=======More affiliates - more traffic - more top-of-site Ads!=======
From:Geoff Dodd

Hey Bogdan,

You've really built incentive into your system!
The more affiliates I can persuade to sign up,
the more credits I'll earn at 50 credits per
new joiner, plus commissions from purchases.

Then, the more 'top-of-site' ads I will get.
It's incredible incentive for anyone with a
primary business to promote.

Readers, let's go on a recruitment drive to
flood in new affiliates. This whole thing snow-
balls and delivers more 'eye-balls' of hungry
buyers to view your ads!

I suggest you start by wording a testimonial
about the strong benefits of the AdlandPro
service and then build it into a web page on
the theme of 'free Internet advertising' -
e.g.
http://www.home-business-residual-income.com/advertising-services/

You can also do word-of-mouth promotion and
highly recommend that people become affiliates
- in clubs, schools, interest groups, business
meetings, chambers of commerce, etc.

The Internet is growing much faster than offline
ways of doing business and so there will be an
incredible demand in the future for innovative
approaches to advertising.. especially 'on a
shoe-string budget.'

More people are finding now -as at Christmas -
that buying online is fast and convenient. The
statistics I've seen are all rocketing upwards..

Judie,

Sorry I did not reply sooner to your post, but for some reason I didn't
receive last weeks Adland #325, maybe the virus thing got in the way. But
you wrote this:

>I feel people who are against GMT there is a motive behind there
thinking,

>know or maybe it is competition!!

Sorry to disappoint you, but there is NO Motive behind what I think of
GMT. I am reacting to my GUT feeling about a program that is Pushing the
Money over the Product. About a program that has People all over the World
Spending Hundreds of Dollars because of the promise of Riches to come.

You say you are using the product and are happy with it. That's great, but
have you even looked into the cost of other Autoresponders? There are Tons
of them out there and most of them for Far less money. You can even get Ad
Free Autoresponders for Free if you look.

My problem with GMT is not with the people who know what an autoresponder
is and have a need for one or more. My Problem is with a company who
promotes it's self to people who have no need for or idea what an
Autoresponder is. They are only joining and spending the money to get More
Money weeks down the line for doing NOTHING but spending $199.

If you can't see the problem with this, then I wish you luck.

Bill,

You came down hard on Irwan there. While I can agree that Hit Exchanges or
Traffic Exchange programs can eat up a lot of bandwidth and are not very
cost effective time wise, but if they are used right, with the right kind
of site, a person can see results from them.

Some people have more time then money, and surfing around for a few hours
a week is something they can afford to do. It will take them a long time
to build a business that way, but progress can be made if they use them
all the time.

Some people would say that posting free ads on classifieds sites is a
waste of time, but others will tell you that it works. It's all a matter
of how you do it, and how often you do it.

For a person with little or no money to promote, a Traffic Exchange is an
option. But to many use sites that are not designed for quick loading, and
waste their time because of it. Sending people to sites with Tons of
Banners, Pictures or Flash is like throwing a thimble of water on a 4
alarm fire. Not much help....

But using a fast loading site with good copy, and someway of requesting
more information via an autoresponder, is not to bad a way to go. If Money
is preventing someone from paying for ads or Search Engine placement then
using Traffic Exchanges is better then nothing.

It all takes work, time and persistence no matter how you promote. Just
something's take more time then others. But with persistence they can pay
off.

Hello all readers,
In the message I got Bill reed said

To make matters even worse with many of the traffic exchange programs,
there are now programs out that surf as many as 5 or more of these
exchanges automatically at the same time and that means the person doing
the surfing is actually costing you credits yet never sees your site at
all.

I felt compelled to respond because at Clicks4u that doesn't happen. Each
site is viewed AND then rated before they can go to the next one. I know
that many of the exchanges are cheated regularly and costs many of us
bandwidth. This one works! Works well!

I am not trying to advertise but am inviting Bill to see for himself.

http://www.clicks4u.com/m88504

Not all exchange programs get cheated.

I am in agreement with Bill from your last issue regarding promoting
"Whatever" on the NET!
Getting targeted traffic consistently to your website is an ongoing task.

Yes, the tried and true ways of gaining traffic such as Search Engines,
are still the best ways of achieving those HUGE numbers of visitors we are
all looking for.

I have been etching out a living on the net since OCT 1999, and I can tell
you emphatically...NO ONE THING WILL DO IT! In other words, it takes a
daily routine of various forms of advertising to get your message out
there. Of course, it does no good to get those visitors if you don't have
a great product/service to offer.

The following forms of promotion are highly recommended:

* Search Engines...You must know how!

* Ezine Advertising...very affordable and highly effective!

* Classified Pages... Of course Adland is the very best!

* FFA Pages....Don't spend tons of time here!

* Safelists...Be careful, there are millions of them.

* Rely on an expert!

Good Luck Adlanders!
2003 is going to be the GREATEST!

It is such a great Opportunity, that you forgot to tell us what it is, or
put a link to it in your signature with this post. You blew it.

Writing an article or asking a question in a Newsletter like this, that
allows you to add a link, is one free and easy way to get a few people to
look at what you have going. But all you gave us was this for a signature:

>Best thing going on the net!

But getting back to what you wrote.

It sounds like you have fallen for a Mass Submission Service to All the
FFA, Classified sites and Search Engines on the Web kinda deal. You're new
so you can be forgiven, but submitting like that will only get you Massive
amounts of other peoples opportunities smashing into whatever E-mail you
give the service. If you are going to keep this up, get yourself a Junk
E-mail account just for all the garbage you will get. Then go into it
every couple of days and clean it out. Delete... delete... delete...

But I wouldn't waste my time with it if I were you.

Since you didn't give us the address to your "Best Thing Going" I can't
tell if submitting to Search Engines will do you any good, unless they are
pay for listing ones. Most member affiliate sites have little or no Meta
Tags for the Search Engines to read. And there are hundreds of sites just
like yours all trying to be the one on top.

Good luck trying.

Find a good Marketing Course and take it. I offer a free one on a mini
site off my main one. It's free to take and to use. And since I like to
have more people take the Course, I will promote it right here:

http://shop-money-time.com/tgif/

I have also added some pages with bits a pieces to motivate and help. You
might get something just by running around and reading them.

Jesse, I will tell you a secret that is really no secret if you have been
around a while.

The Best way to market is to build a mailing list, and market your program
to it.

And one way to build a mailing list is to offer something people you want
to reach need and give it to them. I do that with my Course. But others do
it with Free E-books and other give-a-ways and Freebies. It all depends on
who you want to reach with your program, product or service.

Good luck Jesse,

John Olson

From:Katheryn Labosky
Subject:Advertising problems

Hello Jesse,

You've encountered one of the hardest and most complicated
aspect of internet marketing, "advertising" correctly.
There's also no "cut and dried" answer that anyone can
probably give you, as advertising methods that work for
one business, will not work for another.  It all depends
on what your market is and what your products are.  I
would also take into consideration how long you have been
in business, as advertising has a "build-up" effect,
Jesse, and the more exposure you give yourself for longer
periods of time will reap results eventually.

When advertising, no matter what the medium, the best
formula to use is: "Quantity coupled with consistency".
In a nutshell, Jesse, you need to place large quantities
of ads in large quantities of places consistently and
routinely.

My company and I place about 250 ads per week in forums,
free ad sites, paid ad sites, mailings, and ezines.
This is done week in and week, out, according to a daily
schedule.  A "hit or miss" approach to advertising (and
I don't know what your approach is, I'm just mentioning
this), is the most common mistake made by others in
their advertising.  Keep advertising consistently and
in quantity, show enormous patience with the entire
process, and the results will come.

Wishing you luck!

Jesse,

Honest, hard working and sincere people get very disappointed early on in
the Internet Marketing arena for exactly the reasons you mentioned. It
seems that the effort is endless and the results are dubious. Here is a
cold hard fact for you. You will never be able to avoid the thousands of
misguided people who seize every opportunity to spam you with THEIR
offers, when you only want a response for your own. You just have to
accept it and learn to work around it. Here is another cold hard fact:
Unless you start building your own mailing list with people that you will
teach to trust you, sucess will continue to elude you. Internet Marketing
is about building relationships, just like real-life business is. Consider
placing yourself in a position where you can gain respect and trust...
publish an e-zine, start a safelist, give out a free course... Gather
opt-in addresses and gently introduce them to your offers. Avoid
everything YOU hate: spamming, answering ads with ads, worthless programs.
Open channels of sincere and mutually beneficial communication.

When I finally got it, I set about offering the type of advertising that

The important factors of advertising consists of many factors:

Where one is advertising
How often one is advertising
To how many is one advertising
What one is advertising - quality and prices being key
One's advert - what does it say about what one is advertising.

I have a free one page training web page about how to advertise

From:Cathy Wagner
Subject:Advertising problems

Hello Jesse,

I think you are right, a lot of people do have this problem. I have given it
quite a bit of thought and honestly, my conclusion is that most internet
marketers have difficulty writing effective advertising.

Think about it. Most of us never even considered writing ad copy until we
decided to do business online. And I mean all kinds of ads copy, right up to web
site copy. The major ad campaigns and sites you see everyday are written by
professionals who went to school and earn their living writing ad copy, that is
stiff competition for the little guy!

If you have tried many different advertising tools and none of them work for
you, you need to look at the root of the matter. Without effective ad copy,
people won't even see your offer.

So, what's the answer? An ad writing service? A how-to book? How about learning
how to write your own ads, truly, from a real person that you can talk to and
ask questions? This is my solution, I now offer personal ad writing workshops at
an hourly rate.

What ever you do, definitely experiment with even radical changes in your ad
copy style. Look at the ads that you see online everyday; if you see one that
sparks your interest, stop, pay attention to it, even write it down and consider
why this ad has appeal.

Also, use advertising tools and service that you know are working for others;
ask around in marketing chat rooms or subscribe to a marketing information site,
so that you know it is not your tools that are letting you down.

Don't fall for any hype. Learn and do as much as you can for free.

Have a Profitable Day,

Cathy Wagner

Hi Natasha and all readers,
Now Natasha just STOP RIGHT THERE.
If you have never had a credit card before and are only getting one to
facilitate online finance arrangements you need to take a good hard look at
your motivation.
I also sternly warn you to research the different styles of payments
online before you allow anyone access to your credit facility.
As a long-time bank employee, I have seen numerous disgruntled customers
complaining about unauthorised access to their credit from online (and
other) fraudsters.
My first recommendation is that you try to find a payment system that will
allow you to use a debit card or check account only and that this is
entirely separate from your normal banking arrangements.  Possibly even
with a different bank.
Secondly, IF you find you NEED to have a credit card then only permit the
MINIMUM credit limit.
Now a warning, DO NOT under any circumstances quote your card details in
any UNSECURED sites whilst online, preferably only to your online payments
system accounts management.

On a more positive note, I have been using Pay Pal myself for a couple of
years and never had a problem although I know of a few who have.  These
tend to be large accounts or accounts that have large volumes of trade.  I
also use e-gold but this tends to be difficult to get funds into and out
of.
The latest to blitz the market is STORMPAY, and they seem to be earning
quite a good reputation.

money is taken from my checking account, but it looks, and works like a
credit card, you will want check out how much interest you will have to
pay, don't fall for low rates to start then have to pay high rates later.

I had pay pal. and am going to reopen it, I had an account that I could
not get to quit charging my account, and I could not get Pay Pal to help
me, so I shut it down, everything is ok now, you will have to have a
checking account, this is where Pay Pal gets it's money, it takes a little
while to get the account set up but works good, like I said I am going to
reopen another account with them.

Subject:I never had any card in all my life

I have been using Pay Pal for several years now and have not had one
problem with them.  I know many people are going to other sources right
now, I even had to sign up for some of them even though I am a promoter of
Pay Pal and tell others to use Pay Pal.  However, I have read (and now I
don't know for sure if this is true) that due to Master Card's rules and
Pay Pal then having to change the rules, Pay Pal as of January (it's now
January as I write this) will no longer be accepting let's say of
multi-level marketing (MLM). That's the main reason I think people had to
sign up for Stormpay, which hopefully they are also good.  I just read
somewhere that Princegate is a scam, so stay away from them.  I don't know
about the other place you mentioned.
Hope this helps anyone.  You can use Pay Pal when buying e-books for
instance, I certainly have been.  You can use Pay Pal for UP TO TWO TIERS.
That is legal.  I have heard that chain letters are NOT LEGAL.  At least
that's what people have been telling me, and some of these places you have
to send $5 or $10 or whatever here and there, add your name to the list,
take the other name off, are illegal. So stay away from those places.

I hope this helps.  I have other ideas as well, but enough for this time.

Sincerely,

Natasha,
It doesn't matter whether you get a Visa or a MasterCard. I have both.
They are basically alike.  Watch the interest rates, however, and look for
the best deal based on that.

Often the introductory interest rates are for about 3 to 6 months, and
then the interest skyrockets, so read the fine print.  Just be sure to
make your payments on time.  You will pay for being late with high
interest rates.  As an example, I have a Visa with a special intro rate of
1.9%, with my normal rate of 10.5%, but if I am late, that interest rate
will jump to 27.9%.

Read the fine print very carefully and see what you are getting.

Regarding pay systems, I have used PayPal, and although it was very
frustrating to me initially, it does work.  You also receive $5 in your
bank account when it is confirmed.

I wouldn't join MLM's or income opportunities using PayPal because PayPal
has an "I AM GOD" attitude and will cut a company off at the drop of a hat
and hold on to the moneys for 6 months. Most start-up companies can not
survive without the income that has been held back by PayPal, and they
fold.

One good thing about PayPal, though, is that you can access your account
and view your activity. You can stop auto payments easily.

Good luck, Natasha!

I realize there has at times people saying they have had problems with
PayPal. I have used them for 3 years now without one problem.

Most of the complaints came from people who said they had money frozen in
their accounts one time when PayPal had some problems...I never had any
such problem.

I do have a suggestion to anyone especially a business that uses any of
these online companies...DO NOT leave large amounts of money setting in
the account. keep it emptied out into your personal account. I am not sure
with all but any of the ones I have used will automatically deduct from
your personal account if you need to use your account to pay for
something. There is no need to leave large amounts of money setting there.

PayPal is still the most widely used payment processor for people without
merchant accounts. I mean after all who has not heard of  "PAYPAL"?

This is just my opinion. I am sure there are lots of others but PayPal
helped me start my business when I could not afford a merchant account and
I really like using them.

Have a great day,

Subject:I never had any card in all my life

Hi Natasha,

I had an experience similar to yours.  Although old enough to have gotten
a credit card years ago, I never needed one, I had always paid cash.  When
I learned my way around the net, one became a necessity.

I had to end up getting a, I think they're called, 'secured card'.  This
is because I learned having no credit was worse than having bad credit.
It finally just seemed the quicker way.  I don't think Visa or MasterCard
(or any other)much matter.  Someone may correct me here.  What the APR is
does matter.  Mine was so high I wouldn't dare carry the debt; I'd pay it
off monthly.

I use PayPal and it's great for transferring money in some ways, email to
email.  After getting a website I read a number of negative items about
PayPal's use to sell your products.  And it is easy for someone to get to
your Thankyou page.  I reluctantly removed PayPal from my site, reluctant
because there are probably many people like I was, and don't have a credit
card so can't purchase an item.

I now use Clickbank, and they're great.  This is for digital products.  I
don't know about tangible items.

I don't mean to slight PayPal.  I still use them inorder to save a Western
Union charge(or some such) when transferring money abroad (from US).  And
they're good in most countries.  Maybe by now they've "fixed" their little
problem?

The best online payment service I use is http://PayPal.com once you're
registered and have your account all set up you can apply for your very
own PayPal cc which works like a cc at the store or for cash withdrawals
at your local bank machine, but the funds are all pulled from the money in
your PP account. It works great and is very cool.

The other online payment service I use is Clickbank.com but their fees are
a bit higher and they don't offer  a cc, but for taking online cc payments
it works wonderful and even allows you to set up your very own affiliate
program when ready.

Good luck to you!

From:Geoff Dodd
Subject:Pay-per-click Can Work

Hi Bogdan,

Andy expressed some doubts about the economics
of pay-per-click and I'd like to share a little
of just 'what works.'
I currently get an average $0.17 cents from each
'unique hit' or visitor to my affiliate sites for
supply of small software programs that sell for $29
- i.e., I'm the affiliate and get $11.60 per sale.

How? You must keep your click-thru cost down to the
very minimum -say 5 cents to 7 cents.
By far, the best system going is Google:-

https://adwords.google.com/select/

This system works for me; BUT you need
to think: highly 1) targeted, 2) qualified buyers..

The trick with Google is to find some phrases that people will search on -
but that MOST marketers don't know about.. yet -
and then screw Google right down to $0.05
- the minimum - and pack these rare phrases into your little ad boxes.
If it's for a defined product, even show the price in
your ad to qualify them.. (Test with/without the price)

Google gets 150 million daily searches. So every
keyword is getting a lot of exercise!

Trick #2. You need a product that meets a common
daily need or PAIN.
You need to provide a solution that is simple to use
and one that may be dramatized or associated with
danger, excitement, curiosity, novelty.. intensity.

Your prospects must land on a web page that reflects
the EXACT words of their search. They must feel they
have hit the goal -have arrived on target.

I hope this helps.

Subject:I need help marketing here!

Hello Digest members.  Lately, over the past year and a half, I have tried
and failed just about every MLM out there.  I came to the conclusion that
I was not good at marketing, and I needed help.  I could not find the help
I needed so I started making my own sites.  It started with my safelist,
then I made a traffic sales site, and a hosting site.

My safelist is doing ok, and I have generated a view sales with my
guaranteed traffic site, but no hosting customers.  Ok, so before all of
you say it, I know there are thousands of safelists, hosting sites, and
guaranteed visitor sales sites, but my prices are very competitive in
guaranteed traffic sales at least.  The prices of my others services are
not bad either.  However, I am simply posting to safelists and submitting
to engines and struggling to get any good traffic to my sites.  I have
several questions...

First of all, my safelist is somewhat growing on it's own, but other than
Safelist Boys, any free places I can submit this thing to get faster
results?  Here is my safelist: http://www.sdacentral.com

Second, my Guaranteed Website Visitors site makes sporadic sales, but I
know people with similar prices that make sales everyday.  Any tips on
getting targeted traffic to this site?  http://www.sdahits.com

Finally, my hosting page is doing nothing.  I have made but a few sales
and I have a friend who has been at this for quite sometime making very
good money selling hosting, and I have almost the exact same prices he
has.  I know over time your traffic and popularity will grow, but there
must be some way to drive customers to this site as well.  Here is my
hosting site: http://www.sdawebhosting.com

I have created good meta tags, keywords, etc. for all of my sites.  I feel
that over time they will probably do well in the SE's, but I am wondering
what I could be doing at this time to help my situation.  I have somewhat
gone into business for myself here, and I need to create more residual
income.

Thank you all for you time and consideration

Okay, over the last couple of weeks I have been reading what others have
been writing about their problems and solutions on the net.  I decided to
give it a try myself.  I am a school teacher in a small town in rural
Missouri.  I love what I do, but I have always wanted to own my own
business.  I found the opportunity in putting together my own website
(really it is the collaboration of my wife and two kids' help).  It is a
Mega-mall.  What makes it different was that I wanted people to feel
comfortable while they shopped.  The one way that I know people can become
comfortable is through discovering and learning about Christ.  So, there
is ample opportunities and links on our site for people to discover more
about their relationship with Him as well as shopping.  We have over 150
stores on the site (www.larkoverstreet.net).  I basically want to know how
can I bring people to our site.

Thanks for your time,

God Bless,

From:Andy Sparks
Subject:I discovered a low key marketing technique that works

I have a have a link exchange page at http://www.967andy.com/link.html and
I have been wondering how to make a little cash from the process of
exchanging links.

Incoming links do wonderful things for your site and search engine
rankings, but you normally don't make any money exchanging links.  I have,
partially by accident, discovered a way to generate some cash from my link
page.

I was thinking about my link page and wondering what would a person that
wants to exchange links buy?  If they have exchanged links with you, you
have some credibility and if you give them an opportunity to buy
something, you have a better chance of making a sale.

Adland Pro Affiliates have the opportunity to sell submission service to
Internet Directories.  I added a paragraph on my link page talking about
how Yahoo is the King of Internet Directories but most people overlook,
the hundreds of thousands of lesser directories and gave them a link to my
Adland Pro directory submission form.
http://www.snappyads.com/submit-your-site.html

Any Adland Pro affiliate can log in and get the code for this form.

In the process of exchanging links, there comes a point where I email the
other party and confirm their link is live and I have developed the habit
of telling them where to find their link on my link page.  In the past I
placed their link above some bold text with a horizontal rule to make it
easier to find their link on my page.

Now I place their link directly above a Submit You Site link that is in
extra large font and contains the above mentioned paragraph about Internet
Directories.  When I confirm their link, I tell them their link is live
just above Submit Your Site in large letters.

If you are interested in building your site's traffic, you are almost
certain to read that paragraph about Internet Directories and because we
have just completed a link exchange and I have a little credibility, you
are much more likely to use the directory submission service.

I want to make an important point, at no time on my link page or in the
email do I attempt to sell anything.  The key to this strategy is just
provide a informational paragraph with a link and let nature take its
course.

If we exchange links and you send me an email trying to sell me something,
I am not going to buy and your credibility is out the window.

The email that I send simply tells them where to find their link and if
they read the next paragraph and it sounds like a good idea, okay and if
it doesn't sound like a good idea, that is okay.  We have accomplished our
primary goal of exchanging links with is mutually beneficial.

This technique is a simple little way to add some cash flow to something
you should already be doing.

PS. It works, I went from almost never selling a directory submission to
selling them on a regular basis.  It is a win-win because the directory
submission service is a good value for the buyer.

I am disabled and was spending all my time on the internet anyway, so I
decided to start an online business. After reading a zillion emails
offering to make me rich while I slept at the beach, I learned enough from
the "teasers" that I thought anyone could start an online business with
hard work and persistence, instead of tons of money.  I started my ezine,
intended to "save the internet world from all the scams :o), in June with
one subscriber. I taught myself FrontPage and got my website online in
late October. I had a lot of help from a lot of wonderful people. However,
from the moment my site hit the www, I've been tweaking it until I'm so
sick of it, I want to start all over with a completely new design. I would
love some honest feedback from people who don't know me personally and are
looking at how far I've come, but from a totally unbiased point of view.
Anyone who has time and the patience to look through what I'm sure is a
very amateurish attempt would be a great deal of help to me, and any and
all efforts would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.
