Joke of the Day

================== Word from Moderator ====================

Welcome to the 1,063 new subscribers since last week..

Another week gone by,

I think I am starting to get the hang of this. Scary, it's it..

Last week, I added a new sermon to my TGIF Marketing site called "The
Other Guy." And I thought it might be a good subject to discuss here in
the Digest.

The Other Guy in this business is not just the next person who buys from
you or joins the opportunity you are promoting. The Other Guy is, has to
be, your friend, your partner, your online neighbor, sister or bother.

If you are not going to think of the Other Guy, and only think of
yourself, then you are in the wrong business. Get out now and stop wasting
your time and money.

In this business, where we earn from several levels below us, even if it's
only one or two, we depend on the Other Guy who joins through us to be
successful. If they are not successful, they are not only wasting their
time, they are wasting ours.

If the Other Guy below us is not successful, we won't be either.

I want to see what you all think are the best ways to look out for the
"Other Guy" in this Business? What is the best way to follow up, train and
help them?

Until next week, have a Great Week and God Bless,

John Olson

From: Adrian Elman
Subject: William Jaroske & Melaleuca

Hi Bogdan,

I just want to compliment Neil Reinhardt on his post in
the last issue (# 394). Although William Jaroske may
not have taken to well to it Neil's comments were very
sound and logical.

In particular I liked his comment about pricing and wish
to add that markets are not determined by equal pricing.
Every product having competitors will have a broad
price range. You will find cheap and you will find medium
but you will also find expensive. This does not mean that
the latter is always a guarantee of higher quality but in
general the consumer thinks it does hence there will be
no shortage of high priced products vying for customers
who believe they are buying the best.

This is not a rip-off, it's purely marketing.

Take the automobile industry as an example. I can buy
a Ford for much less than I can buy a Mercedes. Both
are cars, both will take me and my family where we want
to go, and the Ford will consume less gas. Does that
make Mercedes a rip-off?

Not the same thing you argue. Mercedes is known to
be a much better quality vehicle. Ok, how about a Ford
Fiesta and a Volkswagen Polo? Like Melaleuca products
these 2 are after the same market and one is dearer
than its counterpart. Does that mean that the buyer of
the more expensive vehicle has been ripped-off?

Sony products are more expensive than the majority
of their competitors. Does that mean people should
steer clear of them?

People buy what they want to buy and more often than
not develop brand loyalty regardless of whether the
product they are purchasing is actually the best value
or not. Just as someone who has a Sony television
how many other Sony products he has in his home!

If someone buys a Melaleuca product and likes it then
it's highly likely he will buy others from their catalogue
and he could care less what he could buy cheaper at

William, take it from me ...don't do battle with Neil
because you will come off the worst. The man is no
fool and he is ready to prove that to you.

Adrian Elman

p.s. I am not now, nor have I ever been, affiliated
with Melaleuca. I do not buy their products either.
My comments were based on business rationale only.

From: Mireille Carrier
Subject: William Jaroske & Melaleuca

This will be my last post on this subject. I'm tired of explaining this
to people who know it all but are not Melaleuca customers... This is
getting ridiculous at best.

Neil, you do NOT have to buy Melaleuca products to resell to other
people. Some people might, the majority don't. You are just a CUSTOMER
with them. I believe that before I joined Melaleuca, they had the same
structure as other MLM companies and people were distributors.

I have been with them for nearly 2 years now and there is NO salesforce
per se, by that I mean NO distributors, you don't buy anything wholesale
for resell. Once people join Melaleuca, they become CUSTOMERS, and they
buy directly from the company, not from another Melaleuca customer.
They pay the company, and their order is shipped directly to them by the

Maybe you meant selling the opportunity? Yes of course, those who work
Melaleuca to make money have to "sell" the opportunity. I was talking
about a salesforce of distributors (after so many years in MLM, you do
know what a distributor is, I'm sure) which is nonexistent with
Melaleuca compared to other MLM. I don't know how much clearer I can make

Since I don't work Melaleuca as a business, I don't do anything with it
except buy the products because I'm just a happy customer. I don't "sell"
the opportunity, and I sure as hell don't resell their products to other
customers or anyone else for that matter. They can buy their own. The
company has many samples that you can buy to give away to people who
want to try the products. An extra tax deductible expense at the end of

As for their products, you're entirely right on that point. I couldn't
be happier with what I buy every month. I have no problems at all
exceeding my minimum order on a regular basis. I grab the catalog, pick up
the phone to order, and a few days later I'm like a kid in a candy store!
Products don't make me sick, they don't give me a rash, and they do what
they're supposed to do. Period.

We all make our choices from Avon to Herbalife to Melaleuca. Everybody
is not the same, we will react differently to different products. That's
why you check with your doctor before you take any vitamins or tablets.
Those Links William Jaroske posted are 1995/96 (which is an old formula
which they have improved). These complaints are from people who have
reported their stinging or reaction to the one product. The 2001 reports
are of the vitamin range which states their content & how it can help
the body. You always go to the doctor first than listen to an
Everybody buys & tries everything.

Also we are all different, Tea Tree oil can be toxic only if you are
allergic to it. But it's better than ammonia or phosphates that may
accidentally get into your child's hands.

I have a son & I know he gets into anything anytime. I have Mela
products in my home & my son hasn't had a return of eczema, my hands are
softer & I can clean around my son without him coughing or wheezing.

It's your choice to buy whatever you like, but if there is an alternative
we will try it. If it works great, if it doesn't we get our money back &
we are no worse off.

Yes William we would like the facts, but everybody is different.
If we start branding natural products as toxic, then other natural
products are toxic too, like eucalyptus oil, lavender oil, water
(chemicals people place in for water to last or break down bacteria),

I'm in no scam here, I invest my money in things I use. I think there
are more scams in the share-market, we risk our money to companies you
don't care about the little people.

our household.

From: Joseph Hinkle
Subject: Autoresponder Writing

Hello Joseph,

If you are dead serious in learning how to create killer
autoresponder messages that'll make your prospects drool
and salivate that they just can't wait to read your
next message, keep reading.

As English as my second language, it can be tough at
times but through sheer dogged determination, pain in
the butt persistence and hard work, it will pay off in
the long run. Here's my three step plan.

First, you want to download the best ebook on winning
autoresponder ever written called "Autoresponder Magic"
by Yanik Silver. Make sure you read it thoroughly from
beginning to end, word for word, paragraph by paragraph.

Second, you want to download as many free e-course as
possible. These ecourse varies from 5 day to 10 day
lessons delivered thru autoresponder covering various
topics. Go to and get their
10 day "Sponsoring Made Simple" e-course. I'm not
affiliated with that sites at all but I really like how
the e-course was written, it's good for beginners to
learn from. Find as many e-course from great copy
writers like Yanik Silver or Larry Dotson or Joe Vital.

Third, open that Notepad, WordPad or MS Word and create
a file by naming it "Autoresponder Swap File." As you
read those ebooks and e-courses you've downloaded, you
want to copy and paste ANY word or phrases that stands
out in your mind, to your note pad file or swap file.
For example, if you copy the phrase on my 1st paragraph
"make your prospects drool and salivate" and paste it
on your notepad swap file, then save it. It's that

Life is about opening your mind to learning new skills
and this method has worked for me in the past, even
today I still use this method. Not only it has improved
my English communication skills as well as my ad copy writing skills,
who knows it might work for you as well.

If you are interested in downloading any of the
materials that I have mentioned, please feel free to
email me, I'd love to hear from you.

Good luck,

Subject: John Olson (moderator)

Hi Bogdan,

I wish to congratulate John Olson on his taking up the
position as moderator of the Adland Digest. I believe
he will exercise his function to perfection.

John and I used to be sparring partners in the past. It
was the days when John believed in Going Platinum
and his belief was such that he defended the program

In issue # 394 Kindra Martinenko said "With MLM you
are trying to sell a dream. Selling dreams will only work
until the people buying the dreams wake up and smell
the coffee!" She was right on the money with that and
that's precisely what happened to John. Ever since he
came out of the proverbial MLM brainwash his feet
appear to have been firmly attached to 'terra firma' and
his writings do him credit.

To add to Kindra's comment I would like to point out
how accurate her statement was. Take a look at most
MLM opportunities and the first things you will see are
images of wads of cash, luxury cars, boats, homes,
and vacations. The bait used to sucker new recruits
is the high life which 99.9% will savor in image form

There is nothing wrong with having goals. Everyone
should make goals but despite what we are told by
the company, our uplines, and anyone else whose
check we are contributing to, our goals should be
realistic. That does not mean sell yourself short but
it does mean that your short and medium term goals
should not include any of these consumer luxuries.

Want a Rolex watch? Fine, but before you even aim
for something like that make sure you have this list
well taken care of first:

1. You have no debts,
2. The home is paid for and you no longer rent,
3. Putting food on the table is never a struggle,
4. You have at least one retirement fund that you
regularly contribute to.

That last one is more important than most could
ever imagine. When you are young you always
think that getting old is something that you can worry
about later ...and then you discover that 'later' crept
up on you much faster than you bargained for.

Look at the percentages most MLM's quote about
the finances of people over 65. If you don't want to
become just another statistic you have to act NOW!

Any opportunity that claims it is the solution to your
debts can safely be considered a scam. If you are
in debt you need a job, NOT a silly money game
that will only increase your current exposure.

I am not against MLM. I have made a lot of money
with it in the past, but not on the internet. I worked
it for the best part of 12 years and enjoyed plenty
of success but it took real hard work, traveling all
over Europe, staying in hotels and being put up by
members of my downline while creating meetings
and teaching my downline how to pack them out
and sell the products. Once a meeting ran nicely
I could leave it in the hands of the leader and move
on to working with the next one that wanted to
duplicate the system.

Note that we sold products and back-ended the
opportunity as a result of the people's belief in
the products they were consuming. NEVER did
we tout the money to be made first!

This is what MLM was supposed to be about
according to the law. I await the day when we hear
of a court trial over signing up people on the
basis of being placed in a matrix and having
others placed under them before they have to
spend any money on the company's products.

Well I have digressed somewhat but like John,
I too am fed-up with seeing scam after scam
educating people into thinking that the pyramid
selling laws don't apply to the internet.

Try this has an approach... HONESTY! There are ways to be honest and

Subject: Getting started

Does anyone have a suggestion for getting a lots of visitors to a web
site on a very limited budget? I know that there are thousands of "so
called" opportunities, but they all seem to have one thing in common "they
don't work.

I'm not looking for 1,000,000 visitors, I would rather have about 500 of
the right kind of visitors. I am looking for visitors who own
newsletter or ezines.

I am NOT looking for a free ride. I am willing to pay for ads, but I DO
want them to be effective.

I am not interested in getting a ton of SPAM as a result of placing ads.

I hope to geta response from REAL people who have gone through this, and
might have an answer, not someone who is just trying to sell me something.

Any information would be helpful.

Revealed - How To Create Your Next Unique Resell Rights
Products in as little as 30 minutes!

By Kim Thomas

The buzzword lately has been about creating and obtaining
resell rights products. The problem with this is once the
guru lets it out of the bag and you have a chance to react,
the idea has become so old that everyone and his brother
are already selling the resell rights products to their

The idea I am about to share with you is so unique and so
outrageous that you'll kick yourself in the b--- for not
acting on this sooner.

First let me ask you these questions:

Have you created any unique product and offered resell
rights lately?

Did these "resell" rights idea only involve a set of old
reports or ebooks, which you gave a facelift with new sales
letters and new ebook covers and called your own?

If so, listen closely...

I'll let you in on a closely guarded secret and based on
this one idea alone, even without reading anything else I
say today (provided that you act really fast since timing
is everything in this business), you will quickly become
one of few marketing elite's to keep churning out profitable
content with resell rights that will make your competitor's
heads spin with frustration and amazement!

No doubt about it -- I can assure you my idea is so hot and
so revolutionary that you will literally smile with great
happiness by the time you read all the way to the end of
this article.

What is a Resell Rights Product?

A product is said to have "Resell Rights" when you either
own the product or you repackage old resell rights products
into a new package. Lately a lot of marketers have bought
into this trend by giving old products facelifts by
creating new covers, new sales letters, etc. Soon enough,
that too is going to be old news since everybody is doing
the same thing.

So what you really want to do is to find a constant source
of fresh information and keep churning rich content
products of your own.

What is Common Problems Associated with Creating Your Own
Products to Sell On Line?

The first most common problem with creating your own
products is mostly in finding a new and fresh angle for
your product.

The second problem I see is that not all of us born to
write or at least we don't always perceive that we can

The third problem is that to continuously find fresh
angles, to provide answers and then to make them into an
ebook to sell is not something which you can honestly do in
as little as 30 minutes.

The fourth problem is finding a niche market you can
provide an answer to.

The Golden Rule of Internet Marketing!

If you asked any successful Internet Marketer what
attribute they think you must have in order to make a very
lucrative living on the Net, without a shadow of a doubt,
they will tell you that being "different" spells success or
failure when you sell on the NET.

Even if you are going to sell Lemonade, make it into a
sport - make it into something different than the next guy.
Even if you must paint your booth red and/or give away free
lemonade to attract potential customers, you'd be wise to
do it.

Never before in the history of Internet Marketing, has
being vanilla meant death to your career.

Case in point.

Have you ever received an endorsement email from someone
you trust.. only a few moments later to receive another
"exact" endorsement from someone else? How much credibility
and trust will you continue to give your "guru"? Not much
at all!

If you are going to write an endorsement to sell other
people's products, you always want to write it in your own
words - and just imagine this ... if you actually own the
products too, how much more money you will make by
continuously selling them to your list?

How Do You Produce "Fresh" Resell Rights Products Of Your
Own In As Little As 30 Minutes?

The answer to these challenging questions is simple -- use
the search engines to find all forums in your area of
expertise or interests then use the search feature within
those forums to request all entries made within a year or
so for that topic.

When the search result comes back, your only job is to
swipe all of these questions and answers onto your swipe
file then when you are done, you've already created the
next brand new product that everybody wants.

Marketers. Click here to learn more about this unique
