Importance of being associated with "Good People".
--------------------------------------------------
The reason I wrote this little article, has to do with recent development and
things
I'm experiencing around my life and business.
At some point I have discovered, that one of the most important factors in
achieving
success, is being able to identify people who can help you with it.
I call them "Good People".
In addition to this, those who will help you, will benefit as well by being
associated
with another successful person.
Success creates more success. Happiness creates more happiness.
Couple months ago I have asked Amalia to help me with Adland digest because I
was overworked. She agreed even though this was the time when she was leaving
for
her two week holiday. She has put her first Adland Digest while being on
holiday.
Since than, she has consistently produced one digest issue after another week by
week. Never late. She has put a lot of effort to make the digest interesting
and to
stimulate new discussions.
I would like to congratulate you Amalia for being such a good moderator and
Adland
Digest editor. And thank you for helping me so I can concentrate on other
aspects of
Adlandpro.

Word from Moderator
------------------------------
I am still blushing at Bogdan's good words above. Not trying to be modest, but I
have really enjoyed moderating the Digest and getting to know so many of you
better. I felt honored when I was asked to moderate and I still feel honored -
the
Digest is probably the best publication of its kind on the net. Not many e-zines
or
Newsletters are member-driven. This one IS, and this is what attracted me most
to
the Digest when I first started reading it and what kept me reading it every
week. I
am absolutely thrilled when I receive posts from you guys - good, well thought
out
posts, questions that will help you and others, requests... it's GREAT!
O.K., I will admit that I do NOT appreciate receiving your ads. Yes, some of you
DO
try sending ads via the Digest comments area, and some of you DO persist on
posting ads to the Digest Forum, even though it is clearly stated that ads are
not
welcome.
Let me tell you eager-beavers something. No one reads your ads when you post
them
to the Digest comments area but me - and I make it a point to delete them. The
Digest Forum is for helping each other, not for posting ads. When you post an ad
there, you only aggravate people; you will not make them customers.
Of course, you want to let people know about your offer. I want people to know
about my offers too. Can you imagine what would happen if I used this column to
post my ads instead of trying to think of something somewhat mildly interesting
to
say? I can. The Digest would be left with ZERO members!
Be creative, folks! Send us a letter on something interesting and place your ad
in
your signature box. Get a conversation going; let people know who you are. I bet
you
are NOT just the company you represent!
Sorry for the rant. most of you are great members and provide fantastic material
for
this Digest. I have learned a lot from you in the past and I will continue
learning in
the future.

Re: Mentors in Motion
From: Mary Rita Earle
I have one question for William Jaroske who has bashed Val Smythe and Mentors in
Motion in this publication. Have you even attended the seminar? I have and I
found
it both helpful and enlightening.
The idea behind any educational pursuit is to glean the gems from the dross and
form
your own opinions and ideas as a thinking human being.
As far as being overpriced, education is beyond price and while I do not totally
agree
with everything that Val teaches and his approach is not for everyone, the
seminar
itself does have value as does the business opportunity attached to it.
As for hype, there is not a program or opportunity out here that does not have
some
measure of hype attached to it, even yours I would venture to guess.
All the best,
Rita Earle

Re: Safelists -Disheartening Results
From: Rebecca Beasley
I too am a safelist owner and I've found that even free offers often get passed
by if
you don't have a good enough subject line or if you're using the same old
prewritten
ads that come in the sites you're promoting. I never use them. I write my own
because I have a lot more options that way.
Also if you're a free member you can only post once every 5-7 days in most
lists, so
it's a good idea if you can to either sign up for enough lists to get your ad
seen
several times a day or upgrade to the highest level in a few lists so you can
email at
least twice a day. A lot of list owners will give you a free upgrade if you just
ask for
it and promise to promote their list. I'll even pay free members to refer free
members.
(Don't tell everyone)
And if you REALLY want to get your ads noticed, try owning your own safelist.
Then you're guaranteed that at least some of the member will read your
ads...especially if you give them a reason to open them.
I send out a special question once a week. Nothing difficult, just something
like
"who was your favorite teacher and why?" And in return for their response, I'll
give
them a free top ad for a week or some kind of helpful software or ebook. Just a
little
token of my appreciation.
My advice is instead of griping about not getting response, ask yourself this
one
question. Would I want to open this if I were the one seeing it in my email
list? If the
answer is no, then you know why you're not getting response.
The main thing I always preach about safelists and marketing in general is "Do
unto
others as you would have others do unto you." If you want response, BE
RESPONSIVE.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Don't even THINK about doing ANY KIND OF EMAIL MARKETING UNTIL
YOU READ THIS!

Wise Marketers Aren't Pushy
From: Rebecca Beasley
If you know you have a good product or service you don't have to be pushy to get
exposure to it.
I hate it when I'm pulled into a chat conference or signed up to something
without
my permission and so does everyone else I know.
So why would anyone think it's smart to add everyone on their buddy list to a
conference chat on instant messenger and just push the button to pull them into
a
chat? Or what good is it going to do your business to use misleading subject
lines in
your e-mails just to get people to open them only to get royally pissed off when
they
discover that it was a trick?
Like DUH PEOPLE! When you use dishonest tactics you're only HURTING your
business. You're not helping anyone!
If you have a great product or a great business opportunity or a great service
to offer,
for god's sake don't use these dumb practices to try to get people to fall into
a trap.
You're just wasting their time and yours.
Do business honestly and use the golden rule. Cater to the needs and wants of
the
people you serve and give them service that makes them want to use your products
again and again! That's what will make your name be a nice word in their mouth.
Treat people how you want them to treat you!
That's the only way to do business!
Is anyone else starting to get tired of all the gurus out there who use all
these snake
charming tactics to drag in members and try to force them to buy stuff they
don't
need? I would love to hear from you.
I'm gonna start a site for all the complaints over these guys. Do you want to be
a part
of it?
Contact me. I'll work with you and we'll start sending these idiots out of
town...
tarred and feathered for all the world to see!

Rebecca Beasley

Can YOU Earn HIGHER Returns On YOUR Fixed Bank Accounts?
From: Rudolph Burgzorg
Hello Digest Readers,
I have been asked this question many times, so I thought it best to explain it
in this
short note.
It is a known fact that the average person is not "privy" to returns on
investments in
"higher circles"! When your bank, insurance company and governments make their
money, they make huge profits on your cash and investment.
Let's use your bank as an example...
You place $1,000 in an investment account fixed for a year. Rates vary from bank
to
bank and country to country, so we will use 12% per annum as an example. Your
money after a year, with monthly interest compounded, will return you around
$1,126 only.
The bank takes your cash and invests it in an international portfolio where they
get
say 25% compounded. What do they get back? On your $1,000 alone, they will
return a total amount of $14,550. There is a massive difference $14,550 - your
lousy
$126 = $14,424 their profit!
So how do "they" return such high profits?
Without saying too much and getting involved in what countries "allow"
citizens to do, let's just say that there are various ways. The more money you
have,
the higher return on investment you can get. Especially if you are privy to what
is
going on and use experts in the fields of stocks, forex, gold, hedge funds,
private
placements, spot trades.... the list can go on. Hedge funds as an example - the
US
does not allow its citizens to use this powerful investment vehicle... why!?
It is not uncommon for returns of 300% - 400% to be made in days or weeks!
But, you need the cash and you need to have the right people in the right place
and
time to affect a trade like this.
I take a simpler approach. I invest in a number of ways where I can gauge my
return
in a safer environment. Monthly profits as displayed on Reality Millions, falls
into
the "lower" category when we look at international markets and their returns,
yet for
the average guy it seems impossible...
it ain't!!
During 2003, I witnessed a very good friend of mine turn $1 million into just
over
$3,6 million in 4 days; using the gold index... at the time, there were no big
shakes in
the market, and it was considered stable - yet he could turn it around and make
this
huge profit!
This is when I realized that although I do not have the expertise, I could use
people
like him to make my own cash work for me! This is the way you can approach
Reality Millions - let your money work, it can make more than you can, doing
what
you are currently doing!
I trust this information makes some sense...

Recovering Email Publishers Do Ads-On-Q
Posted: 10-12-2004 02:56 PM
By Trina L.C. Schiller
It is no secret that email publishing is becoming more and more difficult every
day.
With all of the new SPAM legislation, filtering systems, and mailbox
competition, an
ezine publisher has less than a 50% chance of getting their information to the
desktops of readers. That is not a very good return for all of the work involved
in
bringing that publication into being.
This is why the introduction of RSS technology, blogging, and channel feed
publishing has become a hot topic. Publishers using this technology, no longer
have
to concern themselves with filter busting, over crowded inboxes, or the issue of
SPAM. Channel publishing is a method of bringing information to the desktops of
readers, directly. It is a non-email based communication avenue, by which
publishers
can be read, and subscribers have 100% control over their subscriptions.
Channel publishing also offers the benefit of article syndication, which as we
all
know, is how print writers make their money, syndicating their articles to
newspapers and magazines.
A select group of ezine publishers, who have moved their distribution system
over to
the channel publishing system at Quikonnex.com, have taken channel publishing
and
the syndication of those channels to a new level.
Presenting the marriage of channel syndication and advertising! They have
dedicated
a syndicated channel to the publishing of advertisements, written in an
informational
article format, to offer marketers the opportunity to share their information
with the
world, without the hassles of email, or the restrictions of the typical five
line ad.
Advertisements written as articles, provide the reader with more information,
and
provide search engine spiders something to feed upon. Both are great benefits to
the
advertiser, but it gets even better.
With syndicated channel publishing, advertisements become a permanent presence
on the web. Once published, it remains available to the public permanently. It
can be
bookmarked for future reference, by the reader. It is searchable, able to be
picked up
by search engines, targeting the traffic it receives.
The fact that these advertisements are syndicated gives them unlimited exposure
and
power. Advertisers have their headlines on web sites all over the Internet.
Channel advertising is the solution to email marketing that everyone has been
waiting for.

Want to Keep Customers & Create Profits? These 5 'Positivity Pointers' Can Help
You Enhance Your Customer Experience, By JoAnna Brandi
==========================================================
There's no doubt about it; customer loyalty is key to profitability. A mere five
percent increase in your customer retention could as much as double your bottom
line profits! On the flip side, it costs anywhere from 6-30 times more to get
new
customers than it does to keep the ones you have - that is, if they'll stay!
The key to customer loyalty? Creating consistently positive experiences time and
time again. That involves knowing your customer's expectations, delivering
service
basics brilliantly, and maintaining an upbeat, can-do positive attitude
throughout
every interaction and at each touch point. Here are 5 'positivity pointers' to
keep in
mind so you can reap the rewards of creating more awesome experiences for your
customers, co-workers and yourself:
1. Positive thinking is a habit.
Some people are born with a positive outlook; others have to work hard at
shifting
their focus away from depressing media stories and from the things that are
going
wrong in their own lives. The great news for those born 'attitude-challenged'
is: You
can prevent yourself from being tossed about by the winds of worry and
negativity
by making positive thinking one of your good habits - it's just like exercise
and
eating right!
2. Positive thinking is a choice.
As with the creation of any new habits, the first step is to choose to do it, to
commit
to and intend to be positive. At first, learning what keeps you in a positive
state of
mind and remembering to make time to use those tools can be challenging -
especially when you're focused on professional or personal goals that require a
lot of
your time and energy. Sometimes it's actually easier to stay stuck in a negative
place
than to break the cycle, brush yourself off, take a breather and consciously
change
your state of mind. That's because we all love our comfort zones, even if
they're bad
for us!
Think back to past commitments you have made and kept to yourself. Think about
what motivated you and sustained you as you reached your goals. Can you apply
some of your strategies and techniques to becoming a positive thinker? Then
think
about what you need to do to remind yourself to do frequent attitude checks and,
if
necessary, adjustments. Would Post-it notes help? A timer that goes off every
half
hour? A daily phone call from a supportive buddy? The extensive pay-offs of
positive thinking (which you're about to get a peek at) are worth these efforts.
3. A Positive Attitude makes change easier to take.
Change happens all the time in every aspect of life - and it's happening
especially
fast in today's business world. If we don't keep up, we fall behind - and no
business
today has that luxury.
Some changes feel welcome and comfortable; others elicit resistance as they push
us
out of our comfort zones. The fact is, retaining a positive attitude about
change
makes it much easier to flow into. Example: Think back to when the Internet
began
to catch on as a 'must have' form of communication. Those who embraced the
technology, or who were at least positive about it, had a much easier time
adjusting
than those who resisted. They unlearned their old habits and learned new ones
more
quickly, and benefited from the changes earlier than later.
To stay positive during times of change, remind yourself of past changes in your
life
that pushed you out of your comfort zone and into an even better situation than
you'd
imagined. Remain open to the idea that change can continue to create all-new
possibilities and opportunities. Think about how your self-esteem and self-
confidence have grown every time you've risen to whatever changes a challenging
situation called for. Just thinking back to those moments can make you feel
great!
4. Positive thinking is chock-full of benefits!
Optimistic people - people who believe the world is inherently 'good' - are
healthier
than pessimists. Let's count the ways:
They have higher energy levels, stronger immune systems and, no surprise, tend
to
live longer.
Their optimistic viewpoint stimulates fresh and creative thinking - it gives the
brain
the go ahead to stretch and to play with different solutions and options.
They may feel the fear of change or of trying something new, but they have more
energy to act despite the fear. You might say they have more courage!
Their faith in themselves enables them to more quickly learn from their
mistakes.
They interpret problems as challenges - not obstacles. That means they
experience
less distress and more easily access the emotional boost they need to get
through
tough times.
Clearly, we can alter and enhance our lives by altering our attitudes. Positive
or
negative, it's a choice. Choose the rose-colored glasses, the ones that brighten
up the
view!
5. No one likes you when you're grumpy.
Sure the people who love you still love you even when you go through a grumpy
spell. But that doesn't mean anyone likes you while you're in a foul state of
mind.
Customers don't like a grump, co-workers don't like a grump, bosses don't like a
grump. nobody likes a grump!
Positive, life-affirming, optimistic people attract goodness to their lives.
They attract
positive people and circumstances, and they achieve great results. And why
wouldn't
they? They're a joy to interact with! Whether they're waiting on your table,
checking
you in at the hotel, repairing your computer, writing you a check for your new
mortgage, selling you a new network or solving a billing problem at your credit
card
company, they can make a genuine difference in the quality of your life in that
moment if they treat you with a positive, up-beat and can-do attitude. And you
can
do the same for your customers. It's so much easier to keep customers and create
profits when you give your attitude some altitude!

-----------------JOKE OF THE DAY-------------------
Real Stories of the Non-Technical
I called a company and asked to speak to Bob. The person who answered said, "Bob
is on vacation. Would you like to hold?"
I worked with an individual who plugged their power strip back into itself and
for the
life of them could not understand why their computer would not turn on.
"Do you know anything about this fax-machine?"
"A little. What's wrong?"
"Well, I sent a fax, and the recipient called back to say all she received was a
cover-
sheet and a blank page. I tried it again, and the same thing happened."
"How did you load the sheet?"
"It's a pretty sensitive memo, and I didn't want anyone else to read it by
accident. So
I folded it so only the recipient could open it and read it."
I recently saw a distraught young lady weeping beside her car. "Do you need some
help?" I asked.
"I knew I should have replaced the battery in this remote control door unlocker.
Now
I can't get into my car. Do you think that store would have a battery for this?"
"Hmmm, I dunno. Do you have an alarm, too?" I asked.
"No, just this remote," she answered, handing it and the car keys to me.
As I took the keys and manually unlocked the door, I said, "Why don't you drive
over there and check about the batteries? It's a long walk."
Tech Support: What does the screen say now?
Caller: It says 'Hit ENTER when ready.'
Tech Support: Well?
Caller: How do I know when it's ready?
A man moved to New Mexico and called his credit company to change his address.
When he told the girl where he was moving, she told him that she couldn't help
him
since they didn't issue cards outside of the United States!
My friend called his car insurance company to tell them to change his address
from
Texas to Vermont. The woman who took the call asked where Vermont was. As he
tried to explain, she interrupted and said, "Look, I'm not stupid or anything,
but what
state is it in?"
Several years ago, we had an intern who was none too swift. One day, he was
typing
and turned to a secretary and said, "I'm almost out of typing paper. What do I
do?"
"Just use copier machine paper," she told him.
With that, the intern took his last remaining blank piece of paper, put it on
the
photocopier and proceeded to make five blank copies.
One of our servers crashed. I was watching our new system administrator trying
to
restore it. He inserted a CD and needed to type a path name to a directory named
"i386."
He started to type it and paused, asking me, "Where's the key for that line
thing?"
I asked what he was talking about, and he said, "You know, that one that looks
like
an upside-down exclamation mark."
I replied, "You mean the letter 'i'?"
And he said, "Yeah, that's it!"
I was in a car dealership a while ago when a large motor home was towed into the
garage. The front of the vehicle was in dire need of repair and the whole thing
generally looked like it had been an extra in "Twister." I asked the manager
what had
happened. He told me that the driver had set the cruise control, and then went
in back
to make a sandwich.
