Subject:Permission Spam

Just want to response to Mireille Carrier's posting
regarding permission spam.

Come on! don't tell me that you didn't know that
when you use this kind of cheap advertising, you
are obligated to subscribe to all the ezines that you
are advertising to. I mean it says on their terms of
service, you do read them don't you.

But that's not what I'm writing about. It's funny that
your exact "spam nightmare" article on Adland Digest
manage to end up on a few other ezines that I subscribe
to. So my question is? How are reeeallly..venting your
frustrations? or are you just clever enough that your
article may have some merit to it that readers won't
think of it as another clever ezine strategy to have
people visit your site by clicking on your url on
your signature line at the bottom of each of your
articles. hmmmm?

Curious what other readers of this awesome ezine have
to say? Is this person venting or advertising? or both

Thank you,

"When it comes to marketing programs well. I am losing my faith. I
really
am.

Over the past 3 years. I have spent a lot of my time and money building
up
what I believe to be ethical and legitimate marketing programs. I have
taken the time and trouble to investigate my sites and their workings
before I launch to you, and the general public, and in general they all
work well, with little outage.

Now it seems that marketing has become un ethical. Lets deal with the
lies and spamming.

Here's the first one from Beatrice to my articles address ( Spam
straight
away )

Messages that start. You subscribed to, and sent to my paypal address
which is incoming only.

I get messages to Ralph on my MLMReport.com site. who Ralph is I don't
know. But I've been getting messages for him from about a week after I
bought the domain." <end quote>

Mike the reason why that may be happening is you have your email address
displayed on your site for all the spam scam merchants to harvest and
collect. You ad blocking software is pretty much garbage. I suggest
switching to a java contact form.

Then you go on to further say

<qoute>
"Now I know this is going to upset some of you. But this FlyinAds
program
is already causing me problems.

I did have to laugh when I read how it's being marketed

======================================

Here's what Mark Joyner, #1 best-selling author of
"MindControlMarketing.com" has to say about FlyInAds.com...

"Fly-In Ads are the next big wave in Internet advertising. This
blows away everything else that's out there."

==================================

Does this mean that everyone who has just bought Marks Farewell Package
for a few $100 has just by Marks own words. bought something that has
already been blown away. Does this mean Mark will be making a refund?"
<end quote>

Well you can just kiss your $100 dollars bye bye becauce your never going
to see it. Let this be plain and simple. You been sold a bill of goods
thats basicly garbage. And you chose to follow a major guru that has alot
of questioanable money making programs that are purely junk. It is just
amazing how fast you got your brainwashed.

Well Jesus wept. Didn't you see that you were being lead down the primrose
path to disaster by falling for the hyped programs that Mark promotes. I
believe he has some sites that are down right hostle and just plain
gimmicky. I take it you did not read the wording right. FlyInAds, that
basicly means the ads just fly right into your system with multiple pop
ads that are just cheesy and gimmicky.

You know that there are sites out there that just go right into your
system and reset your browser settings. I encountered that just by surfing
the major search engines.

As for your losing faith on marketing programs. Thats your own fault by
joining hyped up gimmicks and schemes. I hope you learned your lesson well
and will think twice before joining these so called schemes that are well
hyped.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Invest in worthwhile opportunities for once. Its plain foolish to
promote gimmicky scams and schemes with no hopes to make money.

For a little while I received a lot of spam (and Windows crashes) - a
friend suggested I downloaded Lavasoft's Ad-Aware - it works (this is not
an ad - I make no money from this recommendation).

--------------

I agree with your distaste for Flying Ads - it gives me the willies to
think about it. Why would anyone want to buy something advertised in such
an obnoxious manner? I'm sure I won't be buying either those products - or
selling Flying Ads.

---------------

Since I've only been in internet marketing for less than a year, I can't
say I'm disillusioned - it's all a learning curve for me. I started out by
being naive and believing - now I'm a lot more skeptical.

I tell people who get those IP ads, those are doing them a favor by
letting them know they're wide open to the internet. Any hacker or worm
can get into their PC as easily as the ads do. You go and sell them your
IP ad-blocker, and they'll think they've plugged the hole, when they
haven't.

Why should they buy your IP ad-blocking software when ZoneAlarm is free?
You're right, network marketers just aren't to be trusted.

From:Syed Murtaza
Subject:OK - I'm fed up

I could'nt help reply to your post. The thing is the only thing I ever
marketed on the internet was the cookie cutter program, and would still
admit that although I made no money at all, I did learn the ropes of
internet marketing right upto basic e-commerce.

Your question cannot be answered in a yes or no, hence you are neither
right nor wrong, because it is the way a marketer works makes the
difference. What is happening is that everybody wants to do what
everybody else is doing. If some marketers (spammers actually) are on
marketing 'cash evolution', you will have the entire community of online
marketers doing the very same thing (I was one!). What I find very
surprising is that most of the marketers seem desparate, aggressive,
operating in a very crude manner. They don't even know if they are
emailing the right gender for a gender-specific product, let alone request
(take permission) to send an offer for something very personal or intimate
in nature in the first place. It really is an embarrassment to open any of
my email accounts in presence of someone else, a family member or a
colleague at work.

However, you can still work as an online marketer of good programs, if done
properly, just like we would treat any conventional(brick and mortar)
business. Nothing happens by chance, you get what you give. Spamming
blindly, with the same product/program every other spammer is pushing on
the planet might get you a trickle of a profit. Whereas, with a unique
product, marketed to a target or niche market (people) you can be certain
of success (assuming you already know all about net marketing).

Most of the money I made was with consultant services for people wanted to
go online, do search engine placement, get online with a website. I still
had to meet people, deal face to face, while the product was in the thin
air, the internet!

I haven't give up selling completely online, hence I am going into regular
stuff like marketing web hosting, and domain registration. The next
thing I am planning is selling ebooks, 4 page reports, booklets, for
10$-25$ a piece, with a (modest) target of 2 or 3 thousand copies per
ebook. As this I honestly feel its a waste of time setting up a
reseller/referral/affiliate system, because my time/energy spent marketing
to marketers would have been more worthwhile if I reached my
clients/customers directly.

All the best to your future success!

From:Amalia Sotiriadou
Subject:OK - I'm fed up

Hi Mike.

You are both right and wrong. How can you be both? Well, you are right,
because spam and popups and ugh! those "flying ads" are a pain in the...
neck and hard to get rid of without getting rid of things you WANT to see.
I especially hate the viagra, penis enlargement (I guess they figure
Amalia MUST be a man!) and porno emails that you have no way of getting
rid of or filtering out. One of my sites was "taken over" by a porno site
and we had to discontinue it. Things like that are not only irritating,
they are downright harmful.
Now, let's examine where you are wrong. There are programs that can get
rid of a lot of the problems you described, especially those programs that
"take over" your computer. Ad-aware is one of them, and I catch about 10
pirate programs per month with it. Which is a good thing, because I'm not
ready to format my computer!
Furthermore, although there is a loud minority who have found porno-heaven
and spam-heaven through the Internet, there is a more tactful majority who
is simply trying to make an honest living on the Internet, sometimes
providing information and products of real value. Like everywhere in life,
each one of us chooses what they want in their Internet experience and
acts accordingly.
Yes, there are scams out there and there is a tendency to exaggerate the
benefits in all Internet Marketing programs. Whether the exaggeration is
the result of the owner's enthusiasm while making his/her site, or because
"that's the way it's done" on the Internet, it's up to the consumer or
prospective affiliate to study an offer from all angles before committing
to it. Exaggeration while advertising or selling is not something new. I
don't know how it is like where you live, but here, when it's time for the
commercials on TV, the sound goes up by a few decibels even though no one
has touched the remote control. Irritating? YES. Effective? Apparently, or
they wouldn't be spending so much money to do it.

Amalia

Oh my do I know what you mean! I went through all that, and it is an
unfortunate way to explore the frequent claims that ezine advertising is
the best.

I went through it about a year ago, complying with all of the demand of
ezine publishers and meeting their requirements so that they would run my
free ad.

I spend several days doing that, until I decided to sit back and see
whether it was really worth it. All that work yeilded a total of 59 hits.
I have never recommended it to anyone else.

Ijust read Andy's post, and he is telling it like it is. It doesn't do any
good to keep sending e-mail AT each other trying to sell this program or
that. A Service or Product that Helps others make money with the Internet
Business they already have is the way to go. I have found this out the
hard way, and I'm not out of the woods yet... but I'm working on it!

Subject:Seeking Software

Hello Fellow Subscribers,

I am new to adlandpro.com. I had completely forgotten I was getting a
digest.

I have a request for you all. Does anyone know of a website design
program which allows creation from forms. I would like to provide my
clients with this service.

What I mean specifically is:

The person would buy my product, and be directed to a simple form.

With dropdown menus for color and font options.

With fill in the blanks for specified URL's, name, payment acct. #, and
contact information.

The person would then submit the form and be directed to a completed,
semi-customized website of their own, or given simple instructions to
upload it to their site.

I am uncertain as to whether or not this type of program exists in the
form I want. I have seen similar websites, like the free webpages, where
you fill in the blanks and get a site. I don't know what they are using
for this.

Please help. I have been looking and asking questions everywhere I can
think of. The people who will talk to me don't know, and the people who
do know are too busy to respond.

Thank you very much. Your time and attention is greatly appreciated.
