I'm pleased to see that our forum is  lively again. If you remember
couple of issues ago, I was worried that participation of this forum is
fading. It seems that controversy is the best remedy to get people
more involved. Recent controversy about site reviews in my opinion,
is a very  good lesson for those who are starting their business and
are thinking of setting their  home on the internet.

What we are hearing here, is a much better experience than  finding
this out after months or years of unsuccessful  marketing and wasted
dollars.

=================Import/Export?=====================
From:M. Brauer

Dear Bogdan,

I have been a subscriber of this news letters for a number of years now,
and enjoy some of the articles most of the time.

I also noted that most of the subscribers or at least the ones that write
articles are into quick money making businesses. Not that there is
anything wrong with that, but is anyone into the serious business of
import/export?

Do you offer a newsletter that the import/export industry would benefit
from? I'd be interested in such a news letter.

My site offers some of the latest digital cameras and gadgets, if anyone
is interested in helping me build a newsletter for this site please
contact me.

http://www.wtn-canada.com

Regards,
M. Brauer

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello M.
I'm sure that there are newsletters for import/export subscribers,
but what you are really looking for are sales.
Adland Digest purpose is to help its subscribers with gaining
marketing knowledge and ways of promotion their websites,
which eventually will convert to new prospects and then customers.
No matter in what category  your business is, you have to find
methods of getting it out. If you follow some of the articles published
here, if you follow some of the links included in messages regarding
various topics, you will gain knowledge and experience which will
give you upper hand in  the internet maze.
Articles which I'm selecting here most of the time, talk about methods
of directing traffic to your site or  how to make your site appear
professionally and how to get most of those who already arrived
to your pages.
I myself read all those articles regularly and try to implement those
ideas into my businesses. It took me about three years to produce
about $500,000 within one year. (two employees including myself
with abut 15% overhead)
I don't think this was quick, but it could be worse.
My advice is that you  read articles contained in those archives
http://www.adlandpro.com/archives/ and decided what best
suites your business model.
Many things are still working the same way today as they used
to work 3 years ago.
Your customer wants to be confident about your products, services,
good intentions and abilities to support them after they pay you.
You have to develop personal relation with your customers.
You make your first step submitting to search engines and directories,
but once you have your visitor at your site, you have to do everything
to establish  personal connection and maintain it for as long as you can.
This newsletter is for me practical tool to keep in touch with you
and anybody else on this list. Just follow the example.
Kisio,
I looked over the site and it does make me wonder if you really need all the
bells and whistles it seems to be offering. If you just need an autoresponder,
there are free ones out there, with no ads. If you want to do an E-zine, you can
easily do that with any autoresponder. It seems to me that unless you need all
the goodies offered, that the price is very steep. I have links to a Free/ad
free autoresponder that many people use for their e-zines. I have a paid
responder that's only $17 a month for 50 unlimited responders. Both seem to
offer many of the same things Mailloop does.
Just make sure that you need all the things this does before you pony up the
cash. Check out other autoresponders programs to see if you can get by with them
at a greatly reduced cost.
Take care and good luck,
John Olson
Subject:Trafficswarm
Bridget,
I have Trafficswarm and you don't have to worry about spam with it. This works
something like a start page rotator with a Hit Exchange thrown in. Set your
start page to your Trafficswarm start page URL and every time you open the
browser and view a Trafficswarm site, you get credit toward your own
Trafficswarm site being seen when someone else opens their browser. You can also
earn with a popup code to your site, but I don't do that, I hate popups. And as
you refer others to Trafficswarm you earn even more views. Set your Trafficswarm
start page URL up with a Free Hit Exchange and you will get even more site
views.
Your ad is on you Trafficswarm page. If it's a good ad and people want to get
more information, they will click on it and you get a visitor. Just write a good
ad. The more you open a page using the Trafficswarm start page URL the more your
own Trafficswarm site, with your ad on it will be viewed.
As you refer others, and they refer others, your ad moves across and down the
page. But it is now being seen on more and more pages as the referrers open
their start pages, which also have your ad on them.
It really is a neat system. I believe you get a good number of site views for
free when you start. And when you personally refer someone you get a ton more.
Take care and good luck,
John Olson
Hi Bogdan and fellow adlanders,
Rikie here again, I've been reading the reviews of the reviewer and I think we
have all (me included) 'bagged' poor Robert enough.  It must take a lot of his
time to do the sort of thorough reviews he presents here, I'm sure he can find
better things to do with his time.  Let's all give Robert a break and get into
doing some reviews ourselves.  See how easy it is (not).
As an ezine publisher myself, I know it is not always easy to get subscribers to
participate in anything, be it discussions, site reviews or even competitions.
I'm sure Bogdan is very pleased to have such a willing participant in Robert who
has only missed one or two editions that I can remember since I've been reading
this digest.
To Robert,  I'm sorry to have possibly created a storm for you by complaining
about your harsh tone, really it was meant a little "tongue-in-cheek".  I do
appreciate your reviews, sometimes we just have to remember that calling for a
review is intended for the 'average Joe's ' opinion not necessarily an expert of
your calibre.
Have a great week everyone and keep smiling,
Rikie
Subject:Robert Lee's recent site reviews
Congratulations Robert on having the guts to
tell it like it is without holding back any punches!
As a longtime Adland reader I must say that it
was indeed refreshing to see someone stand up
and not give anyone false hope.
If you ask for a site review and can't deal with
the possibility of someone telling you the truth,
then you need to forget about doing business
online.  Robert's review(s) are the least of your
worries!  The internet is a dog eat dog world
and for every site that turns a profit a thousand+
will never see a dime.
To everyone howling about how disgusting it was
of Robert to write such reviews, I'd like to ask
you if you howl when it's done offline?  Every day
you read restaurant, book, movie, etc., reviews
that are scathing at times, but these people
take the negativity and learn from it.  People
wanting to do business online should do the same.
Many times I have been asked to look at some of
the worst websites out here.  No content or
'what's in it for me' at all.  Just banners, banners,
banners and affiliate programs out the yin yang!
It's time for everyone to tell it like it is and discourage
people from filling up the web with all this useless
trash that only takes up bandwith.
With all the websites and free software out here to
help you design a decent website there is no
excuse for putting all these 'junk sites' online.
Kudos to you Robert!
Subject:Robert Lee's recent site reviews
jz@ananzi.co.za says:
I have been a subscriber to this newsletter from
the days when Bogdan started out and the recent
reviews by MR. R. Lee are a real turn-off.
If you find an affiliate site for review ... why not
just write:
"Site for Review - Not reviewed - Affiliate Site".
It will inform without offending.
If you must criticize - do it constructively or not at all
If the sites that you review really upset you then... stop reviewing them.
Simple....isn't it?
End Quote
Well, JZ, it would be simple, but then that isn't the purpose of the site review
request is it?
Information of my visit to the site has been requested and aren't we all just a
little interested to see what was found?
Is it at all possible that I may be able to help someone that subscribes to this
list to make a better website? To earn a few $$$?
Or should I review this site:
http://www.lackofinterest.com
And say "Affiliate site" because all it has is links to Amazon.com and say
nothing else. Or maybe there can be a more constructive criticism by saying that
the content is lacking, since there is almost nothing there.
Or maybe say that it corrupted by browser because of faulty coding, or the
design showed awfully in my 1024x768 display but showed ok when viewed at
800x600.
That Netscape 6.2 looked ok, nut 4.7 broke the table into fragments. IE
displayed the images ok, but opera showed shadows.
Or maybe say that although the humor is funny, it may not be funny for everyone
so it should be changed at once to something that "I do find funny and so will
everyone else!"
And who am I offending if I describe a site as an affiliate site and it is not
worthy of a review? That's like watching a movie and saying that it's not worth
talking about afterwards. You end up offending everyone, not just the site
owner.
Personally I'd rather hear the opinion of someone that at least took a minute to
check out the site. Rather than "been there, have nothing to say".
If someone wants a private review of their website they can email me. I make my
living doing just that, reviewing websites.
I'd be happy to arrange a price for them. If they want my experience for free,
just ask on this digest.
Anyways, the real point is "tell us what you saw - let us agree or disagree, but
give us your view".
You are always free to just skip over the site reviews. Hey, you can even skip
over my contributions, I won't be offended.
Isn't the Internet a great way to exchange ideas?
Robert Lee
--------------------------------------------------------------------
PS. The site http://www.LackOfInterest.com is my own creation. I am not
offending anyone that has an involvement in the site because that is only me and
no one else. If you want to take a look, go ahead. The humor of the site may not
be to your taste. It may not even be apparent to you at all. But it will only
take 60 seconds on the home page for you to find out.
Subject:Robert Lee's recent site reviews
<snip>
I was both shocked and disgusted at the tone of Mr. Lee's
reviews! Mr. Lee,  were you blessed at birth with all of the
necessary skills to succeed in online business?
_______________
No he is just blessed with being on the Internet for years with
loads of experience as to what it takes to make money online.
So his words should be taken seriously or ignored -- the choice
is up to the person asking for the review.
<snip>
I think you are forgetting that we 'all had to start somewhere'
as Rikie stated in the last issue.  A site review is just
that - a review. It isn't a license to provoke anger and make
people feel that their efforts are wasted!
_________________
No, but there are 25,000 subscribers to this ezine who just
might be "helped" by his brutal honesty.  Some will be newbies
and it might prevent them from wasting their time and money on
a website where there is no possibility of success.  He is also
helping that webmaster or webmistress by pointing out their
website should have great content on it if they want to make
there affiliate programs work.
Hate to burst anybody's bubble here -- an online business has
to be worked just like an offline business.  If you think
otherwise, I would like to sell you the Statue of Liberty (huge
grin here).  The advantage to an online business is you can do
it sitting on your tush without the "out-of-pocket" expenses
normally associated with brick and mortar stores.  But that
does not lessen the amount of work that must be done to be
successful.
<snip>
I propose that Mr. Lee  submit HIS site for review. Considering
his extensive knowledge of site design, I think he'd be doing
us all a great service by presenting us with such a shining
example!
_________________-
At the end of each review, Bogdan gives you the reviewer or
poster's website if they have included it with their email
(look between the dotted lines) and this Mr. Lee has done so
all you need to do is click over to his site and see if he
practices what he preaches.
Subject:Robert Lee's recent site reviews
Hi adlanders.
 It seems kind of lame presenting your in a real unprofessional manner by
posting bad reviews with little or no positive feedback on making improvements,
as far as Robert Lee is concerned. Recommending of purchases of domains serves
little purpose at all when it comes to that advice offering. Using the one liner
" Oh, I've wasted my time" sends one down a slippery slope to disaster. The
reason why is the vast majority will view you as some worn out old sales man not
particularly focused on his job.
Looking over your website Mr. Lee and I was not still Impressed by some of the
content. Some of it is somewhat sleazy. Even I were in the market of dating. I
certainly would not use online dating services. There is too much trickery
involved not to mention getting burned in the process. At least 85% of online
daters give false information about themselves, and some use it to drive traffic
to their adult website. Why else would they do it unless they favor the profane
over the sacred. On a grand scale of chat rooms, dating sites, and message
boards geared for personal relationships.one will view more four-lettered words
and smut than you can shake a stick at. Bottom line; individuals seeking cheap
thrills will lavish it more often.
On the site review requests. Nobody twists your arm to review it so whats with
the bad attitude Mr. Lee. I can sense you have a strong hatred towards
everyone's
affiliate programs.By all means they have products and services, otherwise it
would be a pyramid scam.
I wouldn't think of calling Mr. Lee's comment constructive criticism. But making
the truth more prevalent. I call it just being plain vindictive.The bottom line
is, you don't help people By slamming their programs and websites just to prove
your point. But it's a good way to start flame wars. I do believe Mr. Lee is
very naive when it comes to affiliate programs and the concept of them. Or
grasping real ejectives on how to help people. Mr. Lee has some nerve to call my
site horrid by returning comments with no solutions what-so-ever. Well I'm still
waiting for them. You might think it's terrible but I seen much worse. I viewed
sites that are littered with nothing but banners, sites that are just a big
graphic, and yes the ones that send you on a wild goose chase to find what you
want.
The long stated question asking which of mine are making money but that not the
point of getting proper feedback so what's the difference. It's a bad question
to ask. Since you are so smart and so wise. Lets try again. What the main thing
you want to ask is which ones offer more value and much more worthwhile to be
in. Robert I also Invite you to a conference call on this Saturday at 12:00 noon
"I went to them and to MSN and complain about all the porn and
junk in my mail, they came back to me right away and said "always
get the URL and the  email address  even though it's fake) send it to
us, then be very careful to who you sign up to, email address CAN
be stolen and harvested ..... a piece of advice go to your ISP. "
Hi Mary,
I can understand as to why you would go to your ISP and
complain about the junk mail that you are receiving, but I
also want to make a point about your comments. Going
to your ISP is only going to make matters worse. And the
reason why I say this, is because that is one of the "BIG"
reasons why Filtering Software is now being implemented
on the majority of ISP's out there.
I do NOT think a lot of you out there realize HOW much
spam filtering software is RUINING, INNOCENT people's
businesses. I'm NOT just talking about Marketing ezines
and newsletters either, I am also referring to "MAJOR"
Department Stores, Domain Renewals, Utility Bills and
Legal Documents etc. are ALL being filtered, based on
content.
I have personally taken almost EVERY single spam filtering
program out there and put them to the test, to see EXACTLY
what will affect my ability to receive my email. And the results
were startling, 95% of my own email is considered as being
Spam. The Food Network is spam, Martha Stewart is spam,
my domain registrar is spam, heck even Wal-Mart is spam!
If you run an ezine or newsletter online, you can bet, almost
100% it is considered as being spam.
Do any of you realize that some spam filtering companies,
"automatically" report the spam to the "offending" parties
ISP or web host? How would you feel if you were the cause
of someone's business demise, because you had filters on
your email? And that person had YOUR consent to send you
that message in the first place! Maybe you would care or
maybe you wouldn't, I know I'd feel like hell if I ever did that
to someone.
A lot of so called spam gets into your inbox, because half of
the people out there do NOT pay attention to what the heck
they are doing online! They're surfing around the net, handing
out their email addresses to every Tom, Dick and Harry, they
don't pay attention to the FINE print. And yet these very same
people scream bloody murder, because they don't know why
Wal-Mart's flyer arrived in their inbox!
People have to LEARN to be responsible for their OWN
actions, that's like going to an FFA and not expecting any
email! Give me a BREAK of course you are and you are
going to get email, like you've never seen before. I have
been marketing online for over 3 years now and I do get
MAYBE, 50 pieces of spam a week (I have over 20 email
accts for all 3 of my businesses). You know how I have
managed to keep the spam so low? I read the fine print, I
uncheck the boxes on sites that I'm not familiar with. I do
not give my email address - if the person hides behind their
domain, I don't sign up to every single program that I see.
I don't post to FFA's or safelists, I tried that and unfortunately
people couldn't follow the rules and I ended up getting a lot
of spam. And when I do get legitimate spam I REPORT it. I
change my ISP email address the first time I notice the spam
is getting to a level I feel uncomfortable with.
And I change it to something unique, because if your name
is bobsmith and you've got a hotmail account - you can bet
you're going to get spammed. Your name is one of the first
things spammers guess that your email is. I keep track of
every ezine and program that I sign up for - all confirmations
are put into to a folder for my future reference. I don't post my
email address in ads or on classified sites.
Use an autoresponder for follow up - to ads if you're allowed
to do so. They get you a better result anyways and there are
plenty of good ones available for free.
Well that's my opinion and my advice, sorry for the long and
winded reply - but hey .... I don't get out much, because I am
a workoholic! <lol!>
Subject:There is a new SPAMMER in Town/anti-virus software
Debra Glinsey talks about a free anti-virus software:
This program may be free but it is the best anti-virus software that I have ever
used.  It updates automatically, you do not have to go to the site for updates
nor pay for them, you set it for the time that you want it to scan your system
and you can also set it to scan incoming and outgoing mail.  They also have a
paid version but you still can update automatically and FREE.  I have never like
it when you buy software and then have to turn around and pay for the update all
the time.  Just my 2 cents worth.
End Quote.
Debra, although there certainly are very good free solutions for virus
protection, you should be careful about who you trust your precious data to.
After all, if your anti-virus program fails, it's you that have to re-create
your data, if it is at all recoverable!
Debra, I took a look at the site you mentioned and I have a concern about the
virus updates that they offer.
On this page:
http://www.grisoft.com/html/us_index.htm
It lists the available updates but also shows the problems that they have
occurred with their updates, such as the detection for "Klez" that needed
fixing, and the incompatibility of an update with some versions of Windows.
This company offers a free version of their anti-virus program as an
encouragement for people to purchase the professional version that offers many
more features.
While I have to agree that some people will find this a useful tool, I certainly
would not trust a free anti-virus utility to protect my data. I have seen too
many people literally driven to tears after having been told that the virus
their computer is infected with has destroyed all of their data, all emails, all
documents. everything.
And most of these people that were victims of Klez, they had a current version
of an anti-virus program but they never updated it!! Now that Norton Antivirus
automatically checks for updates, and downloads and installs them, you don't
have to worry about going back to the website every day and updating your
software and you don't have to worry about forgetting to update your software
and becoming a victim of the next big virus.
For about $5.00 a month ($60.00 for the program) you can get Norton Antivirus.
For $0.00 you can get the one from Grisoft. Buy and use whatever you feel is
most valuable for your protection.
Whatever rocks your boat!
In the last digest Debra Glinsey mentioned that she used AVG anti virus
from http://www.grisoft.com.  I have used it for nearly a year now and it
has protected me from a worm that was fairly new.  When I looked up
this new worm the information said it was fairly harmless, but very little
was known about it I guess at that point.  Some friends who also were
infected a few months later and their anti-virus software did not recognize
it had some important files corrupted.
About 5 years ago when I purchased a laptop and a desktop Norton came
with both and I used them.  Boy was that a mistake.  Within 6 months both
computers were infected and 2 of the viruses were not that new.  I had to
take both computers to get the darn things out and the technician was
surprised that Norton did not recognize any of the viruses.
Now one could advance the theory that the first virus that infected both
computers was new and not recognized by Norton.  Once infected by
the first virus files were destroyed and Norton could not stop further
infection.
But since I have been using AVG it has rung the bells a few times and
saved me some real trouble.  Like Norton will upload new virus and
worms to be recognized but the best thing about it is that it is FREE!
They usually define any and every ezine as spam. In return use spamming software
Here is a Free little utility which can help you to reduce spam.
Bounce Spam Mail lets you send fake bounce message to spammer to
pretend your address is invalid. It delivers the "Mail System
Error -Returned Mail" message to the sender.
I am using it constantly and although it won't help you if the
spammer's address is fake, it still is an excellent simple little
tool to fake your way out of many spam lists!
It is easy to install and use.
The home page the program is giving is http://ay.home.ml.org/
but if you will have problems to access this page you can also
download it from my site at
http://www.makeyourhobbysell.com/freebies/bsm18.zip
Click at the above link and save it to your computer. The file
name is bsm18.zip, 271 KB, so you will need an Unzip utility for
running it. It has 2 files: bsm18.txt - where you find info about
this software, and bsm18.exe - which is the actual program.
It is a good idea to put a shortcut on your desktop for fast
access.
Folks, this is already causing profound changes.
So many people started signing up, it crashed the server.
For 2 days! Super fast upgrades quickly solved the problem.
However...
thousands who did look at the site, simply didn't send
[Maybe you all were in a hurry to get home for dinner?]
I want to fix this problem by giving everyone one-last-shot.
I personally want to sent ALL adlands digest
If you like the audio presentation, sign-up and get 250
FREE "Talking" Emails to send to others. No obligations.
This is NOT a autoresponder! I will manually send you
Good luck everyone. Offer will not be repeated.
Hello Bogdan and Fellow AdLanders!
I'm currently looking to interview a few small
to mid-sized retailers with an online store. I
know from past experience that AdLand is great
resource for finding small business owners.
Specifically, I need retailers who are using
an internal search engine on the web site to
allow customers to more easily find product.
I'm interested in the software provider (or how
hard it was to build internally), customer feed-
back, improvement in sales once implemented (if
any), and your general thoughts on how well it
works or ideas for improvement.
This will be part of an article, or possible series,
that will appear on my About Retail Industry site
Retail and About Industry and Business Newsletters.
You'll be quoted by name, title and business, plus
there will be a link to your web site if your
doing and I'm usually sensitive to criticism.  However, I reckon those
offering constructive advice are doing me a favour, so I'll try to
relax.  ;-)
http://www.survivaljuice.com
Our site does deal with the products of an MLM company and some may
feel this submission is done only to get your eyes to our site.
However, the company's compliance department recently reviewed the
site to ensure it complied with their guidelines.  The result was that
we removed a few of the most interesting pages.  Perhaps one or more
reviewers may be able to tell us what ought to be added.  We can then
add that information and have those pages checked by Compliance as
well.
I'd really appreciate any useful suggestion or advice,
From:Robert Lee
Subject:http://www.jeanasdigs.com
Hi Rajeana,
I took a look at your site and I must admit, the layout is very well done. You
have tackled an interesting subject matter and allowed your personality to show
through (since no one could write like that without at least 'having' a
personality!).
I would recommend these changes though:
Use some code to stop underlining your link urls to other pages. Your navigation
is well laidout and thoughtful but too much of your text is ALL UPPERCASE and
when you underline text as well as hyperlinks it gets hard to distinguish what I
should click on and what is just for effect.
I have a sample of the code here:
http://www.datingdating.com/b2b/tips_and_tricks.htm
Your pages have a lot of information, which is great, I am sure people will
spend a lot of time on your site doing some interesting reading - but only as
long as they can properly view the 8 point text you have written everything in.
You may want to increase the font size you are using to 10 point. Or at least
emphasize some important text with a larger font.
Every page has a title: You have limited your use of this important feature of
your pages by not fully using the 60 or so characters that will appear in the
basic title bar of someone's browser. As well, the title is what information is
saved when someone bookmarks that page, so it's a good idea that the title
effectively describes the content 'of that page' not the whole site.
Your site is written for display screens of 800x600 and because I can tell that
it is the size of resolution you have your monitor set at you need to look at
your site with a resolution of 1024x768. All of your pages at "left aligned"
leaving a right column of white. You may want to either center the table you are
using or change them from a set width (width=770) to a variable width
(width=100%) to better use the space on every page.
In all, you have a good idea that has a great future, as long as you can
maintain the addition of content more and explain the links you have and will
add to your site.
Happy selling!
Hi John,
Risking it all at once by inviting me, eh?
LOL
Ok here goes:
I have frames - unless used properly they confuse and breakup pages. Yours is no
exception. Take a look at the java menu you have nested inside the left frame -
it opens the page you want to navigate to "inside the frame!" Since the menu is
listed as "Site Index" I have to assume that this is a designer mistake. If it
isn't and you are intentionally opening the menu where it is (which would work
for the fabrics, I kind of like how they appear in there) then the fabric
samples should be opening on the right frame, not as a popup page. That, John,
is a major mistake in page design!
The top navigation buttons "Back" and "Forward" end suddenly - the final
"Forward", if you run out of pages, should be your home page not just the button
not working anymore!
As a rule, your logo should link back to your home page.
You need to add measurements of the stuff - how big is that bib anyways? Having
someone wear it is great, but what if she is 5 foot tall instead of 6 foot?
There is no way to tell how it will look on someone of a different height, is
there?
I really like the merchandise you have and think that you have a great way to
sell your stuff. I'd definitely add more pictures. Be sure to take a picture of
everything you make to sell and have a virtual tour or slideshow also, I am sure
visitors will spend much time looking at pictures of stuff that has already
sold.
Well John, that wasn't so bad, was it?
Happy Selling!
Well, you have a Website. But what's it about? That's what I kept asking myself
"free" anymore. Finally after reading through it and clicking a few links, I got
Please let me, the first time visitor know that right up front. Also, I think
the angry tone from the Home page seemed to stay with me as I read the rest of
the site and your offers of free links. Were you mad at the world when you wrote
Good luck, and try and have Fun, or if you are, let that show through in what
nice little products, but do try and get some better pictures. They seemed very
fuzzy to me and that doesn't show off the product very well. I don't have any
suggestions as to getting the pages to load faster, other then to reduce the
size of the photos.
And please do something about the Home page. Takes Way to long to load. remove
the picture and have a nice logo built. And what's with the drop box in the
upper left corner? Only one link in it and that doesn't go anywhere. I wish you
luck with it, but right now it screams, I just made this up on my little old
I wish you luck, but it needs work, as I'm sure you know. I hope others can give
Hello Rajena!
I saw your review request here in good
old Adland. Are you sitting down? Ok
good, cause here we goooo!!!!!!!
Your theme:
I here you. You are crying out!
You are disgusted with the web. Or got scammed.
I come to these conclusions from your articles.
>From what you have seen and or your experiences
on the web, you decided to create your web site.
I commend you on your noble effort.
The look and feel:
You have a fun looking site. Your logo at the
top of the page looks cool. The color scheme
is pleasing to the eye. The clip art you use
gives a comic feel which makes it fun. Personally
speaking the one clip art on the shopping page
about the penis enlargment is offensive. Say
it aint so Rajena. Say it aint so. I would never
post anything like that on one of my sites.
I would remove it.
The technical stuff:
Your use of tables and their structure is
fair. Unless you like nonconistancy.
However the site is easy to navigate save the
2 non hyperlinked text in your top navigation
area. Did you over look them when you mapped
the .jpg imaged for it? The edtor you used
to generate your pages is interesting. The code
is clean and not very blotted.
Nice use if the meta redirect and browser
management with JavaScript.
But.......
Your meta tags are fair. Title tag poor
and a poor choice of key words.
Get free advice on optimum use of meta tags
by contacting me at  my free component
domain. http://jgp-distribution.com/index.php
May I suggest when you are finished with your
web site. You change your file names of your
webpages to match the theme of your pages. Looks
better and spidered better in the search engines.
As for your content? Well Rajena, I AM a
Master of the Web. I have been around the old
web block a few times. Been to the end of the
internet and back. Your intentions good and well
founded, but none of your stuff appealed to
me at all. Same old stuff I have seen over
and over.
It may attract some newbies that do not know
any better. You have went out there and posted
what free stuff you can find. Collected it in
one place to share with others. You have pitted
yourself against the very internet itself!! I have
seen all the things you have posted before. With
a very small percentage of them being worth
anything in regards to free benefit. Been
there, done them all.
I visited your message board. It is new dead and
lifeless with banners that don't load. Good luck
with it. Getting a message board to come alive with
posts and visitors is not an easy task. Believe me
I know. :) My board community has been up for a while
and is still slow! I even offer hosting boards for
free with no takers.
All yawl at Adland come visit my board!!!
http://jgptophost.com/index.php
I am down on my knees..... LOL!! LOL!!!
In summary:
Hi Rejeana
I did like your article on the home page.Your very informed to the point, but
still good. Well I like the content of the site, I'm Interested in submitting
some articles. But on the click here for webmaster freebies. It's littered with
banner ads. Not Too thrilling. Try mixing it with text links . What I need to
know. How are you currently marketing it.
Well Ronald
After reading Information on Robert Lee's comments about your site. Infact, I do
agree with Mr. Lee on this factor since he done alot of leg work on the research
aspect. But I'm going to say something sublime and if you thought Mr. Lee's
review was blasting. Mine may just as worse. On this e-book, how do you expect
to be successful just selling one product. Didn't anybody tell you selling one
thing at a time won't make much difference. I did look at your site and well, it
doesn't impress me much with a get rich type of book. The market is littered
with these kind of books
Let me guess, your a get rich quicker looking for shallow MLM' ers to buy your
product. Maybee get rich quicker themselves will come in droves to lay their
money down. Believe me, it will be a short live feeding frenzy since I can spot
them a mile away. And how they present themselves is perplexing jumping from one
plan to another.
Since you don't take time out to fix broken links, and since Mr.Lee wanted to
know how well milliondollare emails do. In my opinion and my anyalis, it
probably flopped. Either way, they all stink. If no sample chapters materializes
according to Mr. Lee's request. It boils down to a sole purpose to con us into a
complete racket. I like to see what happens next, a long and drawn out retort of
feelings being hurt. I'm sorry for this review adlanders, but I am just being
honest
=====================Site Review Response  (7)===============
From:Ronald Webb
Subject:http://www.AMillionaireMind.com
Hello Bogdan and all Ad Digest Subscribers,
My name is Ronald Webb, I am the owner and founder of AMillionaireMind.com.
I'd like to respond to the comments made by the reviewers of my website. I would
first like to address James Pendleton's timely comment regarding learning to
take "constructive criticism;" James I welcome with open arms constructive
criticism, i.e., examining one's work and offering valuable points that people
can use to improve and build on. Robert Lee did not offer constructive
criticism; he wrongly assumed I was an affiliate trying to get a free ride on Ad
Digest's coattails, although it was a "left-handed" compliment it was not
constructive criticism. He is very dogmatic in reviewing other people's site and
his opinions don't offer much value; I would now like to address Roberts Lee's
latest review. It's funny, because after reading it, I smiled. As I want to keep
this short, so I will get to my point, and I think this will be an education for
all the readers. It is obvious that Robert is very anti-MLM so you are therefore
assumed guilty before you can prove you're innocent. Again, I smile. I can
understand why he and many
others feel that way. Most of us have joined so-called opportunities that
promised to provide a supplementary income and end our money worries, only to be
utterly disappointed. As we know the 95/5 per cent rule. 95% will fail because
of poor business planning, or the owners never intended to fulfill what they've
promised, while 5% will succeed because of integrity, good work ethics, a good
business plan, offering a needed product or service and a fair compensation
plan. What happens is most people cannot see the truth as it is clouded by hype
and out right lies. Those looking to profit from ill-gotten gains know the naïve
and inexperienced are looking to get something for nothing along with little or
no work and that is what they promise them. My ebook AMillionairemind.com was
written to teach others how to avoid the hype and to find and run a business
that is right for them; a business that will earn a good income if they are
willing to work for it. Now I would like to address the rest of your review.
Ronald, you hide your website behind this url:
http://beam.to/AMillionairemind.com.
The first thing that it tells me is that you have an affiliate site that has a
very bad web address, maybe a geocities or free servers free web site? Something
that needs a forwarding url to seem professional. Even though this is not
actually the fact, it is the result of how your site url appears!
Robert, "hide?" You're wrong on all counts. Let me explain. I teach to others
the importance of tracking your URL's to see how many people show an interest in
your ad or URL. I would first like to thank the 157 Adland Digest subscribers
that viewed my website and the many that joined the free affiliate program, and
are building their organization. Robert, I use the Businessworldlist.com
safelist to promote my offer and they also have an ad tracking feature. It is a
long url, which can sometimes cause the link to break, I copy and paste their
link into a shorter easy to read beamto redirect link to avoid that problem,
that's all.
Robert says:
And I noticed that your site is designed by "Synergy Interactive Marketing" at
http://www.simcoweb.com/
Is this also your own website? Do you work for these Simcoweb people? Why is
there no other information about yourself, your services etc at simcoweb.com?
Robert, I've never said I designed the website, Synergy Interactive Marketing is
my website designer. I do not work for them I hired them to design my site. That
is why there is no information about me on their site.
It must be, since you designed and created all of the information at
amillionairemind.com. So I also took a look there, looking for information of
you, about you, etc (which, by the way, was sadly missing from your web site. I
have to ask myself why?), we have seen many other MLM sites that hide the owners
identity. All for purposes that become crystal clear, months after the last of
the checks have been cashed. Although your "6 levels deep" ebook sales may earn
someone somewhere a few dollars, I have my doubt about the possibilities of your
program, and this is the forum for me to comment about your program/ebook.
I am trying to be brief in my response but this need's to be addressed, I wrote
most of the web copy, but as I said Synergy Interactive Marketing is the website
designer. I agree, information about me is missing, and as I said, this program
is very new and material continues to be added on to the site (by the way, this
is what I would call constructive criticism, a bit rough but constructive).
However, do understand, many websites can write glowing reviews about themselves
and still not produce what they promise, or give a false address and disappear.
If you are not honest from the beginning you will never last for the long term,
I am here for the long haul. .
I have a background in marketing and advertising but my experience comes from
the school of hard knocks, the best university on the planet, because no matter
where you graduate from you will still have to attend that school of experience.
My "six level deep" compensation plan is similar to any affiliate program on the
net. Although, today most people define affiliate programs as having no more
then two tiers and multi-level as having three or more. I feel the additional
levels will add more income than only using two. Network marketing multi-level
system is a $380 Billion industry. Of the more than 500,000 millionaires in the
U.S., 23 % of them made their first fortunes in network marketing which, by the
way, allowed them to spend time at home with their families. For those that seek
out and find the right companies will discover this is a good and honourable
business, and with time and work they can earn much more then the few dollars
you,ve mentioned, and I want to help, like I said, I am here for the long haul.
Everything on the internet is shrouded in doubt. Your doubts about my program or
doubts others have about any program including your own all require taking some
level of risk.
We must put up our defences to not be taken in by the huckster, but we mustn't
lose out on the excellent opportunity to earn money that are available in a
well-prepared mlm or other online businesses that are out there. We must learn
to not let the hype cloud our judgement and we must perform our due diligence,
especially if there is an investment of monies involved
Robert the information obtained is of course available to anyone with a little
online experience. But you've used the data to jump to the wrong conclusions,
particularly for someone who "makes a living" reviewing website and their
services.
Adsuccessnow.com was my first venture, but I hired a shady website designer to
create my site and it was never completed. Lesson learned. And as for the ebook:
Million Dollar emails this is one of the best ebooks on the market and it is
still available in my reseller library. Bottom line is this, the selling of
information is still the most lucrative product available for the average person
to make above average income. This coupled with an additional income as an
amillionairemind.com member/affiliate along with the other proven educational
and marketing programs offered on the site makes this a worthy business
opportunity for anyone to consider. I rest my case.
To stay as brief as possible, I will not reply to the rest of your review. I may
consider sharing a chapter of my book to the group at some future date, but the
business is actually building very well on its own right now.
Robert, I look forward to seeing how you in fact helped so many people earn an
income with all of your great expertise.
Explode Your Sales With Banner Ads!
ByA.T.Rendon
Contrary to rumors of the death of Banner Ads,
the banner ad remains one of the three most
popular forms of advertising on the Internet.
Actually, banner ads ARE the best form of online ads!
Internet advertising expenditures declined overall
in 2001, yet this decline was felt in all advertising
sectors of the economy and the online decline was
actually less that that found in other advertising sectors.
According to the Internet Advertising Bureau's
(IAB), http://www.iab.net/ the online Ad Formats
break down as follows:
"Percentage use of various ad formats remained fairly
consistent in 2001. Formats tracked and their respective
share of 2000 and 2001 full year revenue are: "
              2000 2001
Banners                 48% 36%
Sponsorships 28% 26%
Classifieds 7% 16%
Ad revenues for 2002 are expected to surpass
these figures with the majority of the ad revenues
being funneled into Banner Ad campaigns.
In a report compiled and released by Engage, Inc.
http://www.engage.com/, they announced that their:
"Study Reveals That Viewing of Online Ads
Alone, Regardless of Click-Through, Leads
To Sales".
This report has put a new spin on the
traditional methods behind banner ads
because the lead finding determined that
there is a strong pattern emerging of users
who recently saw an online ad and converting
that ad exposure into a sale.
There is now a measurable and concrete
value to an ad impression WITHOUT a click-thru.
Advertisers will now need to pay attention to
the 99% of people that don't click-thru
on their ads but do take note of the message for
future reference and visits.
This fundamentally raises the monetary value
of the Internet as an advertising medium,
because this analysis demonstrates that
just seeing a banner ad alone WILL
create sales.
With these new findings in mind, for a
banner ad to work well , they will need
to encompass these three "KEY" elements:
1. Highly Targeted.
You must know who is in your market is
in order to effectively target your ad
campaigns.
Your banners should be placed on web
sites that will have visitors similar and
precisely to what your market needs.
2. Performance Based.
Internet advertising allows for interactivity.
The consumer can take action, which is why
banner ads that include the simple phrase,
"Click Here" have a greater ratio of success.
Any banner ad that does NOT have a call
or request to action will be a waste of
good advertising space and money.
3. Branding.
The old banner ad model just called for the
viewer to take action to click-thru to your
web site.
Now you need to convey your product "Brand"
so that viewers will remember it when they
find the need to visit you in the future.
Web site domain names which convey this
"Branding" can now be more effective than ever.
The 468 x 60 banner remains far and away
the most popular advertising form on the
Internet. Current pricing ranges from $20
to $45 per thousand exposures.
Even better are the FREE Banner
Ad Exchanges that are available.
Yes, believe it or not, there are still many FREE
banner ad exchange programs that can bring
you a steady flow of targeted traffic to your site.
And, do not worry if you do not have a banner ad
to use for exchange because there are still many
good FREE banner creation sites available online.
Make sure to take advantage of these FREE
banner resources so you can have your ads
working for you in this still vital method
of ad exposure online.
Use the above "KEY" ideas for your banner ad campaign
and you will explode your sales online.
=====================Joke of the Day   (1)===============
MOTHER TERESA
Mother Teresa dies and goes to heaven. God greets her at the Pearly Gates.
"Be thou hungry, Mother Teresa?" saith God.
"I could eat," Mother Teresa replies.
So God opens a can of tuna and reaches for a chunk of rye bread and they
share it. While eating this humble meal, Mother Teresa looks down into Hell
and sees the inhabitants devouring huge steaks, lobsters, pheasants,
pastries, and wines. Curious, but deeply trusting, she remains quiet.
The next day God again invites her to join him for a meal. Again, it is
tuna and rye bread. Once again, Mother Teresa can see the denizens of Hell
enjoying caviar, champagne, lamb, truffles, and chocolates. Still, she says
nothing.
The following day, when it's mealtime, God opens another can of tuna. When
she sees this, she suddenly can't contain herself any longer. Meekly, she
says: "God, I am grateful to be in heaven with you as a reward for the
pious, obedient life I led. But here in heaven all I get to eat is tuna and
a piece of rye bread, and in the Other Place they eat like emperors and
kings! I just don't understand..."
God sighs. "Let's be honest," he says. "For just two people, does it really
pay to cook?"
