1) You could add special offers in your ad copy.
It's usually easier to sell the offer than the product.
You could use discounts, free bonuses, volume
sales, etc. For example, you could say, "You'll get
5 bonuses when you order by Aug 24, 2002!"
Another example, "Buy one, get the second one
half price off."

2) You should eliminate the hard-to-understand
jargon on your ad copy. Unless your product calls
for technical words, you want your ad to be read
without people pulling out a dictionary. If you need
to use a word your target audience might not under-
stand, define it or use an example to help them
understand it.

3) You could add proof of results in your ad copy.
You should include testimonials, endorsements and
factual statistics to prove your product's claims. You
should only publish statements that are believable
and have specific results. For example, here is a
good line from a testimonial, "I increased my sales
by 678%!"

I do wish you all the luck with the Free Agent Path and Life Force. And
someone like you just might make a go of it. But personally, I don't trust
Mark Joyner and I never will. And from what I've heard, his so called
"Fair Well Package" wasn't selling all that well. At least not as well as
he would have liked.

To me, Mark is all smoke and mirrors, hype and the Big Name Con. Life
Force maybe a real good company, but anything with Joyner's name on it,
makes me run for cover.

So, work with your downlines and help them grow with you, that is the best
way to succeed. That, and with a company like Life Force, get some retail
sales going if at all possible.

I have been involved with Noni before and my inexperience was my biggest
barrier to my own success. That has nothing to do with any programs. Mark
Joyner and Mike Chen did start Free Agent Path but that has little to do
with individual success.

I think ALL products have their own niche and I am not writing to tell you
that my products is better than yours.

What I have learned from Mark, Mike and Joe is that it is up to me to
decide how much SUCCESS I can set my goal for. The Free Agent Path is a
vehicle but I'm not sitting around for Mark, Mike or Joe to take the
driver seat. I f we have to sit and wait to run into a successful upline
to prove himself, we are just watching from the sideline. I decide to join
because I have a DREAM that I BELIEVE in.

Leadership grows only because of ACTION. I am taking ACTION today and if
you or any of my downlines decide to join my team, that is because I am a
GOOD LEADER and I believe in you.

Ask the girls in Mary Kay why they join when there are thousands of
different brands of cosmetics over the counter that one can buy. They will
tell you what I am telling you now. Mary Kay has helped changed their
belief system - they have someone who believes in them and they learned to
value their own skills.

If you believe in yourself, you can sell just about anything. The only
different between Mark Joyner's program and other programs like Morinda,
Amyway or Avon is that Free Agent Path is the one I saw first.

Four sign ups in 6 weeks may not impress other but enough to prove that I
am doing something right and there are others who share my value.

and that personal touch is what made you SUCCESSFUL in what you do.

I don't know of any one E-Book that will help in and of itself. Most just
rehash what all the others talk about. But then I haven't read each and
every one of them. But you have one thing right. And it's something I tell
people all the time.

Never pay for an E-Book.

Programs all over the Web give the silly things away as part of their
package to get you to sign up with them. Why pay for one? In fact, if you
want E-books for free, head over to BuildReferrals, my link from my site
or anyone else's. It's a free program and along side several useful tools,
they offer a ton of E-books with their free membership.

But I wouldn't advice anyone to pay for one. You can get all the advice
and so call secrets from the free ones being offered by programs like
BuildReferrals and lots of others. Not to mention all the free advice you
can get right here in the Adland Digest.

Good luck and remember, there is NO Magic Bullet or Book that will make
you Rich. You are the only one who can do that for yourself.

marketing,also about the big dogs!
I was in LFI way back when",don't have any comment good or bad,safelists?
You have to get customers to trust you before you will make a buck and the
way to do that is to developed and own your personal safelist.
Safelists are becoming a thing of the past,most have become saturated,all
you get in mailbox is a bunch of counter offers.I have spent 5 or 6 years
in Direct and Internet marketing and i don't care how you look at it or
how you do it,you will still catch an odor of (MLM)
A phrase i don't care to use,email,e-zines,e-books,marketing
software,traffic helpers,tracking,everybody has the best according to
them.Oh well,let me hush my trap,nobody is interested anyway if you are
looking for a simple way to get prospects and potential customers i can
tell you something to do most of us never think of and it works too,even
though i don't use the internet anymore much in my business (I am a

It's a sticky situation. A prospect, a site visitor, or just
a casual acquaintance asks for your help or advice on something.
You gladly give it, thinking it's a one-time "favor." But
instead of providing a little free advice, you've opened the
door to an onslaught of mooching! Now, every time you check
your email, you find question after question. What do you do?

This is a problem many online business owners face.
You want to appear friendly and helpful, but the person on
the receiving end of your favor is draining you dry. After
all, these are services you charge for. This is how you make
your living.

Like many folks, you don't want to appear rude or unprofessional.
But the time you take to answer questions and provide help is
taking away from your ability to earn an income. Let me tell
you about one approach that seems to work wonderfully.

Minimal Information

When the repeat offender asks for help, offer a minimal response
to the question. For the sake of illustration, let's say your
area of expertise is in Web site design. If the person asks for
information on making his/her site design more professional, you
might consider saying that adding a top border to the site would
create continuity. You might also mention that having black text
on a white background makes for easier reading (as opposed to
white text with a deep purple background). However, don't go
into details.

This lets you give an answer to the question (instead of just
ignoring them), but doesn't reveal any information you might
charge for.

Honesty Is the Best Policy

Next, be honest. Explain that designing Web sites is what you
do for a living. It's how you earn your income. Let the person
know that you would be more than happy to offer consulting
services or full-fledge design and maintenance services, but
these would come at a cost. Outline your pricing structure
for people so they'll know exactly what each service costs.

This action gets you "off the hook" (so to speak) and frees
you from having to answer any future questions.

Provide Alternative Resources

Go one final step further and find some alternative, free
resources the person might check into for additional information.
By offering a list of design forums, free ebooks, or information
-packed sites, you're getting yourself out of the picture in a
kind and professional way.

Nine times out of ten, "moochers" either don't have the money
to pay, or they are unwilling to pay for products and services.
In either case, you're unlikely to make a paying client out of
such people. By using the steps above, you gain your freedom,
and at the same time provide helpful resources where the moocher
can get free information.

 My back ground in MLM spans back some 44 plus years and I've worked
numerous programs both off and online and finally burned out dealing with
the pitfalls of working various MLM businesses.

   I got involved with this one of a kind marketing plan called EMM but
did not take it too seriously and sort of dabbled in it a bit while
working other MLM opportunities until I got tired of doing three way
calls, attempting to train downline sort of knowing that at least 95% of
them will fail and still looking for the needle in a hay stack leader
which has been far and few between.After my last failure with MLM not
being able to build an effective downline to duplicate me, I decided to
take a real serious look at EMM again and this is why I am writing to this

   The problem with MLM is NOT the pay plan. The problem is the MARKETING
plan. You see, the PAY PLAN cannot PAY if the MARKETING PLAN fails to
create the duplication that fuels it.

   If you could join a company, immediately sponsor 2 prospects who then
sponsored 4, who then sponsored 8, who sponsored 16, etc, with each of
those people making monthly sales quotas, you'd become VERY rich VERY

   That kind of duplication is the job of the MARKETING PLAN. That's where
Network Marketing (MLM) breaks down.

   "Networking", in the traditional sense, involves SELLING and selling
requires a highly developed set of skills.

   There are hundreds, maybe thousands of books that teach selling
techniques. Read ANY of them and you quickly see that the sales process is
a battle of wills.

   It pits the SALESPERSON'S crafting and delivery of a persuasive
presentation and closing sequence against the PROSPECT'S natural
resistance to being SOLD!

   If SELLING was easy then there would be no NEED for those thousands of
books about how to do it. It takes longer to become a master at the art of
selling than it does to become a medical doctor or an engineer!

   Why? Because human beings have a natural, unconscious, built-in
resistance to being sold - EVEN if the product or service is something

   Yet, for some unknown reason, Network MARKETING (there's that word
again) has promoted the idea that ANYONE can be successful at performing
the task of SELLING others on the opportunity.

   Most people cannot successfully sell, just as most people cannot
successfully do brain surgery or design bridges. They simply do not have
the skills, and after hearing NO a few times, the feelings of rejection
lead them to give up.

   Exact Method Marketing (EMM)uses the same type of downline-driven PAY
PLAN as Network Marketing, just as Joe's Hamburger Stand uses the same
type of ground beef that McDonald's uses. But that's where the similarity

   Understand this. If ANY MLM company, using almost any pay plan, could
persuade EVERYONE who signs on to STAY WITH IT until they sponsored only 2
people...ONLY TWO...they would have an unstoppable money machine!

   EMM replaces a MARKETING PLAN that requires human "adversarial selling"
with a MARKETING PLAN that informs, enlightens and explains the
opportunity to targeted prospects, LOOKING for what EMM offers.

   Then it allows those prospects to choose whether or not they will
participate. No pressure from a sales person, no hype and no need to
"defend". Most importantly, EMM allows non-sales people to replicate the
process with NO REJECTION.

email. Ezines are the best way. You'll
notice as you read our marketing articles,
that there are ads interspersed. Supposedly
you are reading the ads as well as our
articles. We hope so, anyway.

It is not necessary to publish a whole
ezine, you can actually email short quotes,
jokes or even a quiz. One person we know
mass mails bible verses twice a week to
his opt-in subscribers.

Included with his emailed verses are
ads for his business and service. So twice
a week, his readers receive bible verses
and some promotional material, all
subscribed to.

At one time we sent out American Trivia
questions twice-a-week with our ads included.
This was very popular with our readers and
it brought in lots of new business.

Keep this in mind for promoting your business.
Do you have quick tips to send readers a couple
of times a week? Do you have something of
interest? What about jokes? Or Hollywood
gossip or famous quotes or baseball statistics?
These are all quick items that people are
interested in and they are great ways to get
your business name out there as sponsor of
the mailings.

You could send top ten lists of movies, music
and more. You could send the latest golf scores
or keep people informed of the latest stock
trends, all in just a few lines with your
ad included.

So you followed our advice and went to all the work to build your
own website, and now it's up and running. You put a hit counter
on the site, and are dismayed at the number of visitors who stop
by to visit. Aside from your personal hits when you check the
activity, there have been few if any others.

You notified everyone in your address book, put up a few FFA ads,
paid someone to submit your site to a few search engines, and
nothing seemed to generate interest. These are things often heard
from website owners that are just starting out. A few years
back, I wrote an article titled "I Shot An Arrow Into The Air -It
Fell To Earth I Know Not Where."

Some people feel the words from this poem by Henry Wadsworth
Longfellow make an appropriate strategy for an advertising
campaign for their business. They purchase hundreds of thousands
of E-mail addresses, and thinking of each as an "arrow shot into
the air", hope that some will fall to earth and hit a prospective

The odds of this generating business for you are "slim to none".
In fact, this is called spamming, and many ISP's, who have a zero
tolerance for this, may discontinue your service. So forget the
ads that promise that you will get millions of email addresses
for a very low price, and all you have to do is sit back and
watch the money roll in. Many of these lists are outdated and
are so old they have "whiskers".

The majority of the email addresses sold are actually harvested
from the web. Most of the people who advertise, don't want to
compromise their real email address so they get temporary free
ones, and this is what they use in their ads.

My experience is that approximately two percent of these email
addresses are discontinued for one reason or another every week.
Some were trial memberships with AOL that they didn't continue,
while others were shut down for spamming. Some people with free
email accounts lost interest - their mailboxes filled up (with
other spam) and they were discontinued.

If you plan to market by email, you should build your own list.
Sure this takes some time, but the rewards will be worth it. This
is a responsible approach to the use of business E-mail. I do
believe there is a "bottom line" here. If your list is highly
targeted, remove requests are immediately honored, and you are
providing something of interest, you should not encounter any
problems and just may do some business.

There are a number of ways to get people to your web site so you
can make the actual sale. One of the time proven methods is to
search out Newsletters or Ezines that match your target market.
Don't make the mistake of thinking that a huge subscriber base is
best. It is better to advertise in smaller publications that are
targeted to the group you wish to contact, than ones with very
large subscriber bases that are not. Publications that are not
targeted are like shooting that arrow into the air. Sure, you
may get a few but realistically you won't get many.

Search Engines are a good bet. Get your web site listed, but
don't fall for the pitch that someone can do it for you for a few
bucks. To do it right, it is simply too much work to be able to
get any type of good listing for a small fee. This is
something you should consider doing yourself, and if you do spend
the necessary time, the rewards will be worth it.

Think about writing some articles in areas of your expertise.
Most publications permit an authors credit box following the
article. If your articles are well written and timely, the odds
are they will be published. Anything that you can do to improve
your business profile, will pay off in the long run.

Helms hems and haws and finally asks, "Can I think about it and get back
to you?" Bush agrees, and Helms leaves. He immediately calls a meeting of
other senior senators, and they puzzle over the question for several hours,
but nobody can come up with an answer. Finally, in desperation, Helms calls
Colin Powell at the State Department and explains his problem.

"Now look here Colin Powell, your mother has a child, and your father
has a child, and this child is not your brother, or your sister. Who is it?"
Powell answers immediately, "It's me, of course, you dumb ass."

Much relieved, Helms rushes back to the White House and exclaims, "I
know the answer, sir! I know who it is! It's Colin Powell!" And Bush replies
in disgust, "Wrong, you dumb ass, It's Tony Blair!"
