=================Advertising Problems=====================
From:Holly Klaus

Wow, I appreciated getting on the subject of advertising. I saw some great
comments. That was right up my alley for years. Actually for 30 years I
had an Ad Agency. (Print Media) and did quite well. I loved the business.
So, let me tell you my dilemma...the good the bad and the ugly so to
speak. Time moves on, I move into a more relaxed career, move out to the
"boonies" and eventually find myself on the net.

I think, hey, I can do this, what every good Internet Marketing Business
needs is Advertising...like every other business!! No problem! HA!

Get on the net, and you DROWN in ad opportunities. Freebies, almost
freebies, good deals and whoppin' big prices! At first you think
well...everyone's on, everyone's reading what comes into his or her
mailbox, why not use free mail! HA! What a joke. I am not putting it down
altogether, but when you are a "newbie" in the system, you end up with
billions of emails, you're classified genuine "do do" because you didn't
realize that when you sent out your free add to the 100,000 people you
thought were going to read it...(can't get that in print advertising...I
went WILD!) ...then I realize I am getting their 100,000 emails also!
YUCK, now I can't even find a letter from my family.

So I wise up, start reading and find out that the instructions are, you
get an email box where all these thousands can go to so you can delete
them! WHAT? Well if I am deleting them...guess what! (You don't have to be
too smart to figure out how good that advertising works!) That would be
like me putting advertising in a magazine that is delivered directly to
your trashcan!

I liked the point that one person posted though. If you have lots of time
and no or little money, yes, some of the free advertising could pull for
you. It just may take a long, very long time to build a biz...but hey, if
that's all you can do...stick with it and go for it.

Okay, so how about a helpful hint from an old Advertising Whiz that is
finally adjusting to the New Internet Sea of Advertising. I finally quit
drowning and find me a life jacket!

Here's some old tips that work with Internet...followed by a new tip that
I hope you all appreciate.

First, you get what you pay for.
Yes, if it's free, well, don't expect much. You may reach some poor Joe
that hasn't found out about sending those emails to the trash yet and
actually reads your mail. Or perhaps they just love getting mail!

Second, there is no doubt that what your subject line says has a real
effect on whether that mail gets opened. And personally if someone sends
me mail that has a lying or deceitful subject line, I don't care what they
are offering, in my old business that would not even hit the page, and I
wouldn't read it now. Things like "Your Account Update" grrrrrr or
"Subscription Receipt" Grooowwl! That is a waste of my time. Not to
mention a lie, or an outrageous twist of the truth if they manage to work
it in somehow!

I learned in the "OLD" ad biz, that you pick what your public wants. Say
it. What does your biz have that is special that the Internet Market
wants? Just say it. If they are looking for something they will see it and
check it out. Think about it, when you are going thru the newspaper and in
the back of your mind you want to buy a new car, isn't the ad that says
"All Our 2002 Car Prices Slashed!" going to get your attention.

What if it said "All Our 2002 Cars Free" just to find out they meant you
get it washed free after you buy it. GRRRRR deceitful.

Why can't a good solid Internet Business use lines like:
"Get A Proven List of Ad Sources"
Then in the body copy, Yes, a list of advertisers, already tested and
proven by us to pull. Stop drowning in the Sea of Advertising, and get the
help you need so you're not throwing time and money away"

To the point and honest. Besides that I know a company that actually
offers that and it is an excellent source for any business especially a
marketing business you may want to advertise. Here's the URL:
www.easyopportunities.biz

Of course there is a fee along with other tools you can use for writing
good ad copy and so on but it is small... nothing like I charged when I
helped people find the right ad sources!!

Okay, back to the advertising. Yes you get what you pay for, and honesty
in advertising even on the net, no ESPECIALLY on the net will pay off. Why
do I say especially? They cannot talk to you. It's a very aloof form of
business. So give people the courtesy of honesty. After all if they cannot
believe your ad, how can they possibly believe that anything you say about
your biz is correct also?

Another point. When I started getting the hang of things, (which by the
way I now make my living online) I realized what I knew to some extent
could be useful, but to some extent I had to chuck it all!!

In print media it is a fact...nobody likes to read anymore. So you have to
get to the point.

On the Internet, nobody really likes to read but they have learned they
have to, otherwise they will never know what anything is all about, its
the only way to find out. (Unless you are fortunate to have the few upline
in your biz that will actually get on the phone with you and give you some
step by step help...I do that, and it pays off too by the way!)

So how do you utilize this? Your first shot, keep it short and sweet. Get
to the point, what does your business have that they want. Offer them
something free if they are willing to just learn more about your biz.

Second shot, give them something else. Another tidbit. Try to be personal.
Hey, when you go to the car lot, whom do you want to talk to, the one that
acts like your neighbour or the one that all they seem to want is your
money?

I loved a line I read in another great program that can help you build a
mailing list...very, very important in this biz, it was "Ask them to dance
before you ask them to marry you!" Get the point? People need some
familiarity if they are going to feel comfortable sending money to you.
(This comes from a free email training course on how to build that very,
very important prospect list, if you want to enrol for free here's where
to find it: http://easyopportunity.com

Be a good Internet Neighbour! Let them know you will sincerely help them
any way you can. Don't just sound like all you want is the most sign ups
possible with the least amount of effort....yuck...I don't want to be
treated that way, and you will not keep downline if you treat them that
way, just like going to a grocery store. If they all have the same things
to offer, and the prices are pretty much the same...which one are you
going to go to, the one that treats you like a person!!! Some of us will
pay MORE to be treated like a person!

So to all you Adlander's out there, (and obviously I like Adland Pro!! Use
some sense when you advertise, and remember...you get what you pay for
..or better yet I should say...you DON'T get what you DON'T pay for! Have
a nice one.

Hi Jonathan,

It would seem to me that you are limiting
yourself by only selling to trade or
wholesalers. Most of the internet shoppers
consist of retail buyers and end-users.

To promote your site to the wholesalers
it seems that you need to advertise only
to them in trade publications and direct
mail.

I don't think the wholesalers or trades
who already sell your products are searching
the internet for new sources.

Most likely they have their sources who
have sent them direct mail catalogs, brochures
and contacted them by phone. That is how
we do business with our wholesalers. We didn't
search the internet for them.

We sell wholesale and many of our customers
are trade, but the bulk is to the
general public who are very pleased to
purchase wholesale for themeselves.

From:Cathy Wagner
Subject:No Traffic

Hello Jonathan,

Try reaching wholesale and retail buyers through forums and newsletters. You
might be surprised at the number of forums and newsletters on the internet and
they cover just about every topic of interest known to man.

Go to a major search engine and search for Retailer Forum or Wholesaler
Newsletter and see what happens. If your results are sparse, try another engine.
I am pretty sure http://groups.google.com/ has wholesaler and retailer groups.

Once you find a group, introduce yourself, participate in the discussions,
develop relationships, build trust and credibility. If you can answer someone's
questions or problem with your product, go for it! Otherwise, just include your
link with your signature and don't blatantly advertise your product.

The results you see from this type of strategy may not be instant, but over time
you can develop solid business relationships that might last for years.

With targeted newsletters, you could purchase ad space or even write an article
that would build your credibility, provide a link to your site in your resource
box and perhaps even explain why dealing with you would be better than dealing
with others.

Have a Profitable Day,

Cathy Wagner

===========C o n t i n u i n g D i s c u s s i o n (1.5)=============
From:Steve Pronger
Subject:No Traffic

Jonathan,

The reason you are not getting any traffic is related to your web site. In
its present form it will not matter how times you submit it to the engines
it will not draw traffic. Changes are needed. Here are my suggestions:

1. Your home page attempts to start a download of a file called "stars". I
haven't delved too deeply into the code so I'm not sure if this is
intentional or not. If it is, I'd get rid of it. This would scare a lot of
people off. No one wants to download a file when they have no idea what
it's for.

2. Research your keywords. Although you haven't targeted any keywords the
first step is to decide which keywords to target. Wordtracker is an
excellent tool for researching keywords. Go to:

http://our.affiliatetracking.net/wordtracker/af.cgi?2209

Download the free trial version. Use Wordtracker to determine the "demand"
that exists for your keywords i.e. how many times your keywords are
searched for. After you have researched your keywords do a search at
Google. This will give you an idea of the "supply" that exists for your
keywords. For example, "oven elements" has 132,000 page matches. Try to
find keywords that have a relatively high demand and low supply.

3. Got your keywords? Great. The next step is to optimize you site. Start
with the page title. Search engines place high importance on the page
title. No one will search for "R.R. Sales". Put you most important
keywords here - first and foremost. For example - "Oven Elements |
Wholesale Plumbing and Electrical Supplies | Columbia Tennesee".
"Wholesale Plumbing Supplies" was searched for 276 times at Overture last
month but has only 95,000 page matches at Google.

3. Add your targeted keywords to headings, alt tags (pictures), links and
throughout your text.

4. There are no meta tags in your code. Add a meta "description" tag (a
summary of your site) and include your targeted keywords. Although nowhere
near as important, because many engines now ignore them, add a meta
"keywords" tag and list your targeted keywords.

5. Now that you've optimized for the the search engines, give your
visitors reason to do business with you. No one cares who founded your
business or how long you've been in business. They only want to know
what's in it for them. Stress the BENEFITS of doing business with you.

6. Your image files are WAY too big. The first image on the Oven Elements
page is about 5MB. I didn't wait for all the other image files to download
and no one else will either. Reduce their size in an image processing
program.

Hope that helps Jonathan. Good luck.

From:John Olson
Subject:No Traffic

Jonathan,

I understand your problem. And it is your Website. You are using the
Trellix Builder through your Hosting Company, it is a Great Builder, I use
it myself. But you have some problems.

First off, you have Music on the Home page. This slows down the Load time
and that is not good. I don't think the Music is that important to your
customers. So, get rid of it. It's kinda fun and patriotic and all, but it
is not needed.

Next, the template you are using for the Home page is a nice one. I use it
myself on my 9-11 mini site. But I don't think the Blue color for the main
text area works. The default color is white, use it. The text will stand
out better and so will everything else.

By the way, the Home page and it's Music is still loading as I write this.
Not a good thing.

The next thing you need to do is decide on ONE Template for Every page.
Stop switching around. I know there are a lot of them, but Pick ONE and
stick to it. That will make the pages load faster because the template
will already be in the visitors memory. And it makes the site look more
professional.

Pick a template that best shows off your business and isn't to distracting
and use it through out the site for every page.

And because it is a business to business site, I would keep the main text
area background color White. Then you can use dark blue or black for your
text and it will show up better. Keep it simple and easy to read and
follow.

I use a black background on my main site because I like it and I want it
to stand out in peoples minds. It's a creative thing with me. But I use it
through out the main site, on every page. The mini sites off the main one
have different templates for the same creative reasons. But again, the
same template for every page.  But you are or should be all business with
your site. If you like a back background, use it, but use it on all the
pages and make sure the text colors
stand out against it. Use White or a Very Pale color.

The Trellix Builder can give you a very nice looking site, if you use it
correctly and don't try and get to flashy. Keep it simple.

Take care and good luck with the site and the business.

John Olson

Jonathan, You have a great brick and mortar business and want to expand
online? You need to work with your existing clients, move them to an
online ordering cycle and your offline/online referrals will follow. I
quick tour of your website shows that you are not currently prepared to
take online orders, so you're putting the cart before the horse. (When I
visited Jan 17 your merchant catalogue was non-operational.)

Once you are taking real-time online orders, I am sure that your existing
customers will move to ordering online and your business can start to grow
that way.

The best referral for any business is from existing customers. The same
goes for online. Don't be fooled about a lot of the hype. Grow local
before you sell global!

Happy Selling!

Subject:I never had any card in all my life

I am happy to see that I am not the only one having problems doing
business on the Internet because I do not have a Credit Card.

Also I do not know if you are aware; if you are an International Customer
with PayPal, you have to have both a CREDIT CARD and a BANK ACCOUNT (in my
case an AUSTRALIAN one) to both receive payments from merchants etc into
your PayPal Account and to Pay for Goods and Services with PayPal. I have
lost commissions because of PayPal's policy of having International
Customers manually validate payments received from Merchants and obviously
I can not join most Internet Opportunities because of the insistance of
program owners to only do transactions through PayPal a good example being
EzineBlaze.

I now investigate opportunities very carefully and if there are
opportunities that come up only with PayPal as the only medium for
payment, I steer well clear as I have been bitten too many times. Recently
too I have had problems getting a lost password out of NetPay and I am now
forced to open a new account. This time I will make sure that I keep all
my paper work and print everything as I go along.

Many thanks for your newsletter. It has been very helpful. I am looking

Subject:Never ever pay again for website promotion

Hi John;

Regarding your contribution to the conversation titled
"Never ever pay again for website promotion"

I am not going to say that you are wrong, because what you said was
truthful. Some people might get a little something from hit exchanges and
etc, but if you admit hit exchanges and traffic exchanges are not very
effective for the average person, why would you recommend their use?

If a person has time but no money, wouldn't it be to their advantage to
use their time wisely?  If it is going to take a lot of time to see any
results, I would advise they use their time on strategies for the long
term.  If they aren't going to make a quick buck, why not build for the
long term.

The problem with programs like these is, when you stop spending time, you
stop getting results.  If you build quality, key word optimised web pages
that relate to the theme of your web site, the results continue long after
the page is built.  The more pages that deliver quality information on
your site, the higher the search engines rank your site.

If they spend all their time on less productive activities, they never
will have any money.

If there is a way to make a fast buck on the Internet, without scamming
your customers, I haven't found it and I have been looking for years.  I
have come to the conclusion the best way to succeed online is to pick a
topic that you enjoy and just start delivering the best information that
you can possibly deliver.

The search engines will love your site and your customers will trust your
judgement and buy your products or the products you recommend through
affiliate marketing.

cleaners. because i don't have much money to
advertise."

With limited advertising money it can be difficult
to get quality results. One way to find discount
advertising is through auction sites. There are
several auction websites which provide advertising
related auctions. One of my favorites is Webmasterbids:

http://www.webmasterbids.com/default.php?refit=512

Webmasters with excess advertising to sell can use
webmasterbids to auction this advertising off. You
can bid on this advertising, often getting it at a
good price.

Another great place is EzineAdAuction:

http://www.ezineadauction.com

As the name states this auction site helps e-zine
publishers sell their extra ezine ad space at auction.
You can usually find some very good deals on ezine advertising here.

There are others out there, but these are 2 of my favorites. Hope this
helps you stretch your advertising dollars as far as you can.

Hello Kevin,

You need to get advice from someone who has been there and done it, if you do
not want to have to go through the whole process of trial and error. But, that
sounds expensive!

My motto, from the beginning of my online marketing career, has always been, "If
I don't spend any money, I am not risking anything." I started off with
absolutely no budget at all! So, I know exactly how you feel: you want a
marketing site that will give you the whole picture about internet marketing,
for free. You also want recommendations for things like how to place ads and
where to place them from someone who can tell you positively that those sites or
methods really work, again for free.

The good news is, I made that site for internet marketers like you and me, who
want to improve their lives by investing more of themselves than money. Not only
do you get lots of free information, but I am also readily and personally
available for advice and answers to your questions through live chats, email
questions and several instant messengers. All of this is free.

Once you see the quality of the information I provide, you will be glad (and
able to!) spend less than $5 per month for complete access to over 50 of the
best free and low cost recommendations, tips and tools, as well as special Paid
Member bonuses.

Don't fall for any hype. Learn and do as much as you can for free.

I have to agree with John on the GMT issue in Adland Digest #327.

I have a couple of friends who have really pushed for me to sign up.  I
suppose if I needed an autoresponder it might be one thing but I don't.
Furthermore, I don't have the time to set up another autoresponder so that
I can qualify my free membership by using 100 times per month.

I believe many are caught up in the earnings potential and I sincerely
hope it works the way they think it will.

What I don't understand is why you would want to purchase 3

are you going to do with an extra 2 - $200 autoresponders?

I think I have the solution for your credit card challenge. It is a Debit
Card, but one which doesn't require a bank account or credit check. It's
ideal for people of all ages and walks of life - schoolkids to
pensioners - and at the same time (for the over 18's) it's a great
business opportunity.
It's also ideal for those who may have been refused a credit card maybe
due to their resident status or zero credit rating.
I'm not allowed to give more information than that as I would then be
infringing on the Digest rules about about advertising, so if this is of
interest to you (or anyone else) please email me
(info@premium-chance.com)and I'll send you more detailed info.

Some companies allow you to pay Cash On Delivery or by Bank Transfer - but
there are usually high extra costs involved, especially with international
companies. In fact, if the company is outside of your own country, you
would be lucky to find one which accepts payment other than by
credit/debit card.

Hope this helps you and hope to hear from you,

Shannon,

You're wondering why you don't get many sales with your web hosting page.
I see several reasons:

1) The website design needs a bit of zing - it's all navy blue and black
on my screen (IE 6) - a bit boring. If you don't have any graphics, you
might want to use a pale-colored background - nothing intrusive, just a
bit of interest.

2) Why should I buy web hosting from you? Are you operating out of your
bedroom or do you have a fully protected server? You tell us nothing.

3) Who are you? Where are you? Who are your customers? Won't anyone give
you a reference? If I'm going to invest in a webhost, it will be for a
business - and that's important to me. I want guarantees - and warm fuzzy
feelings - that you'll be around tomorrow - that my website will be
running - that your servers will be up and running. Tell me about your
physical setup, tell me about your business, tell me about your
connections to the internet, tell me about your backup servers and backup
connections.

4) You offer technical support - what are your qualifications/experience?

I don't mean to sound totally negative - you have a good beginning - but
your site needs more work.

GOOD LUCK!

I definitely am picking up a theme from your letter: I think what you need is
patience. To go through every MLM in a year and a half (!) says to me that you
probably did not give any of them the chance to really work for you. Now that
you have some good things happening, you still seem to be in quite a hurry. You
must give these things time to grow.

I looked at you Guaranteed Website Visitors page and I do see some things that I
would change. For instance you display the prices and then give a link to show
people your prices. Also, I think you need to rework your text a little. Cut out
repetitive uses of the same word or substitute synonyms. Read your copy out loud
to make sure it flows properly.

One more thing: this "We can have a steady flow of fresh prospects landing on
your site with our legitimate way of tracking what people need on the Web" does
not seem to be explained anywhere. How can you track what people need with
pop-up hits?

Lysander,

For starters, you gave your url as www.larkoverstreet.net in your post and

Make sure you add http://  to the front of your url whenever you mention
it. this makes it Hot and Clickable, for example:
http://www.larkoverstreet.net

This gets so automatic, you will be typing it every where! I now can't
write the word 'money' without puting a 4 at the end as I am always
writing money4moms.com, my domain name, user name, birth name, alter ego!

This is simple and lots of newbies miss this one, but most people won't
copy and paste your url. You have to make it easy for them so make it
clickable.

Hello Lysander,

You are trying to appeal to a highly targeted group of people (Christians) and
the internet can help by putting you directly in touch with specific groups of
people via forums, newsletters and even chat rooms.

I would suggest you search for "Christian forums," newsletters and chatrooms.
You will certainly generate large lists. Choose a few and look them over, get a
feel for them, see how you can answer someone's need with your product. Talk to
people and build relationships.

Also, because Christians make up such a large portion of the population, be sure
to include this aspect in all of you ad copy whether they are links, classifieds
or email ads.

Another excellent strategy would be to trade links with other Christian web
sites. Let your Christian brothers send their religious visitors to your site :)

From:John Olson
Subject:How do I direct more traffic to my site?

Lysander,

You have been working on this site. When I first visited it on the 13th,
it was WAY to Wide. And I was going to tell you to work on getting it cut
down so people would not have to scroll left and right. But it's the 15th
now and you have already made the changes. Good for you. The Lord is
watching over you.

Let's go through the site a page at a time.

The "Home" page is just fine now. Though I would move the text on the
lower right up under the text at the top of the page. You have to much
white space there now.

The "Let's Walk" page has too many banners on it. It's great that you have
all the text links, but you still have a lot of banners to load. In fact
it is still loading as I right. I would cut down on the banners, in fact I
would cut all most all of them out. Or create new pages for them with
categories that they could fit in. Such as, Travel, Toys, Electronics,
Home Stuff, The Outdoors and so on. That way you can still use some
banners but the pages should load quicker and if you do this, your
visitors will be able to find what they are looking for faster.

The "Prayer Walk" page also has to many banners at the bottom, though not
as many as the other page. You might want to create more pages with
prayers on them and a few less banners. This gives the visitor more to
read and think about.

The "Shop and Walk" and the "Last Walk" pages have the same problems as
the "Let's Walk" page though not as bad.

You also have links to other sites on the bottom of most of your pages.
You would be better off creating a Related Links page and placing them all
on it.

All in all you need to organize the site better. The page titles should
suggest what is on the page. That will give the visitor an easier time
finding things they might be looking for.

You might place relevant passages or prayers on each page according to
what is on the page.

Now, you asked about getting traffic to your site and you might be
wondering why I am doing what amounts to a Site Review instead of telling
you how to get traffic. The plain answer is, that I want the people who do
come to the site, to want to come back to it. I want them to remember the
site and the ease with which they could find what they wanted and of
course the messages and prayers they found as well.

I am sure others will suggest ways to get traffic, I want that traffic to
remember and come back.

God Bless You and Your site. I hope it brings inspiration and help to all
those who visit.

Regardless of your motivation, creating a website with hundreds of
affiliate programs and expecting sales JUST WON'T WORK!

You stated that you want people to be comfortable shopping at your site, a
site with a Christian theme, and yet there is not much more than a host of
banner ads.

Lysander, pick a product and grow your site around it. You have a couple
of nice prayers (remove the italics so that someone can actually read
them, please!), maybe using graphics and links to books at Amazon.com
about prayers would be the way to go.
Remove the "self-updating" Amazon Suggests box from your site. Some of the
suggestions are definitely NOT Christian!

As it stands, your site is a duplicate of millions of other sites.
Lysander, pick a theme and go with it. Don't try to corner the market on
Internet affiliate programs, it's been done to death!
Once you have content, the traffic, and possibly the sales, will follow!

Happy Selling!

Hi, Cheryl

Not a bad site - but, you're right - it could be better.

First off - an admission - I didn't read through the entire site - just a
few clicks.

Went to Computer Corner - it would read much better if the computer specs
would be in bullet form. At first glance, the prices seemed a bit high -
have you compared specs/prices with Dell? Much as I hate to admit it (I
used to be a computer reseller), Dell has become THE company - and in
order to compete, you have to be VERY special - rock-solid guarantees,
superb customer service, excellent pricing -- and something special. (I've
recently joined Juvio - we offer 24/7 tech support over the phone - you
might want to think of offering a computer bundle that combines support -
check it out at: maxcan.juvioservice.com - or, if you want to add an
additional income stream for yourself, at maxcan.juvio.com and
juvioflash.shorturl.com). Also, on the home page, 'computer corner' isn't
capitalized in the list of services.

The next section I looked at was 'Ezine Expertise'. LOTS of great
information - but very hard to find. The page needs a fresh design - with
a group of buttons going to the various links - the ezine itself, your
services, other people's services. (I don't remember which link it was,
but there was one click that brought me to six pop-ups - without finding
what I was looking for - and then it didn't go back to your site).

On your home page, you have a nice list - on Ezine ..., you'll find ...;
on Computer Corner, you'll ... - great idea - but it would be more
effective if each section title was done in a contrasting color from the
surrounding text.

Business Resources has more great stuff - and if each offer was enclosed
in a border or box, or accessed through a button, it would be much easier
for the visitor to see what you have at a glance. As much as we're all
proud of our creations and our great writing, readers have a very short
attention span - let's make it easier for them.

Good luck!

Hi Cheryl,

Did visit and have a few things I've noticed.  Your page took forever to
load and this could be a problem.  I can safely say I sat here for a good
five minutes waiting for the images to download.  I'm not a big believer
in "instant downloads", as some people are, but yours I found was much too
slow for the average visitor to wait patiently for.

In addition, you don't seem to have much of a sales letter.  You have a
list of benefits and services, but a good sales letter, immediately at the
top of a site, is imperative, as most readers "click off" after only 15
seconds if you don't hold their interest.  You need to spell out in no
uncertain terms, why your products, compared to others out there, would be
the best choice.  Giving a simple list does nothing, as no comparison can
be made this way.  You also need to fix the errors within the copy as once
someone does start reading, you did have typos and missing words littered
throughout.

I honestly wish you luck and said this all with the best of intentions.

Dear Sharon,

Popped over to your site, and although you're really offering something
that is needed by MLM'ers today, and would probably have a wide market, I
did find that the copy lacked the punch it needed to keep readers reading,
especially in the first half of the homepage, which is the most critical.
Its important never to start a sales letter with a question.  It mitigates
the strength of the letter and sets a "too mild" tone for the rest of the
letter.  You have some great sentences farther down on your site, and
these would make a better opening headline than what you have there.
Also, read it over carefully as there were grammatical mistakes and typos
here and there, and a good first impression is always imperative.

Sharon,

Great little site with lots of information on it. I can't really find
anything wrong with it.

The only think I can think to say is to ask why the "Site Links" on the
left side of the page all use a 'tinyurl.com" address? Why not just use
the normal site link with thatmemsite.com/whatever ? It just seems strange
to me to be using that redirect URL with in the site its self.

That and I tried the link to your "Free Links Page" and when the new
window opened, the page could not be found. I could see that it was on a
separate server and I wonder if that is such a good idea. The Search
Engines don't like that kind of thing so it can do more harm then good.

Also the link to your "Message Board" did not load either. Thought I would
let you know.

All in all a very nice site.

But I do have one question. You charge for a listing on your "MLM
Directory" page, but you don't even hint at how many visitors your site
gets a month. That would tend to make me not want to bother paying for a
listing with you. I think you need to give your customers some idea of the
number of visits per month so they can know if it is worth the cost of a
listing.

Take care and good luck with the site.

makes it hard to read your copy.

Next, Every page should have the same type of navigation links, so if you
put them in a table on the Home page, you should use the same table on
every other page, plus add a second set of navigation links on the bottom
of every page. And list all the main pages of the site on every page and
in both sets of navigation links.

You are also going to need to get some Meta Tags on the site so Search
Engines have something to read to help you get listed. Not all Engines
place as much importance on them as they use to, but they are needed all
the same.

On the Home page, I would move the Award picture down. It's important to
have it on the Home page, but it is not so important that it should be the
first thing we see. Also the other picture, the African one, could be
moved to replace the Award with some text next to it. Also, if you have an
Award on your site, I think the correct thing to do is to link to the
Award site with it. That let's us know that you really did win the Award
and didn't just copy it from somewhere.

The Home page should also have a little more about who you are and why we
should run around your site. Tell us why you build the site for example.

Lower on the Home page you have some testimonials that you use again on a
later page. I would have them on only one of the pages, not both. If you
want testimonials on both pages, make them different ones. And on the
bottom you have some text, "Get all the details on Ezine Expertise" that
seems to be a link but isn't. Make it one.

And I would not lead with the testimonials on the "Ezine Expertise" page.
I would move them down the page. Again you feature the Award at the top of
the page. Move it down. And place something there that tells us what the
page is about and why we need to read through it.

You have a lot of white space on your pages, or in your case background
space. Try and tighten things up so there is not so much between things.

Tell us at the top of each page what is on the page. Introduce the page to
us and make us want to read through it.

Right now the site looks like a Newbie's site. And you are no Newbie, at
least that is what you want us to think so we will want what you are
offering. Work with your builder and see if you can make the site more
professional. You will get a better response to your offers that way.

I wish you luck with the site and all you do, take care.

=====================Site Review Response  (6)===============
From:Robert Lee
Subject: http://www.thatmlmsite.com

Site Review For: Gallant Marketing Group - Providing Innovative Tools and
Resources for the Serious Network Marketer

Serious Tools for the Serious Marketer. Really? Then why is your site a
tripod hosted site? The first thing I see is that you are hiding your page
urls behind tinyurl.com.It looks like shady MLM to me. If you are offering
honesty, why are you hiding your hosting?

And your live support is Microsoft Messenger? Goodness. The confidence you
have for your business being able to support about $80.00 a month in
expenses is incredible.

You need to begin again with a hosted domain. Check out my Dating B2B site
for some suggestions (cheap ones too!)You need to have live suport that is
recognized, Dating B2B can show you some of those too.You need to stop
hiding urls. Extremely UNprofessional!

Otherwise you have a good site, well laid out and inviting for people that
are interested in MLM.

But you need to upgrade your honesty.

=====================Joke of the Day   (1)===============

The man, trying to start up a conversation with another man
said, "Who is the ugly lady over there?"

The second man said, "Why, that's my wife!"

Trying to get out of an embarrassing situation, the first man
said, "No,  not her, the other one!"

The second man said, "That's my daughter!"
