Generating New Business The Proven Free
Way

We all know in business it
usually takes an amount of time
or money to generate business.
What if there was a way to
generate business for you for
free and have an army of mini
sales people working on your
side and not on your payroll?
Is it Possible? Yes it is!
We are going to discuss that
now. It is so easy and so, so,
so, overlooked by the majority
of business owners in your field
and other niches or areas.
If you are not doing anything to
generate referrals now, then
you're leaving money on the
table and most likely someone
else is going to grab it.
"So how do you get them and
where? " That's probably your
next question, right? Well there
is a few ways, but the most
simplest...
Just Ask!
Commonly when I consult with
clients I often find that they
do not have any referral program
in place and 99% of them have
never even asked for a referral
from a client or customer.
You may have even by accident or
something got a referral, right?
Someone passed on your name and
someone called you and or came
into your store.
But did you ever actively start
doing something to generate more
referrals?

Let's start out right away by saying this is
the easiest and importantly least expensive
thing you can do to generate new business.
It's FREE! Now there is a couple of ways you
can do this. One way is to set up a referral
program or a reward system for clients or
customers that refer others to you.
At the very least, ask.
If you did a good job and offered a good
product or service, this shouldn't be an
issue.
Also be sure to Thank That Person Who
Referred a Lead or Client To You!
I heard a story about a guy that referred
over hundreds of thousands of dollars worth
of business to an attorney over the year and
the client didn't send a card, a gift, or
even a call to say thanks for the referrals.
Guess
what? That attorney didn't get any more
referrals from him again. Over hundreds of
thousands of dollars and didn't even thank
him.
A simple bottle of wine, a card, or thank
you, could have kept the referrals coming
in. If the attorney was really smart...
He should have given a really nice gift,
that's a lot of money coming in from one
person's word of mouth and a token of
appreciation should have been given.
Now, obviously depending on your industry or
profession, if you are going to offer cash
as an incentive, you should make sure it's
legal. |

You can offer money, gift cards,
books, a bottle of champagne,
flowers, vacations, free
services or products, DVD
players, TVs, or anything to
reward your customers for
telling others.
Obviously you would give the
gift after the referral signed
up or bought your service or
product.
No upfront money out of your
pocket to get that customer in
and you are taking profits made
and rewarding your past client
or customer for sending them
your way.
Now you want to make sure you
adjust your reward for what you
bring in.
If a client brings in a $20
sale, you probably want to make
sure it's small, but shows
appreciation. Now if the person
referred a $100 client, why not
send a $10 or $20 gift card or
something because that's money
you wouldn't have seen
otherwise.
You should get creative. Let's
say a person referred a client
and made you some money.
How about a $20 gift card to the
movie theater by their house
with the message "Thanks again
for sending that client to me
and here's a night at the movies
on me for you and a loved one,
grab some popcorn for the show"
Do you see what you are doing?

It may be only $20 but you are
giving him sincere thanks, a
thoughtful gesture, and most
importantly linking you to him by
doing something creative like this.
Imagine he's at the movies with his
wife having some popcorn and seeing
a great movie. Now he's having a
great time and guess what, you gave
him that experience.
When he starts to tell people what
movie he saw, I bet he will probably
mention as well that this great guy
or girl (that's you!) treated him to
a movie date night for him and his
wife.
That's a good association link don't
you think? Please do yourself a
favor and like I said, if you do get
a referral, You Must Thank the
person who sent them to you.
They're your salesman working for
you and there not even on the
payroll, so treat him good and
appreciate that person. What about
offering a reward program?
You could offer... refer 1 person
and get x or refer two people and
get xyz absolutely free. The fast
and easy step is to...
Just think about what you could do
to reward those who send business to
you and how can you really motivate
people to start sending business to
you?
