========================= 1.Search Engine Optimization Secrets By Eduardo Queiroz Joke of the Day ========================= ================== Word from publisher ==================== Greetings All Welcome 490 new subscribers who joined list since last mailing. =================4 Killer Joint Venture Marketing Tactics! ===================== From:Larry Dotson 1) Co-Op Ad For An E-zine Ad First find a targeted e-zine in which you would want to buy an ad. You would then persuade four other businesses to join in on the cost of the ad. In return they would get a space on the web site you are advertising. You would ask the four businesses to pay you 1/4 of the ad’s cost. That means you would pay nothing for the ad. 2) Publish E-zines For Other Web Sites You could offer to publish e-zines for high traffic web sites that don't have one yet, in exchange for running one or more of your ads in them. You would want to look for popular or high search engine ranking web sites. Of course the web site would advertise it, which would help build up a big subscriber list quickly. You could also ask them to run one of your product ads on their web site. 3) Buy An Ad To Get Multiple Ads At No Cost You can buy an ad (or use a free method to get an ad) and write a testimonial to the e-zine publisher about how well it did. Tell the e-zine publisher he or she can list your testimonial in the advertising information section of their e-zine. Of course your signature file (ad) would be at the end of the testimonial. 4) Create A Package Deal With A Publisher You could ask an e-zine publisher to combine his or her product or service with your product or service in a package deal. This gives people more reasons to buy both your products and services. People also have come to believe package deals are better value. You want all the products or services to be closely related. You could host the package deal on your web site and the e-zine publisher would likely advertise it in their e-zine.

From:James Zimmerman Subject:response to pop ups In response to your inquiry about pop-ups, if the pop-ups were part of a program that the affiliate had signed up for in order to advertise, their site would have been advertised along with several others in a program that sneaks into the users computer and issues instructions on which ads to open in the windows. This happened to me and it was very hard to get rid of the program. Without more details it's hard to say if this was the situation. From:Erika (Rikie) Matheson Subject:Email lists Iain Mckinnon asked.... "Hi, dose anyone have any info on an easy to use companies that will send out email shots for me at a good rate. Please only give info if you have had good response from the service. I am promoting a casino at the moment and would like any ideas that you have."
Well Iain,
As a relative newbie to web-marketing, and wanting to create an ezine, I decided to purchase a mail server ["Aureate Group Mail"]. This was quite an investment at the time but has proved to be well worth every penny spent. I get full control over what I publish, I can do it in text or html or both [to suit the receiver] and I can publish anytime I wish. I didn't just jump in with wallet waiving though, this program was available as a FREE download with upgraded service able to be purchased as my lists grew. For me, the best investment to date. Available at http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?B=3937&U=41404&M=1465 . You also mentioned you are currently promoting a casino. I would like to advise caution in you advertising with this as some people take offence to ads regarding "gaming" and other "Adult Only" items. You must be careful of your target market. If you want some hints re casino's, please visit http://skyeman.com/CasinoHaven Best wishes, Rikie

From:Marc Possoff Subject:Generating Traffic, Continued To be more clear, what I'm seeking is , what's the best way to get traffic to my website? Now with MPAM, they recommend to build traffic first, then promote your primary company. >From this standpoint(build traffic first), it makes sense in a way. And it doesn't make sense. Most important, I have a primary company that I have been promoting and want to promote it via internet marketing. If I didn't have a primary to promote, then build traffic first, makes sense. These traffic terms and not really familiar with, but have seen them often. Traffic Exchanges, like nomorehits, etc. I understand what this is. I look at someone's site and return they look at mine. Now I have read John Olson's post regarding the above. I would take a guess that most people are only concerned about getting credits, not really interested in really looking, UNLESS one sees a site that catches there eye. So, I'm wondering if traffic exchanges are effective? Now the program I'm involved with(mpam), suggests to open and close your at least 60 times. Seems like a lot, surfing others sites. Just want to make sure it will be appropriate for me comments http://www.adlandpro.com/adlandpost.htm

From:Marc Possoff Subject:Beginner's Question about Generating Traffic Hello Everyone! I really enjoy Adland and glad to be part of it. I have some questions/concerns. I'm a beginner in the internet marketing game. I am and have been very successful in offline marketing. I want to focus more on internet marketing. I currently joined a program called MPAM. I'm sure some of you have heard and/or have taken a look at MPAM. I see John Olson post in their forums. The reason I joined MPAM, initially was because I was under the impression it was a course on internet marketing.That it will take and show you step by step on the process of that particular system. In Mpam, they recommend not to "plug" in your particular program until you have built enough traffic. Then when it's enough, you can "plug" it in. So basically, what I see from MPAM is that you are actually promoting MPAM itself and not your particular program. I got disappointed when I discovered this, cause I really want to promote the program I'm involved with. So, one of my question is, is there a "system" available that a person, like myself, can get the maximum benefit of promoting a particular program? These are some sites that I would like to promote via internet marketing. http://www.timelesstechnology.com http://www.getcheaprates.com The above sites geared towards retail of the products and services. marcpossoff.cognigen.org The above site, I'm in the process of getting a domain name and is geared towards recruiting people in my business opportunity. Now what caught my eye in this issue and the previous issue was comments made by Jim Olson that really make sense to me. In reference to traffic exchanges. I do have a feeling that most people who participate in traffic exchanges only do so to get traffic to their site and don;t really care about your site. John talks about targeted traffic, "You have to Target the Site who will be viewing it." So John if you can get much more specific, so I could be pointed in the right direction, I would deeply appreciate that. So to summarize, I was wondering if there is a good and proven "system" that I can promote my particular program right from the start? And need more specificity about the subject of traffic exchanges, target traffic and how that all comes in to play. And some recommendations on getting on the right track to promote my sites. Thanks All. Marc

From:Gloria Seckler Subject:I am looking for the cheapest way to advertise Hello, I have some other websites that I will need to advertise. From:Judi Copeland Subject: http://www.allenpalmervideos.com I visited http://www.allenpalmervideos.com. It is a good layout and it has all the information I need to motivate me to contact you if I needed the service. I would try to make the sample pictures either smaller or cut down on the weight to make it load faster. Otherwise, it looks great.

From:Jerry Combs Subject: http://www.allenpalmervideos.com Allen, I personally liked your site, as you say it's simple, fast loading and very informative. The only thing I saw was your logo loaded very slow, but you had some reading there that we could read while the logo loaded. Over all I think you are on the right track. Jerry Combs

=====================Site Review Response (3)===============
From:James Pendleton Subject: http://www.allenpalmervideos.com Okay Allen Palmer, You asked for it. Over the years I have had my many layouts reviewed and have done many reviews my self. Giving and receiving site reviews can be brutal ! Please take this with a grain of salt because there is no sugar coating. Layout and Navigation: The over all layout is good and navigation is poor. Color scheme look and feel: The color scheme in regards to your navigation links are poor. You can not see the links. The background is dark and the links are dark. Not even a roll over effect on mouse over to highlight the links. So they are not visible at all. Tip change active link , visited link colors. The feel of the site is good. Load speed good but I am on high speed access. You may check on dialup and see how fast your page loads. If slow try shrinking your gifs with a gif shirker. Visit my tools category at freebonanza. http://freebonanza.com/tools I think there are some there.
The actual feel of the text content arrangement of the
site is poor. You need to decide on justifying the text to the left or changing it to look better if justifying middle. Content: You have good relative contact information and explanation of your business. It is crystal clear and right to the point. The pitch is good but all pitches can be tweaked. Html code: One of the first things I do when reviewing sites is look at it code. Specifically at its meta tags. Your need to be fixed in regards to your keyword usage. Your key words have nothing to do with your sites theme. That is unless you will also take pictures of stuffed animals being married after they leave the taxidermist. :) You have no Robot text files. Your site will not get indexed in the engines. Read about meta tags at the tutorial of http://jgp-distribution.com/tutorial/money.htm Also follow the saga of my return to visibility learn an see first hand how to be seen on the net. That area under the reciprocal link area that says must read. Main page. Conclusion: If it was not for the navigation color issues I would say your site was excellent. But the for mentioned makes it fair. Navigation is very important.

Search Engine Optimization Secrets ByEduardo Queiroz I'm sure that everyone knows that the travel sector is one of the most competitive online. There are literally thousands of sites and the search engine rankings appear to be controlled by the big corporate travel sites. So where does that leave a small travel business on the internet? Well, there are actually still many opportunities for these sites.
The main focus of travel sites always seems to be on the
very popular keywords like "travel". Getting a top 10 ranking for these very general keywords is virtually impossible. Therefore, smaller sites need to target words which give them a decent chance of success.
This requires a site to target very specific phrases.
For example, here are the number of searches on Overture last month for some travel related keywords: travel - 1481584 searches air travel - 88876 adventure travel - 65840 travel to Japan - 31321 travel to thailand - 17540 travel to michigan - 9868
Now, this shows that getting a top 10 listing for the
word "travel" would be great but it also shows that getting a top 10 listing for a very specific phrase would still be very useful. This is where your focus should be. Focus on as many specific keywords and phrases as you can find. The more specific the better because there will be less competition for them on the search engines. There is also a good chance that your conversion rate will be higher because the people using specific phrases obviously have a very good idea of what they are looking for.
Once you have a list of specific phrases that you want
to target, you need to make sure that the search engines actually list you when people do a search.
Now, often travel sites will consist of lots of pictures,
maybe a form to allow people to check prices and make bookings and a bit of text. Of these things, it's only the text that will help with your rankings.
So, if your site doesn't provide much text, you need to
add pages to your site to target each of your keywords. The best way to do it is to write articles. Have each one target a particular phrase.
For example, if you want to target "travel to Michigan",
write an article about travelling to Michigan. Include information on where people can stay when they get there, what they can do on their holiday, how often the airlines fly and so on.
The search engines love content so make sure that
content is what you give them. The relevance of your page is determined by a number of factors but the text on the page is as important as any other when chasing rankings for very targeted phrases.
This approach does require a bit of extra work but it
will definitely pay off in the long run.

=====================Joke of the Day (1)===============
God the Computer Programmer. You know, many important theological questions are answered if we think of God as a Computer Programmer. Q: Does God control everything that happens in my life? A: He could, if he used the debugger, but it's tedious to step through all those variables. Q: Why does God allow evil to happen? A: God thought he eliminated evil in one of the earlier versions. Q: What causes God to intervene in earthly affairs? A: If a critical error occurs, the system pages him automatically and he logs on from home to try to bring it up. Otherwise things can wait until tomorrow. Q: Did God really create the world in seven days? A: He did it in six days and nights while living on cola and candy bars. On the seventh day he went home and found out his girlfriend had left him. Q: How come the Age of Miracles Ended? A: That was the development phase of the project, now we are in the maintenance phase. Q: Who is Satan? A: Satan is a MIS director who takes credit for more powers than he actually possesses, so people who aren't programmers are scared of him. God thinks of him as irritating but irrelevant.
