about.
Sales will depend mostly on the customer's site ability
to take advantage of the visit as visitor showed interest
through clicking on the banner.
The spider doesn't look real, and it is just merely bringing
attention to the message.
E.g. placing face of woman on the banner might
suggest something to the audience, whereas the spider
is not creating any particular connections.

Hi there Adland Pro members,
Yes there are insidious corporations and individuals that
will feed like maraudering hyenas off your web site.
There means to do this is scumware. Conveniently smothering
your banner or header with their own. So when a visitor to your

ANY CHANCE OF YOU MAKING A $ DISAPEAR FASTER THAN A POPSICLE IN THE SAHARA!
How is this done... if you or your visitor have a copy of gator installed,
or for that matter a number of other software applications, including
a popular popup window killer, this will happen. Gators is fine set to
lob on your top banner perfectly with their own advertising.
Is this legal? Is this ethical?
Well so far Gator.com have been getting away with this. They have even laid
legal suits against one advertising industry association, counter punching
before the association laid suit against them.

Dear Sir/Madam
Did you know that by advertising with Gator.com
you may be creating bad public relations.
The reason being that Gator.com has introduced

by placing their own banner across the sites of

I have written to them about this practise but was told
if I didn't like what they were doing I could easily remove

Since a lot of people are using gator and many of them

Subject:How to have Streaming Audio at your Website
I have a idea for those who want streaming audio in their websites. What I've
seen so far says to provide MIDI files. But their quality is lacking, depending
on how good the MIDI is in the sound card. And the music provided is
repetitious.
Instead, the thing to do is to optionally link to an FM station that provides
24/7 online music of the kind you want at your site, related to the subject
matter. I chose
KBIA 91.3 http://www.kbia.org/
via KIBA Listen Live
http://publicbroadcast.net/kbia/ppr/players/stations/kbia/kbia.asx
,
and selected KBIA Classical 24
http://publicbroadcast.net/kbia/ppr/players/stations/kbia/kbia-c24.asx
.
In my case I wanted classical and sacred, particularly pipe organ. I don't have
the latter yet, but am working on it. But I now have optional classical on my
homepage at
Bible Prophecy Spirit eBooks! http://www.prophecyspirit.com/
.
The HTML and text for it is:
Note: From <B>anywhere in the world</B>, want to begin your Bible
prophecy
surfing by clicking <a
href="http://publicbroadcast.net/kbia/ppr/players/stations/kbia/kbia-c24.asx">KB
IA Classical 24</a>? For Revelation has a lot to say about sacred
(classical)
music. When Player appears, with KBIA,
reduce and hide, or "-" it. The music continues as you surf this site
pages. <a

FAQ # 7 says:
Question 7. Who promotes KBIA Classical 24, and what player does it use?
A. KBIA 91.3, Missouri University, Columbia, MO, U. S. A. It uses Windows Media
Player - for PC Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME, or NT 4.0.

Pauline Wendy Phillips

BE AN ACTIVE PROVIDER!
ByEduardo Queiroz
There are so many business opportunities and affiliate
programs out there that it has become hard for potential
clients to decide which one is the best. If you are a
part of one of these programs, then you know that the
only way to distinguish oneself is to "take that next
step" when it comes to customer service and support.
However, there are different levels of customer service
and support, especially when it comes to affiliate
programs.
I have found that many affiliate programs are "Passive"
in their support. What I mean is that they will give
out their support materials (redirect web pages, banner
links, marketing materials etc.) ONCE, and then just sit
back and let the affiliates do the work from that point
on.
For a new affiliate member, this approach is about as
appealing as being thrown into the deep end of the pool
without knowing how to swim. I suggest that the only way
to provide PROPER member support is to take an "Active"
role in new members' development.
What do I mean by "Active"? Simply this -- when you have
new members join your program, you need to be giving
them support and advice CONSTANTLY, rather then on just
a one-time basis.
Here are a few examples of some "Active" features that
a good affiliate program should have:
* Forums and discussion boards -- with these a new member
can get up-to-date information from other members and
experts in the field. It's also a great way to let
members share experiences and "war stories" with each
other.
* Weekly Conference Calls or "Power Brief" meetings --
When members know they can get updates about the company,
or ask questions of the company, they will feel much more
secure. They will also feel more like they are an
important part of the company (which, of course, they
are!).
* Updated information, marketing materials, and web
content -- it's important that members don't feel like
they are getting help just once. Rather, they should know
that help is always available. By sending out new
materials on a constant basis, member will know that they
are being cared for by the program.
A lot has been written about customer service and support.
Even if you think you have good customer service now, you
should take a step back and see if your service is as
ongoing as it should be.
Make sure that you are ACTIVELY helping new members
and prospects!

=====================Joke of the Day (1)===============
A noted psychiatrist was a guest at a blonde gathering, and
his hostess naturally broached the subject in which the doctor
was most at ease. "Would you mind telling me, Doctor," she
asked, "how you detect a mental deficiency in somebody who
appears completely normal?"
"Nothing is easier," he replied. "You ask him a simple
question which everyone should answer with no trouble. If he
hesitates, that puts you on the track."
"What sort of question?"
"Well, you might ask him, 'Captain Cook made three trips
around the world and died during one of them. Which one?'
The blonde thought a moment, then said with a nervous laugh,
"You wouldn't happen to have another example would you? I
must confess I don't know much about history."
