I mentioned in the subject of today's digest that I need your feedback today.
The reason I ask for the feedback, is the fact that recently I started
publishing Adland Digest in HTML format. What I started was just scratching
of the service. I highlighted ads  and made bold some of the  elements of
the newsletter.

This requires from me creating of this newsletter in two formats. For those who
can't read html format and for those who can.

This turned out to be quite an intensive piece of work.
I'm sure that ads in the digest get more visibility this way. :)

All this would be not a very big problem for me, but I noticed that since
I started this html format of Adland Digest, participation in the discussion
dropped dramatically.

I'm not quite sure if this was the html format introduced recently making ads
exposed more than usually and in consequence distracting readers from
the actual content of the newsletter or there is something else.

I had more participation when this newsletter had 2000 subscribers than
today with over 26,000.

I recall that previously I published newsletter more often which potentially
kept the topic still hot between issues.

Please let me know if I need to worry  about the format or it is something
else.

I'm definitely having lots of interest in advertising in this newsletter.
Most of the spots are booked ahead for about 100 days, but I want
to make sure that digest delivers what it used to and maybe there
is something I could do better.

I'm sending this issue in the usual format for comparison. No Html.

Google makes heavy use of link popularity as a primary way to rank web sites.
This can be especially helpful in finding good sites in response to general
searches such as "cars" and "travel," because users across the web have in
essence voted for good sites by linking to them. The system works so well that
Google has gained widespread praise for its high relevancy. Google also provides
some results to Yahoo and Netscape Search. Submit only your homepage URL. It
will automatically index the entire site.

Google is arguably the best SE on the Net, and for good reason -- they are
*extremely* picky. Google is on record as saying they prefer to list LARGE,
CONTENT-RICH sites in their database because these sites are most likely to
effectively fulfill a visitor's search. My experience certainly reinforces this
policy.In the grand scheme of things, 30 -- even 60 pages -- is a relatively
small number of pages to build. But it *IS* enough, in Google's opinion, to
indicate that you and your site are committed to providing something of VALUE to
Google's visitors.

Another crucial aspect of getting pages listed in Google is your PAGE RANK. Page
Rank is Google's evaluation of the importance of your site, based on their
proprietary algorithm which tracks incoming links. Sites with little or no Page
Rank score will have a TOUGH time making it into Google. Page Rank stats are
reported on Google's Toolbar. I recommend you install it, if you have not

Hi Bogdan;

I have been very busy since I asked for a site review of Your Real Estate for
Sale.com.  I think it is much improved, but we won't know until the sales
results are in.

I have one more thing that I want to do and I need some expert advice from you
or a member of the Digest.

I want to add a contest to my site.  I would like to have a pop up window that
would open at a regular or random number of searches.

When someone comes to Your Real Estate for Sale.com and enters a state or zip
code, they receive search results.  Is there a way to have a window open and
give them a prize.  I have written an ebook for beginning real estate investors
and I plan for it to be the prize.  The ebook is delivered via autoresponder so
the prize window only needs to have a text message and a email link.  Some type
of animated graphic would be nice but I can handle that part.

I need help with the pop up window or if there is a better way to have a random
contest, I am open to suggestions.

Hi Bogdan and fellow Adlanders,

I am hoping there is at least one kind sole out there that can help me with a
problem in site creation.
I  have had a couple of moderately good sites hosted free on geocities for some
time and now wish to duplicate these on my paid hosting sites.  I have 4
different ftp programs but I just can't make head or tail of the instructions.
So far I have transferred one site where the text and graphics originally posted
in html format show up well but I cannot work out how to transfer the remaining
graphics - these were originally uploaded from my h/d to geocities to place on
the site.
Please can someone help me?  Preferably someone with ICQ or Y messenger so you
could talk me through it.

How many of us have received an email with a high alert
regarding a virus? You read the email and it TELLS you
to pass it on to as many people as possible to save everyone
from the nasty virus. STOP! Don't mindlessly do as your told.

If you actually followed those instructions you may have
unwillingly participated in spreading a virus hoax. This is just
how a hoax virus is spread. It isn't spread by some programmers
code inside your email or via an attachment. It's spread by
simply telling the reader to pass it on.

Here's a tip on avoiding becoming a part of any hoax or
online gossip that isn't true.

Check your sources. Go to McAfee.com and look up the
virus. Many times you'll discover it's a hoax. If you can't
find the original document or news release, perhaps it doesn't
exist.

You know those cute little creatures called Lemmings?
They will mindlessly follow the leader of the pack anywhere.
Don't be a Lemming. They're cute, but sometimes they
follow the leader off a cliff. ;-)

tables or delivering pizzas?

They are already working towards their career, they just
want a few extra dollars beyond their books and tuition.

** The Two Career Family

How many two career families would rather have one member
work from home and be there for their children.

The list is endless.

The part time market is virtually untapped and outside
the inner circle.

Help them get what they want and they'll help you grow
your business.

It's a total win win.

the bad?  Do you have any recommendations?

There are many good companies. Many good pay plans and many bad ones too.

The important thing is to find the one that contains ALL of the criteria you
want.  Don't settle.

of building a business online, with pre-qualified leads, and the ability to
teach others to do the same.

5. HAD to have a true, solid residual income program.  Up front bonuses are
great, but they only pay ONCE.  I had tried that and found I would always have
to personally get new reps.and that would leave me no time to see the world. Or
just taking time off.

6. HAD to be something I could get passionate about and KNOW that I am
positively impacting others and helping them, both with the product and the
opportunity.

7. HAS to be a company in the momentum phase.

These are some things you may want to STRONGLY consider as you choose a company,
system and sponsor.

I researched nearly 15 companies, looking for one that could check off all these
boxes!

I found it, got started and haven't looked back.

The very best form of online advertising
is Ezine and Newsletter Advertising.

And the best type of ad to place is a Solo Ad.

Why?

First, because Ezines and Newsletters are read by people
who have requested to receive those publications.

People that read those ezines and newsletters do so
because they are about a subject that is important to them.

That creates a niche or target audience for delivery
of whatever RELATED message you wish to convey.

A review of newsletter and ezine directories will yield
a wealth of online publications that will cover just
about every conceivable subject that exists.

For a FREE List of Directories that contain 10's of 1000's:

No matter what your product or service, you are bound
to find an online publication that already has subscribers
who will fit your niche or target audience.

That makes online publications one of the best - if not
the very best - places to start your online advertising campaigns.

also for Ezines.

Second, when you get ready to run your ad in any online
publication, then you must decide on whether you want
to place a Classified Ad, a Top Sponsor Ad or a Solo Ad.

I have been doing business online for over 8 years
and I have learned from trial and error that a Solo Ad
will pull at least 10 times more response than a Top
Sponsor Ad and about 20 times more than a Classified Ad.

Why?

Because your Solo Ad does NOT compete with any other ads.

A Solo Ad is a HIGH-IMPACT message that can easily
be read and will easily be acted upon.

It is well worth the added expense over other types of ads.

And, you can significantly improve your rate of
return if you incorporate some of the following
principles in your Solo Ad copy:

1. Create An Impressive Title.

Your Title can make or break you.  Stress Your Benefits and
use Action Words. Benefits will sell your product or service.
Will it save them money? Save them time? Make their life easier?
Can it fulfill their dreams?  Make them happy?  Bring Satisfaction?

Forget about describing your product or service. Instead,
stress what your product or service will do for your prospects.

Stress those BENEFITS!

Use Action Words to capture their attention and entice them
to respond immediately to your ad.  Offer something free in your ad
copy.  It'll often tip the balance between a response and no response.

2. Keep It Short.

Do NOT try to sell anything from your Solo Ad copy
except enticement.

Entice your potential customers to request more

3. ALWAYS Include An Email Contact.

My experience is that your ad response rate will increase
by as much as 50% if you simply include an email contact
address in your ad copy.

Also include your URL in the ad copy but adding your email
address gives those responding to your ad the option of using
what works best for them.

Besides, you can not follow-up with visitors to your web site
but you can with those that request your information by email.

Make use of a good Auto-Responder service to deliver your
