Welcome to the 774 new subscribers since last time.

Hello,

Well, here we are again. And I'm going to keep this short and only
ask one question and see where that leads us.

What mistakes have you made in marketing?

Just reply with "Mistakes" in the subject line.

Oh, and while I think about it, when you're replying to a post,
please use the "Subject" of the post you're replying to in the
subject line of your E-mail. It'll make putting this together easier.
Most of you do this already, thanks...

Hi Rose,

Yes, I'd be very interested in a banner or link exchange. Use the link
at my site to contact me with the details. And could you send me a link to
your site so I have an idea of what will fit in there?
Thanks so much for your interest!

Hi Morris,

Thanks for taking the time to review the program.
My understanding of the program is that everyone is entered into a
single line matrix and as people buy leads you advance to the top.
When on the top your money is doubled and depending on your
choice either get paid or you can re-invest (sales talk):) in more leads.
How can this be profitable for the company?

As I see it someone must get burnt.

Have Fun

Bryan McHeyzer

Subject: Affiliates beware the bait and switch

Hello Group,

I've had trouble finding an up to the minute honest affiliate program
that works. The ones that I signed up for like match.com, even
though I used a proxy to check to see if the clicks registered on their
website, it never ever had registered a click. I reloaded the webpage
also.

Anyone have an affiliate program that sells and has accurate stats?

Thanks,

Richard French

Subject: Viral Affiliate Programs?

Hi John,

I am in complete agreement with Morris Swinamer's
remarks.  I must have tried all the viral programs
on the Internet in the past 5, years but nothing has
worked todate so I made a conscious decision not to
chase behind Leads to get signups.  As I see it, it is
the way to make the Millionaire Gurus richer so I have
opted for programs that do not require 'me' to chase
after Leads to get signups to make Money.

I have found Cashits:
http://cashits.com/signup.php?ref=1032381 to be
the right kind of program and after one year I am (for the
first time) ahead of the game.

Frankly I do not agree with this statement: Geoff, you said it
yourself,

"It's the same old story -you gotta have the numbers and
work in the thousands to make the Net work!" Regardless
of the type of program, that part still remains.:)"

I have proved that statement to be incorrect ever since I joined
Cashits. Mind you, I am still trying to get Signups because I
can make more money but it is not absolutely necessary.
At 4% per day on Subscription it is entirely up to me to make
as much Money as I need.

Frankly, I think this business of List-building to get
Leads so that people can Sign on to one's Program is not
only FRUSTRATING but a waste of time and money.  I
remember having 3,000 Leads and only 54, Signups.  The
Matrix Program required 10,000 Signups to complete.

The truth is 99.99% of the people on the Internet are
looking for buyers, and trying to find people to buy into
your Program on the Internet is like trying to find
a Needle in a Haystack.

Good Luck to all those stout hearted men and women
who are trying to build Lists.

Regards,

Rudolph Burgzorg

From: Mike Sullivan
Subject: Hype and Hoopla

Greetings,

In follow up to the discussion on Hype and Hoopla type promotions, and
what is or is not hype, here is how I look at it.

Hype is used in almost all MLM type businesses, and in most direct sales
as well.  Why? Because it works, that's why.  People want to dream of
wealth and financial freedom, and if you simply hang up a sign with no
catchy attention getting copy, you will get zero response.

In MLMland, hype has been used since the beginning of the industry, and
sadly, it is usually based on income claims, and this is what I do not
agree with.  Money should not be the leading message, but usually is.
Sure, there are plenty of good products sold through MLM, but in almost
in every case, they will cost you more than through conventional stores or
online direct shopping for equal or even better products in many cases.

The old hype of getting a better price by cutting out the middle men was
the biggest hype of all for years and years, as it was rarely true.  In
fact, in most MLM's you are adding more middle men, not less as the hype
would lead you to believe.  The prices are usually higher for this very
reason.  The lure of hype in most MLM's had to be true, and then I have
no problem with using it.  Sadly, most of the time it isn't.

So to answer the question, what is hype, it is anything used which is
not true or possible.  Making thousands every month may be possible, but
it will take most a long long time.  Using a statement I often see about
making big money fast is bad hype, as it is not true.  Using the hype of
money is fine, as long as you state it will take most a year or longer
of commitment to program.  This is not hype in my opinion.

Then you have the problem with product hype, cures arthritis to cancer,
this too us hype which is not true, and I find it useless as it has been
overused and abused through the years.  If I see less hype, as in, could
help reduce cancer, or such, then I would respect the company more than
with all the hype claims used in the MLM health product industry.

Hype stinks if it is based on all lies.  Hype is a necessary ingredient
in all advertising if you want to attract attention.  The example given
with the 2X2 matrix is a good low key approach to try and get people over
the common hurdle of making zero for several months as with most company
plans.  I like the idea of low key conservative income claims, and if
you do get a person at break-even in less than three months, you have a
far better chance than by hyping that newbies will earn thousands in their
first month.  When you see this hype, run, it is never true.

I have seen them all, and I have always had the best success by getting
my recruits to a break-even point as quickly as possible.  Three months is
all you have, so if a program is not easy or designed to hit this
break-even quickly, attrition will kill you.  Your first goal must be to
cover your own product purchases, first and foremost for long term
success.  If everyone achieves this, then you have a chance for success.
Your
product or service must represent value or you will also likely fail, so
look past all the hype, and look at only programs that require little
effort to get to break-even, and look for products of value and you will
find success.

I specialize in programs which have all these right ingredients.  I feel
affordability factor is number one issue.  If you have a price point
under $15.00 per month, then you will see success.  Why, because it will
not take much effort to find others who can afford $15.00 per month vs.
$100.00 which so many use.  You must have a high quality product or
service which is worth price.  Combining these two ingredients will
allow more to succeed, and will provide long term success.  Below is a
perfect example of low cost high value program.

Good luck,

Mike Sullivan

How to get free traffic by giving away a free ebook
By Patric Chan 2004 Copy Right.

This may come as a surprise. Or not. Depending on
how much knowledge and experience you have
with internet marketing.

I'm sharing this tip with you because I have proof
of it's success. This strategy has been used for
ages by internet marketers. The strategy is to
offer freebies especially a free ebook to get traffic
to your site. I've been enjoying a healthy
amount of traffic each day with this strategy.

Here's an idea that I use. I have another webpage
that focuses on self improvement topics at
http://www.esuccessmastery.com/

Feel free to subscribe to that too if you have a
desire to improve your life through self improvement.

Ok. Let's go back to the strategy. I offer a free
ebook, Success Quotes from the webpage,
essuccessmastery.com. To date, I've received
thousands of downloads for the ebook and
generated traffic to esuccessmastery.com from
the link in that ebook.

Another successful free ebook that I've completed
recently is 'Best Articles Ever Written' that I've worked
on with 11 other successful marketers like Willie
Crawford, Steve Shaw, Harvey Segal, John Delavera
and so on. Visit
http://www.mymarketingtactics.com/bestarticles

What's weird is, there are so many people using this
strategy but have failed to achieve any successful
results. Why?

Here are 5 tips in order for you to achieve successful 'viral
marketing' by offering a free ebook:

1.Your ebook MUST be valuable

Here's a rule of thumb. Your ebook MUST have value to the
readers. That means there MUST be something they can learn
or gain from it. Common sense will tell you, if the book is
full of garbage, what makes them want to share it with their
friends?

Preferably, before you give away the book, think of this first
- If you sell it for any price, will there be a buyer? If your
answer is yes, you have a winner. :)

2. It MUST not be boring

This sounds almost the same as first tip. But it's
different. Sounds ironic right? Lol

Imagine this. It's free. Most likely, it's not appreciated as
much as a paid book. So, the way you write the ebook and
compile it, it MUST have a 'flow' to make it interesting
to read or it'll end up in the recycle bin.

3. Get other people to help by distributing it

If you want it to spread fast, you need other guys with big
lists to help you promote your free ebook. If you do it by
yourself, it's going to take a heck of a long period of time to
spread it unless you are like #1 in search engine ranking.
The best place to get the list of people who have existing
subscribers. You can use ezine directories.

4. There should not be too many affiliate links

If your links sincerely want to give the readers
convenience to find more information or resources, that
will be ok. But don't promote everything under the sun.
Too many affiliate links will turn off any readers as it
will look obvious you are trying to earn back end sales from
affiliate programs. Nobody likes to be sold to. :)

5. Make your book brandable

I don't think there is such word as brandable in the dictionary.
But brandable to my understanding means that the reader
can brand your ebook with their own name, url or affiliate
link in that ebook. THIS TIP IS THE MOST IMPORTANT. If you
download my ebook above, you'll see that I offer them the
ability to brand it with their own link. It just make sense right?

People will like to give away your ebook if they can also
get free traffic or back end sales.

You might already be giving away a free ebook at this moment.
But apply those 5 tips above, and your ebook will spread
like wildfire.

If you don't have a free ebook to give away, what are you
waiting for?

Warmest regards,
