Are you a positive thinker?
====================
Talking about caring and negative comments, this question came to my mind
(helped
along by Joe Stewart’s post below!). We are told time and time again that
the only
way to succeed BIG is if we think positively. Now, to tell you a secret,
I’ve been
trying to improve my own thinking – which by nature is rather pessimistic –
and I
was wondering how YOU think?
Do you always try to find the silver lining in every cloud or do you wallow
in
negativity, pondering upon the injustices of the world and your own dire
circumstances?

Re: Do we think locally or globally?
From: Ken Webb
Hi,
This really depends on what you are selling.
I am based in the UK but the vast majority of my customers, contacts,
subscribers etc
are based in the US or Canada.
The rest are made up from various parts of the world. Only a handful are
from the
UK which I believe has more to do with the problems I bought up in the last
issue.
There is so much that can be transferred onto disc or downloaded directly
from the
web that distance is not a problem for me personally.Of course, if I was
selling bulky
items it would probably be a different story.
So my answer at present is "I think Globally".
But if I was selling consumables many other factors would come into play and
it will
be interesting to hear other replies to this question.
Regards,
Ken.

I have to respond to this with an absolute GLOBALLY.
Involved with a company that has offices, warehouses, and staff (real live
people) in
dozens of countries and a business presence in dozens more, with downline on
three
continents, though I'd like to expand that to five or more, we have a global
business.
I keep in contact with our downline anyway I can and I'm prepared to contact
prospects anywhere, anytime. Why limit ourselves?
What annoys me is when a prospect wants their sponsor to live next door.
It's not duplicable.
If they want their sponsor to live next door, doesn't that mean that they
will also want
their downline to live next door?
As I tell people, once you are dealing with someone outside driving
distance, it
doesn't matter much whether they are in the same state or the other side of
the world.
Bye for now.

Re: I fear the Worst when it comes to Thinking ! ;)
From: Angelo Minneboo
The basic premise for doing business online is that we have the opportunity
to
expand beyond our Neighbourhood, town and/or country. Or is it? Are we
doomed to
being unable to think beyond the narrow parameters of "walking" or "driving"
distance?
I fear the worst as we have seen men's destructive and narrow mindedness
lead great
Nations to their DOOM in the past and all the way through the 'Great History
of
ManKind'.
As I experience in my own community things as Hate, Fear , Discrimination ,
Abuse
and well leave it to your Imagination to fill in further !! I fear the
General Public (for
now at least) will stay very much 'on their own turf' and not have the
boldness to try
new ventures as these.
However I do foresee that in the Future once the kids that are now growing
up and
completely adapted to these new technologies at hand, the fear for what is
distant and
strange will very soon be nothing but a faint memory of us 'Old People'. ;)
I wish you lots and lots of Fun Exploring the Internet!

Re: What is the first thing you would advise your newly recruited people to
do?
From: David Ferguson
I agree Robert
You need to read everything you can about what you are promoting, but if you
are
selling a product say that is a health product you MUST buy it and try it
out yourself.
How can you tell your prospects what it has done for you if you have never
bought it
and tried it out. You should get other peoples stories on how it helped them
as well.
Bottom line here is it does you no good if your prospects ask you how you
like the
product your promoting and you tell them you don't even buy it.

Re: Why do Internet marketers lie so bluntly?
From: William Jaroske
Dirk van,
The answer is very simple. They do it because they are desperate. So
desperate, that
they are willing to telling you anything just to get you to sign up.
These very people I have no respect for.. However, the people tend to hang
out on
certain areas of the web. I'm sure you find a lot of them on WAH oriented
sites and
mlm forums.
Why on earth would someone tell you that there is a way to make tons of
money
quickly? You can do that working a regular job. That is the only way you can
make
money fast next to holding garage sales, but who ever got rich quick having
garage
sales? That is the most outrageous thing I ever heard LOL.

Re: Why do Internet Marketers Lie so Bluntly?
From: Ken Webb
Hi,
I answered this question in part in a previous issue. Many marketers,
particularly
newbies, are simply copying and pasting the ads they are given by the
program
owners.
Others, of course, will say anything to get their hands on your cash. Get
Rich Quick,
Make a Fortune in Ten Days etc. I wonder how many are aware that if they
make
fraudulent claims about the product they are promoting they can actually be
held
responsible? Very few people are aware of this.
For instance if you are an affiliate of "Get Rich Quick" and you claim to me
that I am
guaranteed to make $10,000 in ten days I can hold you responsible even if
you are
only an affiliate? If I don't make the $10,000 you are responsible, not the
program or
product owner.
Very few people are aware of this simple fact which is the reason so many
still make
ridiculous claims about the product they are promoting. But there is a
noticeable
increase of people now taking action against their uplines rather than the
program
owners, where they have evidence of fraudulent claims being made.
Even if you simply copy and paste an ad provided you are still responsible
as it was
you that sent it.
You can read about this and many other little known facts on the FTC
website. Link
is below.

Ken.

Re: Has Internet marketing become history?
From: Devasish Gupta
I believe Internet Marketing is not dead but the way its done has certainly
died. If
you do the basics of internet marketing in the right way then you can
effectively
market your website.
There so many websites but only a few are able to succeed. So, what’s the
difference
between those few who succeed and those who don't, they both use internet
marketing strategies to promote their sites. Then what draws the line
between them?
The difference lies in how they execute those marketing strategies. Instead
of
thinking how marketing your services benefits you, think how you can help
customers to benefit through your marketing.
Well, I am no marketing guru but I’ve read about those few sites that do
perform
profitably on the net. If you wanna know what i am talking about then you
must
consult Ken Evoy... Check out what he has done to some of the websites that
make
up those few who succeed online...
http://www.casestudies.premium.ws/
Hope, it gives you the true meaning of internet marketing and help clear any
doubts
about it.

Re: Are Affiliates being short changed?
From: David Ferguson
Yes we, they are
Lots of people promote with their affiliate link in which I think is wrong.
Lots of
people on the net will cut off the ID part of the link and just go to the
company
website and the affiliate will never see the sign up or the money for it.
On good way to beet this is to us a redirect URL. The one I use is very
good, and I
use it for the simple fact that I can login to the members’ area and see how
many
times my link has been clicked. A good tool to see how your ad is working or
not,
and this is easy to use and totally free

Re: Conference Calls
From: Ken Webb
Hi,
Conference calls are very useful if they are not abused.
Unfortunately this is now becoming the case. I attended one out of curiosity
recently,
it was a pure case of Hard Sell along with the usual Hype.
I hope this doesn't discourage others from attending genuine conferences.
I agree that being able to address an issue to an audience is far superior
in all kinds
of ways than either email or the telephone.
Although I have now quit the MLM scene I can still see the value of this.

Ken.

Stay Positive!
From: Joe Stewart
Hello,
I've recently read several articles posted about how "affiliate marketing is
dying"
and how marketing on the internet "isn't what it used to be".
This bothers me because the internet is growing like wildfire and although
certain
things are changing, it doesn't mean that you can't still earn money with
affiliate
programs.
Why not set up a simple "pre-sell" page directing a prospective customer to
your
affiliate program? Make sure to get their contact info beforehand and follow
up with
autoresponder messages. This will not only make certain that you get credit
for the
sale, it will also build your contact list and you won't have to worry about
cookies.
Another thing is, I keep hearing how information is the way to make money
online? Did you know that 95% of all money online is made by selling hard
goods?
Can you say EBAY?
There are a lot of good things happening out there for anyone who is able to
"roll
with the punches" and be willing to go where the money is.
Bottom line: Stay positive!
I highly recommend Ken McCarthy's "Pre-Sell" course for anyone who could use
a
"shot in the arm" to get going again. I’ve learned more from his free course
than
many ebooks that I've bought.
That's all folks, I just needed to vent.
To your success!
Joe
