Promise of Peace
7/8/2007 10:45:35 AM

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid" (John 14:27 RSV).

Here also is a quote from a book I just finished reading this morning during my devotional time. I thought is was appropriate for those of us who are doing business on the web.

"You may be perplexed in your business; your prospects may grow darker, and you may be threatened with loss; but do not become discouraged; cast you care upon God, and remain calm and cheerful. Pray for wisdom to manage your affairs with discretion, and thus prevent loss and disaster. Do all you can on your part to bring about favorable results. Jesus has promised His aid, but not apart from our effort. When, relying upon our Helper, you have done all you can, accept the result cheerfully" (Steps to Christ page 122).

This is a powerful message.

It takes more effort to stand still and wait for an answer than to rush ahead and get into something God does not want you involved in.  The strengh it takes to wait on Jehovah's time is easily come by (all you have to do is ask him for it) but rarely used.
