Word from Moderator

Hello folks!
I hope everyone had a wonderful and profitable week!!
You know, this is the best time of the year to take advantage of the advertising
offered in AdlandPro and in Pressmania, especially if you’ve managed to get your
business automated! I mean, wouldn’t it be nice if you went on vacation and
found
that you’ve been making money from those ads that you placed and forgot? Hey,
how do you think people that make money on the Internet do it? Are they sitting
on
top of their computer 24/7 or are they out enjoying their life? What would YOU
rather be doing?
Think about it.

=============NEW Tidbit==========================
Are you investing in yourself?
======================
OK, most people by now are aware that they must invest in their business in
order to
get it off the ground.
But how about investing in yourself? Have you thought about it?
We don’t come in this world knowing everything, right? We LEARN to first crawl,
then walk, then run. It’s the same thing with every new task we undertake… we
have
to LEARN how to do it, and certainly, online marketing has a rather steep
learning
curve.
But that’s not all. How about yourself?? Are you spending enough time, effort
and
resources into becoming a better person? On learning how to achieve your goals
at
along last? On getting rid of old, preconceived and ultimately damaging ideas?
It always surprises me how many people don’t understand that all of life is a
learning
process. It amazes me that people will spend money on all sorts of useless
things and
not a penny on what is most important: themselves!
So, here is the question of the day: If all you had in life was $500, how much
would
you invest on being trained to reach a new level in your life?

Did I ask a stupid question last week, or is it that no one has clear goals?

Re: Exploding you ezines subscriptions
From: Vitae Bergman
Dr. Bob Siegman's comments to this theme strikes a cord with me.
Since I am a writer and author, as well as an information consumer [read freak]
content to me is the essential ingredient in any of the many newsletters and
ezines to
which I subscribe.
So, in addition to writing novels, I'm busy writing articles for subscription
lists.
For anyone here who owns a newsletter or ezine and has a continuous need for
content material, there are website clearing houses that provide articles on a
wide
variety of subjects, either freely or at modest cost.
Here are a few:

http://www.goarticles.com/
http://www.associatedcontent.com/
The Internet for me is a marvellous symbiotic soup-mix. Ezine owners need
writers/writers need ezine owners.

A great Big Thank You
From: Garret Belisle
Firstly, allow me to apologize for not sending a post earlier, I have been
to busy
learning from every post I receive from everyone here.
My thanks.
I do have a question that I have been missing the answer to, or it is right
in front of
me and I simply do not see it.
Here it is:
I have a main site up and running, with respect to blogs, would it be a good
idea to
go to blogger.com and make a similar site as a blog or have a blog with an
open
discussion on the information I have out there now?
I would appreciate any feedback.
Sincerely
Garret Belisle

Are we out of control?
From: Amalia Sotiriadou
=============================================
I just posted this a little while ago in the Digest Forum, and I’m
re-posting it here,
because it applies just as much to the Digest e-mail. I hope someone can
analyze it
for me please, because I am unable to comprehend it.
=============================================
What is SO important about placing one more ad in a Forum, especially when
you
KNOW that no ads are allowed?
Do you truly believe that the people who visit here will be actually
GRATEFUL that
you opened their eyes to your opportunity/product or whatnot?
Let's get SERIOUS folks! You only end up irritating the members and you are
not
likely to get a single sale out of it.
Someone EXPLAIN IT TO ME PLEASE???
WHY DO YOU SPAM???

===============New Discussion (3)========================
Do you qualify your prospects?
From: Amalia Sotiriadou
I’m full of questions today, huh? .I guess I woke up curious!
This is a question for those dealing with MLM mainly, but it may apply to
anyone
who is recruiting affiliates or potential business partners.
You see, one of the problems in online MLM today, and the reason that so
many
people have been disappointed with the business, is that few (if any)
programs
encourage their affiliates to test and qualify their prospects BEFORE
recruiting
them. When you are recruited into a program, you are basically told: “ok, go
out now
and multiply”! Some companies are better than others and may actually give
you
some sort of system to duplicate and even a bit of training, but many won’t
even
bother.
People who have little or no business skills recruit other people who have
little or no
business skills and since no one really knows what they are doing, pretty
soon the
structure collapses and you end up with a lot of people in your downline who
just sit
there and do nothing.
By the time you catch on and try to start training them, they are so fed up
with the
system, they hear MLM and run away as fast as they can!
Have you ever considered QUALIFYING a prospect before recruiting them?
Making
them go through a sort of “interview” as if they were applying for a job?
If you have applied this system online, what have your results been?

================Site Review Responses (1)==================
Re: Site Review: Natasha's Russian Recipes
From: Kindra Martinenko
Hi Natasha! First of all, I would like to say that your website brought back
many
fond memories for myself, as a young exchange student living with a Russian
family
in 1994. The moment I saw your recipes for Blini, I knew this was a
bookmarkable
site! I would love to visit your town in the near future!
Now, as for the site itself, over all, you did a nice job. I would make the
following
suggestions to tidy it up a bit:
1. Change the title from "Cooking and Recipes" to "Russian Cooking and
Recipes".
Cooking and recipes is too generic for a content specific site such as
yours. Since
almost every recipe you have is for authentic Russian courses or Russian
variations
of traditional meals, you want people to know that this site is about
sharing Russian
recipes. Also, you can take the period "." off the title.
2. You nailed the general navigation scheme the first time around, so good
job!
Some recommended fixes:
a)Move the link to "home" over to the left navigation, making it the first
link on the
top. Make it a larger font size and bold it.
b)Change the font size for all of the text on your website to "10" or "2",
depending
on what you are using to edit the content of your website. If you are not
quite sure,
then increase the current font size you are using by 1 step. This seems to
be the web
standard for font size and the search engines like it.
c)I found that on some of the pages (notably, this page:
http://recipes.siteburg.com/coffee/index.htm) that the page title wraps
around the
next line and overlaps other text in the navigation. This must be a CSS
issue. I
would try adding a line of code within your CSS that fixes the wrapping
issue. You
can go to http://www.w3schools.com/ and find a bunch of good resources on
how to
troubleshoot CSS.
d)On your Coffee Recipe pages, instead of having numbers for the recipes on
the
navigation, I would name each link by the type of coffee (for example, Blue
Morning
Choice). Or better yet, classify the coffee by what type it is. For example,
if there
are particular coffees that compliment desserts, make a page dedicated to
dessert
coffees. Or, coffees that have liqueur in them could be classified as
Liqueur Coffee.
I also noticed that you have some photos of dessert on the coffee recipe
pages. I am
not sure if you did this on purpose, but I noticed that some of the
directions for the
desserts were on the pages with the directions for the coffee. Again,
probably
another CSS issue.
3.There is something wrong with your coffee recipe e-book. It does the same
thing
as the main web pages for the coffee recipes. I would also try compiling
your ebook
using PDF. If you have Microsoft Word, Publisher, or another similar word
processing software, you can compile your coffee recipe pages and save the
document. You can then pick up a very handy PDF compiling software for free
at
www.pdf995.com. This will turn your word-processed document into pdf format.
4. You have so many recipes, all of them look great. I would seriously
consider
making a gigantic e-book (with full color photos) out of all of your recipes
and
signing up to ClickBank (www.clickbank.com)
so you can sell it for $21.95 and
offer an affiliate program as well. I would be your first customer and
affiliate!
Natasha, I really enjoyed your website. You put in a lot of hard work and it
shows. I
look forward to using some of your recipes soon and visiting your beautiful
town.
Best wishes,
