By Josh Barinstein

Joke of the Day

================== Word from publisher ====================

Greetings All

Welcome  280 new subscribers who joined list since last mailing.

Have you ever wondered why some sites fail while others  succeed? The funny
thing is this. The sites that fail often  look better, have better graphics,
great sales letters,  offer excellent customer service and more than the sites
that succeed.

So what makes them fail?

What is the difference between success and failure  on the Internet?

Traffic Is The Answer!

No matter how good your sales letter is, how pretty your  graphics are or how
great your product is, without enough  visitors you will not make sales!

And nothing creates visitors to your
site like a powerful Joint Venture.

The fact is, there are many good ways to get targeted traffic  to your website
and make more sales. I've used many of them  myself, including ...

1) Buying Pay Per Click Search advertising in PPC search engines like Overture
    or Google AdWords
2) Buying ezine advertising
3) Getting 'Page One' listings in the major search engines.  Using Time
consuming Advanced Search Engine Optimization  (SEO) Techniques.
4) Banner ads
5) Popunder ads
6) And more.

As good as these methods are, they all suffer from one fatal flaw.
They cost money and you can't know that they will work.
Unlike these methods, only Joint Ventures can deliver ....

F^ree Traffic
F^ree Advertising
F^ree Customers

More than that, JV Profit Power teaches you a system you can  repeat again and
again, anytime you need to create extra income!

============There is some good, honest help online============
From:Bruce Chambers

With all the negatives in internet-marketing, and I have
had my share, I hope I will be able to post this note as
A positive.

In a post about 3 weeks ago, Robyn mentioned he would be
willing to help newbie's set-up on the internet. I sent
him an e-mail, which he answered within hours.

Well he didn't just help (I know O about computers), he
recoded my web-site (the person who set it up for me was
getting all the hits instead of to my affiliate sites). He transferred my
hosting to his and didn't charge me. Since changing hosting, my hits went
up from 600 a month to over 35,000. Yes, the old host was ripping me off
too.
Please check if someone sets up your site & the host too.

I hope you will publish the man's name and host.Robyn is
with yourinnerspace.com.He is a member of Adlandpro.

Also, Thank you for your service,

Best wishes,

=================3 Magic Ways To Increase Your Sales!=====================
From:Larry Dotson

1) Tell your potential customers in your ad copy
that you will donate a percentage of their purchase
price to a specific charity. This will show them you
really care about people. They may just buy your
product so their money will go to the charity. For
example, you could say, "I will donate .75 cents
from each order to the (name) Foundation."

2) Ask your potential customers plenty of 'yes' and
'no' questions in your ad copy. The questions
should remind them of their problem and make them
think about what will happen if they don't purchase
your product. For example, you could say, "Do you
want to get out of debt?" "Do you want to have
financial security?"

3) Tell your potential customers they will receive a
F^ree prize if they find the five words in your ad copy
that are misspelled or spelled backwards. The
longer you can keep someone reading your copy,
the greater chance of them purchasing. You could
also have them find hidden links, hidden graphics,
etc.

===========C o n t i n u i n g D i s c u s s i o n (1.1)=============
From:Sharon Bray-McPherson
Subject:The Good and Evil War

This is in response to the ongoing discussion about pyramid schemes versus
the legitimate MLM business model.

I am not associated with any of the companies that were labelled as
"pyramid schemes" in a previous issue of the Digest, but I do think it is
important that others have a few guidelines to follow when deciding which
network marketing company to work for.  And yes, I said "work",
because to build a successful MLM business it will require you to work as
hard - if not harder - than you do at a "regular job".

The following is adapted from the Better Business Bureau Consumer
Information Series.

MLM is a system of retailing in which consumer products are sold by
independent businesspersons (distributors). You can set your own hours and
earn money based on your efforts and ability to sell consumer products and
services supplied to you, the distributor, by an established MLM company.

The MLM company also will encourage you to build and manage your own sales
force by recruiting, motivating, supplying and training others to sell the
products and services. A percentage based on the sales of your sales force
would be your compensation, in addition to personal sales.

Although it is possible to build a successful multi-level business with
comparatively little start-up money, keep in mind that it is NOT a means
of getting rich quickly or easily. Successful distributors who
have recruited and trained a large number of sellers, also have to assume
ongoing wholesaling and managing responsibilities as well as making sales
to their own retail customers. Managing such a large network can be
lucrative, but it is hard work and can become a full-time job.

"Pyramid" schemes, on the other hand, concentrate mainly on the quick
profits to be earned by selling the right to recruit others. The
merchandise or service to be sold is largely ignored, and little or no
mention is made
regarding a market for the product. Pyramid scheme participants attempt to
recoup their investments in products by recruiting from the
ever-decreasing
number of potential investors in a given area.

You are not really sure what the product or service is, or how it's going
to be sold. Instead the emphasis is on the fact that all you have to do,
aside from investing your money in the program, is to get others to
invest. The plan focuses more on the recruiting of other participants than
on selling the product or service.

GUIDELINES

1.Be wary if the start-up cost for the investment is substantial.
Legitimate multi-level marketing companies usually require a small
start-up cost. Pyramid schemes on the other hand, pressure you to pay a
large amount to become a "distributor". The promoters behind the scheme
make most of their profit on the signing up of new
recruits.

2.Find out if the company will buy back inventory. If not, watch out, you
could be saddled with unsold inventory. Keep in mind that legitimate
companies that require you to purchase an inventory should offer and stick
to inventory buy-backs of at least 80 percent of what you paid. Some state
laws require 90 percent buy- backs.

3.What is the consumer market for the products? If the company seems to be
making money by recruiting alone, you will want to stay away! Remember,
MLM depends on selling to consumers and establishing a market for quality
products. Pyramid schemes, however, are not concerned with sales of the
products. Rather, they focus on profits to be made on volume sales to new
recruits who buy the products in order to participate in the scheme.

A CHECKLIST

1.Before investing, get all the facts about the company, its officers, its
products. Find out the start-up cost and the company's buy-back policy.

2.Get written copies of the company's marketing plan, sales literature,
etc.

3.Check with others who have experience with the company and its products.
Are the products actually being sold to consumers?

4.To check on a company, contact your local Better Business Bureau,
district attorney or state attorney general's office. Also, you may want
to contact the Direct Selling Association, a national trade association
representing legitimate in-home sales companies, many
of which engage in multi-level marketing.

William,

I find your high and mighty attitude offensive.

How many subscribers do think you have offended by calling their offer crap? You
are acting like you are the end all authority on these matters and the truth is,
most of know that you are not.

Have you ever tried Noni Juice or are you just repeating stuff that you have
read? I have used it (Morinda Noni Juice) and seen wonderful results. I have
seen it invoke miraculous post operative recovery. There is no doubt in my mind
that it is an excellent product with a variety of health benefits.

I have met people who are earning money with SFI and Amway, too. How do these
companies manage without your approval? There must be some kind of need for
their products or there would not be thousands of people involved with them.

My primary objection here is how incredibly rude you are while expressing your
opinions. People who disagree with you are not necessarily stupid or suckers.
You are not the reigning authority on internet business, none of us are. We are
a cooperative group who are supposed to be sharing information, not cutting each
other down.

I wonder if you have taken the long view of how your attitude affects others?
Who do you think will seek out or even take your advice after you have pretty
much let them know that you think they are an idiot? Isn't there a kinder or
more diplomatic way to say what is on your mind?

Hi All,

I have seen there are still some people who have problems with spam. I
have found that Mailwasher Pro works wonders for me. You can either get
the f^ree version that allows you one email address or the pro version that
allows an unlimited amount. My spam problems are gone thanks to this
program. 100% of spam gone!

Of course you do have to go to their spam filter site to get the
information to make this program work flawlessly, but a quick and simple
search on Google for "mailwasher spam filter" will give you the site
you're looking for.

This thing is a godsend and I sift through my mail only if I sign up for
something new or have placed an order online. Hope this helps someone.

Subject:New way to reach target leads

Almost every Internet Marketing expert will agree: the most powerful form
of marketing on the Internet is email marketing to a loyal list of
newsletter subscribers. The problem is, how do you get people to subscribe
to your newsletter?

Well, you'd have millions of customers and you wouldn't be spending a
single dime on advertising.

It's been predicted that those who do not build email lists now will not
be able to at the same rate in the future.  If you don't build your list
now, you will miss the boat.  The entire face of list-building will change
and tactics like this won't work anymore.

I understand this kind of practice of in your face, I won't leave until

at all appropriate in promoting a legitimate opportunity.  Any thought
that I might have had to return to that site at a later time for further

==============N e w P o s t i n g  (5)=============
From:Lainie Petersen
Subject:Listening To Them

Do you know how to listen to your prospects? Whether you are recruiting
people for your opportunity or selling them a product, if you don't listen
to your prospects they won't listen to you!

Several years ago, a guy was trying to pitch me on his opportunity. He
sounded intelligent and confident. At some point in the conversation he
asked what I did for a living. I told him, and also said that I loved what
I did. Not two minutes later, when I had made another reference to my job,
he said "Well, we will work to get you out of there as soon as possible."

Huh?

I had just told the guy that I loved my job, but he was so self-absorbed
that he completely ignored what I had to say. Instead, he decided to
project his own job dissatisfaction onto me, and in so doing, convinced me
that he really didn't care about me, he just wanted to sell me on his
opportunity. I got off the phone with him as quickly as possible and
passed on the opportunity.

Learning how to listen to people is crucial if you are every going to be
successful in your business. It is only when you listen that you are able
to meet your prospect's needs, including the needs that they may not
actually know that they have!

Now let's think about how this prospecting call could have gone
differently:

What if, when I said,  "I really love my job.", the prospector had said,
"Oh? That's great! Are you just interested in doing this for part-time
income, then?" ?

I could have replied that yes, I was looking for part-time income, but as
I was planning to go back to graduate school within the next few years, I
wanted to find a business that I could eventually do full time, so that I
wouldn't have to work an "outside" job while trying to study.  If he had
bothered to listen and to try and understand where I was coming from, he
might well have recruited me into his opportunity, and I might have been a
significant producer for him!

Next time you pick up the phone to call a prospect, consider this:  It isn
't your agenda, your dreams, or your goals that will persuade someone to
join your opportunity. It is your prospect's agenda, dreams, and goals
that will motivate them to take action. If you can show them that you
value what they desire for themselves, they will be far more likely to
respect your opportunity. Open your ears, mind, and heart, and listen to
your prospects, and they, in turn, will have good reason to listen to you.

Making Good Use of Flash: When You Should and Shouldn't Use It!
ByJosh Barinstein

If you are considering Flash for your Web site production,
there are reasons why you would and would not want to tap into
this great technology. Flash is everywhere these days, it is
true. However, as we've seen in the past, not every available
interactive tool should be used in every application! Here are
some questions to answer before diving in:

1. Is Flash going to help me in communicating with my
audience?

The first thing you need to decide is whether or not it makes
sense to use Flash. Will you be able to communicate better
with your audience in how you address their concerns? You need
to keep users' needs and perspective in mind at all times.

If Flash is going to annoy them, or otherwise get in the way of
you reaching them, then simply don't use it! However, for
subtle animations that help enhance the experience, or for
media-rich content, on the opposite end, Flash is an excellent
tool.

2. Will my audience have the plug-in?

Estimates say that up to 85% of users do have the Flash
plug-in, with browsers now shipping with it. That still leaves
15% without the plug-in, and those with an outdated version.
Unfortunately, many won't bother to fetch it in spite of a smart
site giving them the option.

Know your audience and if this will mean a loss of business for
you.

3. Is some additional download time acceptable?

Flash can be optimized, but some movies could potentially take
a bit of time to load. Will your audience commit to waiting?
Another important question to answer. Those on the slower
connections may not wait.

4. Am I trying to accomplish things that plain HTML can't?

One consideration to make is whether a static, HTML site will
do justice to your content. If your site needs to come to life
in some way because it will engage your audience better, then
Flash could be the answer.

5. Will I still have good exposure on the search engines if I
use Flash?

Doing too much in Flash will sacrifice exposure on the search
engines. In other words, the engines will not have enough text
on which to base their indexing. If access to your site through
the search engines is important to your success, be sure that
you don't overdo it on the Flash side.

6. Do I rely on non-vector graphics?

Non-vector graphics, such as photographs, are not easy for
Flash to process. This means that animations in Flash using
this type of imagery will get easily bogged down.

Another concern is that Flash does not cache (or store)
non-vector images, therefore they must be reloaded each time.
Not a pleasant thing for your visitors! This is in contrast to
HTML-based scenarios where the browser will cache the imagery
for instant retrieval.

As you can see, Flash is not always the right solution. This
is true of any aspect of Web development, where you need to
research your options carefully and choose the right
combination of tools that works best for you. If you seek
outside help, make sure you find a team with the right
expertise and a solid track record to back it up. Good luck!

=====================Joke of the Day   (1)===============

An older lady gets pulled over for speeding...
Older Woman: Is there a problem, Officer?

Officer: Ma'am, you were speeding.

Older Woman: Oh, I see.

Officer: Can I see your license please?

Older Woman: I'd give it to you but  I don't have one.

Officer: Don't have one?

Older Woman: Lost it, 4 years ago  for drunk driving.

Officer: I see...Can I see your vehicle registration papers please.

Older Woman: I can't do that.

Officer: Why not?

Older Woman: I stole this car.

Officer: Stole it?

Older Woman: Yes, and I killed and hacked up the owner.

Officer: You what?

Older Woman: His body parts are in plastic bags in the trunk if you want to see.
The Officer looks at the woman and slowly backs away to his car and calls for
back up. Within minutes 5 police cars circle the car. A senior officer  slowly
approaches the car, clasping his half! drawn gun.

Officer 2: Ma'am, could you step out of your vehicle please! The woman steps out
    of her vehicle.

Older woman:  Is there a problem sir?

Officer 2: One of my officers told me that you have stolen this car and murdered
    the owner.

Older Woman: Murdered the owner?

Officer 2: Yes, could you please open the trunk of your car, please.
The woman opens the trunk, revealing nothing but an empty trunk.

Officer 2: Is this your car, ma'am?

Older Woman: Yes, here are the registration papers. The officer is quite
    stunned.

Officer 2: One of my officers claims that you do not have a driving license.
The woman digs into her handbag and pulls out a clutch purse and hands it to the
    officer.
The officer examines the license. He looks quite puzzled.

Officer 2: Thank you ma'am, one of my officers told me you didn't have a
license, that you stole this  car, and that you murdered and hacked up the
    owner.

Older Woman: Bet the liar told you I was speeding, too.
