The company that we'll be discussing today markets Sports Apparel and Memorabilia. For the purpose of this story, we'll call them "Sports A&M" (for all of you Aggie fans!)

Sports A&M has several types of products that appeal to several different groups. They knew that to properly market their products, they needed to be able to offer specific links to specific types of Affiliates. They were able to accomplish this using My Affiliate Program's Sign Up Validation, Affiliate Categorization and Empowerment Pack. We also added a field to Sports A&M's sign up page where new Affiliates could add a brief description about their site -- you'll see how this helps out below!

When new Affiliates sign on, Sports A&M receives an email letting them know that a new Affiliate is waiting to be activated. The Affiliate Manager for Sports A&M takes a look at the Affiliate's profile, including the description of their site and in some cases, visits the Affiliate's site to get a better idea of what specific target group the Affiliate is reaching.

>From there, the Affiliate Manager approves the Affiliate's membership so they can begin earning commissions and decides how they should be Categorized. Sports A&M uses the following Affiliate Types:

If he visits the site of a new Affiliate and finds that they sell collectibles and antiques he places them in the "Sports Collectibles" type.

For each type, Sports A&M has set up a category of linking methods using the Empowerment Pack. For the Soccer Type, there is a category of banners and images of soccer balls and bright goalie jerseys and a category of articles about protective soccer gear. The Children's Apparel Type has a category of images with little leaguers and instructional tools and a category of articles explaining the importance of involving children in sports.

When Affiliates sign on to their Administration Pages, they'll be able to view their specific linking categories by clicking on "More Linking Methods".

In Sports A&M's system, Affiliates are able to add targeted, interest-specific information and links to their visitors -- increasing their chances of turning pages views, into click-throughs into sales!

In the next few months, Sports A&M plans to introduce Special Promotions to Affiliate Types during each professional sport season. For example, they'll offer bonus commissions to their Football Affiliates during the NFL season to help boost projected sales.
