============ Word from Publisher =============

Hi everybody.

Further to recent spam accusations I posted some of the replies
to me to "Special message to Adland subscribers" and some
of the messages sent directly to Heidi.
You can find them here.
http://www.adlandpro.com/spam_story_starts_here.htm
There is lots of worthy material here if you want to learn about
spam. Also some of the experiences of other fellows list owners
might be of interest to those who are already running newsletters
or discussion lists. I didn't post all of the  messages. Some of them
were to verbal and some which were cautioning me, could be
material for further harassment  if seen by any of so called
"Spam haters".

Also I'm not sure how this message received my mailbox.
For your view it is in html form here.
http://www.adlandpro.com/clo.htm
It shows how Heidi helped one of the marketers to lose
his email account at hotmail.

Recently I emailed her ISP about her actions and I'm waiting for results

Now let's go to other topics.

Subject: Referring to Adam Acres request for review

Bogdan,

Referring to Adam Acres request for review I must express
my disappointment to people using your friendly forum for
SPAMMING!
Adam's site is a generic site featuring 'get-rich-quick-schemes',
and his request for review is a kind of SPAM I really don't like.

I'm on the Net since 1994, and am angry about the increasing
number of people joining my beloved <g> medium missing all
the attitudes of the original sense of the Internet --
*Give, and take*
There are thousands of veteran netizens who like to share their
experiences -- learned by trial and error -- with others, and
especially to help fellow newbies.
People like Mr. Adam are counteractive and counter-productive,
they're only serving misunderstanding and misinterpretations.
Fortunately, still they are a minority.

Virtually Yours,
Joseph Jobst

I applaud this message because, some of requests (not just this one)
for reviews are just basically way of getting visitors to your website.
If you are looking really for some feedback, please make it reasonable,
otherwise we will be getting more messages like this and I will post all of
them.

Subject: having fun

I am fairly new to the internet and I wanted
to conquer the object of creating a web page.
I have been reading this forum and have been
impressed by how much people are learning over the
internet and by how willing people are to share
information.  Through a series of many different
people I created my first web page.  It is a page
dedicated to American Cooking.  If you want to
check it out go to http://www.hotyellow98.com/shirley
I am not selling recipes..I am giving them out for
free.  I just wanted to share information on the
information highway :)
Thank you

Subject: About some Mac programming

Hi everyone!

Can anybody point me to a Mac programming software that allows me to strip
addresses from e-mails received by me and automatically places them into the
mail-out list for an automated message?

Anyone think they might be able to build one even? (Money awaits!)

Best wishes,
Simon Deane

SUBJECT: WANTED- Company looking for pro design sponsorship/partnership

My design firm is looking for a company to
sponsor.  We need a company with a high
traffic pull and high promotion potential.
In exchange for advertising priveledges
we will completely redesign your site to
Fortune 500 quality.  Approx. value would
be between $5-10 000.  If you need impeccable
design but can't afford it, contact us and we
might be interested in sponsoring you.
Partnership is also discussible.
(We will of course, not change your
site at all until you are satisfied with the
design, though it really isn't necessary.)

Subject: What do you think?

Hi , I am a newbie that has just started  a fishing/ travel  / on-line
catalog service. We have been working frantically to get the site up and
running. We now have enough content that we feel viewers can start to
appreciate the experience. We have tried the discussion groups and have had
moderate success getting some hits. we have just received our official
domain name
Http://www.fishinAction.com. and have tried to list with the browsers but we
are not active yet.
What do we do now? Chicken and the egg- we need comments and suggestions by
viewers so we can analyze the data and make the site better.

Please look the site over and offer your suggestions.

Thanks
Greg at FishinAction

From: Debbie Ducker  <m_dducker@centuryinter.net>
Subject: 5 Ways To Be A Helpful To Your Fellow Marketers!

In lieu of all this complaining and threats about so called
unsolicited e-mail (SPAM), I have been inspired to say a
few thoughts on how to be helpful to your fellow marketers.
Please note I do not condone real "SPAM" and/0r unsolicited
email in any way.

It is a tough road out there and we all have to travel it.
So why not make it a little easier for everyone, by being
helpful instead of a hindrance to those you meet along the
way? I have no doubts, it is not online marketers causing
all this disturbance over this out of control so called
"spam" thing, because if you are really trying to make it
in online marketing you are way too busy to cause anyone
else problems!  I know you as online marketers know how
hard this work can be sometimes, the endless hours on the
computer, trying to catch up on lost time or ironing our
server problems, worrying about that last flame you got
from someone that obviously has no sympathy to how hard
you work to keep things going.

Well here are a few things that come quickly to mind that
we can do to make this world a little easier for everyone.

1.  First and most important, mind your own business.  I
mean this literally, don't worry about what the other guy
is doing.  Trust me you will have problems enough on your
own, without looking for any.  As far as unwanted e-mail
goes, hit DELETE!

2.  Keep your eyes open for ways to help each other.  If
nothing else write and let them know you appreciate their
hard work or send a testimonial about one of their products
you have used, etc. and never pass on saying "Thank You" to
someone that has helped you.

3.  Think before you leap! Before you send that complaint to
someone's ISP, think about how much trouble it will cause
this
person.  They have families they are taking care of just
like
you, sure they get a little desperate and step out on a limb
(i.e. send out a little "Unsolicited email").  But can you
honestly say you wouldn't take chances for your family, if
you thought it would help them in some way?

4.  Use your common sense.  Don't get me wrong, I am not
addressing the issue of these people that send you a 100
get rich scheme emails on a weekly basis (but even at that
I my self prefer the delete button, before an execution of
this person).  Use some common sense in the matter.  If you
have only heard once or twice from that person, is it really
worth possibly ruining their online reputation and all the
other problems it will cause to report them? Remember the
old adage, "Walk a mile in a man's shoes, before you judge
him."

5.  Respect your fellow marketers and also keep in mind that
you too at one time did not know all the rules and possibly
broke a few yourself. We all make mistakes and no one is
perfect.  But we can all be a little closer to it with a
little help from our friends.

So here are atleast 5 ways to get started making life easier
for those on the same road as you.  I am sure there are many
more ways so please use the ways you know and you will be
much more productive and happy!

Sincerely, Debbie Ducker

My name is Nikki and I am new to this group and relatively new the internet

I just started my website the beginning of December, and have had a problem
with it being to wide and haven't been able to figure out how to correct the
problem in the html language.  If someone could please check out my site and
tell me what I need to put in the html to bring the site down to the size of
