Greetings All

                         ----===(*)===-----

I just received this link and thought that it would be of benefit to
show it to Adland Digest subscribers as it has very intersting
approach to technology and spirituality.

This is REALLY GOOD!!
When you click on the site, BE PATIENT, it took about 45 seconds,
but it IS there!! Keep looking at the window on the left or the picture on the
wall.....this is one of those dizzy things where the picture appears... .

Read the story below before you click on the link.
Have your sound ON for best atmospherics!

Apparently the owners of this house had been seeing
images and hearing voices for quite a while. They did
some research and found that a lady once lived in the
house who lost her husband during the civil war.

Legend says that she used to sit at the table and
look across the fields in anticipation of her loved one returning home. He
never came. So, they say she still waits. They caught this photo of what
they claim to be her.
This one is wild and a little spooky once you find
the ghost in the picture. It took me about 30 seconds to find it, but when
you do, it just stands out. Like one of those optical illusions.
To save you some time, concentrate around the table
and sort of towards the window. Click on /go to the following link for the
picture.

From:Andy Sparks
Subject:Oveture profits down, stock price is falling today.

Sorry if I am monopolizing the Digest this week but I would like to put my two
cents worth in about Overture.

I don't think I shared my recent frustration with Overture with the members of
the Digest but Overture wouldn't let me have a Key Word that was clearly
relevant to my offer.  I wasn't frustrated until I tried to go through their
appeal process to get the Key Word that I wanted.

I sell a real estate ebook and contained in the real estate ebook is a sample
real estate option agreement and a chapter about buying real estate with an
option.  The Key Word that I wanted was Real Estate Option. They insisted that
it was not relevant to my offer.

It wouldn't have been so bad but I did a search for real estate option on
Overture and the sites that the search returned had nothing to do with a real
estate option.

I became convinced that Overture was only interested in sucking cash from my
account (not that I spent much) and couldn't care less if I was profitable.

I couldn't understand how a business that relies upon the success of it's
advertisers could stop caring about it's advertiser's profits and not expect
negative consequences.

I was watching on of the business channels today and they reported Overture's
profits were down and the stock was falling. I am certain that my $20 a month
didn't make any difference but it appears that I am not the only one.

thanks for letting me vent.

Subject:Oveture profits down, stock price is falling today.

Hi All,

Andy, I going to have to agree with You. Overture is frustrating the H*LL
out of me.

I have spent countless hours researching key words, writing descriptions, and
typing them into Overture's clumsy "add listing" system only to have
about 90% of them rejected!

These are the same Keywords and Descriptions that I use in a few other
PPC Search Engines, that were accepted with little to no problem. Heck
I have just spent the better part of today trying to add 5 Earthblock related
keywords, and have had them declined 4 consecutive times!

Every time I go to add keywords to my Overture account, I do not look forward to
it...it's like being a lightweight going against the heavyweight
champ and you know the results.

And to add insult to injury, they send me emails letting me know that they
will be charging my account up to $20 by the end of the month because I
haven't met their click throughs quota! It's kind of hard to meet that quota
when they keep rejecting all my keywords that other PPCSE's accept...they
then go on to say that I can add more keywords to my account or raise the
bids on the keywords that I have fought to have put in there!

Needless to say...when my account reaches zero dollars I will no longer be
using their services. Think I'll go give the new Lycos pay per click service a
try...

To Your Success,
Ben Marroquin

From:John Olson
Subject:GP

William,

There are a lot of sites out there to help people see what is a scam and what is
a really opportunity. The WWSN is one, but it is one that I refuse to go to, or
to give the time of day to. They maybe right a lot of the time, that doesn't
make the way they have treated people and companies right.

They have set themselves up a judge, jury and executioner. If a company doesn't
answer their questions the way they think they should be answered then it's a
scam, no if and's or buts. Take for example a company that answered all their
questions right, Zigbiz a SkyBiz knock off. The people who started this little
thing were all SkyBiz founders. But they made some changes and formed Zigbiz and
are now offering the same products SkyBiz was pilloried for on the WWSN, but
because of a few minor changes and because they answer the questions right, they
were given the WWSN Seal of Approval.

I won't say that the products offered by ZigBiz are bad, just Over priced. The
opportunity is almost the same, and even the old die hard SkyBizer's have
finally jumped on board with this hoping to build back what they lost. But does
the WWSN rant and rave about ZigBiz? No, they call it a fine organization or
did, (I haven't been there in a while) because they made a few changes and
answered the questions put to them by the inquisitor deluxe at the WWSN.

I keep my ear to the ground, and I have learned a lot about what to look for in
a company. I have other sources for scams and sites to watch out for. I use to
visit the WWSN quite a bit, but that was before their concerted effort to kill a
program, just because... To belittle and call names all the members of the
program. To never let a week go by without trying to make fun, ridicule and
humiliate both the members and the program it's self.

It is one thing to sound the alarm bell. To warn people to watch out. And it's a
totally different thing to go out of your way to kill what could be a good
program. To take rumour and innuendo and make it fact. To constantly go after a
company by contacting others who have dealings with that company and run down
your list of suspicions as fact, in order to stop that company from working with
what they think is a scam.

For the most part, the WWSN was a fun little site to check out once in a while,
but not when they make it their mission in life to Kill a program and a company.
They are not the Internet Scam Police. They just think they are.

I will find my information somewhere else thank you.

Adrian,

Whatever happens with GP will happen. The thing I object to is the tactics
employed by people who have set themselves up as the Guardians of the Internet.
Maybe I fight so hard for GP because I see the possibilities. I see what it
could have been, and still might be. And I see the members, some of the finest
people I have ever run across. Maybe a fight for GP because of them. Because
they deserve to be fought for.

I have been thinking a lot about Going Platinum over the last few days. I still
think it can work. I still have a belief in the concept. But I also realize that
because of all the problems, missed chances, delays and changes, some internal
and some external, that it has a Very Up Hill fight on it's hands. I have some
hope that it will win the fight. But I am afraid it will be a Long time before
it is anything like what it would have been if it could have launched Much back
when it said it would. It can still work out but it is going to take a lot of
work and something GP has not had much of, LUCK.

Let's agree to disagree on this one, shall we.

I still feel that being a part of GP is a wise move. I do not feel it is wise to
spend any or much money on promoting it right now. I feel it is wise to join and
be a part of the community, to use the site and the services. To invite friends
in with you. But for Free, not paid, not right now. I feel, that any purchase
made from the stores in the GP Mall is a good thing. If GP is to make it, it
needs members to make use of what is there. And if someone is going to make a
purchase anyway, it can do no harm to make it with the GP Mall merchants. They
are all real companies that sell products and services outside of GP.

Going Platinum, like CASHevolution is a long term commitment right now. Nether
are likely to give someone over night riches and both have been promoted badly.
Especially at the start. I would just like GP to rise or fall on it's own,
without any help from the self proclaimed protectors of the Internet.

Let's just leave it a that, okay.

Hi, I am new here and I hope it is OK to butt in on your discussion, but I have
seen so much hype about autoresponders lately, I just can't keep silent about it
any more. I couldn't believe when I saw Lead Lightning come out with
autoresponders at that price! And only 25 of them! Not to mention GMT!'s prices!
For several months now I have been using wwKiosk's supersponders. An unlimited
supply of them, with both text and HTML capacity and more features than I have
ever needed in an autoresponder. And I did not even join wwKiosk for their
autoresponders, I joined it to host one of my sites., The supersponder, the FFA
site and the safelist franchise were a bonus. All that at a fraction of the cost
of what the others are charging for even one of those products. Just my 2 cents
and no, I don't own wwKiosk!

Subject:What makes a good autoresponder

In response to John Olsen:

With all due respect John, I checked out Automarketic
and have to disagree about them having more features
than LeadLightning. I believe you will find that LL have
more than double the amount offered by Automarketic.

I think you will find that the extra 95 cents would be
worth your while investing in Greensponder if you wish
to stick at the $17 a month level. They certainly have
many more usable features than your current supplier.

QuickTell is another ballgame altogether but we don't
supply unlimited responders for less than $30 so many
people will never discover what it's like to have a system
that does practically everything.

Our new product QT-Pro is something very special and
will be launched in a matter of days but I warn you that
it's price starts at $39.95. At that price it goes head to
head with LeadLightning which will cause quite a stir.

Meantime we will all have to suffer the $million annual
promises being made in LL's advertising coupled with
the rest of the hype being used to market their product.
It's a technique they may keep because we will forbid
our affiliates to use any hype, nor make income claims
and projections when promoting our product.

My preferred method of marketing is to discuss the
product's features and benefits and at the end tag on
"there's a nice income opportunity attached to it which
you may want to check out."

While discussing income, I want to point out that the
best MLM products to market are consumables as they
are the only way of guaranteeing residual income. Both
hosting and autoresponders are perfect consumables
and yet those people chasing income opportunities
tend to prefer cheap, low paid alternatives to the ones
that allow you to achieve your goals. Personally I find
that fascinating.

Adrian Elman

Subject:What makes a good autoresponder

This is to Adrian Elman

Adrian maybe if I was Bill Gates I would need an auto responder
like the one your where talking about.  But I am a very small
businessperson who needs a simple auto responder and a low cost
one at that.

In regards to the GMT I agree it is a simple one.  And if you
upgrade like you say YOU DO NOT have to send out the 100 e-mails
it is for your own personal use and do what ever you want with
it.  And they DO NOT have the GMT advertisement on the upgrade
one.

And if you say it is another Skybiz, you know what I know a lot
of people who got thousands of dollars doing Skybiz.  And it is
true maybe some didn't because again it was you made money
signing up people and building a downline and this is hard for
some people.  Well, in GMT you DO NOT have to sign up anyone to
make money.  You can make $12,000 in 8 months doing nothing.  And
if they do get shut down well, I had a good investment where can
I get this kind of interest in today's market making $12,000 in 8
months on $199 investment.  HUH. And if it is money game I have
made good money doing NOTHING.

And I DID NOT have to buy 3 auto responders.  You are allowed to
buy 3 auto responders per household and that is it.  I bought one
Sept 2 and now have made over $400 so, I got money back doing
NOTHING.  And it is true you can get extra bonus for getting
people to buy the auto responder.  Like right now if I get 6
people to buy one I will get an extra $220 every 6 weeks.  So, I
thought why not.

Oh by the way I have used their auto responder because I also
sell health products.  It was simple to use but for me I never
used one before so I had to get use to it.

Thanks Judie

What makes a good responder for me is the fact -- it's free.  I
use:

http://www.sendfree.com

and I like that they also swap ads.  I can choose what type of
ads will go at the top of my autoresponder and write a 5 line
add that will go on top of other sendfree users.

The site makes it easy for me to add my ezine articles and I
can send up to 12 additional autoresponders free if I want as
follow-ups.

I don't use the additional autoresponders as I think there is a
fine line between spamming and just giving the people what they
asked for.

But with the 12 autoresponder capability, you can write a
course and offer it free.  Then have it sent out every day, or
every two days.

The site also offers a Premium Service which you pay for should
your business need more than what the free service offers.

With Sendfree, I also get an email when someone has requested
one of my articles.  Their email address is on it so if you
wanted to build a list of email addresses you could.  I don't
because I figure the people did not "opt in" to receive a bunch
of emails from me -- just the article I was offering.

Subject:What makes a good autoresponder

Its not a secret that I use hundreds of autoresponders.  Replying to my
customers and downline members as quickly as possible is very important.   I
find autoresponders a life saver because I can set up various training info,
contact all my downline members at once, store pertinent info, and numerous
other uses.  I use autoresponders more for the purpose stated than I do for
leads/advertising.

I joined LL early on.  Within an hour of joining I was past the monthly fee
and in commissions.  However, I cancelled my membership.  I personally felt
the 40 dollar monthly fee was too high for the products.  Their
autoresponder system is very simplistic.  I also felt it a tad ironic that
the program is called LeadLightning when members may only import 25 leads
per week.  As far as their trackers go...well those are a dime a dozen and
less.  Many safelists and various programs offer free trackers.

I presently use 'Smart Autoresponder'...it's 15 dollars per month, unlimited
quality autoresponders, ad trackers, import features, send to list feature,
all the bells and whistles.  Members can earn 4 dollars per referral.  With
only 4 referrals the whole system is now free.

If you would like the url to Smart Autoresponders, you may send me an email.
It is not my intention to place my affiliate url here.  It is my intention
to present to you a good quality autoresponder system at a reasonable price.

Hi Laurie & Fellow Adlanders,

Some ISP's have definitely gone too far in their attempt to rid spam
from our lives.  I recently learned that someone who requested
information from my autoresponder didn't receive it because their ISP
determined it to be spam and blocked it because of a sentence that was
used in the body of the message.

Guess what that sentence was?  "If I can be of any assistance please
call my toll-free telephone number...." My message was blocked because
of the word, free.

I dislike spam as much as anyone, but if ISP's continue to block our
mail because of an innocent word that is used in the subject or body of
our email messages, as they did to mine, I'm afraid email marketing for
the online business owner is in danger of becoming extinct.

Subject:Spam has me stumped

I've been using SpamCop a lot lately. Unfortunately
the spam does not always stop. But through
SpamCop, we all can make a difference.

I have seen a major difference in only a week.
Some of our email accounts that were spammed
non-stop have actually dried up of spam! I suspect
this is because some law-breaker who was selling
our address to unsuspecting novices was caught and
put out of business, or maybe they just removed our
email addresses from their harvested lists. But at least
we have stopped the problem at our end.

SpamCop helps you go after spammers. This service
is free. Often, spammers lose their accounts and even
get charged "cleanup fees" by their internet providers.
Unfortunately, life is still too easy for the spammer. They
sign up with new accounts as fast as they are down. By
reporting spam, you can help to turn the tide. SpamCop
makes this otherwise slow and technical task quick
and easy.

Also, it seems that many spammers are innocents who
don't have a clue that they are purchasing bogus, illegal
harvested email addresses. Once they are threatened
with termination of their websites, email accounts, etc.
They get the message pretty fast and no longer spam or
buy harvested email addresses.

SpamCop is a free service and very simple to operate.

I love it and recommend it to everyone.

>> 6) Using annoying pop up windows

While I agree with this statement to SOME extent, when used correctly and
politely, pop-up windows can actually INCREASE response and customer
satisfaction dramatically. My newsletter subscriptions increased some 78%
when I started using a pop-up subscription  window upon the entrance to my
site. The thing that my pop ups does NOT do is pop up more than once per
session / visit. If they chose to close or otherwise ignore the window, it
won't continue to pop up.

But I can't stand multiple pop ups on one page, or the especially excessive
pop ups upon leaving a site. Just because I am leaving your site doesn't
mean you should inundate me with ads, exit exchanges, etc., etc. In fact,
when I leave a site that does that, they can be SURE I will NEVER return.

So, I think that, when used PROPERLY pop ups can indeed increase customer
satisfaction and response.

Subject:Keep on plugging

First, I want to say I was the subscriber who mentioned
http://www.trafficranking.com and congratulate you on moving
up.

I have to laugh though because after I checked the site again,
my site moved down but that was due to my taking the last two
months to write another ebook and design a web site for a
non-profit for free.

So I did not put in my usual marketing time.  In fact, I
haven't for the last six months and the reason for my slippage.
But your site does prove, once you get past a certain point in
your marketing, the momentum of all you've done will culminate
and take on a "life" of its own.

I agree with you entirely when you say "keep on plugging" away
because the Internet offers a wealth of opportunity but you do
have to work at it all the time.

Now I have seen some excellent posts on what makes a good MLM
program and what doesn't.  Frankly, they are not for me but I
found the posts interesting.  My suggestion is "why aren't
these people writing articles and emailing them to lists and
placing them on article portal sites?"

This is the best marketing method and absolutely free to do.  I
attribute the fact I am one of the top 300,000 sites because of
my articles.  And, I've never spent a dime on advertising to
get there!

Like you said Bogdan, there are times when it did get
discouraging especially in the first few years but it would be
the same in a brick and mortar store when "walk-ins" slowed.
At least on the Internet, you do not have the enormous costs
nor do you have to leave your nice comfy chair.

We both realized we were in this for the long haul -- quite
frankly I like the fact that the "readers" of my books are just
being born today and this realization is what keeps me going
:-)

Plus I love being my own boss (huge grin here).

Dear Mr. Fiedur,
In a few words - I am the author of the book "Balkan Connection", series

Note from Editor

Hi  Vladimir,

Each area of interests requires targeted audience.
Nobody can guarantee audiences in each specific
area but if you are in this particular business for
the long run, you need to master ways of getting
your own audience and keep in touch with them.
The rest will go on its own.

You need tools to help you with developing your
audience. It will take some time to understand
how the tools work and  even knowing them
it will take some time to develop your audience,
but once accomplished you are set.

I can recommend two items at this point.

1. Check Adlandpro Gold Member program here.
http://www.adlandpro.com/memberofferPromo.asp

2. Get yourself  software to put your book in electronic
format.
http://refer.ebookedit.com/click.cgi?id=adland

Here you can check how your book could look
after using software from the above page.

Any advice on getting more traffic would be appreciate (as an
aside, website is paying for itself, i.e., hosting, advertising
and such).  After reading Adland for three years, I think I'm
doing everything to some degree ever mentioned,i.e., newsletter,
content, navigation, something free, load time seems to be okay,
information. Just started advertising off line and trying to
optimize my pages. Polling subscribers. Keep it updated.  But I
still feel like I'm missing something or I could be doing
something differently or better.  Any advice would be appreciated.

=====================Site Review Response  (1)===============
From:John Olson
Subject: http://www.logonfl.com/welcome

David,

Well, you have quite a business there. After looking over several of the pages,
I didn't find any glaring errors, typos and the like, not that I am the best
person to look for those things. I was wondering if this was a sneaky way to get
people to look over your opportunity, and while I still think it might be, I did
find what I think are some problems with some of the links you provide.

On your "More" page, you go over what it is you are offering people and have
several links to different pages so we can see what things look like. All well
and good, but when the page being opened needs a password, it makes things a
little difficult to look at what you are offering to show us. If you are going
to show us what something looks like, show us. These links should be removed or
fixed.

While I won't comment on your opportunity, I will say that the site looks fine,
a little plain, but fine. The Portal site demo's, which are working, look okay
too. You give us your contact information and address which is good also.

But you are asking us to sign up and market our own branded ISP. I think I would
want more before I did it. How about some testimonials, if you've been in
business for a while, there should be some people with you we can read about.
And I mean real people we can E-mail and ask questions of.

Also, I think for what you are offering, the site should not be so plain. I
don't mean it needs to be jazzed up with Flash and a ton of pictures, but it
needs something to make it look like a real business, not something that was
thrown together in someone's basement.

Your FAQ page seems to talk about the computer financing almost more then the
ISP thing. And I think you should talk more about the marketing support you will
offer. Because that is the hard part that most people can't do and need help
with. Which is the one part of the business you leave to people who sign up to
handle.

I wish you luck and I wish luck to any who take you up on the offer.

John Olson

=====================Site Review Response  (2)===============
From:John Olson
Subject: http://rikies-biz.com

Rikie,

You have tried and that says a lot about you. But you asked us to tell you how
we find your site? This is how I find it:

First off, your home page, is what? A set of links to other pages. Nothing there
to make me want to hang around, nothing to tell me who you are or what you do.
Just the links to the other pages and I have to guess what this site is all
about.

Sorry to start off this way, but...

Next, keep all the backgrounds the same on all the pages. Find one you like and
stick with it. Then, cantering everything down the page is bad form. Don't do
it. It makes it harder to read, and is a sure sign of someone who doesn't know
what they are doing.

Any link that takes people off your site, should open a New Window. I clicked on
several links, but then had to use the back button on my browser to get back to
your site. I don't like that, neither will your visitors.

I know you have your drop down boxes all over, but you need normal navigation
links on every page, twice. Once on the top or side and once on the bottom.

Okay Rikie, what is it you want this site to do? What is it about? Find that
focus and run all the rest through that filter. What is the theme? And your
"Home" page is where to start. Tell us who you are, and what this site is about.
What we will find on it and why we need to come back.

I think you have a lot of thinking and work ahead of you Rikie and I wish you
well with it. You have a start, now you just need to develop it, refine it, work
it, and build it.

Good luck and take care,

John Olson

From:Andy Sparks
Subject: http://Rikies-biz.com

We have problems from the word go.  Your home page is a bunch of links to Rikies
Self Help Magazine and Rikies this or that.  I am certain that this is a great
ego boost but it ain't going to sell sister.

You don't have enough text on your home page for a search engine spider to
remotely consider your site as relevant. I think the minimum is 125 words and
300 or more is preferable.

You have about 30 seconds to grab someone's attention before they click away.
Rikies Self Help ezine is not an attention grabber.

You have two kinds of visitors to your web site, real people and search engine
spiders and you have to keep both in mind when building a site.  Right now, I
don't think either are going to be impressed.

You have made the most common mistake made by Internet Marketers, your site is
written from your own perspective and not from the perspective of a visitor.
Don't worry, everybody does it and emotionally detaching from your own creation
and looking at it objectively is much more difficult than it sounds.

I followed your self help ezine link and there is way to much blinking, colors
and movement for my eyes to settle down and read what you have to say.  It is
perfectly acceptable to center headlines or occasional text for emphasis but too
much is difficult to read.

As it is now, I think your message gets lost in all the action and colors.  I
tried to read your page but my eyes kept bouncing around the page and I couldn't
focus on what you had to say.

Now if your target audience was a child or you were selling toys or something
that was light-hearted your format would be fine.  You are promoting a self-help
ezine and you need to be taken seriously by real people visitors and the search
engine spiders.

When people arrive at your site, they have one main question in mind, "Does this
site have something I need?"  If you can answer that question in thirty seconds
or less on your home page, you are way ahead of the game.

You need to think about the benefits a visitor receives from your ezine.  If
subscribers to your ezine have lost weight, made more money, or whatever, then
you need to say so quickly and clearly on your home page.

Tone down the colors and animation and focus on the benefits that a visitor
receives from your ezine and things will go much better.

One big problem may be your cart REQURIES cookies. Many people browse block
cookies (I make mine ask me, but I tried it with yours in IE 6 - and it kept
saying my cart was empty - after I added an item.)
You may try the cart at
http://www.dansie.net/cgi-bin/referral.pl?id=bmdenterprises.net
It is what I use - (no referral $$ if you get it, but if I sell 3 carts - I do
get 1 free - but that is NOT why I am telling you - I don't need another cart
that badly :o))
But this cart uses cookies OR IP address, so if a user has cookies disabled, it
will still work. My sister works for Ford, and the internet at her work has
cookies disabled at the hub, so she cannot go to any site that REQUIRES cookies
to use it -

Also, Your site WITH cookies worked fine in Netscape 6 (you can download it FREE
to check yourself in the future) but many people also have Netscape 4.0 and do
not realize they can upgrade free, and Netscape 4.0 MANY people I have heard
have problems with shopping carts. And same thing, At Ford, they use Netscape
4.0, and on the employee computers, they cannot download ANYTHING to them at
all, so therefore the employees are not upgraded until the company does an
upgrade company wide.

This is in regards to a request in the last issue of Adland Digest

quite well-laid-out and easily accessible, as well as extremely well
written.  It does contain somewhat common misspellings and grammatical
inconsistencies, all of which can be easily and affordably "fixed".  If Mr.
Weed desires, he may visit our site, http://www.written-solutions.com and

How Hard Is It To Get Guaranteed Sales From Guaranteed Visitors ?
By Detlev Reimer

You will certainly have come across one of those "guaranteed visitors"
deals already. Ads like : "Do you need traffic ? We'll send 50,000 or
even 100,000 visitors to your site - starting today" promise the solution
to every webmaster's nightmare about not getting enough visitors to his
web site. Most of the times, these visitors are delivered in the form of
pop-unders at high traffic sites .

Let's suppose you're an Internet marketer and you're selling a $20 ebook.
Then they make nice strategic numbers' games like : If only 1% of those
50,000 bought your $20 ebook, you would make $10,000 from an
investment of, let me say $180. If Internet marketing was that easy then
why are the "gurus" telling us how important it is to get TARGETED
traffic ?

Untargeted Traffic Does Not Convert, Or Does It ?

It's easy : Those conversion numbers don't exist . You'll never get a
1% to buy anything from you even if you are the marketing guru
yourself. Terry Dean , for example, did a lot of intensive testing of those
guaranteed visitor deals for his Netbreakthroughs site
(http://www.internetmarketing-success.com/netbreakthroughs/)
and he found out that none of these deals offered real value for his money
.

Why is this the case ? Well, people are always in a hurry. You might have
a great headline that works every time an Internet marketer reads it. But
how many of those guaranteed visitors might be Internet marketers ? In
other words, your own conversion numbers are based on TARGETED
traffic. If someone reads it who has nothing to do with your business, why
should he click on your links ?

What Kind Of Businesses Could Profit From Those Guaranteed Visitors ?

Only those businesses which don't sell something to a niche market but
rather to the masses could be able to make some sales. They might sell
music CDs, Videos, something for your kitchen (everybody has got to
eat...), flowers and that sort of things. That might be something which
could be selling, although I haven't read any tests about it so far.

But even with that kind of products, you will have a hard time selling
them. Or do you personally buy from a site where you have never bought
anything before ? Sales are made from relationships of the customer to
the seller, not to the product. That might be different if you sell
products
which are so much in demand that people would buy everywhere to get
them. I think, this was the case with those Tamagotchis when they came
up a couple of years ago...

You Need More Than Just One Contact To Close The Sale

The best option would be if you could entice them to join your mailing
list. But these could be the most expensive subscribers you've ever
received. The word FREE is overused these days . If someone announces
his new newsletter as a FREE newsletter and even TARGETED visitors
give it a shrug and say "So what?", how can you expect to get untargeted
visitors to join your newsletter ?

Another question would be how loyal would these subscribers be when
they only joined because they could receive something for free ... ?

In Closing...

If you would invest that $180 in a pay per click campaign with Overture
or one of those other PPC search engines, you would be getting more
sales than with any of those untargeted 50,000 or 100,000 visitor deals.
The only positive aspect I could possibly see in this, would be to improve
your visitor statistics at Alexa.com . A lot of potential JV-partners will
take a look at your traffic statistics, first, before they suggest a strategic
partnership with you.

And Alexa does not make any difference to where your visitors come
from ....

=====================Joke of the Day   (1)===============

A man walks into a restaurant with an ostrich. They sit down and the waitress
comes over and asks for their order. The man says, "I'll have a hamburger, fries
and a coke," and turns to the ostrich. "What's yours?" "I'll have the same,"
says the ostrich.
A short time later, the waitress returns with the order. "That will be $6.40
please," and the man reaches into his pocket and pulls out exact change for
payment. The next day, the man and the ostrich come again, and the man says,
"I'll have a hamburger, fries and a coke." The ostrich says, "I'll have the
same." Once again the man reaches into his pocket and pays with exact change.
This becomes a routine, until late one evening, the two enter again. "The
usual?" asks the waitress.
"No, this is Friday night, so I will have a steak, baked potato and salad," says
the man.
"Same for me," says the ostrich.
A short time later the waitress comes with the order and says, "That will be
$12.62."
Once again the man pulls exact change out of his pocket and places it on the
table. The waitress can't hold back her curiosity any longer. "Excuse me, sir.
How do you manage to always come up with the exact change out of your pocket
every time?" "Well," says the man, "several years ago, I was cleaning the attic
and I found an old lamp. When I rubbed it, a Genie appeared and offered me two
wishes. My first wish was that if I ever had to pay for anything, I would just
have to put my hand in my pocket, and the right amount of money would always be
there." "That's brilliant!" says the waitress. "Most people would wish for a
million dollars or something, but you'll always be as rich as you want for as
long as you live!" "That's right! Whether it's a gallon of milk or a Rolls
Royce, the exact money is always there," says the man. The waitress asks, "One
other thing, sir, what's with the ostrich?"
The man replies with a slight frown, "My second wish was for a chick with long
legs."
