Joke of the Day

Word from Moderator

This is the first issue of September, and you all know what "September" means, right?
When we were kids, it meant the start of a new school year - new books, pencils,
notebooks, new friends, new teachers. Whether you loved or dreaded September, it was
definitely a new start. Now that we are all grown up, the fall still brings the feeling of "a
new start" with it. The hot summer is over and its time to "get serious" and get back to
work. The winter holidays suddenly loom a lot closer than we thought and there is so much
work to be done before. before whatever. The next six months are the most profitable
ones in the year for everyone in the Northern hemisphere and we all want to take advantage
of it. So, for today, I will wish you all a "good new start" and all the success you deserve in
your endeavors.

Re: StoresOnline
From: Mireille Carrier

Hi Adele,

The funny thing is after I attended the SOL free luncheon and I looked them up online, I
thought pretty much the same thing.  I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.
After all, most people who fail to make money in ANY business online will call it a scam
and blame the whole world BUT themselves for their own failures, whether it really was a
scam or a legitimate business.  And people who actually work and teach themselves and
learn something will go on to make it on their own.  So I took a lot of the comments I found
about SOL with a grain of salt.

Ex-members of an opportunity are not always the best people to listen to when doing due
diligence, you really need to read between the lines about everything and do a little more
research before you make up your mind.
I've seen enough lazy affiliate program junkies on the internet to last me a lifetime who
blamed the whole world for not making money, made up horror stories about the company
and/or products, and posted their crap everywhere online, but somehow they forgot to
mention the fact that THEY never lifted a finger to do anything!  So always be careful
when you're reading comments from ex-members.  What you read is not always the way it
really happened.

Then I found more stuff on SOL.  The fact they had been banned from operating in one of
the US states was not to be ignored, and that was an official legal document.  The more I
was digging for info, the more dirt seemed to come out.  I didn't find a single positive
comment about them.
That's not good.  Normally it's at least somewhat divided between good and bad.  But not
with SOL, it was all bad.

Then after attending their full day seminar, ok 1/2 day because we didn't stay for the whole
thing, I had just about enough.

Their prices are OUTREAGEOUS to say the least.  They DO mislead people, A LOT,
about how to make money online. It's NOT easy, it DOES take work, it DOES take time.
But not according to SOL. Their SEO method, because they only had ONE, involved using
the free Overture tool to find keywords.  Who in their right mind optimizes a website based
on Overture??

If their prices weren't so high, if they didn't put so much emphasis on selling their stuff and
actually spent time to help people succeed, they would have a much better product to sell
and then the websites might be worth the price.  People would walk away with
KNOWLEDGE, and would understand how to maintain and improve the website. You
know the saying - give a man a fish and you feed him for one day;  but teach him how to
fish and he'll feed himself for a lifetime - really applies here.

People who sign up with SOL are most likely people who know absolutely nothing about
the internet or how to make a website. It really sounds great, they do all the work, they
make the website and host it, optimize it, and all you need to do is pay them for the work
and then cash all the cheques that will be coming your way later.

Yeah, right!

And then people wonder why it's not working... or why they didn't make money.  They turn
around and call it a scam because of it.  Who's right and who's wrong?   They put all the
blame on SOL because THEY were supposed to make money for them!  Come on, get real
already... if they could do this and make so much money, why in the world would they sell
YOU the website?  Heck I would keep it for myself and rank in all the cash!
Wouldn't you??

If it sounds too good to be true, IT IS!!

I think SOL is an outright scam because they take advantage of people who don't know any
better and don't do anything to help them succeed.  They make the website, take the cash to
the bank, and hand you your website... here, go cash your commission cheques now.  LOL
Their presentation is not good, it's FANTASTIC, the speakers are VERY GOOD at what
they do, they are MASTER salesmen!

Always remember...  "The most successful con artist will have you believing he is the most
ethical person you will ever know."

There is no free lunch on the internet, you don't work, you don't make money. Tired of
getting scammed? Learn everything you need to know BEFORE you start!

Re: Help Please
From: Cathy Wagner

Hi Alexandria,
It is difficult to make specific recommendations based on your short note.
My first thought is to tell you to get educated. Sending ads without really knowing what
you are doing is a sure way to get into trouble for SPAMMING. Find a free online business
information site and start reading. (I offer a free membership at my site, it can help you get
Next, if you send out an ad and get absolutely no response, your problem is most likely
your ad copy. Don't make the common mistake of using your company name for your
headline. You need a compelling attention grabber and the best way to write one is to focus
on the benefits of your offer.
For example, if you are selling health and wellness products, use an ad that says something
like "Look Great!" or "Feel More Energetic!" to tell people what they will get out of your
offer. Be creative and try to come up with something that many people are looking for.
Next, I always recommend that you test ad copy with free advertising resources first to
avoid paying for ads that are less than effective. You must keep track of your results and
continue to tweak your copy until it produces the desired results.
I hope this helps and if you have more questions, please feel free to contact me. You'll find
my email address on my site (below.)

FFA pages are used to collect email addresses.
Safelist suggest you open a bulk delete account.
Traffic exchanges exchange traffic (dead hits).

Do Do's:
Submit and test using free ads in ezines.
Buy ad space in ezines that go to your market.
Build an opt in email list.

The best way to judge a program is to look at what you do, odds are everybody else is doing

William Hathaway,

On the topic of juiceboosted. The technical claims made seem quite over the top and the
pitch sounds fishy to me. And the increase your dialup speed 5 times the speed for free
appears to use outdated technology.

I don't know if many people will be using dialup in the future since we have Wi Fi and
cable modems coming on to the scene.

About earning $0.01 for every click with as an opportunity, it doesn't seem very
valuable to me.

Re: "Planning" by John Robertson
From: Kindra Martinenko

I thought John Robertson's guest article about "Planning" a decision was very useful and
should be considered by anyone who truly wants to succeed with ANY business, on or off
the Internet.

However, do not fall into the all to common pitfall of Planning, which is that Planning
provides a safety net and a cop-out for achieving RESULTS, which is the reward for
coming to a decision.  While it is important to clearly define the path for which you want
your business to take, do not become overly comfortable with planning everything
completely before taking action.  I say this from experience because I work with
Community Development planners and all they do is develop plans for great results, but
never get the results of what they plan!  They become so infatuated with the process of
planning itself, rather than what the overall outcome of that planning should be.  Pretty
soon, pessimism, despair, and the lack of motivation to move forward will seep into your
consciousness, and eventually the consciousness of your business.

It is important then, to really take John's advice in spending no more than 20% of your time
planning.  Planning is fun because you get to see your goals on paper, but soon it may end
up eating up 50% of your time, for which you could be spending on actualizing your goals.
My best advice would be to take each of your goals and break each goal down into steps.
Accomplish baby steps toward accomplishing each goal.   By doing this, you will ensure
that your are planning to move forward, rather than planning to fall behind.

RE: 11 FREE Ways How To Explode Your Website Traffic Hit Counter
From: William Jaroske

Robert Lee Said

"Out of the 11 free ways attested to in the article's title, several were not free, the search
engine submission was not properly explained and the leads generation system is a poor
choice for most people."

"Here are some starters for you:
1. Write an article for your local free newspaper about your online business. These types of
publications are always looking for stories featuring local people being successful. And
being an "online entrepreneur" still attracts attention by the media.
2. Create a content-rich website using your own articles and submit them to websites that
are similar to yours for publication. Everyone loves free content to publish and your own
byline can be a great source of traffic.
Alternatively, look for reprint rights on related articles for your own website to add content
to your own site.
3. Offer things to do on your website that are related to your product, service, or are just
great fun. Games, puzzles, picture captioning, jokes and comic strips to name a few things.
And have a "refer-a-friend" link on those pages so they will work as your own viral
marketing system.
4. Print out your own business cards and leave them on bulletin boards in local stores."
End quote

Robert, you apparently left a few things out. Might I add them on?

5. Website forums should not be blatantly used to spam them with your offer. However,
they offer users the exchange of tips and advice. Forums allow you to add a signature to
your posts on the forums.

6. Word of mouth. This is most effective advertising

7. Use the Adlandpro community.

Saying Hi
From: Kevin Bowman

Hi, All I've been looking for a good honest business to join and promote.
There is a lot to look at on the web. I have joined one but I really not sure that this one is it.
It seems all so confusing at this time. Can anyone help or have any suggestions as to the
best way to go time wise?
Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks Kevin Bowman

From: Gary Pape

Hi All,
My first post, so I hope I'm in line.  I thought of mentioning my Business, but since ads
can't go here, I won't.  My thought is that this seems like a good place to drop a hint of our
businesses.  With all the emails that we get after an email session, I wonder if we are
missing some good programs, products or businesses.  We all have a business or we
wouldn't be here.  If some thing comes along and we overlook it, it is both our losses.  I just
thought this might be a good place to bring it up and see what others thought and maybe
someone could come up with an idea that would benefit everyone.

This really is not a suggestion or a question to all of the community but a Thank you.
Some people don't believe in that nowadays but a Simple thank you goes a long way.
I have been in a lot of other communities where a lot of the people there were all about

"goodbye Yazi". Well to those that bought my services or helped my out in any of the
questions I have had...
I say "Thank you."

----------------------------GUEST ARTICLE --------------------------

Personal Excellence Mentor and Pioneer Brainwave Researcher
2004 All Rights Reserved.

Just last week one of the entrepreneurs I'm working with on a personal basis asked me why
he could "never seem to get ahead financially."

"I've done everything all the self-help books tell me to do," Edward explained. "I've set
goals, I've visualized, I've gone to one seminar after another . but I still can't seem to get
any more money in my life."

"Tell me," I asked, "Why do you have such a problem with money?"

"Don't know," he replied.

"OK," I continued. "Tell me what you BELIEVE to be true about having more money in
your life."

Here's his list of beliefs about having more money in his life:

I just can't seem to make any more money

I've hit my peak financially

It's hard to make money

The rich get richer.and the poor get poorer

I really CAN get along OK without more money

The IRS will just take it anyway

I don't want to sell my soul

Many people will agree with his list.

So what's wrong here?

Edward (not his real name) says he wants more money in his life. He keeps on taking
actions intended to create more money. But each attempt just falls flat -- one after the other.

This has gone on for years. In fact, Edward has spent more money "trying to make money"
that he has earned.

So where has he gone wrong?

Edward's internal *beliefs* about money are "running the show." And his beliefs do NOT
support his desire for more money in his life.

In fact, his beliefs actually negate his desires.

** How Beliefs Run Our Lives
You have a set of beliefs and assumptions for every area of your life: From money ... to
success, relationships, body image, you name it.

And most of these beliefs go way back into your childhood.

"So what?" you ask.

The very nature of our beliefs is that we do truly BELIEVE them to be true.

In fact, we automatically assume they're true without even thinking about it. That's the
nature of a "belief."

Edward revealed that he BELIEVES he would have to "sell his soul" to get more money in
his life, and the "IRS would just take it anyway." And he also believes he has "hit his peak
financially" . and "really CAN get along without more money."

Does that sound like a set of beliefs that would support a desire to have more money in
one's life?

Have you examined your subconscious beliefs about what you "say" YOU want to create in
YOUR life?

** The Power of Our Beliefs

It's a funny thing about beliefs. Most of us are willing to scrutinize all aspects of ourselves -
- but we usually get super defensive if someone (even our self) questions our beliefs.

Because we assume our beliefs are "beyond question." So they remain unquestioned and
usually just run right over any goal that goes against them.

Edward's financial goals definitely fly in the face of his beliefs. And in fact, he had
unwittingly used his beliefs against himself for years.

Once we pulled Edward's beliefs out into the daylight of his rational conscious mind, they
lost a good deal of their power. And now a whole new thing is happening.

He began to seriously use visualization and subliminal programming to FIRST renovate his
beliefs about money. And guess what -- he is now making previously "impossible" financial

** Neuroscience in Action

I discovered the science behind how a thought can overcome a belief when I first began to
use biofeedback in a clinical environment.

I especially recall the wife of a prominent local surgeon. She came to me hoping
biofeedback would provide some relief from her crippling back pain.

Mrs. Robins (not her real name) had been in an especially nasty high speed car crash three
years earlier. She had wrenched her back, but miraculously not broken any bones.

But her back pain had never healed. She hobbled into the clinic leaning heavily on a cane.
Her husband was recommending surgery, and she was only "trying" biofeedback on a

In the first session we discovered her "belief" that she would never heal from the trauma
(her best friend had died in the crash.)

I attached sensors to her back, and we both observed the muscle-related emg spikes when
she painfully attempted to move her legs.

So I then hooked up sensors to her arm, and had her first tense and then relax her muscles.
She clearly saw and understood the difference between relaxed and tensed on the computer

Then I suggested that her back pain "might" be muscle bracing that had become a chronic
habit -- and proposed an experiment in which she would just *think* about allowing her
back to relax.

We placed sensors on her back again and I turned the screen away from her as she began to
"think" about allowing her back to relax.

Sure enough, the spikes reduced dramatically. When I rotated the screen so she could see it,
her jaw dropped.

The power of her thoughts HAD immediately reduced the muscle spasms in her back.

I asked her how her back felt. She was even more amazed. It had begun to warm as her
circulation was beginning to be restored.

After only three biofeedback sessions, she was able to release her muscle spasms with a
single thought. And a few weeks later the cane was gone. She considered herself totally

Actually -- what had happened is that she cured herself from a crippling belief ("I don't
think I'll ever heal") with a single powerful THOUGHT ("It's OK to relax the muscle
spasms in my back.")

Old beliefs CAN be replaced with success-affirming positive thoughts.

** Putting This to Work

But replacing those old beliefs will require dealing with the ANTs (Automatic Negative
Thoughts) that are attached to those beliefs.

If you do have limiting beliefs, those ANTs will constantly reinforce that belief. The only
way to stomp ANTs is to create new positive beliefs to replace the old negatives!

It does NOT matter if you believe these new positive beliefs at first.

Go ahead and read that sentence again!

Your mind is a creature of habit.

The more often you consciously focus on your new positive beliefs, the faster they will be
taken into your subconscious mind and replace your old limiting beliefs!

Do a mental house-cleaning and get rid of those ANTs!

All you have to lose are your old limitations!
