Does your family support your online efforts?
==================================
I guess this is a question that concerns mainly “newbies”, who are still
trying to
prove that they can actually learn a living on the net, however, older hands
can give
us their past experience as well. OK, enough preamble. Here is the question:
Does your family believe in your efforts to build a business online? Are
they behind
you 100% or are they saying things like “you are nuts” and “get a real job”?
How do
their comments affect you?

Re: Where am I Today
From: Bill Cox
In regards to what stage of my business adventure as I like to call it I'm
in right now
I'd like to say by now that I was successful.
However that is just not the truth. I've been working 5 or more hours
everyday for
the past year and really I haven't gotten nowhere near where I expected to
be.
I started out just being an affiliate of one company and when I wasn't
producing
enough there I expanded to more opportunities to sell other people's
products. I had
no problem getting downlines as each business had programs to help do this
but
getting those downline members to become active is another story!
I have advertised the free way, the paid way and I've purchased some
guaranteed
leads but again getting these people to act has been a struggle to say the
least.
I blame a lot of the inactivity to all the scams that are going on, they
have scared the
average wannabe business prospect to almost a frozen stage. I don't blame
them.
I think more of these businesses need to get rid of the required upgrades in
order to
make real money and let people use their tools and concentrate on their
sales so they
can succeed at a quicker pace for less of a risk in costs. It cost too much
for the
majority to advertise their new business let alone have to pay a monthly fee
to
upgrade and get use of everything they need to succeed.
To succeed and compete with the big boys we need all the available marketing
tools
but we can't afford the price while most of us are on very limited budgets
or have no
money at all till we start making some from our particular business venture.
Free is not free on the net! That word gets a lot of people signed up but
once they
find out that it will cost them to be productive they do nothing. They
can't!
I think it should all change soon and once I'm at the point where I can have
all the
tools at my disposal I will set up my own business program that will require
no
upgrades in membership to get free use of my tools.
Think about it, the success of your business depends on the success of the
people
you incorporate into that business. So if you really want them to succeed
then you
have to give them every opportunity to do that. If they succeed then so will
you, it's
that simple.
No, I'm not where I want to be yet but I won't give up, I'll keep putting in
all the
hours necessary to be productive and earn the money I'm looking for but
believe me
when I do arrive and I do get a business program of my own set up for the
90% of
the people who fail with other online companies, I'll be the Big gun and the
other
business programs will have to change or fall out of the market because I'll
own it
with a 90% majority of new business owners.
There will be no field that I will leave out, if there is a product out
there for sale ,
my people will be selling it. So look out business programmers and scammers,
your
days are numbered.

Re: No 1 priority in my business
From: Mohd.Nizar Akob
Hi,
My no 1 priority is to build my internet business to a higher level. Right
now I have
3 main businesses, Reality Million, SFI, and Empowerism. Now I found that
while
building Reality Million or NEW businesses is relatively quite easy but
promoting
establish program like SFI and Empowerism are bit tougher.
I have work with various kind of traffic generation and the most successful
is Traffic
Exchanges but it is rather slow.
Tried paid e-zine and PPC which were touted to be among the best way to
generate
traffic and income but have yet to experience positive result albeit burning
hundreds
of dollars.
I am now spending more time and some money on 2 things, knowledge and
traffic. I
hope one day I will grow my Empowerism and SFI business to a highest
achievement.
Best Regards
Nizar

Re: What DOES the Internet mean for you?
From: Robert Lee
HI all and to Mark as well. It's good to know that some people remember me.
:-)
For me, The Internet means my livelihood. It's been a few years since I
surfed the
Internet and didn't come up with some sort of idea to sell something. I've
long since
stopped surfing just for the enjoyment. Now I look for places to advertise,
ideas for
articles to write, places to link to. The marketing mind is always in
motion.
A couple of years ago when it was rumored that the FRIENDS TV show was going
to end and that they might kill off one of the characters I came up with
www.KillRcahel.com. A humorous poke
at the Rachel character. The site sells
FRIENDS memorabilia and still makes good money today. The site was 3 hours
of
work and weekly updating that took about 30 minutes. Over its life span to
date, it
has generated about US$8,000 in sales through affiliate programs and stuff
I'd sell
directly through PayPal.
I currently manage over 40 websites. All of them turn a profit every month.
The
required maintenance of these sites is about 10 hours a week. Calculating
this out I
earn about US$250.00 per hour, US$10,000 per month. Not bad for a hobby that
started out 7 years ago with a crappy little site that had free downloads
(Now, it's
www.robrob8.com).
So, in a nutshell, the Internet (yes, big I), is how I pay my bills, eat,
clothe myself
and my family.
It should be yours too!

Re: Gerri a good post
From: Ervin Hoath
Hi, Gerri
I enjoyed your post. There are two books I can think of right away that
would fit in
with your topic today. There are probably lots more but I have read these
two and
found them very good and helpful to changing the way we think and speak.
1) Hung By The Tongue
2) What To Say When You Talk To Yourself.
You may have read them yourself already but I thought I would mention them
in
case anyone that hasn’t and might want to. You can get them at your local
bookstore.
Thanks for a great post

Re: Constantly feeling your attitude
From: Doug Lindahl
Great post on "You are what you are thinking" because it is who you listen
to, hang
around, network with, and follow who ultimately design our minds for us, get
us to
veer off a smooth path of freedom and serenity, and onto a path of
negativity and
doubt. I believe it's by association with the right people all the time that
really works
to help change the process we all are using.
It's great to let everyone know it's what you're thinking that is creating
your life, but
most of us are learning what it takes to change that programmed style we all
have
been molded into and re-create ourselves as positive and influential
networkers
achieving our dreams and goals.

Don't let procrastination, hesitation or fear stop you
From: Gary Mutton
As a teenager in the 60's, I saw a movie, starring Sidney Poitier. "To Sir
With Love"
The theme of the movie was a New teacher at a Secondary School in London's
notoriously Tough East End.
In those time's in the East End, if you had no academic qualification you
were most
likely to become a Barrow boy (Street Market Trader) or a docker at the then
thriving London Docks.
The new teacher was faced with a class of unruly teenager's in their final
year of
school (leaving age then in England was 15) with no academic qualifications
they
faced a bleak depressing future. The teacher knew he would not be able to
aspire
them to academic greatness, so he concentrated on trying to impress upon
them some
"life lessons" to better prepare them for life after school.
The impression that one of the characters, a pupil, made on me has stayed
with me
all my life.
When this boy failed to attend school for a while, the teacher looked for
him at the
local market, where the boy's father worked. When he saw the boy, he said to
him
that it was important that he comes back to school so he could help him to
prepare
for his life. The boy said to him. "What do I want to go to school for? I
got me own
Barra' ain't I"
This really epitomised to me the extent of his ambition. He had been given
his own
market barrow by his market trading family, and cannot see any further than
following in the footsteps of his father and his father before him.
My point, why tell you this story?
If you want to be successful in your life you have to look beyond your own
pre-
conceptions. There is no magic formula. No getting rich for doing nothing.
No big
secret to success. You have to take the bull by the horns and have a go. It
will take
many hours of work and there is a lot to learn. You will make mistakes along
the
way but you must be consistent and stick at it.
As they say. "Nothing ventured, nothing gained". You will not be alone. See
you at
the top. I am no expert, but I don't want to be a barrow boy for ever.
I first began marketing on the Internet three years ago. I am not rich yet,
but I still
believe that I can achieve my goals in my business ventures and I will never
quit.

Brian Ockert.
I guess I should read more before stamping all over the place. I humbly
apologize.
Take it for trying to kick the coffee monkey on my back.
If you are selling as an affiliate, you need to provide case samples of what
you are
doing. You need to have invested in the product yourself. You need to be
open for
contact, sales referrals, help and all of that if your affiliate manager
partner does not
offer that.
You need to have value on your website that outweighs your affiliate
products so
that there is a reason for people to visit your website time and time again.
Don't count on a 90 day cookie to earn you that sale after only one visit!
When you have an interested visitor you need to get them back several times.
Offer a
free e-course via email on using the product (that's why you need it in the
first place.
What do you call someone that is selling something they'd never use
themselves? A
huckster!) Offer them to join your newsletter. Offer them a freebie, this
week,
another one next week. Keep them coming back.
Your style of website design should compliment your affiliate link path. It
shouldn't
be a big shock or design change as you lead your prospect towards that sale.
Having
a major page color difference makes your sales opportunity harder. But
you’re on the
path. Good luck and happy selling!

Re: Response to Brian Ockert

Hello Brian,
I went to your site. In answer to your question about a contact page, yes
you should
have one. You can encode your email address. This will keep most robots from
harvesting it. This won't prevent people from copying it though. Other
methods can be used.
On this page:
http://www.sledgehammersdeals.com/contact.htm you'll see my email
address listed
but you can display other text and still leave it clickable. The address is
encrypted in
the main source code which is supposed to keep robots from harvesting it.
Hope this helps.

While I'm not a techy, I liked the appearance of your site, the links all
worked the

Regarding having your email harvested, there is a product that you can get

them) called 'Webmaster

First that front page with the drapes hanging down is great! I love the look

Color scheme is great. Navigation is good. It is a great example of K.I.S.S

Ok Rob, here goes:
Fom your home page :"This is a powerful, proven, home-based business system
that
will help you build a successful business working from home."
This introduction is weak and does not build any excitement.
Your "Case studies" are nothing more than sales letters. I guess that the
point of your
website is to generate hopeful, barely qualified leads, which I'm sure it
will do.
I have to wonder, however, why you don't mention your 'opportunity' by name
anywhere on your site.
Your site is well put together, the navigation is easily followed, proper
text formation
is used and no apparent spelling errors. I just get the feeling that not
everything is on
the 'up and up' as far as your business proposal. Now, I may be wrong, but I
don't
like 'unnamed business opportunities'. I've had too many people try to sell
me on
Amway. Good luck with this.
