What is your #1 priority in your business right now?
=====================================

Each one of us is at a different place in our online business development. Some are
still trying to figure out “the ropes”… Others are busy creating a website… Still
others have already “made it” and are concentrating on making better contacts and
gaining more customers. I was wondering… what stage are YOU in and what is the
most serious problem or obstacle you are facing?

Hi Amalia,

I'll K.I.S.S.

The Internet means to me - freedom! I am free to be me, free to create,
free to learn, free to not work for someone else, free to come and go
as I please, free to not have to punch a time clock or report in, free.....

Oh, BTW you might want to check yourself here. Before you asked this
question you had a headline. It said -

That's funny and I'm laffin' !!!!!

Good to see Robert Lee back.

Have a great day,

MODERATOR: Hey, Mark… my Word dictionary defines “titbit” as: morsel, treat,
delicacy, scrap, crumb, etc. I always thought it was “tidbit” but Word underlines it in
RED when I use it. Perhaps it is because I’m using a U.K. dictionary? Since I’m not
a native English speaker, perhaps there should be a U.S. – U.K. debate about it!

Re: Where Do We Begin To Clean Up The Internet? Hit the nail on the head.
From: Ervin Hoath

I read Rudolph’s article in the digest and boy you hit it right on. I couldn't agree
more. People who don't do there due diligence are the ones getting trapped in the
scams. There are times when even with due diligence you can get caught but usually
you find out fairly quick and get out before you lose your shirt.

Thanks for a great post Rudolph it was a very good read.

Re: Where Do We Begin To Clean Up The Internet?
From: Amalia Sotiriadou

Hi Rudolph! I liked reading your post in the last issue and I thought I’d abuse my
moderator’s privilege a bit and respond to you too.
You know, it’s easy to say that people should change their attitude and that would
make everything all right – the problem is that attitudes don’t change that easily. The
Internet is simply a reflection of society, and in this case, global society. It contains
many of society’s virtues and many of its faults. Diogenes spent his entire life living
in a barrel carrying a lamp. When they asked him “why do you live in a barrel and
carry a lamp?” he responded that he was looking for one honest man, and when he
had found him, he could go home. Perhaps I’m more naïve or luckier than Diogenes
was, because I believe I have found several honest people during my lifetime. On the
other hand, there is no doubt that corruption abounds in all its forms. Corruption has
another great skill: it is an expert at wearing kindly, honest-looking masks.
It won’t get you anywhere to baptize every online business effort as a scam, but even
with all the due diligence in the world you can still be taken in. Since we do live in
this world, just about the only thing we can do is try to be a positive force where we
can and keep our eyes wide open and all our senses alert when we walk into the next
“great opportunity”. Oh, and be prepared to take our losses gracefully!

Your Thoughts Are Powerful
From: Gerri D Smith

“You create your thoughts, your thoughts create your intentions, your intentions
create your reality. Learn to act as if the life you visualize were already here."
-Dr. Wayne W. Dyer

The only thing between you and your desire to be successful and wealthy is one
single fact: You are not successful or wealthy because of how you think. This little
known fact keeps many from reaching their goals of success and wealth.

Are you sabotaging yourself from reaching your goals? Do you find yourself
spending lots of time doing things to change what you don’t like in your life? Most
problems are caused by the way you think. If one thing doesn’t work, you may try
something new, then something else, and still another something.

The trick to solving problems is to understand what is going on in your mind. Focus
on your thoughts and become aware of how many of your thoughts hold you back or
push you forward. Understanding your thoughts helps you answer any problems you
may have, too. This leads you to understand your dreams and goals.

All thoughts begin in your subconscious mind. Before they can be expressed in your
physical world, you must know how to set them in motion. This in turn, produces a
certain result. What then, is the ‘missing ingredient?’ How do you set your thoughts
in motion?

There is no other way then this: you need to think differently. If your old ways of
thinking aren’t working, you must learn a new way to think. And if you are to be, do,
and have all that you wish for - success, wealth, health, positive relationships, you
name it - you must learn to think in a different style that works. When you enhance
the new understanding of your thoughts, there is nothing in your life that cannot be
accomplished.

In order to do this, you must ‘wake up’ and mentally ‘watch’ your thoughts. Just
thinking that you wish to be successful and wealthy is not enough, You must also
‘see’ it. When you watch yourself think, your mind is open to receive the answers
you desire. This new way of thinking is based upon the true understanding of your
mind and the way you think. It’s magical!

You are at the mercy of your thoughts. You can’t stop them - so you must
be aware of them and understand them. This powerful insight ’awakens’ you.
With this kind of power over your thoughts, you magically know what’s happening
in your life.

In order to achieve your dreams, you must live in a constant state of awareness. Be
totally surprised about everything around you. When you learn to think in this new
way, you start living the kind of life you wish. You change because your way of
thinking changes. You get ideas you’ve never had before. You see things, people,
places, and events in a whole new way.

You also become aware of opportunities. Learn how to identify them for what they
are and how you want them to benefit your life. Remember, the only barrier between
you and what you desire is your lack of understanding. Knowledge alone of a certain
thing isn’t always the answer. Understanding is the knowing how and why a certain
thing happens.

Success lies just beyond your thoughts. Know that this understanding is what
inspires you to accomplish what you really desire in life. And if you are satisfied
with yourself -and-your thoughts, there is nothing you cannot do or be – because
your thoughts are powerful!

Please review my first site - http://www.ockertworld.com
From: Brian Ockert

Hi
I've been a reader of the post for over a year now and I'm very grateful for the great
tips and content. I've been wanting to sell on the internet as an affiliate for some time
and all the advice in your post is to have your own website and also keep it simple.
I've decided to restrict my affiliate subject to tools that help people using on line
auctions. I'd be grateful if anyone could review my site which I have designed with
traffic exchanges in mind. Also any tips for actually getting my site noticed without a
big cost.
Another question I have is this. Do you really need a contact page on your site if you
are selling someone else's stuff? I haven't included one yet but if you guys think I
should could you tell me how to stop any email address I put on the site from being
harvested which will result in my mailbox being full of more spam than it already is?

Thanks very much for your time.
Regards Brian.

====================GUEST ARTICLE =====================

When to say "When" to an affiliate program, by Chuck McCullough
=================================================

How long should you promote an affiliate program before you make the decision that
it just isn't going to work for you?

Let's face it; no matter how well a particular product may do on other websites, it just
might not be right for yours. Statistics show that only a small percentage of affiliates
for any given program actually make any money. What happens if you are one of
those that fall into the category not making money? Is it time to take down the site
and let the domain name registration expire?

No way! But it just might be the right time to make some changes to your strategy.
Analyze your website and the programs that you have signed up for. Determine
which of those REALLY appeal to your target audience. I said REALLY because I
want you to look at the programs from the viewpoint of your visitors, not from the
viewpoint of which ones are supposed to make you the most money.

There's a lot of advice out there on which programs to pick for your website, highest
commissions, monthly payout, online reporting, etc, etc, etc. The fact is that you
don't always have that choice to make. You need to concentrate on the products that
your visitors will be the most interested in. What programs compliment your
website's content and theme are much more important than signing up for every
program promising to make you rich with only one sale.

I'm a great example of the above information. One of my websites caters to a highly
targeted audience. I have tried many affiliate programs and advertising solutions on
that site over the past two years. You know which program consistently beats all
others? Amazon.com!

I get paid quarterly not monthly (make that a month or two after the quarter has
ended), I only get credited for that visit, not repeat visits, and up until about a month
ago had to wait until Monday of each week for my emailed statistics.

Believe it or not boys and girls, Amazon.com doesn't fit into the 'model affiliate
program' mold that we read so much about. Now, I'm not trying to be hypocritical
here, I too feel that you should do your best to find quality affiliate programs that
offer all of the above benefits and then some.

I'm just trying to tell you that if you find a program that really appeals to your target
audience, you CAN make some money with it. Don't pass up products that your
visitors would really be interested in just because they don't pay you enough.
Because if your visitors really do purchase from a particular program and you can
show consistent sales you will be able to appeal to the merchant and ask them to
increase their payout to you.

This happens a lot in this industry, especially if it is a good fit for both sides. Worse
case you might be able to get away with telling them that if they don't cooperate with
you, you're going to change to another program. Chances are they don't want to lose
your business, and they will work something out for you.

So now we've done the easy part and dumped the programs that we know aren't
appropriate for our site. What about the ones that are fairly targeted to our content
and that our visitors might be interested in? How do we know when the amount that
we are going to earn doesn't justify the time and effort to promote a particular
program?

I once read that you should give at least 3000 impressions to any given program
before making the decision to keep it or drop it. I don't quite agree with this
statement. According to this, I post a banner on my site, and if it hasn't made me any
money by 3000 impressions, dump it.

We all know (at least I hope we do!) that there is much more to being successful with
affiliate programs than just adding banners to your rotation.

So how do we set a benchmark? This has to be determined by you. It is based on
your website, your visitors, the program, and the amount of effort you have put into
promoting the program.

Have you blended the product offerings in with your content? Have you given
personal recommendations for any of the products? Have you displayed the links
and/or graphics prominently so that the majority of your traffic has a chance to see
them? Have you mentioned new product offerings to your newsletter subscribers?

If you can answer yes to the majority of the above questions, then you can make a
determination as to how long to try the affiliate program. If you've done these things
and your visitors have passed right by the offerings for a decent time frame and
nothing has happened...its time to move on!

Find another program and give it the same due diligence. If you do this with each
and everyone of your targeted programs, you WILL find a program that will perform
for you!

This process should be familiar to you...many, many internet marketers preach this
concept...simply known as...TESTING!! Your online career is a series of continual
tests. Try one product, if it doesn't work for you, get rid of it and try another one.

After you have done this testing, then and only then, can you say "When" to an
affiliate program.

================JOKE OF THE DAY==================

Russian soldier In the Russian Army have a very poor food, they are always hungry.
So, here is joke about it for ADLANDS' DIGEST Discussion List.

Submitted by Natalia,

Military Diets
===========

An English soldier, an American soldier and a Russian soldier found themselves
sharing a tent while on a military exercise and the conversation turned towards how
well fed each of them was.

"In the Russian Army we have a lot of food, even 2000 calories of food a day," said
the Russian.

"Well," said the Englishman, "In the British Army we are given 4000 calories of
food a day."

Hungry Russian soldier: "4000 calories? Oh"

"That's nothing," said the American, "in the US Army we have 8000 calories of food
a day".

At this the Russian got very annoyed. "Nonsense," he said, "how could one man eat
so much cabbage?"
