8 Questions To Ask Yourself To Achieve Business Growth

If you have a business, and you want to see it grow and prosper, if you want to increase profits, get new customers and generally make more money, here are 8 questions to ask yourself. Answer them honestly and without censoring and you will have some great new ideas to help your business grow.

1 What's been working for you in the past?

Consider the marketing and sales activities that you have been doing, or maybe ones that you used to do that you have stopped. Which ones worked well and generated leads, or created direct sales? What if you do more of these activities? How will this help your business grow?

2 What hasn't worked for you in the past?

Thinks about the things that didn't work so well, do you know why they didn't? If you do then could you try them again applying the lessons that you have learned? Alternatively if you stop doing this sort of activity, will it give you more time and budget for some others that will work?

3 What ideas do you think would work if you tried them out?

Do you have any ideas that you haven't tried out yet? If so how can you test them out and see? It's often the ideas that we don't get around to trying that have the greatest success potential.

4 How are you going to increase average order value?

It's not all about getting new customers. Think about how you can get your customers to spend more. Consider if you are charging enough. Sometime putting the price up is the best way to get your business to grow. Can you add things to your product that would increase its value (without massively increasing its cost) and use this to increase the price?

5 How can you up sell?

Can you sell someone a product and then offer them add-ons and additional items that improve the effectiveness, value etc. of the original product that they purchases?

6 How can you cross sell?

Do you have complementary products that you can sell? If someone buys something from you is there something you can then offer them that is a logical next step or extension for them?

7 How can you them to buy more expensive premium versions of this product?

Do you have the opportunity to get customer to upgrade from a basic product to a premium product, from a standard product to a luxury product? Getting people interested in the lower cost item, and then demonstrating the extra benefits of a more expensive one can significantly increase the spend per customer.

8 How are you going to get them to come back more often?

Getting customers to come back should be easier than attracting new customers. What will you do that will get your customers coming back more often than they do now? What will you do to keep in contact? What will you offer them to come back again?
