Hello Matthew,

I agree with you in relation to the importance of an autoresponder system.
However,
you can find unlimited autoresponders for just $9.97.

Indeed, if you click on the URL mentioned in the article (BE AN ACTIVE
PROVIDER!)
published in the same issue (Adlands' Digest# 261) -
http://www.business-offer.com/
you can find unlimited autoresponders plus:

* the ebook "Make Net Money" (Jim Daniels loves this new ebook);

* monthly free ebooks - some with complete marketing and resell rights;

* weekly access to a real time one-on-one session with Jerome Chapman,
Miguel Alvarez and a guest marketing expert;

* members forum to get your marketing questions solved right away;

* Blazing content server (fresh content delivered to your web site each week),
etc.

The site is managed by Jerome Chapman and Miguel Alvarez - two of the most
savvy internet marketers (I'm sure you've heard both names before).

They offer a 100% lifetime guarantee and for a limited time only you can lock
yourself in at the low membership of only $9.97 instead of $24.95
(better than 50% discount).

I hope the above information can help you and all the ADLANDS' DIGEST readers.

All the best,

Subject:How to get targeted traffic.

Hi Bogdan,

I am writing about two different issues here. I just read about some
targeted traffic ideas in your newsletter both free and paid. I know a few
webmasters who are having success with startblaze by placing a pop-under ad
to get more subscribers to what they are marketing. It seems like companies
like startblaze give you a ton of hits but if they aren't targeted they are
just displays on a screen and I really don't see sales from it.

I have just started to use bizclicks. They sell you unlimited banner
impressions plus they guarantee a certain number of clicks in a month.
They include real-time stats so you can view your ad campaign. They designed
my banner for me based on what I liked/wanted. Here's their url if you would
like to check them out:

Subject:How to get targeted traffic.

Hi Bogdan,

I use five programs for getting traffic with great success.

The secret is to have a quick page load since with some of them
you have only 20 seconds to get your page viewed.

It is a common error that I see time and time again, in that people
try to get their index page to load. So for these traffic generators I
do a special page, plain text and no images, just a link to my sites.

It works great as anybody can see if they use Alexa, I made to the the
top 100,000 with no search engine support whatsoever.

If anybody wants to see how quick a page loads just click through to
http://chlorella-europe.com/webadvert1.html
http://chlorella-europe.com/webadvert2.html
http://chlorella-europe.com/webadvert3.html

The object of these traffic generators is really to put your site in front
of the viewer and motivate them to click to your site, not to do the deal.

It may be un-targeted traffic, but you never know, that out there on the Web
there may be an avid butterfly collector who is interested in an
auto-repair kit.

Great newsletter - keep up the good work

Subject:How to get targeted traffic.

Bogdan,

I feel the best traffic generator is writing articles and submitting
them to the various ezines targeted to your subject area.

Although I still like placing ezine ads, the articles outpull an
ad by far. Your article can be picked up by a few ezines and
often have a circulation to 100,000 or more readers, all free.

They are viral marketing at it's best, because if a few webmasters
decide to pick up your article, it can be seen for years to come.

If I was starting over the first lesson I would learn is how
to write targeted articles.

1.They are Free exposure

2.They are extremely viral

3.They are the main focus of the readers attention

4.They position you as an expert, rather than a salesman

5.They generate targeted leads

Wishing You Success,
John

Hi Bogdan.

In reply to targeted traffic. For my own eZine Daily Classifieds I am currently
doing research on top Paid Guaranteed hits programs. So far we have only tried
two MyTrafficBlast http://www.mytrafficblast.com/11635 and Adscholar
http://www.Adscholar.com

Your subscribers can read the full reports and results on these programs by
going to www.dailyclassifieds.co.uk and click on the previous issues. numbers 76
& 77 for MyTrafficBlast and 101 for Adscholar.

But as a very quick summery, although MyTrafficBlast was $400 for the package we
bought against $160 for Adscholar. So far after 15,000 visitors, we have
received NO SALES or signups from Adscholar, were as we were very satisfied
with the results from mytrafficblast resulting in over $700 of direct sales and
over 400 signups to our eZine.

Hope these reports help

Subject:HostSave.

Hi Bogdan,

Again I would like to reply to John Yarrow on HostSave.

Hi John,

I read your reply in the last Adland Digest and I would like to post some
emails I have exchanged with them. To explain what is going on here, I
purchased a domain name through HostSave that was never used. Then I wanted
to get another one for my current business and I wanted to transfer the name
if that was possible. Like I said before, I was a newbie at this and I had
no idea how to do it or if it even was possible.

Just for the record, I have never spoken to Kelley on the phone, all our
correspondence was through email and all replies were within 24 hours, both
ways.

Here are some of the emails that I kept for future reference. It reads
better if you start at the bottom and work your way up. :-)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Note from Editor .
Here Mireille included several email threads which
can be made available upon request.
They couldn't be included here due to their length.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

As you can see, I sure didn't have the same problems with them that you did.
Kelley was wonderful to answer my emails. There were more but I only kept
this one because it had something useful in it that I could use for future
reference. Today I don't really need it anymore, but back then it was like
a different language altogether.

All businesses have to realize that to keep their customers they have to
provide customer service in a timely fashion. It seems to me that HostSave
may have learned their lesson. I find them very good and reliable.

But those are just my thoughts, not yours... :-)

Mireille

==============N e w P o s t i n g (1)=============
From:John Ross
Subject:How To Protect Your E-mail Against Virus Protection !!!

Hi there Bogdan,

How to protect your E-mail address! I learned a computer trick today that's
really ingenious in its simplicity!

As you may know, when/if a worm virus gets into your computer it heads straight
for your email address book and sends itself to everyone in there, thus
infecting all your friends and associates. This trick won't keep the virus from
getting into your computer, but it will stop it from using your address book to
spread further, and it will alert you to the fact that the worm has gotten Into
your system.

Here's what you do: first, open your address book and click on "new contact"
just as you would do if you were adding a new friend to your list of email
addresses. In the window where you would type your friend's first name, type in
!000 (that's an exclamation mark followed by 3 zeros).

In the window below where it prompts you to enter the new email address, type in
WormAlert. (If it tells you this is not a valid address just say yes to add it,
or ok.) Then complete everything by clicking add, enter, ok, etc.

Now, here's what you've done and why it works: the "name" !000 will be placed at
the top of your address book as entry #1. This will be where the worm will start
in an effort to send itself to all your friends.

But when it tries to send itself to !000, it will be undeliverable because of
the phony email address you entered (WormAlert). If the first attempt fails
(which it will because of the phony address), the worm goes no further and your
friends will not be infected.

Here's the second great advantage of this method: if an email cannot be
delivered, you will be notified of this in your Inbox almost immediately. Hence,
if you ever get an email telling you that an email addressed to WormAlert could
not be delivered, you know right away that you have the worm virus in your
system. You can then take steps to get rid of it!

Have A Great Day

John Ross

From:Brian Sater
Subject:Spamming

I have three ffa pages I pay for every month and receive approximately 2000
emails every day. I send a confirmation to these daily with a sig file
promoting a website of mine. I include a remove link in addition to this and
have a filter at the website it sends them to so I can easily remove them
and in addition, I put them on an exclusion list in my mailer program. The
next day I delete the emails and start again with the fresh ones.

However, even though I do all of this, I have been removed from two isps
this year for spamming. Talking with the isps does me no good. They just say
that they get complaints and if I am sending over 1000 emails per day they
consider it spamming. Well I can't just go hopping from isp to isp. There
just aren't that many here in li'l ol' Cache Valley, Utah.

I would love some advice on this situation from you adlanders. I am simply
selling affiliate programs with Aureate Group Mail. I have a nice hobby and
get some extra cash with this working part-time.

Thanks in advance,

Brian Sater :)

Why Some Ads Fail Miserably While Others Succeed Wonderfully
ByDavid Garfinkel

The voice on the other end of the phone was tense and impatient.
It was a prospective client calling. After we introduced
ourselves, he got right to the point: "Our advertising isn't
working and we need some help."

Who I was talking to doesn't matter very much, because it could
have been almost any of my prospects before they start working
with me. That's because, statistically, most advertising doesn't
work -- if by "work" you mean, bring in new business. Think
about your own ads. Even if they already generate leads or
create sales for you, don't you have the sneakin' suspicion they
could be working a lot better?

Here are two reasons why most ads don't work at all -- or if
they work, why they deliver far less business than they could:

1. Most ads don't get the attention of your prospects. This is
pretty basic. It is physically impossible for prospects to
contact you unless they know about you, and if you're counting
on them to find out about you from your advertising, then step
one is for your ad to get your prospects' attention.
Unfortunately, some ads actually do get attention, but.

2. These ads get the attention of your prospect in the wrong
way. For an ad to generate a qualified lead or create an
immediate sale, it must start off on the right foot. That
"right foot" sets the right tone and invites a qualified
prospect to call you. I just saw an ad in Newsweek that still
has me wondering what it's about and why someone spent tens of
thousands of dollars on it. (Bet it wasn't their own money.)

The ad shows a boy on a bicycle flying through the air, out in
the wilderness. The headline, in a semicircle, says, "They will
always fall before they fly." Since I'm not a kid and I'm not a
parent, it doesn't do much for me.

But wait -- even if I were a parent or a kid, I still don't
think this ad is going to sell me on anything that would make
the advertiser any money. If I were a kid, the only thing this
ad could sell me on is taking these kind of risks to annoy my
parents. And if I were a parent, the only thing I can imagine
this ad would sell me on is making sure my kid never rides his
mountain bike in hilly terrain -- since, obviously, the kid in
the picture is on a collision course with certain death.

I've got to hand it to this ad in one department -- it's
interesting. It got my attention. But that's as far as it got.

The Headline's the Thing

Let's get off this negative track and look at some ads that I am
certain are making money. These are not from a glossy national
magazine, but small ads from today's local newspaper. (By the
way, small ads that run in the newspaper are usually paid for by
the person who wrote them. And these ads get to the point and
are likely to be profitable. Hmmm...I wonder if I'm noticing a
trend here...)

All I'm going to show you are the headlines of these ads. But I
promise you, the headlines are all you need to see. Tell me if
you can guess what each ad is about, and who its target market
is:

1. "Lose 3-5 Pounds Per Week With the System Proven by Over
90,000 Successful Patients"

2. "Up to 40% Savings on Heating and Cooling Costs With a
(Brand Name) Foam Roof"

3. "Men and Women -- Remove Unwanted Hair Today!"

Now, I know what you're thinking. Not very clever. Not very
hip. In fact, those headlines are downright boring!

Hmmm. I have two things to say about that. First, if you have
tried everything under the sun to lose 40 pounds and you are
frustrated to the point of tears, then headline number 1 isn't
that boring to you. (And I would say the same regarding people
in the target market for headlines 2 and 3.)

The second thing I want to say is, yes, and it's also pretty
boring to stand in line at the bank waiting to make a large
deposit into your business checking account. But you know what?
Once you've gotten past that boredom barrier, it's actually
sort of nice. You know?

And here's some interesting news: A good headline on your ad
will get you 90% of the way from the agony of defeat to the
ecstasy of advertising success -- so you can deal with weighty
issues like the boredom barrier and what to do with all that
money.

copywriting coach." He's a successful results-oriented
copywriter and the author of Advertising Headlines That Make You
Rich, which shows you how proven money-making headlines
customized for your business can increase your profits by 1700%.
