Some time ago we had here discussion regarding pay per click programs
and  pop-up windows as a means of promotion. In short not very effective
advertising methods and very annoying at times at least in my opinion.

Recently it came to my attention a pop-up/start up page program which
actually offers very targeted results. (I tested it for the last three days)
This is an exchange program but its power is in its  unique approach.

Pop-up window opens page not with owners website but with six
text ads.
Check it here.
http://www.trafficswarm.com/cgi-bin/swarm.cgi?24223

Those ads open very quickly and whoever sees it, has to actually
read them and click on a particular link to visit the site. Click is
a click and nobody gets rewarded for clicking.
Guess what, I get 0.5% click thrus from this kind of page.
This is more than average click through from banners
(of course this doesn't apply to Adlandpro click thrus from banners
where we experience results between 1%- 8%)

Anyway this program seems to work. Try it now, it costs $0.

=================Pay Per Click Search Engines=====================
From:Andy.

G'day Bogdan, Robert Lee,N .Charron Jr and all Adlanders.
At the moment I'm running keywords in 15 ppc engines and receive
around 1/4 of my visitors from them. My comments on them are below:
www.7search.com : recent addition but very good at about 2 cents.
www.ah-ha.com : recent addition and also vg at about 2 cents/visitor.
www.brainfox.com : very slow and difficult to use with no copy/paste
mass submission facility. Be wary of all ppc's which multiply your funds!
www.findwhat.com : Brilliant !! Around 2 cents again and easy to use.
www.google.com : Adwords Select is good, but costly if you want a
high ranking which shows on Yahoo, AOL and other big hitters.
www.gopile.com : Not a bad little "cheapy" and seems to be getting
better.
www.helavasearch.com : Another improving "cheapy"
www.kanoodle.com : I quite like this one and am doing well at 2 cents
www.overture.com : Not cheap and very particular on keywords but OK.
www.search123.com : I like this consistent and cheap player.
www.searchbidder.com : 100 visits/month, cheap and worth a try.
www.simplesiteuk.com : Extremely slow and I won't add funds.
www.solidhits.com : Proforma site with no more funds from me.
www.lookforstuff.com : Love the name (sic) but proforma like the last 2.
www.verygoodsearch.com : It isn't !!!!!  Another proforma site. No more $.

If the last 4 non-performers don't deserve your interest, the other 11 do
and they give me around 1100 targetted visitors every week at about 2
cents each which I think is good.
Good Bidding !
Andy.

Hi Bogdan,

I have to agree with you on the Spam issue.  I've been
receiving a lot of porn and that especially annoys me
as I have no interest or desire to receive it.  Nothing in
my business has any relation to type of marketing.

I've been working with Bob Osgoodby of
http://adv-marketing.com where some of the webmasters
are working together with him in a test against the
spammers.

Considering the amount of incoming mail that gets trashed,
we'd have a real problem if each piece of mail accepted
was taxed.  I shudder to think of the consequences should
our governments get involved in this issue.

would just suggest that you might like to obtain a copy of the Daily Mirror May
20, 2002 page 37 and see the article entitled You've Been Hotmailed. There it

Susan, there is something called "fair use" that allows for quotations to be
used, as well, copyrights are not necessarily infringed if the piece reprinted
is printed in whole with the source or copyright notice intact.

And I don't get the Daily Mirror in British Columbia. Maybe you can include the

From:Sue
Subject:Spam more than annoyance.

Hi Bogdan,

Your post in the previous issue about spam really hit
home with me. I was going to reply at that time, but I
just didn't have the time. And the clutter of the daily
dose of spam is a big part of that problem!

I am getting more porn trash and Chinese/Korean
(or whatever it is) email that I feel like throwing in the
towel and getting out of online business. I have started
an offline business and if all goes well, the thought of
shutting down my email accounts looks more appealing
every day as I go through the garbage.

And top of the daily email trash, someone listed my Free
Classifieds Directory in a chain letter scam that's been
circulating since the start of the year. Needless to say,
I've been busy trying to reason with the anti-spammers
and SpamCop that I am in no way associated with the
spam/scheme and that my site was listed without my
knowledge or approval!

Thankfully, I have a excellent web host www.hostassured.com
who understood the situation right from the beginning and has
told me that all the complaints they receive are deleted.

I have no idea how to stop the spam but I think something
*fair* should be done. I have quit trying to get off the
spammers' lists as it doesn't work, unsubscribe addresses
are usually fake, unsubscribe URLs usually don't work, etc.

I read in another ezine to fight back by posting the email
addresses from the spam you receive on your site so the
spammers' email harvesting programs will pick up the fake
spammer addresses. Then they will have to spend a
lot of time going through their lists and removing the fake
addresses. I set up a page at
http://everydaybusinessonline.com/trash.htm
I don't know how well this will work, but it gives me a small
bit of satisfaction.

I don't want to quit online business as I've done very well
with it. But, in my six years online, I've never seen so much
garbage circulating through email as there is now. I feel
your predictions are right on. I don't know what a proper
way of limiting the spam would be. It almost looks like it
would have to come down to government control but I
don't agree with that either. The sad fact is that spammers
are ruining email and they have no intention of stopping.

G'day Bogdan from wet and cold Sydney.
As I've said before,  the US Constitution with it's right to free speech
has a lot to answer for in this day and age and in my opinion is the
cause of ALL Spam.
I came to this way of thinking after wondering about how Spam is sent
out, and realizing that if email harvesting programs and mass emailler
Companies were BANNED there would be no Spam.
Opt-in lists are OK, but they should be all that's allowed.
Is that a bit heavy, or just too simplistic ?
I think not, and wonder if maybe you should put a survey on your
Newsletter/Site to ask people their opinions on this and other issues.
Cheers,
Andy.

From:Sylvia
Subject:Spam more than annoyance.

Hello Bogdan,

Thank you for a great digest and all of your free online help in solving the
little (and not so little) problems a newbie like me has in getting my computer
to work for me and not against me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I wanted to comment on your remarks under Word From Publisher regarding
your reasons for subscribers lack of participation even though membership
numbers keep increasing.
You remarked that you had more participation back when you only had
2000 subscribers as opposed to now when you have 25,000. You felt
the high use of spam contributed to that fact. You stated you were afraid
email would be lost as an effective communication medium if it continues.
It is my opinion that the reason clearly lies more with the explosion of
information being offered to online users and not as much to do with Spam!
If you use the Internet for both personal and business reasons, then you
know that time is the big factor in whether or not a member actively responds
to issues written in ezines and newsletters. Most subscribers have a topic
or two that particularly interests them. Time permitting, they usually
respond if they have a strong opinion about what was written on the topic.
Spamming is just another bothersome part of Internet communication as are
unethical businesses and scam operations.
Because time is of the essence, ask yourself this:
1. How many ezines and newsletters are online now?
2. How many ezines and newsletters were online then?
3. How many ezines and newsletters have come and gone?
4. How much time does a subscriber spend subscribing and deleting from
   them?
5. How much time does it take to work through the glitches when links don't
   work?
6. How much time does it take to respond to something of interest?
   ( This takes you away from the ezine and into a website, right?)
7. How much time does it take to check out one of the many ads in the
   ezine itself?
   (This also takes you away from the ezine and into a website, right?)
   (Most times, when I bookmark a site for later viewing, I end up with not
   enough time "later" to pursue the reason for bookmarking them. And
   my list gets to be soooooooo long. And why would I think I'll have more
   TIME later?)
8. How much time does it take to place subscriber ads?
                                             My Time Pyramid
         Information Explosion--Information Explosion--Information Explosion
                  Competition_ Competition _ Competition_ Competition
                                Obligations_Obligations_Obligations
                                             Priority--Priority
                                                     Busy
                                                     Busy
                                                     Busy
                                                     TIME
As you can see, just like all other Internet users, I am weighted under with all
the issues that must be dealt with when managing my time while online. It is
up to me to filter through what I consider garbage and what I consider relevant.
It is up to me to make the best use of email as effective communication.
That's why I feel good time management is of the essence.
I'm like all other online users, I recognize that spam is out of control, but
I also recognize any limiting of spam will also take control away from me.
I would rather be allowed to control spam my way then have something forced
on me, until and unless...
And how unfair ... to have to pay taxes for using something designed as a
quick and easy, yet inexpensive method of communication on a world wide
basis. It isn't too often consumers get a good value for their money.
The use of the Internet, as currently set up, is one of them.
Continue your excellent digest offerings.
then goes as the first entry in your address book. The incoming virus starts at
the top of your address book, and it is  immediately bounced back to the sender
as a mailer default. Voila your address book is protected. But there isn't
really any substitute for a Virus checker, and there are  many good ones
knocking about. I use Norton and make sure that I update every week. You do the
same.)
Maurice, this is a hoax, not a fix for a very serious situation.
Adding that type of contact into your address book, DOES NOT in any way alert
you to a email virus sending emails from your email program.
Everyone should have an up-to-date anti-virus program running that is capable of
updating it's virus definitions and scanning all incoming emails. I recommend
Norton Anti-Virus. http://www.symantec.com.
Isaac says: My solution is to buy a copy of QualComm's Eudora from
www.eudora.com.  It's a more powerful email client, and has actually been around
longer than Outlook, so there has been more time to work out security bugs.  Not
only that, but it doesn't rely on Internet Explorer (the source of many security
flaws) to read email, unless it is configured to do so.  And as a power user, I
highly recommend Eudora.  I've been using it for over four years.  =)
Isaac, no one has to pay for changing email programs. Netscape offers an email
program along with the full install of Netscape Browser that does not use the
visual basic engine that most viruses are going to exploit. If you are concerned
about viruses and have need for a safe email program and are on a limited
budget, download it today!
Hi Everyone,
I had a dreadful time with that spam bar and had to uninstall it from my
computer.... It kept trying to either block all of my incoming mails and dump
them into the deleted files, or it would send out email to all of the people I
got email from asking to be verified. I suppose it would work for people that
just get a few emails here and there from friends and/or family... but for those
of us in business, or that belong to email groups, like I do... It just doesn't
work.... I have set up some filters with Outlook Express, blocking emails with
certain words in the subject line and/or body. Like Viagra, Penis, Etc. Etc.
That works, but it seems that they manage to find a way around it!
Just thought I would let you know what happened after one days use! When I
turned on my computer this morning, I ended up with NO EMAILS!!  They were all
in the deleted files.
Sorry to misguide you.  Thought it would be great, but it wasn't
Subject: Need Help with Shared Borders (Front Page)
I asked this same question in a few places, and I already found out how to do
it, so, many of will probably see the site with the changes already made.
Here is how I accomplished it, just in case someone else needs it:
I used a feature called "Includes" to accomplish this. They are better than
"Shared Borders" because you are not restricted to the top, left, or bottom  of
you page. You can put an "Include" ANYWHERE on your page. Within a cell of a
table works great for navigation, headers, footers, daily messages, etc!
To use this feature:
Copy your current navigation onto a page of it's own and save it as nav.htm (or
whatever).
Then open up any of your other pages and highlight your current navigation
Go to your tool bar and click on Insert --> Component --> Include Page.
Add your nav.htm page and enter. That's it! If your navigation is not formatted
right, you may need to set it up in a table and
include it in specific sized cell.
I hope this was beneficial to someone.
Adriana
Subject: Need Help with Shared Borders (Front Page)
The best way to not have to change 70 pages for every update is to make your nav
bar a frame. Either split your page into two pieces (nav bar page & content
page)
or use an I-frame (which is a page within a page). This way you have 1 nav bar
throughout the site and only one page to change.
As for making your page larger - your table width is 600 and everything is sized
to fit. You need to increase your table size and also increase the column width
of the column(s) your content table is in.
If you need some frame sample I have some good one - I just don't know if it
will work with front page, it should though.
The EASIEST and FASTEST is using .shtml pages - (server side includes)
These are GREAT, you can have a side.shtml, and you put that into all your
webpages, when you add, delete, change a button you ONLY change the side.shtml -
same goes with your header, footer, or anything else that you will have on each
page.
From:John Yarrow
Subject: Need Help with Shared Borders (Front Page)
This is in response to Adriana's question in letter #291 regarding
changing navigation buttons once for all pages and changing size of
center page and border.  Although I am not an expert with "Front Page" I
can tell you what you are trying to accomplish with your navigation is
usually done with what they call a server side include.   I can also say
from checking out the source code on your page that your designing
program is using a server side include.  This basically means that the
source for the navigation bar on all pages is coming from one place.
The code on your page that does this is:
<!--webbot bot="Include" U-Include="nav.htm"
                              TAG="BODY" startspan -->
If you put in the browser bar www.abcgiftsandbaskets.com/nav.htm and
press enter you will see what I mean as it will bring up the navigation
only.  This tells me that you probably are not required to change each
page as the same include is also on your other pages which means they
are all drawing from the same place   Try just changing the home page,
upload and then check after the upload to see if the other pages show
the change.  My guess is they will.  If not you should somehow in front
page be able to edit the page nav.htm and then it should make the
changes across the site.
As far as the main table in your page including the border.  This is
being done with style sheets layers and several graphics to make up the
corners.  Manually there is no easy way to change it.  I am sure there
must be an option when you created the page to change size unless this
is a template.  Again though the style sheets for all pages are coming
from the same place and it could be modified on a code level however
using front page extensions on your site could cause a conflict if you
manually tried to change anything so here again you are pretty much
stuck unless you can find the option if available through front page to
do it within the system
My best suggestion I can give to you having such a nice site is to spend
the time to learn html (it is not that hard) and you will have much
better control on what your site does and how it looks.
Hope this helps
John Yarrow
Hi Adriana,
To change your pages globally like that you need to learn
about Server Side Includes (SSI). It's not hard but a bit
pernickety until you get the hang of it.
As for enlarging your table, if you can get at the HTML, simply
put a higher number in the width=....  spot after the start of the
Table Tag <table width=   > Although I notice your pages has
cellpadding first. That's okay. Where it says width=600,
change that to 650, or whatever.
Naturally, you'll test it offline to make sure it doesn't mess up
those rounded corners.
Blessings & Thanks,
take some lessons to help improve himself not cut him down so bad that it
would make him want to quit.  Why would you publish such bad taste criticism
instead of really trying to help him do better?  Thanks.
Even though the honorable Mr. Robert Lee
needs no back up.... I had to check the
web sites that received his scathing reviews.
Reminded me of the old days of gocritique.com
Some real tough honest reviews there. I bore the
brunt of many in the old days.
Robert don't be so cruel ! LOL
However I must concur with his conclusions. :-)
Pretty bad yawl.....
Attention newbie web designers!
Use templates! There are millions out here on the net
for free. Learn the task of web design first before
you put together junk! Go to: http://freebonanza.com/tools
You will save yourself endless searching, finding all
of them by hand as the human Guide of tools!
Remember... Content, Content, Content!!! You must
have useful content in your site. If you do not. Why
waste your time?? It takes a second to click away!
Having content in itself is not enough. It must be
sticky content. It must be good enough to keep them at
your site. Not with pop ups but interesting
From:Rikie
Subject:Robert Lee's recent site reviews
Hi Bogdan et al,
I would like to begin by apologizing for Robert's comments in issue #291 site
reviews.
Why you may ask should I apologise for someone else.?...
Well about 2 years ago I was a fledgling internet surfer who got 'conned' and
dragged into the world of MLM.  I mistakenly believed a lot of the hype and was
led down the path of believing the best way to make money online was to create a
'free' site and fill it with all the MLM style programs I could join.  (I did
this and have moved on).
What did encourage me was some comments found in Adlands Digest and hints picked
up along the way.  After a couple of months I got up the courage to ask for a
site review from Adlands and had a few people steer me away from the rubbish and
teach me how to get some purpose in my site.  And YES, one of those early
reviewers was the infamous ROBERT LEE!
I now have a couple of purpose-built sites that are doing quite well.
My point is that obviously Robert has been reviewing sites for so long now he
has become jaded or maybe he was just having a bad day.  Either way, if you
don't have any POLITE and constructive criticism Robert then just BUTT OUT and
let someone else fill the void.  We all need to start somewhere and remember,
"you can attract more bees with honey than vinegar".
To those of you who are just beginning to create your presence on the web, keep
at it, in time you will learn what works and what doesn't.  Above all, KEEP
READING ADLANDS.  It has to be one of the best newsletters available and one of
the very few that has kept a loyal following for well over the 2 years I have
been reading.
To Bogdan, don't get disheartened by the number of 'freeloaders' out there.  If
they are not reading your newsletter it is THEIR LOSS.  The rest of us really DO
APPRECIATE your efforts.
Sincerely,
Rikie
I spent months writing the ebook AMillionaireMind.com
identify with the newbies, allowing them to join for free as an affiliate or by
purchasing the ebook package earning commissions six levels deep. This is my
Robert someone has to create the programs we see and join, not everyone is an
affiliate trying to get free exposure. I am the creator and founder. My blood,
sweat and tears went into the creation of this program.
Before I officially launch I want the opinion, of the Ad Digest Subscribers.
Opinions that I value and highly regard. Does it appeal to them? Does it have
on the site, It says you can place classifieds ads free. This webmaster is
setting a very bad example.
Sorry Robert. But I offer much more than affiliate programs. There's free
classifieds websites, viral marketing plans, downline building programs, and
Subject:The best way to reach website and newsletter
Dear Bogdan:
I would like to pose a question to your subscribers in regards to marketing a
promotional item that we have had success with.
For months we had struggled along trying to get subscribers for our
newsletter, which is oriented to those responsible for running a family
household.
We had some success, continually getting a few new subscribers each week, but
capping our at about 500 subscribers.
After reading an article in one of your newsletters oriented to promoting
your website by having a contest or giveaway, we came across a promotional
item that fit well with both our website and newsletter.
The promotional item is a $350 Grocery Coupon book.
After adding a monthly contest in which we give away one of the Grocery
Coupon Books to one of our subscribers, our subscriber base has now grown to
over 4,500 subscribers and is continually growing by 5-10 subscribers per
DAY!
Recognizing the value of this item as a promotional item for website and
newsletter owners, we acquired the rights to remarket the grocery coupon
book.
My question is what would be the best way to reach website and newsletter
owners, that could also benefit from the great promotional value of this
item.
As always, my thanks for publishing such a great newsletter.
Hello there,
I love the Newsletter, it's one of the few I read each week, very useful
information and comments. Thanks for bring it to me.
Would it be possible to receive a review for my site? I know, I'm working with
an online builder through Trellix and for now there are some limitations. My
Host tells me they will be upgrading the Builder soon and that should give me
even more options. That being said, I do love the builder and the look of the
finished sites. I've been working with this builder for some time now and I have
a pretty good idea of what it can do.
I know that I've probably taken on more then I should with the site. I can hear
the reviews now, "Shopping, Money Making, Marketing, Jokes ... make up your
mind!"  And I know the meta tags are in the wrong place, but until the upgrade
it's the best I can do. Still I am getting hits from Google and Yahoo. And with
earlier sites built with this builder I was getting hits from several of the
other Name Search Engines. It's just going to take some more time to get this
one listed with the others.
Maybe I'm trying to be all things to all people, but I do have my reasons for
designing the site the way I did. At any rate, I would love to get some opinions
as to the site, and it's over all appeal and the information contained on it.
Thanks,
Hi everyone,
Hope you are all doing great.
After reading the reviews last week from Robert Lee, I would love to have my
site review.
My site is about ebooks. When I first started, it was supposed to be "just" a
simple ebook store. Now, following some changes in my life, I want it to be much
more than that and definitely not just about "how to get rich by tomorrow" type
of ebooks.
I've spent many hours re-organizing the site and there is still lots to do but I
am at a point where I would really need some input.
Thank you for your time and have a great week!
Best wishes,
Rely: to Cathy Wagner
Cathy in short you answered your own question.
Why? Why am I not closing sales?
The answer is with those who did not buy.
You must devise a way to get them to tell
you why. A exit survey. One on one question
and answer. Opinions of why they did not buy.
Offer something free of value
to get the answers out of them.
It is vital to get this from failed prospects.
Then compile your information and make
adjustments.
I commend you on the incredible amount of time you have put into your
site.  It looks nice and isn't choppy or completely unprofessional like
many of the sites I see.
While I didn't take the time to sign up, I noticed that many of the things
listed in your basic and paid memberships are "free".  Most of those free
things can be acquired elsewhere on the 'net without paying for them, and
the few things that are actually paid for can easily be acquired for free
as well.
For example:
..."email marketing software" = "Outlook, Eudora, Pegasus"
..."fully automated marketing systems" = "autoresponders"
..."inexpensive press release distributor" = "Free Agent and Usenet"
..."site announcement blaster" = "site submission program"
..."5,000 email addresses" = "something I can start my spamming campaign with"
I'm not being overly critical of your offerings - I am merely pointing out
that these things that come with a paid membership can be acquired for free
elsewhere.
>My problem has been in closing the sale with the vast majority of visitors.
>
>I am becoming discouraged.
Online entrepreneurship can be, at times.  But what I've learned in trying
to build a network marketing business online and in the real world is that
"if the fish aren't biting, change the bait."
I would like to introduce a website to you, http://web.archive.org, where
you can look at how websites have changed over the years.  Yahoo!, for
example, hasn't changed drastically, but Microsoft has had some major
redesigns.
This observation is important considering the site's primary
function.  Yahoo! is a search engine, and at its core, has always been,
despite some portal and e-commerce ideas.  Microsoft, on the other hand,
caters to its Windows users, programmers, network administrators, and
others, so its site has be to usable to all aspects of its clientele.
You obviously know what your intended market is.  Now take a look at site
designs of your competition and see what you like about their site, what
you don't like about their site, and design something that would yield
results from your intended market.
One more tip: unless your visitor has a wheel on their mouse, they are
probably not going to want to scroll down four and a half pages to read all
the information.  (Altavista.com: 2 pages, Microsoft: 2 pages, Yahoo!: 2.25
pages, Google (my favorite): 1 page (no scrollbar!))
Good luck in your venture!
Well Cathy,
I went to your site and it is extremely professional but the
copy is a bit dry and boring.  Your main page I clicked off at
first but then I went back as I decided your question was very
legitimate and I wanted to help.
Your first page is backwards from a copywriting standpoint.
You have your bulleted list of benefits at the very bottom of
the page.  As a marketing person, you should know "what's in it
for me" is the first thing that should smack your visitor in
the face.
There is no reason why your visitor will scroll down your page.
I didn't even realize there was more than what was on the first
screen in IE until I clicked back on your site.  You are losing
your visitors right then before they even click through to find
out more information.
And you don't even give me a clue why I would want to sign up
for your "Free Introductory" Membership.  I see none of your
personality shining through on the pages so why would I, as a
first time visitor, want to join.
We have similar businesses and I do quite well.  You could too
if you rework your pages to excite your visitors about what you
offer.  Expecting people to give you their email address, etc.
before offering them some real FREE excellent marketing content
is working against you.
Your visitors don't know you so why should they trust you can
really do anything for them.  I know this is harsh and maybe
something you don't want to hear but it is meant to help :-)
I have over 50 pages on my website and every page is geared
with the visitor in mind and how I can help make their site a
success.  By the time a lot of my visitors are done viewing my
pages, they become members of my "Art & Book Club."  Or they
bookmark my site and come back when they have more time and
become members later.
You could do the same.  You must "give first" to "get."  Also,
nothing on your pages leads me to believe you are an expert at
marketing.  Nothing I see on your pages convinces me of this.
What you are selling is yourself and your expertise so show me
you have it!
It might be on your website but I am unable to get it unless I
sign up.  Your free membership stuff should be open for all to
read.
When people read my articles which I have on my site and see in
people's ezines, they realize I know how to market and will
give them the tools to help them have successful businesses.
So put more stuff on your site so people can see you are what
you say you are -- "a marketing guru."  Then watch your sales
skyrocket or at least give you a very comfortable living from
all your hard work.
Are You Attached To How It Is Supposed To Turn Out?
By Deborah Brown
Is there a career goal you have been shooting for that
has not come to fruition? Are you frustrated and
confused because it is taking so long? Do you wonder
when you will see the results of your hard work?
Maybe the problem is that you are attached to how it
is supposed to turn out.
When you focus solely on the end result, you miss out
on the opportunity to enjoy today. When you wait until
one day in the future to be happy, you are unable to
appreciate where you are now.
You also lose sight of the reason you choose your goal
to begin with. You started with wanting to enhance your
career, and after a while, your goal seemed like
drudgery. Drudgery creeps in when you are no longer
choosing your goal, and you allow your goal to choose you.
So How Do You Achieve Your Goal Without Focusing Solely
On The Result?
1. Recognize What The Attachment Is Costing You
There is no fun when you are only living for the
future. Yes, a new career or a promotion can make
you smile, but can you honestly say you have been the
easiest person to be around these days?
2. Accept Where You Are Today
What's wrong with where you are? Just because you have
not achieved what you want in your career today, does
not mean you will not achieve it tomorrow. Let go of
the yearning, and immerse yourself in the here and now.
3. Let Go Of The Result
Imagine the room you will have to be yourself again
when you let go of having to obtain your goal right
now. This thought could be unsettling if you do not
know who you would be if you were not clinging to your
goal. Think about how much freedom you will have when
it does not matter what happens. And who knows, this
freedom might give you the burst of energy you have
been looking for.
4. Choose Your Goal All Over Again
Now that you have let go of how it should turn out, you
can re-choose your goal. Remember when you first said
you wanted a change? It was freeing, right? Then
somewhere down the road it wasn't liberating anymore.
Choose your career goal because you want to. Not
because you should, or you think you have to, but
because it will enhance the quality of your life.
5. Trust That It Will All Work Out.
If all things work out in the end (and they usually do)
then why all the worry? Trust that you are on the right
path. Trust that you are headed in the right direction.
Trust that you will have what you want in your career.
Be happy even if the result you want does not arrive today.
So what do you say?  You only have one life to live
so it might as well be a life you love!
THE HOSPITAL VISIT
Two little kids are in a hospital, lying on stretchers next to each other,
outside the operating room. The first kid leans over and asks, "What are
you in here for?" The second kid says, "I'm in here to get my tonsils out
and I'm a little nervous."
The first kid says, "You've got nothing to worry about. I had that done
when I was four. They put you to sleep, and when you wake up the give you
lots of Jell-O and ice cream. It's a breeze!"
The second kid then asks, "What are you here for?"
The first kid says, "A circumcision."
And the second kid says, "Whoa! I had that done when I was born. I couldn't
